Love coming to this restraunt, great new management, customer service is at its finest, lovely friendly staff, and truly great food, the steak is by far the best steak we have had. Highly recommend. Thank you to the team at Urban Grooves.

Featured In The Pictures: The Salmon, The Pumpkin Gnocchi, Side Of Wedges, Side Of Garlic Bread. Sparkling Wine *At the time of my dining at Urban Grooves. When you signed up to their newsletter by Email. You got a drinks voucher ( December 2021) Wonderful service. Delicious food. Best Gnocchi I've had in ages. Only downside was the Salmon came by itself with a side of peas. But everything else was delightful. 👌

Every-time I go to Urban Grooves their customer service is fantastic. They are always so friendly and smiling. I had one issue when I ordered a steak and they fixed it so quickly with no fuss. Their Chai lattes are the best. It’s a great place to catch up with friends and family. I highly recommend it.

They forgot to put our coffee order through. So by the time our cakes came out I said are our coffee far and she said not far at all. Finished cakes still not out so I went in and she said sorry they didn't go through. Coffee came out and was hot and didn't have a handle. Used to love this place 15 years ago was the place to be. Cake was not something to rave on about. Sorry to day

Swimming with Syrup. It would be nice if they can separate it. So it would be much presentable.

The service was friendly and the staff were nice. I ordered the baked eggs which were undercooked so I asked if they could cook a bit longer and they returned with a plate of rubbery egg and bean cake. It was inedible, and I'm not particularly fussy. I ended up sharing the chilli scramble with my friend which was decent. I said something and they just said "oh I'm sorry". Additionally the bloody Mary's we ordered took 30 minutes to get to the table. When they did arrive they just seemed rushed and sloppy. I understand they'd run out of juice and needed to get more which wasn't the issue. I'm just pained we had to pay premium prices for sub par food and drink. I received about 6 apologies but no action. I don't think I'll go back.

Exceedingly average food for the price point of a much better establishment. Service was passable but the cracked pepper never came.
Brian Grace
The food is really good well priced the service is first rate. I was there with the family we all enjoyed our food and drinks. Will be back again

I'd just like to drop a quick line to say how much we enjoyed breakfast this morning. Great food, lovely staff and speedy service. We will become regulars. Thanks Urban Grooves and staff. 😀

Food just melts in your mouth. Carrot cake is a bliss

Ordered food today through Uber ways to get it delivered cold and get charge $8 for a smoothie that’s sane size as a small coffee that tasted like water. It’s not the Uber drivers fault either that food was stone cold would of been cold before leaving the restaurant. You guys are over priced at least if your charging top price deliver on it. Safe to say aren’t going back again prefer to get Maccas at least I know I get that delivered hot

Although this place had friendly staff, I ordered an iced latte which was undrinkable it was so burnt & bitter tasting, my friend ordered a smoothie that had no flavour, no staff asked anything of me not consuming it and the aesthetics didn't make up for much. Would not recommend.
Andrea
Great local restaurant, the food was spot on, I went with my husband as son and I ordered the grain salad, this was delish, came with halloumi on top. My husband ordered a Parma which was huge, and expensive as it cost 28.50 which is a little pricey. My son had a cheese burger but thought it looked too pink so only ate half. I had a taste and thought it was fine. Service was great.

After the upgrade of the atmosphere, food service and all were the same, good! But the Feel changed big time. Felt like im in a super modrrn place where i can chill and dine with friends. At times I just get some dessert there and just hang out around there. Lol. Great job guys!

Great service, underwhelming food. It was nice but it wasn't amazing. The bruschetta was dry, the salmon was lovely and moist. The vegan pizza was nice but a strange combination of walnuts, chickpeas and corn. But the dough was great. We still had a nice time because the service was great, but wouldn't come back
Snowflower
Easy to book. Lovely and friendly service. Ordered the zucchini and corn fritters, and it was yummy. Entertainment book users enjoy 25% off so that was a bonus. Plenty of 2P parking just behind the cafe.

Went to Urban Grooves on Sunday for a early morning breakfast. It was amazing! I had the Vegie Breakfast with added bacon and it filled me to the brim! The service was excellent and the pricing is very reasonable for what you get! Would 100% recommend checking it out!!

