This restaurant is something else. The food is absolutely amazing and cooked to perfection. Super friendly staff and reasonable prices. I have never walked away from Sanook disappointed. Can’t rate it high enough. It’s a must try

Ordered take away tonight. So disappointing. The entre' was soggy, the chilli crispy chicken was dark brown and looked and tasted like it had been re cooked several times, the views special had coconut cream which was split, the dish we had and should never have left the kitchen. The fried rice had been left and reheated many times. Disgusting food. Will not return. Shame on you for allowing this to be served.

Always great food. I enjoy watching their super busy and efficient kitchen which does a big takeaway/delivery trade. Clean and comfy for dining-in too.

Ordered a chicken dish and a pork dish and Fish dish - had to search for the meat, almost non-existent. The special fried rice had 3 prawns - It was basically a $85.00 vegetarian meal, My advice to the Sanook Thai Take away is to contact Gordon Ramsay on advice how to cook a Thai meal ,Red curry sauce had clotted the special fried rice was mush as we're the mixed starters soggy container of mush ..I actually felt sorry for my partner wasting hard earned money on Mush .I've never complained on line about a meal before .Says it all .

Always good food, and excellent customer service. Appreciate the quick response. Thanks guys :)

Delicious food freshly prepared in a kitchen which you can see right into. No mystery wondering whether or not their kitchen is clean and safe here, it's right there for you to see. Dishes are generous, flavoursome and authentic. Prices are reasonable. Service is friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Our first visit here. It won't be our last! Very good!

Food is delicious and service is excellent 👍 Super busy on Saturday night.

Had Sanook take away last night and was highly disappointed. There was zero love in the massaman curry and the thai beef salad which you would think would be solid go too's. To top it off the Rice was like porridge. Such a shame as this place is 2 minutes away but we won't be returning.

Delicious Thai food created with care, and attention to detail. Flavours that leave you lingering for more. Fantastic service and very friendly staff to make our dining experience so enjoyable. Will definitely be visiting again very soon. Thank you team Sanook!!

Very best, freshest Thai food I have ever eaten. Been enjoying their food for years now and am never disappointed.

Great place for cheap and cheerful or for stunning takeaways. So glad I found this.

Stumbled on this place by accident but thank god we did. It is fresh and very tasty thai food.

Absolutely amazing! Busy Friday night for the kitchen, but our food was prepared bang on time, and was simply the best Thai we've had in Perth. We'll be back!
Phil Beer
fantastic food but when you spend $48 on 4 dishes and ask foe 3 small chopped chilli and soy condiments we were told it will cost extra...settled with just one for 4 dishes
Nic Wilson
So fresh and beautiful flavours Best thai north of the river
Kaine Rickard
Excellent food and service, we will be back. We did come back, two nights later, just as good.

Meagan Shanks
Sanook, you've done it again! Such good food!
Alex Croote
Sanook's food is beautifully tasty, made with fresh ingredients, and prepared right there in front of you. Great value for money they consistently impress us.

After looking at the reviews and the $18 price tag for a laksa I thought it was going to onto a winner.
Seafood combined of 1 prawn & mussel, pre frozen fish off cut and calamari. Seafood was not quality and was over cooked.
WonderfulWizard
High priced Thai. Vegetarian options didn't even have tofu. Green curry texture too thin/runny. Pad Thai lacking flavourful sauce. Will not be a return customer.

See update below:
Wow, SO good. We didn't want to dress up, just eat good food and we were not disappointed. The food is incredibly fresh and full of amazing flavour. The venue is very casual with a modern feel and very clean. Awesome job, thank you so much we will definitely be back.

UPDATE: Very sadly since I wrote the last review, the food has really gone down. We ordered the same dish - Green Curry Chicken and there must have been about 4 or 5 very thinly sliced pieces of chicken shared between 2 people and the rest thinly sliced zucchini. So disappointing, we won’t be back.

Limited dine in seating so we usually get takeaway. The open kitchen is so appealing and it all looks so fresh and vibrant. If you dine in, you must try the crispy chilli prawns - battered prawns coated in a spicy chilli paste sauce with kaffir lime. You can get it takeaway but it gets a little soggy by the time you reach home.

They also do a good thai beef salad and decent pad thai but I'd skip the roast duck red curry from here, it's a little watery.

