Best pizzas I have had in a very long time. The bases are thin and light. The toppings are all made and prepared on site and you can taste the difference. You must give this place a go!
A great authentic pizzeria here in Pascoe Vale. It isn't huge but its fresh, very clean and can accommodate many in a friendly and bustling environment where you can speak loudly and not feel out of place! Did I say the staff are friendly? My favourite is the sausage and friarielli... lots of flavour here! The Ortolana is another favourite that cant be missed. It isn't cheap but you are getting quality here and the food is made with passion driven by the owners. They appear to do a roaring trade with take away orders here too. Give it a try!
The best pizza we’ve ever had! The pizzas are authentic and never disappoint. We always seem to order Margherita and the garlic focaccia (which is amazing). We are so thankful to have this pizza restaurant as our local.

This is the real deal. Marco is an amazing pizzaiolo, his pizza is up there with the very best of Neapolitan tradition. The staff treat me like family, I can't wait to go when I can.
I thoroughly recommend you eat here with an open mind, this isn't the pizza you expect, rather it is what you should expect from a pizza. True pizza napolitana at its finest!

Best pizza in Melbourne without a doubt! Have been here many times, we always get the bufala with the truffle oil, can’t go past it. All the staff are amazing and super friendly :)

We had arancini, calamari and chips to start then margarita pizza and ortolana with added fresh prosciutto!!! There is added benefit of BYO wine at minute but being pregnant I’ll have to wait till next time. Would not only recommend but would and will return time and time again!

This is my favourite pizza in Melbourne!! Absolutely delicious. Was visiting this place when it was in Kew and am so happy it’s become local for me! The dough on the pizza is thin but buoyant enough to hold the toppings without going soggy! I had the pizza topped with black truffle sauce, buffalo mozzarella, prosciutto, mushrooms and truffle oil- YUM!!! So fresh and tasty. Perfect score from me! Only issue- I was the restaurant was bigger so I have a better chance of getting in on weekends 😂
Antipasto platter was lovely and good value compared to other restaurants, pizza were good but menu a bit limited (no seafood options). Don’t have liquor license yet so BYO was an added bonus.
We decided to try this place after swearing to never go back to another wood fire pizza restaurant in Pascoe Vale. The food came out very quickly and it was nice. Service was good.
Came here for the first time tonight for a casual dinner. Started with a bit of a hiccup as they didn’t receive our Zomato booking, but after a bit of back and forth we were seated at a table. Suggest ringing them instead if you want to book ahead. The table service was excellent and we were given menus and water straight away. We were a table of 3 so we ordered to share - Starters: zucchini flowers, croquettes, and entree calamari - Main: capricciosa pizza. The food came out quickly and was delicious! Just a little criticism in that the flowers were quite salty, and I can usually take a bit of salt. All in all, the 3 of us really enjoyed our meal, the atmosphere was fabulous, and service excellent! Great addition to the area and we look forward to visiting again.
Went there last night. Extremely friendly and efficient service. All staff were lovely and helpful but not rushing you at the same time.
Entrees are amazing! Had the meat platter, calamari and arancini. Cured meat and cheeses were beautiful and fresh. Eggplant was delish. Calamari - wow. Arancini was lovely but a little smaller than I like but the sauce with it was yummy.
Pizzas are beautiful. Haven’t had pizza like that since I was in Italy 10years ago. I think they must cure their own meats and maybe make their own cheeses. Just awesome. People complaining about take away orders - don’t do it. These pizzas need to be eaten fresh and immediately. Go in and enjoy it!

First class Neapolitan pizzas made by a true pizza master. The mouth feel of the dough is outstanding, as are the high quality toppings. This is the sort of place that makes you crave for more.
Oh and did I mention margherita is 15 dollars and napolitana 16 dollars? Shut up and take my money!

Ok wow!!! We ate in here for the first time and it was fantastic. The pizza bases were amazing. Thin in the centre and thick and doughy on the outside. By far the best pizza bases in the northern suburbs. Everything had a nice hint of salt (in a good way) and did not disappoint. The cheesy focaccia was a bit ordinary for my liking but the other 4 pizzas we had were delicious. The 4 meat was by far the best with the margherita pizza being well suited to the base as well. We tried every dessert on the menu and they were all good, with the baba cake being my favourite. The Nutella pizza was also nice. Not great but nice. The centre of the pizza was a little crispy which made it awesome. The thick edge though just tasted like bread with Nutella. The ambience was nice and the decor is very cool and inviting. Clean is an understatement. All in all it’s a nice place to go. Cost wise it’s pretty average with dinner, coffee and dessert for 5 costing us $115. This place is a great addition to my little burb and I’m glad to have it. I will say that eating in gives you a far better meal than takeaway though as the pizzas cool quickly and taste best when served fresh and hot. Definitely worth a go

I've been a few times now and forgot to do a review because the food was so good.
Tonight I had a deep fried traditional Napolitan Calzone, too big for me but very different and full of freshly cooked spinach. We had the Bufala pizza with tomato, foir Di,latte` uncooked prosciutto, rocket and buffalo mozzarella and just to top all that taste off....some truffle oil.
We've had the lasagna, it is in the top two we have had and the gnocchi with gorgonzola, walnuts and truffle oil.
You want to take a drive and see a real wood fire oven in use, by masters of their trade? The come here, not fancy decide just real Italian food.
Wonderful pizza both dine in and take away. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is great! A bit noisy but we had a big group so that's probably why.