I had a nice piccolo here. This is big cafe with good service although I wasn’t offered any water with my coffee.

But that aside my piccolo was definitely one of the better ones that I’ve had lately. There was a good amount of milk froth, I really enjoyed the coffee flavour.

Overall this is a great cafe with some outdoor seating and heaters on a cold day which is the kind of attention to details that we all like.

Definitely worth a visit if your in the area.

Enjoyed a family get together on Easter Saturday.
Service was very good, no problem with waiting.
Had the Bruschetta, which had 2 large pieces. Big serving.
Porterhouse was just right, pepper sauce was yum.
Lamb was good.
Extra 1/2 point for the owner who i thought was very helpful.
We came here the other week for dinner. The staff were friendly throughout the night. The gnocchi was soft and fluffy and the chef was kind enough to serve it without the olives. It had just enough chilli without being overpowering.
When it comes to Gluten Free pizzas there seems to be a trend to use store bought pizza bases. The toppings were great but the base wasn’t ‘homemade’ which was a bit disappointing.
We weren’t ‘wowed’ by our meal but it was good to try somewhere different.
Lina's Music House
We came here for lunch because it was in the Entertainment book.

The food was plated nicely. The confit duck leg was a little dry.

The dishes utilise the colours of the rainbow.

Love the food photo captures here.

went to urban grooves for dinner tonight, super busy for a thursday night. the restaurant is lovely with nice decor

i ordered the chicken involtini which states on the menu gluten free, after telling the waitress that i am Coeliac, she tells me the sauce that goes with the chicken is NOT gluten free and asks me “would you like us to remove the sauce”... im sorry but WHY is the chicken involtini stated as gluten free when the sauce that goes over it isnt?! luckily i was told so the sauce was taken off... i could of been so sick! this is misleading for other coeliac’s!!!!

the chicken was actually really nice though after eating it, was full of flavour and i loved the sweet potato purée with the broccolini, went very nice together!

we then ordered coffee and it was nice but not hot enough, literally just warm milk!!!!
Quinn Tran
They have really nice space here, both inside n outside. Food is quite nice, drinks r good, the portion is quite good, the staffs r quite professional, n friendly.

I thoroughly enjoyed the food and dining experience here last night. This place was still quite busy when we came in after 8pm last night, but I loved the vibe of it. Busy but not too noisy that you can’t hear your friends. I had the prawn and lobster ravioli dish and was not disappointed! A good amount of sauce to ravioli ratio and the prawn and lobster mixture inside had very subtle flavours but the white sauce complimented it well. I also got to enjoy the wedges and eggplant chips which was beautifully cooked and seasoned. Loved the paprika and tumeric seasoning on the eggplant chips and the batter was light, nearly a tempura texture. I highly recommend you try out the menu as the portion sizes are good for the price and location.

Last-minute birthday party reservation for 15 people. Slotted us in no problem. Upon arrival, service and greetings were above and beyond what I expected, and the food was absolutely fantastic, and far larger portions than I had prepared for.

The staff are awesome, and cater to almost every dietary requirement/preference.

Couldn't fit in a dessert. Will definitely be back!
Jade Purchase
Sadly this place has gone downhill! After renovating they have cut down the menu and I found it quite difficult to find something appealing. I went with the Moroccan chicken salad and it was incredibly bland that no amount of salt and pepper could fix! Also tried a few of their cocktails including an espresso martini but I’d skip them altogether as I think there a waste of money for the size you get and how they taste.
Staff are friendly and attentive though!
Joe Carriera
This was our 1st time here and very impressed. We had the porterhouse steak, cooked to perfection and the best we have had for a while. Service was great, staff extremely polite. We will definitely visit here again.
Gee
Popped in for an afternoon coffee and cake. The Mars Bar cake absolutely delicious and apparently they’re made by a local baker. It was a generous portion size and we got ice cream on the side! The frappes were very average and we felt quite disappointed by them.

