My family have been eating at this restaurant for well over 10 years. The food is fantastic and the service is good too. We don't always eat in but have takeaway every week! It is starting to get quite expensive to eat in but is always worth it. Unfortunately you are unable to take any wine to enjoy with your meal. We have been hoping for years that this would change.
I really enjoyed the food. Being vegetarian I normally don't get much options but this place has big variety for vegetarian as well. I highly recommend this place.
I got lots of smiles yesterday. The food was fresh, on the table quickly and tasted delicious.
Be aware that if you're out the back ('alfresco' outside dining area), the acoustics echo hugely, so it may appear loud. That said, on a Sunday lunch, it's all about family.
Love this place. A unique and special place in my heart.
Hired the function room - The food and service was EXCELLENT! I would highly recommend.
Staff was amazing and went above and beyond and food was plentiful and delicious
Had my 40th Birthday at the Resataurant in Greenacre on Fri night. Ali the floor manager looked after us with a great price to use the function room. All my guests and I walked away very happy. If u r thinking of having a function definitely give these guys a call they r excellent.
I love this restaurant. Food is always delicious every time.
Fattoush, arnabeet, hommos, baba ghanouj, tabouli
and garlic lemon chicken are all my favourites!!
The service is also excellent!
Must go and try if you want an authentic, yummy yummy Lebanese meal!
My go to place if I'm craving middle eastern food!
Quiet pricey but the food taste amazing! The mix plate was delicious + ordered 2x extra chicken skewers, which was enough for 3 people!
I love the mint and lime drink! Super refreshing.
Wanting to experience more Middle Eastern cuisine, my boyfriend and I thought that Al Aseel would be a good place to start. To our pleasant surprise, we found the restaurant to have a modern and vibrant interior.
Between the two of us, we ordered the Mixed Plate, Fattoush salad and a bowl of hot chips, totalling $55. Whilst the staff responded to our requests efficiently we felt that they weren’t the friendliest and we found it rather inconvenient when our sides arrived much earlier than our main.
Our favourite was the salad as it was well-combined and enhanced by the texture of the fried pita and acidity of the pomegranate molasses. The complimentary bread had a great smoky flavour and was used to mop up the Hummus, Baba Ganoush and Garlic sauce. Whilst we found the first two to have distinct flavours, the latter was sour in comparison to its famous counterpart offered at EJ. The olives and pickles were also complimentary but we found them to be bitter and unpalatable.
The skewers itself were underwhelming. The lamb and chicken skewers were on the dry side and although the kofta was juicy, the seasoning was rather salty. The hot chips were crunchy as they should be, but at $9 a bowl it was expensive. Overall, we enjoyed the experience and would return to try other items such as the Chicken Lemon Garlic which was recommended by a neighbouring diner.
Good is delicious here! Good quality and very tasty! I would recommend this place to anyone for good Arabic food. The potion sizes were large and plenty to share!
Definitely one of the best Lebanese restaurants in Sydney. Especially the grilled chicken (not lemon one) and the desserts were all really good. All the usual things were also really good like the dips, fatoush and other grilled meats etc
Efficient service. The staff were friendly, honest and very helpful. Food was delicious, generous servings and quality ingredients. Be sure that you will not leave here hungry!
Without doubt one of the best middle eastern restaurants in Sydney. I have been coming here for 10 years and always get frustrated when I try neighbouring restaurants and they are disgusting. You are good. You are the best!!!
good place to have middle Eastern food. their lemon chicken is awesome so is the fattush salad. enjoyed dining there. ambience is great and service is fast. Employees are very cooperative and value for money
Went here as a group for lunch. The interior design is nice, and has a nice ‘classy’ feel. The dishes are great for sharing, and we loved the Al Aseel mixed plate with its three included dips (this would feed 2), and the Chicken chilli lemon garlic. The only thing was, the latter was not spicy at all! The complimentary pita bread went great with the dips. The complimentary olives and pickles were a nice touch, but the former was very salty, and the latter very sour - but not to the point where it was inedible. Service was also friendly, which is a plus.
Came here with a friend last week. I ordered the vegetarian plate and had some of her chicken also which was delicious! I couldn’t stop eating! I loved everything on my plate, some of the best Lebanese food I’ve tried. The service was good, good vibe. Seating is a little close together and it’s a bit too bright but other than that I enjoyed it and am looking forward to eating there again.