Best pizza I have had in Melbourne.. beautiful fresh ingredients are what make good pizza, and this is why circa 900 is so successful. I have been to Naples and eaten at the best pizzeria in the city (L'Antica Pizzeria da Michele) and I can say this pizza was as close as I have found in Australia.
The staff are very friendly, always smiling and happy to have a chat. They even remembered me and my family when it had been a few months since we first went!

I absolutely love this place! I'm very fussy when it comes to authentic woodfire pizza but Circa 900 ticks all the boxes. We've been here about four times now, and every time we visit the food is better and better.
The arancini and the best I've ever had - and I eat arancini at every restaurant I go to that has them on the menu.
The pizzas are buonissimi! Perfect amount of topping, perfect dough, perfectly cooked.

Go to Pizzeria Circa 900 if you are after an authentic Italian pizza napoletana (here you won't get chicken or pineapple on your pizza mate, sorry!!). Anna and Marco are the owners and they are really passionate about what they do! Many ingredients are imported from Italy on a weekly base (buffalo mozzarella for example) and the wood fire oven is made in Napoli in the most authentic way! Enjoy your real pizza!!
We went for celebrating mum birthday, everything was delicious and yummy, nice staff and available, i think is the best napoletan pizza tested in Melbourne, now i undestend why is always busy.
Authentic Italian cuisine within the suburbs. I love the wood fire pizza base, doesn't matter with any toppings. Love the special mushroom risotto, the sauce is rich in flavour but light in taste.
Amazing pizza. I'm not sure what traditional Italian pizza is as I've never been to Italy but if I had to guess I reckon they'd be similar to the pizzas here. I actually have gluten free as I have an intolerance and it's one of the best gf pizzas I've had. My husband has the regular base and every weekend he suggests getting pizza from here...yep cos it's that good. They've got a decent sized menu too and do gf pasta.

Decided last minute to pop in and try this local pizzeria. Did not have a booking but given we had my 4yo niece with us, we happily took the very early 5:30 vacant table that was the only spot they could offer us. Very attentive friendly service and my niece thoroughly enjoyed seeing the pizza making action. Had a really nice family run feel to the place. The seafood linguine was probably a tad salty for our tastebuds but I did enjoy the linguine that was cooked just right and the juicy seafood flavours. We had ordered a simple baby lasagna for my niece but we all enjoyed it so much we had to order an extra main size to satisfy the adults' tummies as well. The cheesiness and mince meat sauce was just perfect - we haven't had such a simple delicious lasagna for who knows how long!!!! Pizza was great - would be very happy to explore their other pizza toppings. Will look forward to coming back, we left with very content tummies...to see my fussy niece finish her plate is great testament how delicious her lasagna was!
Delicious! We popped in on a Friday nite and they were flat out by 7pm. Great pizza and excellent service and friendly atmosphere. As Molly and I say... Do yourself a favour!
Came here late on a Saturday night the staff were happy to serve us and we're not pushy for us to leave. The food was great! I can't believe I haven't been here before. The wood fire oven is out in the open for everyone to see as well as the chefs making the pizzas for you.
The pizzas were delicious, the pasta 10/10 even the gluten free pasta tasted amazing.

Wow!!! What a fantastic place to walk into last min and receive amazing quick service, with smiles on staff face.. The pizza was to die for said my husband and the gluten free was AMAZING!! We also had gluten free pasta, all I can say is YUUUUUUMMMMMMMMM. Keep it up guys, we definitely will be back!!

Those who know me know that I have a soft spot for gourmet pizza. As such I’m always on the lookout for new contenders entering the foray to claim the crown of best pizzeria in Melbourne. I’m pleased to say that Circa 900 did not disappoint. From the moment we entered, I was very impressed with the attentive service provided not often seen in mid priced restaurants. We opted for the arinci balls for entrée but in hindsight probably could have skipped to the main event, the pizzas. I generally do not deviate from ordering my favourite pizza, pruscuitto topped with rocket and therefore we ordered the Bufala and Vesuvio. The base was lovely; thin and with a nicely puffed and slightly charred crust. A very enjoyable dining experience in an unassuming and relaxed environment. Will be back again but only for the Bufala.
Great pizza and pasta. Slightly out of the ordinary fare. Place has a boisterous, happy buzz. Nutella and ricotta calzone to die for, if it doesn't kill you first.
Excellent pizza, had takeaway from there last night. The base is incredible; excellent flavor and texture. The fried calzone is very indulgent and not for dieting folk but for me very delicious. Surprised how good it was. Highly recommend these pizzas.
I can't believe that the base of a pizza could be so delicious, the toppings are delicious and just enough. I have been here five times in the last three weeks and have had excellent and consistent pizza eating experience. My wife has thee gluten free alternative and after eating many gluten free bases that are tasteless and unappetising this gluten free base raises the bar 10 fold. The weekly specials have been awesome too. the service is friendly and authentically Italian (Italians in the Kitchen and on the floor) My wife and I are thrilled to have Circa 900 walking distance from home.