Went to Urban Grooves Cafe on the weekend for breakfast and from the beginning we had a good impression of this place.
The restaurant was recently renovated and had a very warm feel about it and the staff were very friendly to compliment the atmosphere.
I ordered the big breakfast and my wife the vegetarian breakfast and the food was served up quickly and presented nicely, the taste of the food was delicious, we both enjoyed it very much and look forward to coming back again.

Friendly and efficient customer service. Warm and inviting interior. Food is good, hot chocs are really nice. I would give the veggie patties a miss and the toast is not the best otherwise all is good. Love the tomato salsa on the big brekky plate. Parking is a little tricky. TY!
Naomi Tracey
Absolutely fantastic customer service, cannot fault it! Regularly come here with my 3 year old son and they are so friendly and accommodating.. his food always comes out quickly. Food is good, coffee is great! Such a friendly and inviting atmosphere
Eating With Ebony
Got a groupon for breakfast for 2 with coffee for $29 which is definitely a good deal. My friend and I got a big breakfast and a mocha. The service was really friendly and fast. They always made sure we were alright but not too much that it got annoying. The food was really good & definitely filling 😊

Good atmosphere but my menu pick was lacking.
Went with a few girlfriends for dinner on a Saturday night.

Food: Chicken Parma - 2.5/5
- Chips: excellent
- Parma: tasteless, and I’m really not sure it had Panko crumbs as advertised. Cheese and sauce on top had little flavour or love
- Salad: super boring. No flavour and minimal dressing.

Other ordered the chicken involtini which looked nice and one ordered a steak which I wasn’t going to for $35+ from a cafe.

Service: we were forgotten for a long time as we were seated at the back. But once the crowds died down the staff were friendly and attentive.

Split Bill availability: Yes (thank you)

Relatives or friends visiting Melbourne is an opportunity itself to venture into a foreign suburb and perhaps find a hidden gem. In an edible form, of course. First visit on a Sunday evening and an Australian restaurant was picked seeing as it comprised of safe meal options such as pizzas, pastas, burgers and the usual parmigiana/ fish and chips fare. Service was friendly and attentive; made us feel welcomed and at ease.
Sakura Moon
Wonderful, friendly and attentive service. Nice hot beverages and selection of cakes. Nice cosy atmosphere. Would recommend the lemon tart and mocha.
DamoForce Food
A local favourite in Greensborough. The coffee is great and range of food tasty. The steak was awesome and we took a treat to go which was very much enjoyed later on.
Burgers Of Melbourne
A great family friendly restaurant perfect for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It was good to see the extensive range of burgers and shakes, also the shared plates are amazing!

Visited another Cafe in Greensborough ( Urban grooves cafe).

Last weekend, I been there with my husband. We sat inside, was cool , fresh & clean environment. Staff was really nice.
I impressed with customer service of this cafe.

For drinks we ordered Coffee Frapes.
Drinks were good.

And for main meal I ordered Chicken Parmigiana.
My husband ordered Chicken & Leek Risotto.
We didn't wait long for our meals. Food was on our table in 20 minutes.

I had my chicken Parmigiana. I like it but I feel chicken breast little bit less of flavours otherwise meal was perfect.

My husband loved his Chicken & leek Risotto. I also tried his meal. Soooo good, very good flavours , I like it.

If someone will ask me to select one from both meals then I'll select chicken & leek Risotto.

So I have been making sure during my last few days in Melbourne that I visit as many cafes near work as possible. Set on the Main Street of Greensborough there is ample parking at the back of Urban Groove. Upon entry I was met my a large glass cabinet full of sweet delights! With a fantastic cake range and good coffee it’s an ideal place to take a mate! With indoor and outdoor seating available you will always find a table.

It's a really nice place quite relaxed and family friendly I had the beef burger the meat and sauce there was delicious I loved it and definitely recommend it.

I came here for my 18th birthday last night with family, and from the moment I walked in I was made so welcome. My waitress offered me a drink on the house, and I had the most amazing Toblerone cocktail. My large group felt like we were the only ones in the restaurant, the level or service was so high. The food was delicious, service was prompt, AND the servers initiated the singing of happy birthday! Overall, a fantastic night out!

I came in with very specific dietary needs and the wait staff and chef provided me with a delicious and safe meal. Thanks, guys -- you always do a great job!