Really nice food middle eastern food. The Al Aseel mixed plate is big enough for 2 and delicious. Definitely worth trying. Their fattoush is the best I've had in Sydney.
Limited parking in the car park, but on street parking is also an option
Caution: The pickles are exceedingly salty.
Friendly staff, great ambience. The restaurant interior was decorated elegantly and there was lots of seating options. The chicken thigh fillets were delicious, and the kaftas were so amazing I would definitely order them again. The waitor was also very helpful with our order and recommending dishes.
Al Aseel is a huge restaurant with a great atmosphere. I went with family and thought that it was a very good place to have a gathering. It has nice, affordable options with very nice portions. The staff are nice and the service is quite quick.
We ordered the baba ganoush, hommus w/ pine nuts, falafel, fattoush salad, mince rice and mixed skewers for 6 people. This was plenty of food and we actually managed to finish it all :)
Quality: the dips were excellent and the baba ganoush had a characteristic smokiness which was superb. The fattoush salad was possibly a bit overdressed but still quite crisp. Falafels were crispy. Skewers were chicken, lamb and lamb kafta, all very nice. Also, 80% of our order was gluten free surprisingly which pleased one member of our group.
Service: very good service for a busy Thursday lunch. Thankfully we had a booking as there were many patrons despite being mid week. Waiters were all very polite.
Value: very good quality but the price is still relative expensive. $36 for 6 skewers seemed a bit steep. Dips were well priced though given the bread is free and bottomless. Make sure you don't fall into the trap of the $40 pp banquet. The volume of food is impossible to consume and you ultimately overspend. Our total order as listed about came out at about $28 pp which was much more reasonable.
Overall: Delicious authentic Lebanese food at a reasonable price. Perfect for a nice group dinner out to celebrate an occasion.

God I love the garlic lemon chicken, but why oh why must it be so pricey. I only go a couple times a year but their garlic lemon sauce is amazing. That's the only thing that brings me back. I am disappointed that they don't have specials even to take away. I can't justify going so often for that dish. But it's tasty so I guess it balances out. Although the service is TERRIBLE
I would definitely rate the food and service here!! Highly recommend the mixed platter and fried bread. The kafta was probably my favourite meat. This place comes with complimentary bread and pickles so that's already a bonus for me. I'd be keen to try more dishes on their menu. It's best to come with a large group to order a variety of dishes
First Lebanese experience. Atmosphere was loud and restaurant was packed on a Saturday night. Mixed plate was delicious with very generous servings especially with the bbq prawns and chips plate. Favourite dish was the fattoush salad. Amazing. Service was okay.
Located on Waterloo Road, this Lebanese restaurant was busy with different dining groups of families, friends, and couples. At first glance it doesn't scream out that it is anything too special but once you start eating, you won't be able to stop. The service is pretty good.
We shared a Fattoush Salad, Hommos With Mincemeat & Chicken Lemon Garlic. There is complimentary pickled vegetables. The salad has infused flavours from the dressing of pomegranate and lemon that were amazing with the crunchy vegetables and the crispy Lebanese bread. Absolutely loved the Hommos as lots of bread on the table to mop that up with. The mincemeat made it more filling and added a lovely hot element to the dish. The chicken pieces were lovely and the creamy lemon garlic sauce is divine.
If you're in the area, it is worth a visit and there are heaps of sweet and desserts stored in close proximity including Ashta Laziza. That's definitely worth trying too.
Al aseel has been recommended to us by several people so we decided to give it a shot.
We ordered the fried eggplant, dip platter, mixed grill platter, hot chips , fattoush salad and the chicken & lamb mixed shwarma. The food all all delicious with the hommous, babaganoush, fattoush, eggplant and mixed grill platter all disappearing so quickly I hardly had a change to take photos. We washed it down with hot cinnamon Lebanese tea and orange juice. Our meals were served with pickled chill, cucumber, radish & olives as well as Lebanese bread. Service was good and swift with enough staff on the floor that it never too long to get someone's attention. A stand out was Hani(?) who showed us the Al aseel olive oil and had a chat with us about their food.
