Review Yume Teriyaki Restaurant - Gosford

$45 per adult..,Seriously?? One prawn, 3 cubes of beef, 3 cubes of chicken, 1 tiny spring roll, a tiny lettuce salad, tiny bowl of miso soup, 2 mouthfuls of fish, 3 cubes of chewy inedible octopus and awful soggy fried rice. Tasteless, badly cooked, overpriced! And to top it of, we were told we had to leave after 45 minutes and I was still eating! We left hungry and poor! We went downstairs and ordered 2 large containers of chips. DO NOT eat here! Waste of money and just because a man (can’t call him a chef or even a cook) put a small amount of food onto a hot plate and threw a bit of egg at you which you had to try and catch with your mouth, they think they can charge $45 per person. A frozen dinner at home would have been more tasty and more filling. Come on Gosford Leagues Club! You need to make these people more accountable for what in essence is very poor for YOUR guests!

What food we were given was tasty, but we left still hungry. It was not good value. We had a group with some that had meat only while others had meat & seafood, all on the banquet menus. Be aware that we went on a Saturday night and there was no a la carte menu, banquet only which was pretty lazy as we were not told when booking. One visit is enough for us.

I was excited to try this place out after its refurbishment a short while ago. Went there for lunch with my family and boy have we been disappointed. I got watery eyes just by looking at the steep prices of their new menu but thought, ok - maybe its super good and worth it. Wife ordered their Salmon Sashimi Tacos from their 'seasonal menu'. 19$ for a pathetic tiny portion of 2 Tacos that had big chunks of salmon and some avocado on top. Salmon was definitely not fresh (texture was like of salmon that was frozen and thawed earlier). Absolute disgrace. If you charge so much for it, at least make it look nice, taste fresh and serve a fair portion. The Gyozas we had tasted good, however with 13$ for 6 pieces they are also severely overpriced compared to the approx. 9$ what most places would charge for the same. Takoyaki were also tasting relatively good but lacked presentation. Too expensive as well, at least 3-4 $ over the normal price elsewhere. The Sushi was a big let down. Ordered the California Rolls. We got the Sushi served in their takeaway container. WTF? At least make an effort and present it on a plate if we are sit-in customers. Aside from that, the Sushi was definitely not fresh and there was more rice than anything else in those rolls. Even Woolies makes better Sushi. Overall, complete waste of money and won't go back there for sure. The ratio between price, taste, quality and portion size is completely out of whack. To top it off, the place had Chinese music in the background. Its obvious none of the staff is Japanese because if they were, they would take more pride in preparing their food. Do yourself a favour and eat Japanese elsewhere, this place is definitely NOT worth the money.

Pretty entertaining experience. Shame nobody explains anything. People at our table had multiple starters so we had to wait and watch them eat before our chef even arrived - 1 hour before we got any food. Buy your drinks seperately, but $15 minimum EFTPOS. Seriously, $15.

Go somewhere else- there are plenty of restaurants in Gosford that don’t pretend that giving you a seat and cooking your food are unreasonable requests. Completely incomprehensible experience here tonight. We walked in at seven to an empty restaurant, with the exception of four people sitting around a teppanyaki table. No need to worry about reservations, I think to myself. After waiting for a few minutes, a waitress comes out of the kitchen and tells my wife and I we will have to wait fifty minutes for a seat. This is puzzling. I ask why. She says they only have one chef. The four at the teppanyaki table are reading their menus, and have clearly not yet ordered. I ask, can’t we sit down, order, and have our food cooked along with the other four already seated? No, we have to wait until they are done. I was not angry-I was just sincerely confused. By this point I already had no interest in eating here, but asked a few more questions to decipher the restaurant’s logic here, out of pure interest. But I honestly could never quite understand what was going on, other than perhaps that the chef and waitress on duty did not want any more customers than the four already seated. So, we were asked to wait fifty minutes for a seat in a completely empty restaurant. Most perplexing dining experience I have ever encountered- if you can’t serve people, turn off the lights and lock the doors. If you’re open and there are only a few people seated, I can’t understand why a small party has to wait nearly an hour. We went elsewhere. I strongly recommend you do the same.

Great night out, chef was very accommodating, especially for the guests with children seated with us. Food was exceptional, and was quite varied - Hanah selection. Will be recommending to all