Great food. Nice environment. Busy on Friday night. Delicious nachoes and surf turf. Highly recommended for a bite. Great food. Nice environment. Busy on Friday night. Delicious nachoes and surf turf. Highly recommended for a bite.

Ah Urban Grooves the scene of my teens. I was recently, for somewhat nostalgic reasons, pleasantly surprised to see this guy still alive. It's been years since I frequented but they have survived by being relevant, serving their purpose as a casual eat dishing up crowd pleasing classics. On this occasion we popped in for a post movie dessert and enjoyed a selection of cakes from the cabinet. Mars bar cake (an oldy but a goodie) was scrumptious as was the apple crumble. Dinner looked pretty appetising too. A decent local on the main strip that has stood the test of time

Urban grooves is always a great location, if you don't what you want to eat. It has great variety And the food is always cooked well. If you are a fan of chicken, this place has some of the best chicken breast I've ever eaten, so tender and delicious.

Amazing food! Amazing service! I don't normally rate places but I wanted to go out of my way to give this place the right credit! Best pastas I have ever had!

Honestly, I really cannot fault this place! It is good quality, honest food that comes so quickly, always hot, and the service is delightful!! Yes- Mabel Jones may have the fancy interior but just up the road is the perfect family-friendly restaurant that's no-fuss! We find it so easy to just walk in and be instantly comfortable dining with our toddler! Thank you to all the staff who are always super helpful, friendly and accomodating!!!

I'm super happy that I've found this place! The menu is full of variety. Loved the refreshing ice coffee and ice chai's! Having almond milk was a big plus. I ordered the smashed avocado and my friend ordered the veggie breakfast plus haloumi cheese. Eggs were cooked really well, great flavours in everything! Staff were super attentive and friendly but maybe slightly over the top that at times we felt a bit uncomfortable. But all in all I will definitely be returning back to try more of the menu! Great work!

We are so happy to find this fabulous cafe in Greensborough. We ate dinner here on Monday night. It was busy, a lot of people eating outside and groups of customers eating inside. The deco is modern with a lot of tables. One of the specials for the night was kids eat free on Sunday and Monday nights when a main meal is ordered. I had the Atlantic Salmon with scalloped potatoes, rocket salad and beetroot jelly drizzled with orange reduction. It was delicious. My partner had the Wagyu Beef Burger. We also had the kids hawaiian pizza and fish & chips. The staff were great, attentive and hard working. We will definitely be back, great value, a lot of menu choice, space and excellent customer service.

Popular

When other cafes wait for customers, UG is always buzzing. And now I know why. You can get a quick meal here, well er.. quickly. It's fast food but without the stigma. The wait staff were upon us in seconds, drinks were there before we warmed our seats and food was on the table as fast as fries in a Maccas's drive through. Only the quality was reasonable - lamb salad was as described and tender, the pasta sauce was watery but had a delicious flavour. UG's advantage is the staff's prompt service.
Ashley Swallow
Zucchini fritters entree was a large portion and delicious, lots of flavour and topped with crispy spinach, oven roasted cherry tomatoes and a yogurt topping.
Lamb salad was great, I did ask for no olives however it came with A LOT of olives, removed them but could still slightly taste themđŸ˜©
Staff were great and really attentive.
Ordered a almond milk latte to take away and the end of the meal and when we got the bill saw I'd been charged an extra $0.60 for take away, not sure if this is normal or not as I've never seen it before and not sure what the extra charge is for? Also, the coffee was not the best tasting and tasted slightly bitter.
Hungry Catepillar
My fav breakfast spot in the diamond valley. Always busy due to the fresh and large portions. You will never leave hungry. Coffee is great too.

Urban grooves is my local go to spot for a casual lunch, breakfast with the girls or a pre-movie dinner with my family.
The meals are always well cooked, flavourful & there's a great variety of choices on the menu. The chicken Caesar wrap served with chips is my favourite lunch to order & I'm so glad it's returned to the menu! The cakes & desserts are also fantastic whether it's after a meal or for coffee & cake afternoon teas.

