Review Mekong On The Green - Greensborough

The three colour drink was good. The spicy fried rice had the lovely charcoal flavour from the wok and the jungle curry was flavourful. We asked for both dishes to be spicy and there was definitely a kick to them both. The roast pork rice paper roll was so bland and had a slightly funny taste probably due to it being premade and the fried chicken wings were average.

Really loved the vibe. The waitress was super friendly and helpful. The food was yummy. Will definitely dine here next time I visit the plaza.

Missing one piece of Rice paper roll Marinated chicken. Avocados were not fresh. Others were fine. Re: Left my email address for placing the order on your homepage (via Zwift) and left Bob’s details for pickup. You may check the info on your site. Order No. #166277008. That’s fine if you wouldn’t refund me $3.2 ( considering it’s for supporting local restaurants in this challenge time). But I think all food materials and ingredients should be guaranteed to be fresh and this is important for a restaurant and for its customers. Hope you could do better.

The food was quite tasty but the wait was long and the service could be much better. Waitresses were abrupt and lacked manners. They seemed arrogant and their attitudes were off putting. A lot of training in customer service would be helpful. Edit having seen the owner's reply: Based on the details of my review you can tell that I did actually dine at this restaurant. Apparently the owner is just as arrogant as the waitresses were on the night in question - which obviously was not the day when I later posted this review. Reviews don't have to be given on the very same day of eating at the restaurant, so please do not assume that you know which customer every single reviewer is. The manager that replies to this type of "trolling" isn't... able to reply within two months anyway, apparently. Advice for the owner: maybe try to respect customers, including those who give honestly constructive feedback. Advice to others looking to try this restaurant: please read the myriad of poor reviews for this restaurant first. Based on the owner's attitude alone - if nothing else - I would never come back here again. Another edit: Might want to check the reliability of your 'reliable' informers I've literally never worked in/for a restaurant in my entire life XD

Ordered two Pad Thai Chicken and Pork (delivered) from here tonight. The worst Pad Thai we have ever had. Hardly any meat in either box. Both boxes were filled to the brim with a bunch of noodles and hardly anything else the menu said that it would have. Extremely misleading, and shameful to say the least! How could you charge $15.40 for a box packed with stir fried noodles and not much else? NOTE on Owner's Response: This kind of business is a total 'rip off'. The owner is outright lying in his response to me, even with his reference to Uber! So I am posting photos of our leftover food with the actual receipt this morning. Read my other reviews on Google. 98% of my reviews are POSITIVE. I give most CREDIT where credit is due. This business is a sham. They are taking advantage of COVID-19 mindset where most of us prefer deliveries of food.

Very delicious food, authentic. Nice decoration. Friendly staff. Playing calm and peaceful Vietnamese music. Good for romantic occasion and family meal. Beef special noodle is our choice every time. Today we also tried pork chop on rice and traditional pork skew. All very nice. High recommended.

Nice spot for pre-movie snack. Lots of gluten free options. Great, thoughtful service. Quality food.

For us, food has consistently been very good. And we’ve ordered a variety of things. My partner and I are well travelled through South East Asia including Vietnam so like to think we know what half decent Vietnamese tastes like. So far we’ve found the beef to be tender and well seasoned (and abundant) the sauces considered and developed - not just the same flavour combo a lot of budget friendly restaurant typically throw into every stir fry regardless of what is says on the menu. The vegetables fresh, crunchy and high quality. For us the service has been quick and smooth. Prices are great. Especially for quality you’d expect from a city restaurant. Food tastes like it’s been cooked with pride. We’ll be back soon!

I cannot believe that this horrible excuse for a pho has been delivered. The broth taste like warm water. Beef is dry as paper..huge chunks of brown onion, no coriander amd over cooked noodles. Not even my can of coke was cold. Definitely not a fan. Photo says enough.

Friendly staff, food was okay, abit too sweet for my liking. Waiting half an hour for takeaway on weekday night when the restaurant wasn't even full. Didn't enjoy the meal at all, it cold had to reheat in microwave.

OK I have eaten at this place a few times since it opened. It used to be Three Red Stripes that rated very poorly on Zomato. The inside is spacious enough and comfortable. The service was just fair on this visit. I had to serve water myself rather than supplied on arrival. The waitress had just handed us a menu when she asked for our order and was hard to grab to order when we were ready. Fail. The coke I had was served with a plastic straw rather than a glass. Fail. Cant recall being served a plastic straw instead of a glass anywhere, get rid of plastic straws theyre a blight on the environment and supply a glass.

