Review Padburys Cafe Restaurant - Guildford

Holly Not-so-Bland
Delicious!! Finally got around to trying Padbury's signature dish, the lemon curd, meringue pancakes- and now I know what all the fuss is about!!! Such a perfect combination, looks amazing and tastes amazing, not overly sweet either! Generous servings! Also...everything goes better with a glass of sparkling wine. 😁👌🏼 Beautiful spot (try get a window seat), great coffee, good service as well as being reasonably priced!! Definitely book ahead- online is easiest!

Came here for brunch. Amazing experience. Emma runs the show and ensures the quality is maintained. The other staff are also friendly and we did not mind the 20 min or so wait for the food. The ambiance is amazing, it has a rustic old world charm about it. And the food...simply glorious. We had the big breakfast, and the lemon pancakes, and Paddy's Benedict. All were superb. I was particularly impressed how juicy and succulent the tiny pork sausages were. The portions are satisfying without being overwhelming. Taste wise, easily 9 out of 10. The best secret are the softest cinnamon rolls in the Universe! We will certainly be back for more. Nash Bhullar on the 13th of July 2022

Love linguine as always. Bagel with egg was good, but smoked salmon was not fresh by the look of colour. Pancake, which was well decorated and attractive but overly sweetened... And wish they prepare suitable sized straw for smoothies as pieces of granola got stuck at the end…

Located in a beautiful historic building in Guildford the Padbury makes for a fantastic place to take the family for breakfast. All staff were very friendly and welcoming delivering fast service with both drinks and food coming out super quick. The Meringue Munro Pancakes were delicious, with the curd helping to cut through the overload of sugar of the meringue - I'm waiting for the sugar high to kick in :)

perfect for sunday brunch catch up with friends! the magic mushrooms dish was scrumptious and generously served. only recommendation would be to have table serve because there are long waits when lining up to order when it’s busy

Breakfast was Good. Pancakes was too sweet. The garlic prawn was excellent and juices were Great

Went for brunch with bestie. The lemon pancake is definitely the highlight and a must try! I personally don't like souffle pancake like with heavy eggy tastes but this one is so yum! No eggy taste at all. Very light, fluffly and not overly sweet. The lemon curd compliment well. Highly recommended!!!

The atmosphere was inviting and warm complimented by the friendly staff, we got a couple of juices which were delicious and I got the prawn omelette with the crispy pancake it was amazing, the chilli jam on top was the perfect accompaniment, the crispy pancake on top went perfectly with the omelette which was full of juicy prawns. I couldn’t help but get a couple of caramel cream donuts on the way out I mean how could you not! And I wasn’t disappointed, I’ll definitely be back.

Having been to the restaurant a few times before and really liked the food, this morning though was the worst breakfast I have had in a long time. Bacon was just little strips, toast was burnt, the plates were full of water from the wilted spinach, the sausage was tasteless and over all for $25 there wasn’t anything good to say about the meal. What made it worse after letting the staff person how bad the meal was all we got was ‘we are very busy’ and that was it. Won’t be back and will be letting everyone I can how bad the breakfast was.

I went back to Padbury yesterday for lunch with my colleagues .. it's must be four years ago since I last ate here with my late husband .. we ordered chilli mussel .. it's the best I had eaten anywhere here in Perth - the sauce is so thick not runny like most places and very tasty .. for main we orders the special of the day : risottos with salmon .. amazingly scrumptious .. every mouth to die for .. creamy... tasty and salmon was cooked to perfection .. the other main we had was the pork belly with apple slaw .. it's was really nice with the skin so crispy and the salad goes very well with it .. we couldn't fit any desert but definitely cone back again to try some other dishes ..the staff was very attentive .. great food knowledge of what's they serving and friendly too

Thanks to the staff of Padbury’s for a great night as we celebrated our friends surprise 60th birthday! Great food, friendly service by all the staff & thank you for Liz’s birthday cake it was amazing!! Highly recommend Padbury’s!

Went for lunch on Sat. Very dissapointed. Calling a bunch of leaves on a plate with a drizzle of dressing is NOT a salad. It is purely garnish Friend who is a vegetarian had the pumpkin salad which included feta snd pear. Tiny slivers of pear and a bit of feta sprinckled over the top. Very uninspiring. Service was also very bad. Had to ask to have dirty dishes removed and to get the sweets dessert. 3 trys they had at making a extra hot cappuccino. Each time I said extra hot. First one I drank just warm. 2nd coffee with dessert was again just warm so sent i t back and asked again could I please have an extra hot cappuccino. Finaly on the 3rd try they got it right. Shouldnt have to do that. Very dissapointed. Have been lots of time but will think twice about the next time.