Came in about 5 minutes ago for a meal and drink,
Staff argued about who needed to make the decision to seat us

Then to be told they only had a table of six available but didn't want only two people to occupy it

Bad customer service

True to its name, this busy Cafe (and finalist in this years Banyule Business Awards) certainly has found its Groove catering to the local community in its casual modern style. Located in the heart of Greensborough, opposite the Plaza on Grimshaw Street, it's open 7 days a week, 8am until late, and booking is easy via phone, their website or Dimmi app.

As soon as you approach you hear the buzz of the sidewalk diners engrossed in conversations, and someone's friendly dog hoping for a pat before you go past. Once you're through the lovely timber framed door & windows (which can be opened in nice weather) you're greeted by the modern decor, polished concrete floor that invites you past the stone plate wall counter and the dessert cabinet that begs you to save room for later.

Head Chef Michael Kopp has done a great job with the menu, as it presents plenty of choice without being overwhelming. It offers reasonably priced staples such as Soup, Wedges, Focaccias, Wraps and Chicken Parma. If you're after something with a little more imagination, then the S&P Calamari Salad, Tandoori Chicken Pizza or Chickpea & Pumpkin Tagine may be more up your alley.

Although a little frugal with the Tartare Sauce, the Traditional Fish & Chips we had were cooked to perfection - with crispy batter on both. The Vegetable Risotto with Roasted pumpkin, spinach and basil pesto was also clearly cooked with confidence and was faultless.

They boast that all dishes are made fresh in-house, and this comes through on the plate. They also cater for sensitive stomachs with gluten-free and vegan options, and also offers Almond Milk for those avoiding Dairy and Soy.

I've been here several times, and every time the service has been friendly, attentive without being intrusive, and fast without being rude (they actually wait until everyone has finished their meal before clearing the plates - one of my pet peeves at other places).

The owners Emmanuel and Andrea have done a great job with this cafe over the last 6 years, creating a real focus on customer and community. This is evidenced in their service, food options, allowing bill splitting, specials, Happy hour, free kids meal deals on Sundays & Mondays, giveaways and the special events they host.
The only thing that detracts from the whole experience is they allow alfresco smoking, which means you won’t get to enjoy the balmy summer breezes with dinner unless you're looking for your main to be served with a side of nicotine and a headache.

Overall, I highly recommend this cafe. Just remember to set an alarm on your phone, because brekky can turn into lunch, which can roll into dinner... you were warned.
Luke Nevill
Fantastic food, the gnocchi Americana was full of flavour. Service was faultless! Family friendly. Highly recommend! Also pumpkin ravioli was also very tasty

I had breakfast with mum this morning. I have green and grains and ordered chef's breakfast for her. we were happy with perfect food, lovely staff

Urban Grooves peaked a few years ago. Now it's average & overpriced. I had a very ho-hum meal here a week ago and wouldn't bother eating here again.
Cameron Hill
Breakfast with my boy, we grabbed bacon and eggs, a juice and a flat white. Total 36. Standard pricing. Bit low on the standard of food. But we finished it.
"JT" Jeffrie Trika
Much better .... JT-09/10/2017.

PREVIOUS
Could be the trendiest spot in Greensborough ......

Menu is nothing extraordinary, quite average, pricey for what it is.