As a resident of Greenwood and having eaten around the world I am so happy to have Sanook as a local eatery. The food is always fresh and never disappointing.
Keep up the good work.

A local little Thai restaurant that never seems to struggle for business; go any night of the week and you'll see people seated and enjoying their meals. I've never had to wait much longer than I was advised for my take out meals and the staff are always friendly. I recommend the Penang chicken, crispy chilli prawn, Thai beef salad, and my wife's favourite, the fish cakes.
Kate2406
Only eaten takeaway from here but i was very impressed by the open, clean kitchen and the girls working the till, they were really lovely and professional. The food from here was fresh and tasty, particularly the massaman beef and the spicy chicken, we will definitely be coming back!

Came here for dinner last week. Was not a bad place to eat and good for a local eatery. The service was great and food came quickly but the food was average with nothing to really rave about. It reminded me a little of wok in a box with everything preprepared and chopped and then put into a bowl for the cook to wok up. So the dishes we ordered all had he same vegetables etc in each. With that said I'd still go back there being a local and all.
Jasmackandherpack
Such fresh authentic food. Chicken and cashew and rice is love light and fresh. The satay chicken is absolutely to die for. So tasty and tender. The Thai fish cakes are traditional and really spicy!

Tried this place last night as we were visiting friends in Duncraig and being a Friday we said we'd grab some takeaway on the way over. I found this place through it's ratings and OMG talk about delicious!! This is the best and freshest Thai we have ever had! I think I may even travel from Inglewood just for it in future!! Definitely worth a try, check it out!

Old favourite. Love Sanook Thai! When we lived local we would get our Sanook 'fix' once a month at least. Not as convenient anymore as we live 30mins away but we came back tonight for a dine in experience because we absolutely love the food and the staff.
Will be back again for sure!

Great Thai spot. This little shopping centre restaurant is unassuming - it may not seem much to look at, but, I have loved every dining experience. Love the fresh food being prepared in the open. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. We are locals and have eaten in or had take-aways about a dozen times and have not been disappointed. Good portions too.

Msg. Got takeaway ther once and ended up with a really dry mouth all night which usually happens when msg is in the dishes
Deb Bluangel
Bit pricey. After reading the reviews here I was looking forward to some great Thai but it was somewhat disappointing. While the entrees were (satay tofu and spring rolls) the mains were a bit ordinary. This could have been forgivable but the whole meal was very expensive compared to the usual Thai restaurant I go to.

Delicious, casual, best Thai in Perth!. My mum, dad, partner and I went last week and were so delighted
With the outstanding FrESH food and wonderful service. U can see all food prepared! So fresh! The vegetarian spring rolls were the best spring rolls we'd ever eaten!
Great, casual dining experience! Byo also brilliant!!

Cant wait!!!. I have had this once before an I loved it, the food was great, im waiting for 5:00pm to come around so I can take my partner there!!
Fausto80
Not sure why it had such high ratings. My meal there was awful. Tried my friend's and was no better. Much better thai around. Not going back.
Madi
Best Thai in Perth. Absolute best thai food in perth.
we bought the pad thai, green thai curry, small jasmine rice and a mix of entree's.
massive portion sizes, absolutely delicious! green thai curry is the best I've had!
If you're looking for asian, or thai definitely give this place a go if you are north of the river.
Once again, fabulous! one very very happy customer.
Have already planned to return on saturday.

Mmmmm. I got put onto this place from a lady over the road. This place does awesome food. We had the tom car and green curry. The tom car was probably the best ive ever had and we have had a lot of thai food here in australia and in thailand. If i was you id dive in and give it a shot!
Mark
Great takeaway food . Simples .
Neil Greenwood
This the freshest food ive had. Great taste

Post 28 Dec is fake. I tried to order food from Sanook over the Xmas period, and they were indeed closed. I was devastated. This cat who reviewed on the 28th Dec is either confusing this place with somewhere else, or is downright telling porkie pies.
don't let that put you off.
Jenmeister
Awesome Thai!. Sanook is my favourite Thai place, and always have been since they started a few years back. Everything about this place is fresh, clean, authentic & tasty and the wait is never long. There's just something fishy about the latest negative review, where they mentioned that "they just got home from Sanook about 5 mins ago, on Dec 28th 2013"? How could that be legit?? If you're a true customer, you would know that they're closed for 3 weeks during this holiday period, from Dec 24th 2013.
Also, nobody would happily pay for something they're so upset about, that they've only eaten just 10% of & not bother to address the issues to the Manager?! One fact I know for sure is that I've never left Sanook hungry. Try it out & let yourself be the judge.