Went here for my birthday lunch with my family. The cafe is beautiful and we had a great time. Their pancakes looks so amazing and the staff were so lovely to organise a serve for me for lunch. The coffee was great too.

One of the best breakfasts I’ve had since moving to Perth 3 years ago! Definitely going back on a regular basis! Amazing staff and beautiful building!
Poppy Mallon
Food was lovely but if you wanted a coffee after 2.00 pm you are out of luck. Some of the staff were a bit short when you wanted to ask for something. I realise that hey are busy but its the way they responded.

Fantastic service last night and the food was exceptional. We were even treated to a special anniversary message on our dessert plate which was a pleasant surprise. Definitely worth a visit!

Dinner - Food took to long, Small meal portion sizing, expensive and unnecessary cake corkage!
Carla Bacchion - italiano
Wow been for breakfast but the dinner was amazing the purĂŠes on all dishes was cold but didn't mind it this is a must to go back The men loved the 3 whiskey and 3 truffle dessert

The Caesar salad was amazing for lunch light yet filling. The open salad sandwich was a little underwhelming but over all service was fantastic and great atmosphere. Love this place.

Fabulous breakfast, even though we didn’t book they found us a table quickly. Service was wonderful

One of the best restaurants around! Superb food (sizzling tiger prawns were amazing!) and such delightful service. This was our first visit for almost 5y, certainly won't be waiting that long to return!
Karen
Loved everything about our meal, the menu is uncomplicated but every dish was delicious and perfectly cooked. The two wait staff that were working, one guy and one girl were exceptionally good. My special dietary requirements were easily catered for and the staff were knowledgeable. The decor is lovely, lots of exposed timber, warm brick, candles and plants. Looking forward to coming back!

The customer service is so hit and miss at Padburys.
If you forget to book don’t expect to be treated with any respect. I am a local in Guildford and have had a few negative experiences. This morning topped it for me when the female wait staff was quite rude about organising a table for me for 4 people. Whilst a customer in front of me who booked last minute and which was not even received in time by the restaurant to organise a booking was treated completely differently. Her booking was also for 8 people- and seemed to be easily accommodated for. I was not asking for much- just to wipe down the water or problem solve the outside seating which was mostly unoccupied.
Had I known I would have been treated like this I would have stuck to my usual choice - Willing cafe next door. The go to- the service is exceptional and their coffee is outstanding.

We always enjoy coming here! Modern Australian food in a beautiful historical building. We walked in on a super busy morning post COVID restrictions and the staff were very accomodating. I had the hash brown breakfast which was nice and light but filling. Hubby had the two sliders which he enjoyed and has left him with a soft shell crab obsession! Hot drinks here are always good too and it seems they have a nice selection for a tipple with lunch. We are looking forward to next time. Keep up the good work guys!

One of the male waiters was extremely rude on both occasions that we went to Padburys. We ended up leaving 5 minutes after finding a seat. Disgusting service, he should not be working there.

Service is great. My partner loved the seafood chowder when we came, and he’s been begging for us to go back again! I ordered the gnocchi and loved it. I usually come here for the breakfast menu, so this was the first time having lunch here and I wasn’t disappointed.
Kevin Clark
First impressions were great as we were offered a lovely seat by the bay windows. The service from our waitress was top notch as she offered us water and even asked if we wanted the aircon turned on as we sat down. It was a warm day and she could tell we’ve just been walking a lot.

We had the garlic tiger prawns and pumpkin salad (+chicken) to share for lunch. Both were decent portions, presented well and tasted great.

Will definitely be back again.
Paul
Been there a few times and never disappoints! Good good and service! Highly recommended! Friendly staff and they are going out of their way to accommodate any requests!
Annabelle
The venue itself is very nice. The food though is overpriced, small servings and below average - so oily. Location is lovely and their private carpark is a bonus.

Great little place in guilford, the atmosphere is fantastic, staff are all very helpful and friendly. The food is delicious, especially the buttermilk pancakes and the coffee here is also good. Have been back here a few times and will continue to do so.

Wow so good! We've eaten at some of the top Michelin starred restaurants in the world and think the quality of Padbury's food has consistently kept up. Amazing food for both breakfast and dinner. Highly recommended!!!