This time I had a pork Bun. The pork was deep fried which meant that it got very dry though flavour was ok. The salad and rice noodles were fine but just standard fare. I added the spring rolls and got two spring rolls cut in half so not generous for the extra cost so dont bother with those. The spring rolls had a disgusting taste for me l think they were vegetable spring rolls. Fail. Unfortunately they brought out our entree and main meals at the same time which can mean your food goes cold while you finish your first course. Fail.

Last time l was here l had a seafood pho. The broth was fine and the noodles were good it just didnt have any vegetables in it which meant it was substandard. Fail.

All in all if this place was in Footscray or Richmond it wouldnt stand a chance and wont be returning.

Lovely spot next to the cinema with a pho worth traveling for! A perfect meal pre movie then come back for dessert once the movie is done. One of the better spots in the plaza. Recommend

They make very good BUN (Vietnamese vermicelli noodle salad) love the marinated chicken, pork and beef! Highly recommend!

The food looks authentic and definitly has an authentic fragrance. Taste is very average though. The quality of food is questionable. I didnt get that sense of freshness from anything i had. Even the drinks a pre prepared.

Authentic flavours. Fresh ingredients. Amazing flavour coming off the wok. Their prices are very reasonable. I’ve become a regular. I’ve been telling all my friends

I've visited on a number of occasions, both with the new branding and under its previous iteration. Overall, it's a winner. The menu is big (everyone will find something they like), prices are reasonable, the food is cooked fresh to order, and there's lots of nice seating. I've tried the stir-fried noodle dishes, the Vietnamese bun dishes, banh mi, and it's all good.

Always find this place great - name change from when it originally opened now with a slightly different menu - it’s all good in fact the pho has got better since opening up - the vege spring rolls another favourite - service is always excellent - great place for s quick pho

I've never tried this place before, where you fill out your own order sheet and hand it in at the cash register to order your food, but it was cute. The best bit of course was my lemongrass chicken - lovely fresh flavours. I also ordered a mango smoothie. The thing I liked about this eatery was that even though it is located in the shopping centre, there is seating away from the aisles and the noise level is reasonable.

Mekong on the green in Greensborough plaza. They had the new menu printed and looks cleaner and nicer. The food was ok and it is the best Vietnamese restaurant in that area. Love the marinated beef vermicelli salad. Very good.

Really nice Vietnamese food! Quick service and inexpensive. Pho was a little bland otherwise the other meals were tasty. Would recommend for a quick feed

Conveniently located just outside the cinemas it was the perfect place to have dinner after seeing the grinch. We ordered spring rolls, special friend rice, pad siew, rice paper rolls & sweet & sour chicken. This was for 3 people. Boy did we feel full afterwards but it was delicious. The staff were really friendly & helped us choose our meals when we were unsure of something. They even have some vegan options as well 😊
Thought we would pop in for a quick meal before a movie. What a mistake. 45 mins later and still no meal even after asking 3 times. Even the drinks weren't served. Ended getting our money back and going to the movies hungry. Heaps of complaints from others on the night too.

Had 30 minutes before our movie started and thought we would pop in for a quick dinner. Staff were very responsive and food was delivered quickly!

What we ordered: Chicken bun with spring rolls and chicken pho.

Two meals where we basically couldn’t go wrong. Both very flavoursome and sizes were generous given the prices paid. It was roughly $12 for pho and $15 for bun with added spring rolls.

We would come back as it was perfect before a movie!

Wow. These guys are so busy nowadays and it is not hard to see why.
Much more professional looking and the service is still great.
Popped in for an early dinner for my favourite Spicy noodle dish Pat Kee Mao. With extra vegetables makes for a fantastic full of flavour meal. My mate said his Chicken Pho was great and we always like the extra vegetables option.
Tried the Thai Lemongrass Chilli Prawn entrée for the first time and found it a wonderful addition to the menu.

Awful - thought the name change meant better food but sadly mistaken. Raw prawns, horrendous wait and limp vegetables - avoid this place as it’s only gotten worse if that’s possible.
Mike Green
Been coming here for a long time and it is fantastic to see that they finally got their name change.

Pho still as great as ever and it is nice to see their new menu look as good as their food as all their other menu items got lost in their old menu.

Now Licensed it is our favorite spot to go before the movies with the drinks not being over priced at all and can be taken away.

The addition of group sized booths are a bonus.

Came here Friday night and the place was full. So booking a table is recommended.