I have been a judge for pizza in naples every couple of years and i have to say i m left speechless about the pizza that i had here last night .after travelling around the world i finally had a real pizza after 10months away from napoli . The owners presented themselves to us and i can understand why the pizza are good the pizzaiolo is been doing this from young age and has real passion in him when he makes those pizza.well done 10/10
There is a difference between Pizzas !. My wife, youngest son and I wanted a quick meal - pizza - and went to Circa 900 for the first time when our usual option in Kew was closed. Another Pizza place in High Street Kew?, we asked ourselves. Well, this was a most pleasant experience as Circa 900 proves there is a difference between Pizza and pizza. The pizzas were the best we have had in living memory; the dough, the napolese sauce, temperature and quality of every ingredient was superior. No kidding.
I am booked in again with some friends for a more leisurely dinner and looking forward to trying some of the other offerings. Do make the change; you wont be disappointed. F&L
The pizza base!. Here you won't find your typical pizza. The toppings are relatively simple and the base is divine - light, thin and fluffy. It's hard to explain, but the simple pizzas they make here are really top notch and make you appreciate what a really good pizza should taste like. Highly recommended!
Laura & Ian from Adelaide. Tried this restaurant just after the new owners took over and while customers were scarce we loved it. Only had one night in Melbourne this time so we decided to go back to see if the food was still great and if the customers had increased. No doubt this is one of the best, if not the best, pizza restaurant in Melbourne. Pizzas are authentic Nepalese, thin based and yummy toppings.
Great to see that the locals have now picked it up also with good patronage the Tuesday night we attended. Staff are great and very welcoming, the family that owns it deserve every success. If you haven't been you do not know what you are missing out on. Must try some of the other authentic Italian dishes next time.
I just wish they would open one in Adelaide.

A M A Z I N G !!!!!. We went tonight for the very first time and could not believe how good pizza can be. We shared one large pizza 2 people and we wanted more. The mozzarella cheese in salad was something else, the bread was cooked to perfection, the top of pizza was fresh and tasty.
Service was friendly and fast. What more can you ask for? Highly recommend to any original pizza lover!!!!!!

Bellissimo! Delizioso! Fantastico! I need to learn Italian so I can order all of the amazing things on this menu! I can’t get over how lucky we were to be alerted to this place. After a rather disappointing night at the famous 400 Gradi pizzeria on Lygon St, an angel reading the blog not-so-subtly hinted that for true Neapolitan style pizza to die for, I should check out this place instead. He wasn't kidding.
Very tasty wood fire pizza. The vegetables are marinated which make it tasty. The pizza crust is light so you don’t feel bloated.
Staff are friendly, albeit we did have a waitress forget about getting us the dessert menu. She got distracted delivering food to another table & then started to clean another table before remembering us. Probably did us a favour because by the time we got the menu, the food was settling and so no longer craved dessert :)
You are required to show your vaccine passport if dining in. They have a window for external pick up orders.
Arguably one of the best pizza joints in Melbourne. If you like Doc (restaurant) type pizzas, than this place is a must visit. The dough is just a standout, whatever they’re doing in that kitchen, is MAGIC! Keep the dough comin! Recommend highly! Photos are shocking, pizzas are rockin
The pizza is really excellent, the staff very kind, the tables are clean, unfortunately the place is a bit small and in an unsuitable context for the excellence of pizza. Despite this, you deserve an abundant 5 stars and I recommend it to all those who want to taste the real Italian pizza.

Honestly one of the best pizza places going around. Highly recommend. The pizza bases are the real highlight. I always get the Margherita - so effective in the classic combination of flavours. Takeaway service is very efficient. They are honest from the outset with any wait times (even if they are longer due to being busy) and they always have the order ready exactly when they say they will. Great service and delicious food!

Get rid of the big girl waitress. She’s ruining the customer experience. When my partner asked her tell me a bit about this place, she says um I’m not sure. Really? You know nothing about where you work? When we wanted to order dessert she goes and cleans another table. When we order entree she doesn’t bring us tap water without us having to ask for it. She doesn’t smile. She never checks on us.
Owner - you have a wonderful restaurant but honestly she has to go.
Anna and the team looked after us for my mothers 80th Birthday. Food was fabulous and the staff super friendly. Everyone walked left completely satisfied. This place is a real find in the Heart of Pascoe Vale South. I couldn’t recommend this high enough.