Always busy and probably the best available on that strip especially at night, also it's the only coffee shop still open at 5 pm.
Josephine Mitchell
Went here for breakfast with my friends and really enjoyed it. The staff were very friendly and our food came out pretty quickly. I ordered an iced chai and the organic muesli. The iced chai was very nice with a slightly noticeable chai flavour. The icecream in the drink was delicious! The muesli was really nice topped with fresh berries and yogurt. I really enjoyed it and would go back here again to try chai milkshake :p
Fritic83
I was pleasantly surprised with this cafe/restaurant. It's nothing flashy but I had one of the best salt & pepper calamari salads ever here. The salad was literally just rocket and cherry tomato with the calamari on the side but it was so tasty. My sister had the chicken Caesar salad and she was very happy with that also. The portion size is good and well priced would be back here if I'm ever in the area again.
Sean Gaylor
I was staggered that the $5.5 juice wasn't fresher squeezed, if I knew it was coming from a bottle I would've gone across the road and got a 2L bottle cheaper!!
Chefs breakfast was as good however nothing outstanding. Need to sort out the juice debacle before I'm back!
Krystal
A good cafe to go to for breakfast or a coffee - there is nothing "extra special" on the menu just your normal things for breakfast but it is always tasty and always great service!
Liza
Very hit or miss. The service is always great. The food is inconsistant, sometimes excellent and sometimes below standard. We have often been squished so close to other tables the back of our chairs are touching!
Bobp3562
I went to brunch on Sunday with my wife we found the staff friendly and helpful. The food was fresh and excellent. I had the chefs breakfast and my wife had the veg breakfast with added smoked salmon both were so large we didn't eat for the rest of the day. Even the tea was made with leafs and not a bag over al highly recommend .
Julie Byron
Food was good but in my opinion over priced, saff were fiendly and service was okay, I had the vegetarian risotto and it was nothing special. Atmosphere is nice though which saved the rating, i think some live music would definitely spice it up and if prices were dropped or food quality lifted it would be a stellar resturaunt.
Bri
I went for brunch twice and with the new redecorating and management. It has picked up its game! I had the tandoori pizza, it has so much flavour and it tasted fresh.
Another time I had the chicken avocado focaccia it was really yummy too. The waiter was also cracking jokes with us which was nice too.
Linda
Great little place to catch up for a quick coffee and if you're a regular, the staff never forget a face. Not a lot of vegan options however the chef is willing to be challenged a little in a good way!
LauLau
Worst food in the re and so expensive. Don't bother to come here! Pizza was undercooked and full of water!
Service is slow and so pricey for what you get.
Gdkf
Ive often driven by this cafe and it always seems to be buzzing so I had the opportunity to pop in late Monday night. Excellent!!! Fast, very attentive and friendly service, we ordered large coffees and two desserts-mixed berry cheesecake and sticky date pudding, both with icecream. The desserts themselves were generous in size, great to share! Plus the addition on big scoops of icecream was great. The cheesecake itself was delicious, very fresh. The stickydate was a muffin that was a bit dry. More butterscotch sauce would have been an improvement. Nonetheless was a great presentation!

This was my first visit of this busy popular cafe in greensborough, but very disappointed with the food. Chickpea fritters were awful, gooey, taste less, condiments were not great either, pizza was full of potatoes and pumpkin.
The setups looks good but very noisy and overpriced. May come back for breakfast
Moo
We love this place! Food is really good and of good size. And desserts.... they all taste yummy! The place has been recently renovated, but it has kept its nice vibe. Staff is always friendly and attentive. It's recommended to book a table because it's always packed...
Maddi Schembri
I recently tried this place with a few work colleagues to celebrate a team members promotion. We came on a Tuesday night around 6:30 and it was already quite busy.
We were seated on a large table down the back.

Once everyone had arrived, a very attentive waiter came to take our drink orders and to my delight they had the ice tea I have been trying to find everywhere.
Shortly after that we ordered our mains which took half an hour, give or take, to come out.

I ordered the Calamari salad and asked to have my calamari grilled which was a mistake. I'm not sure if they 'forgot' the seasoning but the calamari had no flavour what so ever and I was very disappointed as it wasn't a cheap meal.
On the contrary a couple of my work colleagues had this beautiful beetroot gnocchi in a creamy sauce which I would definitely get if I was ever in the area again.

After all our mains were finished some of us ordered dessert. I tried a crĂšme boule which was absolutely amazing and was served with a scoop of ice cream.
Another colleague ordered a white chocolate and berry cheese cake which was also beautiful.

The staff were very attentive and friendly, and the layout of the cafe was spacious.

I would definitely like to come back here again and try a different main or just purely come for dessert :)

Yum.