Always have the best meals from sanook, a lot of friends that live nearby say the same thing! Really fresh and really tasty!!
Catherine
Those big tofu triangles arent my fave type of tofu but the red curry sauce was delicious and very exotic tasting! My order was repeated over the phone and by counter staff so they obviously make an effort to get things right. Worth another visit!

Wow. With such a high score of likes and the standard of reviews I had pretty high expectations for our Friday night takeaway. And I was not disappointed. The green curry was the standout but the pad thai wasn't far behind. Crab cakes sauce was nice and spicy, rice perfect. I can't believe it took me so long to try this place!
Yummymummy
This is very good Thai food as per the other reviews. My only wish is that the portions were bigger. Highly recommend.
Kim Allen
Delicious Thai. Fantastic place to get Thai food. Quality of both dine in and takeaway has always been excellent and the service is great. Would highly recommend it.
TheHonestEater84
Try this thai!. I'm not the biggest fan of thai food. I prefer the richer taste of Indian food but Sanook has made me take notice.

The place is basically a cafe. If you want a cosy fine dining experience then you're looking in the wrong place. However if you want quality thai food then you must try this place. We mainly use it as a take away. The pad thai is excellent and the green chicken curry is awesome!

Price wise, it's probably a little pricey considering that it is only a cafe but I don't mind paying a little extra if I know I'm going to get a good meal.

All in all 7/10
Ross Hiller
Can't fault. Great Thai food, fresh and full of flavour.

Pad Thai and green curry were great.

Will be coming back for sure.

Love it!. This place is fresh and yummy I find it a bit pricey but I pay it because I love it.

A Gem In Greenwood. Our group of Six rocked up here Saturday evening at peak time without a booking and not at all expecting to get in as it was virtually packed. Not a problem for them a table for Six was quickly set up outside and we were seated and ordering in less than Five minutes. Would you not like to see that in a few more places around town.
The entrees and mains that followed were fresh authentic Thai dishes prepared in a spotless open Kitchen, with brilliant service right up to the end. No wonder these Guys are so busy. We live miles away but will gladly travel to Greenwood just to eat great Thai here again. One of the best suburban Thai BYO Restaurants you will ever experience.

Fantastic!. Read the reviews on Urban Spoon so thought we'd give it a try. When we arrived we were the only people there, but within no time more and more people arrived. By 6.45 there wasn't one table spare. Glad we booked. Our order was taken quickly and our meal arrived promptly. We ordered the Curry puffs and Chicken Wings for entree and Crispy Chicken, Massan Beef Curry and Roast Duck Curry with rice for main meals. We were absolutely delighted and were eager to take the leftovers home.
While we were sitting there, it became very noticeable how popular this place is. They had heaps of people coming in for takeaway with prompt service.
We were very happy with the friendly service and overall experience. Will definitely be going back.

A hidden gem. Next to the shops and not fancy, it doesn't look like much but the food makes up for it. Absolutely delicious, middle of the road prices and a friendly waitress. Would definitely return.
Jay Boy Sirisuwannakul
Highly recommend to try their crispy chilli chicken and the thai omelette. Sanook is our favourite local Thai and never disappoints!
James
The dishes were mainly salted.
Over-priced

Where is the love. I had the misfortune to dine at this restaurant after reading glowing reviews from urbanspoon, and what a let down! The place reminded me so much of "wok in the box" with production line cooking and precisely measured ingredients cooked by robots.
Come on
That's not cooking
So not impressed
JayGee
Poor service - the girl that took our order looked like she didn't want to be there at all, didn't have a good attitude.
Overpriced - as far as Thai food goes, this is considered overpriced for food that isn't actually that good.
Quantity > quality - yes, they were big serves of utterly uninspiring food, to the point that we actually told ourselves never to go back.

We ordered the chicken cashew nut (chicken was overcooked and tough), beef panang curry (tasted like jerky in panang curry sayce) and pad thai (absolutely tasteless, nothing even remotely like pad thai).

I love Thai food, (working for a Thai company does have some perks) and have Thai food every week at different places, this is just about the worst Thai restaurant I've ever been to.

For the prices they're pitching their menu items at, I expected so much better.
Plum
Duck Curry and Massaman Curry- very delicious and moorish! Love it!