Pictured: breakfast
prawn omelettes with crispy tumeric crepe
lemon meringue pancakes

Quick and efficient service, good location with interesting breakfast options as well as good coffee.
We had the hash brown with poached eggs the cooking technique was well executed.
We also tried the Thai inspired tamarind crepes with prawn omelette, it was surprisingly good though I would have liked a little more chilli!
This made me so sad, I had such high hopes for this beautiful little place but ended up waiting an hour only to be served over cooked eggs and brought the wrong drink. Devastated.
Food For Thought..
Gorgeous little cafe /restaurant on the terrace in Guildford. Pretty outdoor seating set amongst flowering pots, with almost a European feel. Great service and friendly staff . Very nice coffee with quality soy milk and good temperature and texture. Sticky date pudding excellent and a nice selection of desserts. Impressive menu so I look forward to coming back to try more.

We went mid week for breakfast. Breakfast was nice and tasty, the coffee was bang on! The almond milk latte tastes like I imagine heaven does. Service was lacking in some aspects but overall a pleasant breakfast.
The Ponder Room
With the colder months around the corner it’s good to time a cosy restaurant. Guildford has a number to pick from. We ended up at Padbury’s Cafe, in a cute window section which felt like our own private space. Padbury’s is part of a beautiful old building and a trip to the toilets opens up some interesting historical features. I’ll leave them for you to find.
Gypsymamma125
Service was great until I complained about my meal, what I ordered is not what I got, totally different vegetables, fish was well over cooked. oh - sorry!!! After that service was only as required and I don't recall being asked if I enjoyed my meal.... Funny thing is it is usually something that waitstaff always check when they clear away your plates. Really - if you put something on your menu and serve your patrons something else don't be surprised when they are disappointed!!! It is not your patrons fault if you have put the incorrect leaflet into the menu. Wont be rushing back any time soon.

Very good. Value for money. I think the pasta is made on the premises as better than any Italian restaurant locally. Prawns in garlic excellent. Sweets beautiful.

We love this place, the food, the decor and for most part, the service. Up until last night, we had only ever dined at Padburys for breakfast and lunch. We had a lovely dinner last night, the food was tasty and very well presented. Compliments to the chef!
My only small complaint is that I made this reservation online, 4 days prior and in the special request section, I asked that if available, could I please request one of the very front tables in the alcove. Upon arriving the lady showing people to their seats seemed very distracted. When she asked me for my name, I began to reply when suddenly she turned away to look or speak to someone else. I stopped my sentence and waited for a while to have her attention. We thought this was a little rude and I would have expected undivided attention for at least the required 10 seconds. After she received my information, she proceeded to show us to our table in the middle of the restaurant. I then asked if my special request had been noted, she replied by saying that it was not available. This was not a big deal for me however it would have been nice for her to acknowledge and explain this earlier without me having to ask.
I feel this lady needed to exercise a more welcoming and friendly attitude and more attention to detail.
Having said this, we had a great night and will be back.
Bex
Great food. However the dessert I had last time being a creme brûlée was very watery and when we brought this to the staffs attention were told they were not delivering made by the restaurant (so presumably it’s from another supplier and was frozen/refrigerated during transport causing condensation, therefore making the dessert watery)

Update: Despite my single unpleasant dessert experience mentioned above, it has not put us off in returning. We always feel safe with the knowledge that we’d get great food served with a friendly smile each time.
Adam Chidlow
Nice atmosphere. Wait staff weren’t unpleasant.

Ordered a $14 mojito which was 90% ice with barely a few sips of liquid.

Mains for 5 people took over an hour to arrive, were extremely expensive even for Perth. The prosciutto chicken was nice but again, small. There was barely a drizzle of brown mushroom sauce on the paltry mash.

Sticky date pudding again was not bad but was roughly the size of a cup cake and $15.

Overall I would not recommend at all given the price and the sample-like sizing.
Frankie
summer Benedict with hash brown. coffee on arrival and very polite service and making sure everything is ok. the summer Benedict was maybe the best I've had as it has smashed avocado on the bagel too. great idea and combo

The dessert is the highlight of this place. Something you will want to come back and try every single variety. Their food especially dessert is something you will remember a long time. Very quality ingredients.