We left full and satisfied and with little containers of Turkish delight placed ready to buy at the register. We wanted to have dessert but we're just so stuffed we couldn't manage it.
The cost for 5 adults and 2 children with drinks and ample food was about $125
There was ample seating for large tables, they take bookings, have high chairs and were very prepared.
Will definitely be returning.
There are lots of different things to try, veggo and carnivore options too. I like the chicken shish plate, my friend like the raw mince dish. Wish there were more healthy options and the prices have gone up but overall tasty food.
Al Aseel always provides me with a fine tasting Lebanese feast. The ambiance is great, attributed to the modern, Middle Eastern decor.
The food is what brings me here time and time again. My favourite combinations are the chicken lemon garlic or chicken chilli lemon garlic with fattoush salad, and you can also incorporate the mixed dips to add to the flavour explosion!
The complimentary baklavas don't hurt one bit either 👌🏼
Best Middle Eastern food experience in the whole of Sydney. The service could be done better, but the food is absolutely delicious. Would definitely come back to this place 😊
We often come here to get our Middle Eastern Food fix!
The staff are always on the ball and the food always on point! Mixed meat plate is always our go to with the meat cooked so perfectly. The delicious green mint and lime drink is to die for - so sour!
Came with some mates to get a feed, and was not disappointed 👌🏼
Great food quality (best juicy chicken out there, when it comes to chicken skewers)
Food is always consistent and huge servings. It can be a bit pricy to some ppl. but it's well worth it, if you want to spoil your belly.
Showtime ✌🏼
I'm not sure if it's Authentic or not, but it's soooo good! I normally get the mixed plate and a side of fattoush.
The kafta is a bit salty, but my mrs absolutely loves it.
The chicken cubes are incredible. I don't know where to begin with this dish. I normally hate chicken breast because it's dry and stringy, but Al Aseel cooks it in such a way, it's super moist and full of flavour.
Lamb shish is probably my favourite from the mixed plate. I always order lamb when I go out and this place always makes it so tasty.
Great authentic Lebanese food! Mint and lemon drink is amazing...... cheese sambousik is heaven in a puff ☺️
Very yummy Lebanese food. The Al Aseel mixed plate was very enjoyable. Tasty meats and good dips. Some of the chicken was a bit dry though. Enjoyed the salads, perhaps some of the best Lebanese salads I've had. They are currently running the restaurant out of the function room while they renovate next door. The service is quite bad at the moment, since perhaps the renovations are making things more difficult for them. Many orders are taking a very long time to come out. Probably would be better to go after all the work is completed.
I really can't find anything bad to say about this place. Food is always good and the speed of their service matches the quality of their food. If you're passing by Greenacre, you must try Al Seel. Best value for money without cutting back on quality!
The food here came out almost as quickly as the speed at which it was devoured. The al alseel fattoush salad had a great crunch from the fried bread chips in it, the creamy sauce of the lamb dumplings paired well with the flavoured accompanying rice, but the real standout was the skewer plate - where all meats were juicy, flavoursome and tender. Although the garlic sauce was no El Jannah's, it was still scooped up quickly with the complimentary Lebanese bread. An altogether enjoyable dinner
Perfect everytime! Visiting from Dubai and I always come back for the lemon garlic chicken as its amazing! Kibbe nayi is also one of my faves. I have tried most of the branches...but I believe the greenacre branch is the best overall...food, service etc
Al Aseel Lebanese Restaurant is consistently mentioned in any “top 10 Middle Eastern restaurants in Sydney” lists… and we are going to put it to the test!. We tried Kibbe Naye (raw lamb!), vine leaves, lamb shank and mixed skewers on that day.
The food is authentic Lebanese and the food is always consistent. The portions are decent and you will leave very satisfied. If you can make breakfast then get the Fatteh which is chick peas & crispy lebanese bread covered with a yoghurt dressing, topped with sizzling pine nuts & melted butter. I highly recommend the Mansaf Chicken and the Al Aseel Mixed Plate.
Dined here a while ago with a very good friend of mine. Great memories of abundant plates, all piled up with cultural food. What I remember most is the freshness of each dish. The strength of each dish infused with different herbs and sauces, I loved it. I'm in great appreciation for middle eastern cuisine and must say this place won't disappoint. The kafta (meat) dishes were tender and thoroughly cooked to medium/medium-rare. Beautiful.