LOVE IT. We have Sanook every Sunday! Shows how much we love it :)
Plus the spring rolls are just simply amazing!

Simply the best!!!!!!!!!!!!. We had Green curry and pad thai. it tasted sooooooooo real and not too spicy too. its the best Thai outside Thailand!!
Kat
Fresh and delicious, we had the scallop entree, duck curry and sweet and sour prawns (can't remember the proper names!) All really tasty, the favourite was the duck! You can watch the chefs cooking your meal in the glass walled kitchen! Recommended, we will definitely be back. Good idea to book a table.

I've just finished eating my tofu & vegetable stir fry and it was DELICIOUS! I explained that I am a vegan and they catered to my requirements without compromising on taste. Definitely the bed Thai I've had!!

Previous reviews about this place baffle me. This was quite possibly the worst Thai food I've ever eaten. The green curry was too salty and it didn't taste like they'd used fish sauce at all. It tasted more like they'd poured a big whack of saxa table salt in there. My taste buds were crying out for palm sugar but alas, not even a hint of sweetness. On a positive note, the young lady who took my order over the phone was delightful.

Great Dining Experience. I went to Sanook Thai Cafe for the 1st time on Friday. My friends and I shared a few dishes.

For Entree, we had the Curry Puffs, Springrolls and Garlic and Coriander Scallops.

We also had the Tom Yum Soup (Seafood), the Sanook Fried Rice, Pad Thay and the Crispy Chilil Chicken.

I really enjoyed the dishes though I wish the Tom Yum soup could be a little spicier. The soup was not a clear Tom Yum but looked a little creamy, which was quite nice. Both the Pad Thai and Sanook Fried Rice were both well-seasoned and full of ingredients.

The best dish for me was the Crispy Chili Chicken. The batter was light and airy and the chicken well cooked. I couldn't stop eating it enough though I was full.

The dishes we chose were low on the spice on the menu. There are much spicier dishes which I hope to try
when I bring my partner. I think he's probably going to try the Jungle curry - the hottest on the menu!

Overall, it was a very pleasant dining experience and I would recommend it to anyone to at least try it once!

The Beef salad was excellent, a must!

Always fresh, tasty & clean!. Best Thai in town! Love the newly refurbished look, very inviting for people to dine-in. Also love the displays of fresh vegetables & meat and how everything is cooked right in front of you!

We have also ordered take-aways many times, and find that the taste &freshness is very consistent. The wait is never too long as well...even on a busy Friday or Saturday night. Love Love Love Sanook!!

Simply the BEST!!!!. Sanook Thai is the BEST thai restaurant. The food is fantastic, fresh and tasty. The service your receive from all the staff is great with all staff friendly and informative. I have been going to Sanook Thai for years and wouldn't think of going anywhere else for my Thai fix, including Thailand. Jay and Jay and all the wonderful staff always make you feel welcome, it's like going home for dinner

Discovered this restaurant by chance using "near by" on Urbanspoon what a find! All dishes were fresh and tasty we will definitely be back again

Small but Sensational. We eat here regularly, both dine in & take away. Food is consistently good, & the service fast & friendly. Definitely a must try if you`re a Thai fan !

Best thai food for the low price. My GF and I always visit sanook as it is local to our area. We love it there, the staff are so friendly and all the dishes are packed with flavor. We cant decide which dish is our favorite because we are always changing and trying different things.
I highly recommend this for a good Thai Feast
Good Service Is A MUST
BEST THAI in PERTH. I have eaten here several times. I rave about it, friends rave about and work colleagues rave about it. It is fresh, tasty and quick. It is a family run business who provide quality service as well as food. The food is cooked right in front of you and the cooking area is always so clean and organised.

There hasn't been a dish that hasn't 'knocked my socks off'!!!

The price is fair for the size and freshness of each dish.I also love how they don't have a set desert menu, instead they have different deserts on offer depending on what's available.

Honestly it is the best thai food outside of Thailand itself...

Love it love it love it......
Shazza
MMMMmmmmm. Scrummy.....yummmmy n always fresh! Fab thai food, never lets us down, keep it up and don't change a thing. We LOVE it!!!

It leaves me a good feeling after having dinner there. It is very lovely to see another group of Thai people doing the right thing and reaching that level of standard. Keep doing guys I am cheering you up!