To us, Guildford is one of those old suburbs that you would fall in love with, because of the fascinating colonial architecture in town. So dinning in Padbury’s, a cafe-cum-restaurant seems to be an absolute right way to get culturally immersed. Being an oldie but a goodie among locals, this is not just about foods. A mix of rustic-inspired and modern-twisted decorations, together with the friendly waiters and waitress in the house, apparently, there’s always a soft spot for them.

Classic old Guildford decor with modern cuisine. Busy, Noisy but excellent service.
Flat white & Matcha latte was silky smooth and creamy with right temperature.
Well done steak sandwich ....should call open steak sandwich was OK.
Home made Gnocchi not the standard what I expect so was disappointed.
Dropped in for breakfast. Food was good as was the service. Will try a lunch or evening meal later
Venue was previously a store selling mining equipment then later a second hand shop. Interesting!!

Excellent decor, lovely old world feel, service, food and coffee very good, very popular place, although please acquire new high chairs for infants, the present ones are prone to collapse without warning.
Oliviatrtwn
We went there for dinner for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it. Ambience of the place is very romantic, rusty and nice. Meals are delicious and could tell they use high quality products. Waiters are attentive and couldn't fault anything at all. Will come back for more!

I have attended this restaurant numerous times over the years. Most recently I attended in August 2017 as a party of 5 for my mother's birthday. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the quality of staff and fluidity has improved during this visit. It was very busy on a Friday and we were waited on promptly. Unfortunately we booked in on a night where a new menu was being introduced and it took an hour and a half to receive our meals but luckily it was worth the wait. Small teething errors is not a deterrent and I look forward to my next meal at Padburys.
Nick Latham
Every time I have been here whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner; I have been impressed by the quality of the food and ambience of the restaurant. The service is generally good but can be improved. I Highly rate this place and will definitely be going back again and again.

Hidden little treasure. Our new local ☕️

We just love this place!
The staff are efficient, the coffee is on point 👌🏼
Portion size is good, taste is great.

A warm and cozy environment with a heritage/modern layout. You can't beat this hidden little treasure for a reasonably priced breaky on a Sunday morning.

Love, love, LOVE!
Came here on a booking made by a friend and was not disappointed. The food was delicious. There was a large group of us and everyone really enjoyed their meal, except one who had a minor complaint about the balsamic vinegar that came with her olives, but the staff were quick to bring out some more and appease her concerns. Only one minor complaint would be that towards the end of service we struggled to get served drinks and had to try and wave over staff. All round a very pleasant ambience and food so we will be back

Had a really lovely, long dinner here on a whim! While picking my husband up from the Woody on a blustery night we decided to grab a cheeky Guildford dinner and Padbury's found us a table (they were packed). We stayed for two hours, had entree, main & dessert - Chorizo plate, Pumpkin Gnocchi & Seafood Risotto, Chocolate Fondant.
All the food was impeccable, fresh, rustic, flavoursome, no stodgey 80's pasta here! Very enjoyable. Service was pleasant, but with a long wait for food (which was fine, as I said they were absolutely PACKED and we would have been some of the last seated) it was really hard to get a refill on drinks (no water left on the table either, just a small glass that the waiter refilled each time). As a pregnant lady with a bad cough I was parched and desperate for SOMETHING to drink! Please leave a carafe on the table like most restaurants do these days.

We had breakfast at Padbury's this morning. I was expecting more interesting dishes on menu but nothing really outstanding. Hubby picked Padbury Hash, I had (Scrambled) Eggs on Toast with extra Chorizo. We also ordered the Matcha Smoothie. Each dish costs $19, but portions were on smaller side. My Scrambled Eggs & Soudough were nice, Greens need dressing, Spice Tomato Relish was so so so little like didnt exist. $5 extra for Chorizo was worth it, it's good. Hubby's Hash was great, I liked it. Poached Eggs well done, Bacon ok, again Spice Tomato Relish was too little and unappealing Greens. Unfortunately the highlight of the day wasnt the food but the Matcha Smoothie instead. The combination of Matcha, Spinach, Pear, Pistachio & Soy Milk made it taste like Avocado Juice we often have back home! Service was really good and efficient. Would we go back to Padbury's? Yes, but wont rush it.
Stuart Ridgway
Have been here a couple of times since the renovation and have been impressed. Service is friendly and prompt and the menu delivers a well balanced offering and the food itself is spot on. Wine and beer list is not dramatic but has some solid names to go with the food.