It's never been as good as when the original owners were here. Woodfire pizza, quality food and coffee. It's slowly gone down hill ever since. It's surprisingly still busy, but I guess that's because there is nowhere else to go in Greensborough. The pizza is very average and everything else is boring. Step it up guys before someone else opens a better place up very soon!
Andrew Nixon
Good food, ate there Sunday evening with the family ,generous serves that were very tasty.
Ashley
Always a solid place for lunch in Greensborough. A short walk from my workplace, I love coming here for a quick coffee or Sunday lunch with friends. The coffee is strong but still enjoyable, and I'm always a fan of their sandwiches
Mumma Bear And Baby Bear.
Usually I like it here. Not today. And not again. I asked for veggie breakfast with Avocado (extra $3.90) and poached eggs. Avocado was on the verge of mouldy, parts were brown and stringy I could not eat it. Poached eggs? No, hard as a rock and so well done it was on the verge of powder.
I also got my son children's pancakes which gives you two pancakes.. One of them was edible... The other was not. My son is one of the least fussy 5yo eaters I know of. And he couldn't eat the second pancake.
Jacob
Really nice little place. The food is really nice and most importantly, the staff are great. No problem was too big. Pop in and pay this place a visit if you're in the area.
Teagan Fraser
Absolutely scrumptious meals I couldn't fault and all the staff were really friendly. Heaps of beautiful cakes on display and reasonably priced. Will definitely be back again

Had a lovely birthday lunch with 6 ppl at Urban Grooves. The garlic cheese pizza entree was scrummy and enjoyed by all. My salmon main was delicious and good value for money. Lots of beautiful looking cakes on offer. Staff were knowledgeable and very friendly. Good vibe in the newly renovated space 😊

Don't go there on a Sunday. Whomever was cooking on 04/10/15 at around 12:50 pm gave us a blue rib eye when we asked for a medium. We went there the Friday prior and had the best medium rib eye ever. Further, get rid of that beetroot gnocchi. It's like gnocchi but it's stained purple with no texture. Otherwise, every other dish has always been consistently good. Especially the steaks.. Just don't go on a Sunday.
Sarah J
I eat here at least twice a month - it used to be more, but I don't go as much now because its very expensive. The food is great, the service is great, can't fault it in that respect, never had a bad meal or a bad customer service experience, but to have lunch or early dinner with a non-alcoholic drink and sometimes a piece of cake on the side afterwards if I'm particularly starved - and never see the bill under $50 for once person gets a bit tiring. Honestly, the food and service is great, but there are other places I go to that offer equally as good food and service for much less cost.
Sarah
Hadn't been to Urban Grooves in a long time and decided to go last week since we were in the area. Although some of the wait staff were a bit rude, I couldn't fault the food, it was delicious!
UKgirlie
My partner and I are regularly here for dinner or breakfast on weekends. The food is always lovely and the service is always good. We also really like that they have cocktails and beers of the month. Plus it's an easy place to grab a bite from before visiting hoyts.
Emily M
Was disappointed this morning... The service was horrible and food ok, but the service/treatment brought it down and we won't be back. Only 4 of us, 3 prams, very quiet, so they put us down the back (we were the only people in this area of the cafe) yet they still proceeded to fuss about which was the prams were sitting and basically gave us a bad reception even though there was no one else around... And we also said we were only going to be an hour - in and out by 11.30am...

I seriously don't know how this place is still open. Everything is ridiculously overpriced and below standard. Someone else needs to open a cafe in greensborough that is actually reasonable with GOOD food. And some better service please

Odd place. Though it's called a cafe it had this weird vibe crossed between a cafe, restaurant and bistro bar. The good aspects included attentive and quick service, and tasty and generous food portions, presented nicely. But the bad - the prices were WAY above what you'd expect at a "cafe", the coffee was burnt and bitter, smokers dominate the outside entrance way, and contrary to the name it didn't feel very urban or groovy. The plastic cafe seating mixed with restaurant service mixed with football on the telly mixed with classic pop music mixed with a bar, didn't entice us to stay for longer than needed.

Too many smokers, makes me feel sick when going there or even driving past it.

Good and service is good however but not really a family spot or even a place to take your partner

The food is tasty and there is enough, but the overall price is astounding for a place in the burbs. I'd rather a place cut down on the portion size (let's be honest, we could all use it) and cut the price. $23 for a ceasar salad is insane and add a couple of drinks I was getting coins from a $50.

The people are nice and it has a good vibe inside but there are better places to go for the money.