Tabouli was fresh and crisp, you could taste the lemon juice. That's a win for me. I'll certainly return here with that particular friend as you may want a big eatery with you due to the large portions :)
Photos are of vine leaves cooked with beef stock/stew, Al Aseel fattoush (YUMMO) and a few kebabs :)
I've dined at Al-Aseels numerous times now, i've also dined there prior to the major face-lift the restaurant received a few years back. On that note, i've tried every single item on the menu.
The food quality remains on the top tier when compared to all the other Lebanese/Middle-Eastern restaurants. The mixed grill platter of 3 meat choices (Chicken, Beef and Lamb) is the flagship menu choice. The diced beef/lamb skewers can be improved as the meat is usually rather dry and chewy.
The chicken and lamb (Kafta) skewers on the other hand extremely tender, soft and tasty.
Tabouli is delicious along with the other small dips you receive, contrary to the other Restaurants, these dips are actually edible!
I've tried the Samka Harra (Spicy Fish) and that's actually a very nice tasting Barramundi fillet in Tahini and various spices with rice. You can make do without the Lemon Chicken dish as it's extremely laden with cream/yoghurt. Meanwhile, give the Garlic Prawns a go but keep in mind, this has nothing to do with "Lebanese Cuisine", I guess it's there to cater for the masses.
Like all restaurants, this one comes with the negative overall points. Dining-in is relatively pricey. I also rate the ambiance of the place and this is usually extremely busy and somewhat cramped inside. Sometimes you have to just wait around the entrance till the waiter finds you a spot when you haven't pre-booked on a weekend (evening). The manager has probably already realized this shortfall and you will never find a shortage of waiters and waitresses standing by to help. Overall a great place to dine.
Great meal, great value. Extensive menu and difficult to chose from all the Lebanese delights. Also recommend going to the bakery next door and grab some baklava on your way home

Trek out to Greenacre to visit the restaurant where the Al Aseel empire began more than thirteen years ago. Patrons swear by this spot as producing the best Lebanese food, despite satellite stores having opened in Lakemba, Newtown, Wollongong and Penrith, with a new one in Alexandria on the way.On a Friday night, the place is heaving. We’re briefly moved into a waiting area that offers a portal into the kitchen. Glimpses of a hard working, well-groomed crew wearing crisp, white, paper forage caps keep us entertained until we’re moved onto a table on the large balcony – perfect for the balmy night.Alerted that we’re first time visitors, floor staff self-assuredly steer us through the menu, swapping out the sautéed chicken livers we ordered for “better” sautéed Lebanese sausage. The resulting dish, Monek ($14), consists of a pile of lean, pinky-sized fried sausages in a tangy mix of pomegranate molasses and lemon juice, freshened up with herbs and chopped tomato. They’re tasty but eclipsed by the free plate of pickles that lands the very second we are seated. It contains a compelling collection of tangy olives, pickled cucumbers and crisp pickled turnips, spiked with beetroot for their trademark magenta hue. Being just two in number, we use the Vegetarian Mix Plate ($24) to give us
Date worthy Lebanese restaurant, a bit kitschy with the decor but the food is every bit amazing! The complimentary pickles and Lebanese bread on the side is a nice service but I highly recommend you order some deep fried Lebanese bread to try - secret guilty pleasure. Portion sizes are very generous here, so usually a mixed grill is enough for me and my plus one. However with such a huge menu you'll be tempted to order multiple dishes. Don't worry - there's always another chance to revisit!
This place has quality food and fresh ingredients.
The only issue was the taste of the lamb which seemed to be a little tenderised.
The dips and rice dishes were very well made.
The atmosphere and service was as you would expect. The waiters were polite and courteous and very professional.
The decor is a little more formal that your usual Middle East restaurant.
Easy parking across the road.