Visited here on 17/03/17 for brunch. I had the Sweetcorn and Feta Fritter and my dining partner had the Buttermilk Pancakes. The fritter was delicious, although possibly a little overcooked as although it was super crunchy, this made it actually quite difficult to cut and it was a very dark brown colour. Beautiful presentation and flavours were lovely. Glad I got a side of the house-made beans as I was a little disappointed with the portion size. My friend's pancakes were beautiful - the lemon curd and meringue had it tasting like a lemon meringue pie! The only downsides were our food came out lukewarm (although we were hungry and didn't care enough to mention it to to the waitress), and the service was a little harried and forgetful (looked to be just the one waitress serving everyone on a Friday morn!). We waited a while to order and then our drinks (juice and smoothie) ended up coming after we had finished our food. In summary, average portion sizes and prices a little on the high side, but very tasty food and the ambience/atmosphere is lovely.
Truth Be Told Australia
Really really impressed with this cute cafe in Guilford . We don't normally come this side of town often and can't believe how many quaint cafes there are. She had the fish & chips and they were sensational, golden, crunchy light . YUM, and mum never eats salad and she even devoured that 👏🏻👏🏻I had the beef slider, and again it was amazing , moistly cooked to perfection and chips fresh and crunchy. Half a point loss because we waited approx 10mins before we were served and that's not due to bad service just understaffed . Can't wait to return 😀
MSG Foodie
Fine food with fine service. Went here for lunch and wedding dinner. Both doesn't disappoint!
Dessert platter is so good. Fillet is one of the best.
Would come back for more!!
Helena the owner is the most helpful owner.. Wedding was successful and it's so easy to cooperate with her. Highly recommended!! Venue is rustic and romantic.
The Go Go Mumma
Another last minute find. Whilst we weren't initially intending to dine here, we were instantly drawn to its beautiful shop front, ambient warm lighting and not to forget it's tantalizing menu! The restaurant has a large selection of seafood delights along with a few meaty alternatives too. Being an avid seafood fan, I was in paradise with the selection. However, I just couldn't go past the slow cooked beef cheek with creamy polenta and heirloom vegetables - A buttery melt in your mouth all round goodness. It was the perfect meal for a cold, wet February day. The restaurant is nestled within a beautiful heritage building, with a rustic industrial fit out. A perfect Romantic spot for two or a gathering of good friends... whatever your reason or occasion to dine out, you won't be disappointed!

Decided to book for dinner on Valentines Day seeing it was only a walk up the road from home. Extremely disappointing! Arrived at last sitting (7.30pm) to wait 15 minutes for drink orders to arrive. Did not order entrees but ordered main only, which arrived 1 hour later. Waiters kept apologising for the delay. Meal eventually arrived and the Harvey Eye Fillet ordered as 'blue" arrived grey with some red in the middle. Fillet had an unusual taste and smell and could not be eaten. Unpleasant to say the least. Mashed potato served with prosciutto wrapped chicken was bland and spoilt rest of meal. A total let down on a special night.
The Breakfast Confidential
Sitting on the door step of the Swan Valley is historical Guildford. Did that sentence make you feel like Guildford sounded really far away? It’s not. It’s only around 15km from the city, so you won’t need a packed lunch for the trip out! It’s a beautiful suburb… but I may be a bit bias because I live there.
Paige Ashley Coutts
Food was incredible! And the staff were all so lovely and attentive - especially Chris who served us! 10/10 will go there again, such a great find
Coffee Addict
Went to this place on a new year day. Waited for sometime for the table order but worth the wait! Coffee was amazing! Super moist and fluffy pancakes! Nicely decorated and relaxing environment! Will definitely be back again!
Daniel Beresford-Long
We waited for 10 minutes to be seated, then a further 10 minutes without anyone saying a word to us. Shortly afterwards another party showed up which one of the waitstaff knew by name. They were seated immediately, provided with water and had their order taken. After almost 30 minutes we still received no service and left. Would not go back.

A great little place for a meal. Breakfast was nice and went down a treat. Coffee was excellent and hot. Will be worth a second visit. Glad this place had good aircon also.

I had dinner at Padbury's last night with my partner and the food was delicious... service was average.

We started with the sour dough and pumpkin dip. For $10 we got 2 slices of luke warm sour dough, a tiny pot of pumpkin dip and no butter... do I need to say more? My partner also had some oysters which he enjoyed.

For mains I had the grilled prawn salad from the entree menu and he had the pan friend duck. Both of these dishes were gorgeous and I can't fault either of them. The prawns were fresh, well cooked and clean... which is a big thing for me because I hate when the poop vein hasn't been removed! The duck was also beautiful and the sides it came with were perfect.