Best coffee in Greensborough. Great coffee in a comfortable environment, Urban Grooves never fails to impress this caffeine addict.

Awesome place to go for any occasion, the food is delicious and the servings are huge, not to mention the staff are always happy and friendly. Will be making this my regular catch up spot !

Um, hello? Does anyone even work here?. Went out for lunch with two of my girlfriends, the café wasn't overly busy but we were seated way down the back and given menus, however then waited over 20 minutes for no one to take our order. No waiter or waitress checked in on us, not even to provide the table with water. We watched as one waitress even walk right passed us to have a sneaky snack of her own. A couple seated not long after us asked if we'd ordered yet and left with us after we said how long we'd been waiting. For that extra mile of customer service, no one even acknowledged us as we left in disgust.

Waste of time and money. Tried this place out with a couple of my workmates. I ordered the seafood linguini and was excited up until i had my first taste. Bland, tasteless and oozing with oil. Didn't even finish of my meal. The waiters didn't walk by to ask if everything was ok and if we needed anything, in fact we had to yell out to get some attention to grab some water on the table. Service was rushed and waiters didn't even give us a dessert menu when we asked for coffees, of course we had to remind them that we would like to look at the dessert menu and the light bulb turned on and it was brought to us. Overall extremely disappointed and complete waste of our time but now we know to stay away from the joint. The coffee was good though.

The food was delicious, as it was last time, thankfully the very short delay between ordering and serving meant the girls didn’t have time to get really distressed about waiting...

Food is nice but a little overpriced

Soggy salad. Decided to wander in as the cafe appeared popular. Goodness knows why. After living in Melbourne for 2 years this has ranked as my worst meal. Soggy half cooked calamari drowned in shop bought mayonnaise -gross. My partner had undercooked chicken with a rather nasty sauce over it. Not sure how 'trio of dips' could go so wrong; 2 fake tasting cream cheese dips and a fish dip -weird. The cutlery and glasses were dirty and the service quite slow. Huge plates that didn't fit on the table and the bill was not exactly value for money. Never again

I came here last night for dinner/drinks. Usually only have coffee here with my friend-it's our local (not much else around). I don't love or hate urban grooves. I think the food tastes nice (I had baked gnocci) but the portions are small and expensive. The main was $22 and I still had a snack when I got home. 1 glass of wine $8.50. I can get better elsewhere but it's not terrible and the location is convenient for our catch ups.
They were extremely busy 8pm on a Friday, I would say our drinks and food came out fairly quickly but perhaps the initial seating/ordering slower but reasonable given how packed it was.
I will come back but not for food I'm too poor for that!

TERRIBLE COFFEE - VERY DISAPPOINTING !!. I have never written a review on here B4 but felt compelled to do so, as I don't have the courage to tell management ! I have been going to Urban grooves for the last few years as there coffee was the best in the area by far. I went there a few weeks ago with friends for coffee & cake as we normally do and found the coffee had changed in taste, very weak, no flavour. I assumed it may have been a one off bad coffee and went back again last weekend, however it was just as bad if not worse second time round...such a shame I used to love going here for my latte..won't be going back again !!

Chef's breakfast with hollandaise sauce. Yummmm

Way too expensive. $60 for four drinks and a bowl of chips? No way were they that good. Too much competition around for a business to gouge customers - they will just go elsewhere, as we will in future.

Needs to inprove quality of food. Went for Sunday lunch- great atmosphere, friendly professional staff and quick service. Good selection on the menu and expected prices however the quality of food was poor. Fish and chips was frozen fish under cooked and soggy as were the chips- can get better from most take away shops. Seafood pieces in the pasta were frozen aswell. The meals overall looked dull. Would really benefit from using fresh good quality ingredients across the menu to bring it up to standards.
Not Dumb
Only good because there is nothing else around. There is little competition for this cafe in the area, which might delude people into thinking it's a good spot. The food is bland and overpriced. The last time I was there I had the waygu burger which was burnt and simply gross. I could have paid $20 less for a better burger at a fish shop.

Excellent service, all the staff are friendly and efficient and we love coming here for that reason and the food has never let us down! Highly recommend!