Oh my! The humous with the pine nuts *kisses fingers* I am a huge Lebanese food fan. Anyone who gives me free bread is my kinda people. This is like an upscale joint that Lebanese people swear by and greenacre is apparently the best branch. I had a bunch of things but what sticks most in mind is the beautiful chargrilled chicken and the pastry filled with mince. Definitely worth paying a bit extra to get fancy Leb food
WE have been coming for years and I can not fault this place. It is EXCEPTIONAL Lebanese cuisine. It has had major renovations and there is allot of seating. The chicken is the best ever and the sharwarma is NOT to be missed. However everything is good and you wont be disappointed. We literally have been weekly for years. Its the best.
My favourite Lebanese food restaurant in Australia!! This place is best for sharing. For a group of 4 we recommend the lemon garlic chicken, the lahm mechwe (grilled lamb), a tabouli (salad), fattoush (salad), mince meat pine nuts hommous. Ps. Their fattoush is exceptionally delicious!!!
I've been to Al Aseel many times over the years and does not disappoint. Must recommend the lemon chicken dish my favourite. Al Aseel has great food but not a place to hang and chat, always very busy. Eat and get out.
Have been here a few times now with friends and the service has been good and food is fantastic. Food comes out at a good pace as well. The fried cauliflower is tasty with the tahini, the mixed plates are great too!
Love love love love this place! My second home!!!! Quality of the food is A1. Very generous portions, very reasonable prices and fantastic services. The garlic dip gives my grandmothers homemade toom a run for its money! The fattoush is epic and fresh and so flavoursome. Been here sooo many times its my favourite casual restaurant and I am never disappointed! Hats off to AA Greenacre!
Absolutely adore this place for delicious Lebanese cuisine. Amazing flavours, great portions, and good service - plus reasonably priced. I found other outlets to be not nearly as great as the Greenacre one, which was disappointing. I visited the Newtown restaurant and the food was dry, lacked taste, and they had a much more limited menu than Greenacre - ugh, why! Will stick to the original thanks.
Food is great! Big portions and plenty for everyone. Drink service is a hassle! It was suppose to be endless softdrinks but they take time refilling it and you wait ages for a drink
Al Aseel is a chain of very popular Lebanese restaurants in Sydney. The restaurant has won many awards since opening over a decade ago and continues to attract a huge crowd, I consider Al Aseel my favourite Lebanese restaurant and judging by how busy it is I’m certainly not the only one.
One of my most favourite restaurants. So close to mums food, it's a great option when you can't go home to mum :) only downside is there is no byo wine. But their banquets are phenomenal!
We dined here on Sunday night. The place was busy but service was quick. Food was tasty, would recommend chicken ribs - juicy and flavoursome, mansaf lamb -tender lamb with crunchy nuts. Nice casual family friendly dining atmosphere.
A group of us dined here on Sunday lunch and ordered a banquet menu.
The place was packed but after a little wait we were seated in a big table.
I have to say this has to be the best Lebanese food I had in Sydney.
Fattoush salad was just devine, it was so crunch and tangy. I am a pollo pescitarian so I didn't have meat dishes, but all other friends say it was fantatsic.
My friends who accompained are Lebanese and they said food here tastes like eating at Lebannon, very authentic. Dips were really great also I am not really a fan of Falafel usually but I loved ones I ate at this restaurant they were perfectly crunch outside inside was soft and tasty. For main I had Garlic chicken in skewers - oh my, they were just great. Soft and perfectly cooked chicken breast pieces with delicous garlic sauce. We were all extremely full after the lunch, with plenty of doggy bags for all of us.
Service was fast and attentive. I am soooo coming back here again.
Fabulous!. I don't know what everyone is complaining about. The food is incredible and the service is great. This is one of the best places I have ever dined and I will return many times.
I don't think that I could ever get tired of eating Lebanese food. Having gone to Jasmins on a previous occasion , and thoroughly enjoying that experience, a suggest was brought up on Twitter to check out Al Aseel , as it was implied that the food here wa
I've been to the Surry Hills branch, but tonight I'm eating at the original and some would argue the best Lebanese in town, located in downtown Greenacre. It's a cold autumn evening but the place is almost full, with a good mix of clientele from all walks of life, Lebanese, Asian and in between. Upon entering the welcome is warm and complimentary pickles and a generous amount of Lebanese bread are brought to the table pronto. The pickles look good and taste good. My mixed plate consisted of marinated chicken, lamb and kafta well cooked but still tender and very tasty. But it's what you get with the meat that really grabs me. The tabouli crisp and fresh and tastes and I feel like it's healthy, guilt-free food. While you couldn't describe the baba ghanouj and hommos as 'healthy' they were creamy and a lovely consistency that was definitely not runny but not too thick either. Wonderfully balance flavours. I could say the grill was the best I've had, but all the sides were pretty much up t
I have been coming here for years and it is still the best Lebanese food in Sydney. However, i have to say that the quality of the food has dropped a little lately with the meat skewers sometimes coming out tough and chewy. The biggest difference I have noticed though is the service - disappointingly this has dropped significantly with little attention to diners- who often have to wait for a while for a server to come around- once seated. This seems to be a big issue on very busy Saturday nights and could easily be improved with a few more servers. Otherwise a great and affordable meal.
Wonderful Middle Eastern Food!. This place has a wide variety of middle eastern food and the service is good. The atmosphere of this restaurant is also pleasant.
Probably best to make a booking quite a long wait (sat night)
Service was great food was fantastic especially the lemon garlic chicken or the rice dish w/ pine nuts yummm
Only advice would be to give people waiting a menu to look at and offer dessert
Met with someone here once and tried the lemon garlic chicken. It has to be one of my favorite dishes to date.
Bursting with flavor, generous serving good price
One of the few restaurants you walk out of not only full, but satisfied.

Being of a Middle Eastern background I think I would know what good MIddle Eastern food should taste like.
It was ok, not wow, not terrible, just plain OK..... 7/10
This place is amazing! My boyfriend is Lebanese so he did much of the ordering but I do know my tabouli and hommus which are absolutely amazing at this place!! We had lamb skewers, chicken thigh and chicken pastry all too die for! Large servings and reasonably priced. Highly recommended!
The best Lebanese in Sydney, outdoes all the others, and the new decor is very impressive
Yum. Food is delicious and fresh. I love their salads here, very different but tastes so good. The restaurant is really nice and modern but the ambience is really noisy. It can get so noisy that it can sometimes be unpleasant.
My only other gripe is that the tables are really small. We dined for 2 and the food could barely fit on the table. It was really squashy and we had to stack a few things on top of each other.
Other than that, one of the best middle eastern restaurants I've been to so far.
Still as good as before, can't wait to come back.
Banquet menu. Came here at the start of march with about 15ppl with intentions of ordering a nice lebanese style feast.
We were of course recommended the banquet $40pp which i found to be one of my favourites i've ever had (and i've had plenty!)
The food was all fresh (which is sometimes lacking in lebanese places) the tabouli and fatoush were beautiful and dressed perfectly! fatoush being my favourite salad was amazing and did not let me down.
plenty of vegetarian options and great dips/ mezze to begin with. of course everyone is full before the meat arrives but hard to resist when you have the garlic sauce tempting you.
staff were very accommodating as well. as it was a birthday, we did not have any awkward, cake/ plates discussions. they made sure everything ran smoothly, brought out enough plates and forks for everyone! (as restaurants should but of course theres always the few who think its there right to charge you extra for this service, (should be complimentary when youre already spending so much!)
so thumbs up from me and definitely recommend for large groups.
The Flagship restraunt of the Al aseel empire. Turnover is crazy with this shop and descent speed in service considering the place in most times is full. Food has always been great. Best fattoush mix I have had. Lemon garlic chicken dish?? Mmmmm a must for a first timer. Also at the end try a Mint & ice lemon drink to cap off your meal. ;)
Fresh and great food. Great food, it can be loud with big families and ambiance is standard more eat and run but the food is amazing.......
Better than the one in surry hills! Share a mixed plate between 2 people!
Awesome food and cheap if you get the buffet! Yum!
Baba Ghanoush. Mix platter was a good way to try each meat with baba ghanoush and hummus sauce. We also ordered deep fried falafel, spicy minced meat and chicken breast lemon garlic (House Specialty). Baba ghanoush was our favourite sauce since this sauce ran out really quickly. The falafels and the spicy minced meat were OK, the chicken breast was good but I could not eat too much. The mix platter was simply our favourite dish.
Always enjoy the traditional, home-style food here. Very filling and tasty. Be sure to make a reservation as it's ALWAYS busy!