We had the panna cotta for dessert and again, it was delicious, the rum raisins and raspberry coulis were perfect with it.

Overall we had a lovely dinner, the building is beautiful and we will definitely be back.

The biggest downfall was the service... when we arrived they couldn't find our booking and left us waiting for a while then questioned whether we had actually booked. Then after entree, I put the knife I'd used for my dip and bread on the bread plate to be taken away and the waitress removed it then placed my dirty knife back in place in front of me. A few of the waitresses weren't overly friendly but the food was good enough to look past these few little things.

Classy place with very well mannered staff. I had the prosciutto wrapped chicken breast with stuffing, delicious! Also gave a great wine recommendation, which I have now forgotten!
Carolbateman1958
Dropped in on a Thursday night for dinner. We were seated quickly and the staff were friendly and efficient. Our meal arrived in good time and was delicious. We will definitely be back.

Quite a big gourmet cafe in Guildford, great food. I thought the seafood Aranchini balls were exquisite and the pork belly looked impressive. My open scotch sandwich was quite good, big and interesting to mix cheese and bacon.
Livaus
Nice atmosphere, good service, well done food, decent wine list. Good for both big meal (think rack of lamb on mash) and share plates (sizzling garlic prawns, yum). Popular for birthday dinners and catchups with old friends.
Chris
The steak was cooked perfectly. Great service and at just the right timing. Perfect portion sizes. Nice ambiance sitting in the front window watching the world go by.
BerriesnChia
Went there for breakfast on Saturday. Ordered the granola and big brekky. Excellent food, well presented and fantastic coffee. Good service but can be a bit slow when busy. The house hashrosti is a must try!
Debbie Bernardo
Went to dinner with 4 others on a Friday. Service and Food were great. It was really one of the better dining experiences I had in Perth for a long time.
Nick Marangelis
A avenge large takeaway capachimo coffee for $6.50, really! What makes this coffee
worth $1.50 more than a boutique Sydney coffee shop

Lauren Kate
Have been here in the past for a beautiful breakfast. Went here today for lunch with family.. ordered open steak sandwich which had really tough steak.. bacon, bread and salad were good, but the steak was a definite let down. also ordered the baby calamari which was a lot of calamari and not alot of salad or citrus to cut through all the deep fried goodness.. final dish we ordered was the prawn and avocado salad, was large and very tasty.
Lyn R
We had a great evening at Padbury's, the 4 of us enjoyed the dishes we had, rack of lamb, lamb shank, barramundi & nochie! Sticky date pudding was also lovely & best of all we could sit and have a pleasant conversation without straining to hear! Lovely setting! We all agreed we'd return soon!
Mmmfood
We love Padburys for a quiet dinner for two and also family birthday get togethers. The food never disappoints and the staff are always friendly.
Joe Cordina
Loved the meal , just a suggestion with chicken stuffed prochetto , could you add olives instead of dates, had a great time, wonderful , Mick
The Taste Bud
Cute spot in Guildford for a meal or coffee and cake. Gorgeous gift shop next door too. We had a Pine Nut Salad and Caesar Salad for lunch today, topped off by some fresh Churros! Very friendly and attentive staff. Will definitely be back to try the breaky menu.
Ashleigh Jayne
Recently dined here for a special occasion. The staff are wonderfully mannered and very friendly, really help make the night more enjoyable. Lovely menu with great choices. I believe the prawns were a little over cooked, but they were very flavorsome. I enjoyed the duck immensely, and the duck pudding was flawless. Great evening enjoyed by all. Will be dining here again

We thoroughly enjoyed out meal at Padbury's. The food and service were fantastic. However they've lost a star for the rude note left on one of our party's car saying that the car park was only for Padbury's patrons and not for the use of other restaurants( and it was written in Padbury's letterhead paper!). How they decided her car and the other car which also had it under their wiper were not Padbury's patrons I don't know as she was definitely with us! This was a very disappointing and quite frankly offensive end to an otherwise fantastic experience and it has cost stars - this would have been a 5 star review otherwise.

I came to Guildford hoping to get a table at Kappy's at the last minute. Of course they were booked out. Disappointed my partner and I walked into Padbury (one other place that's in the Entertainment Book on the street).

What a mistake that was! We were seated fairly immediately by the maitre d'.

My partner and I ordered the Chef Chorizo as an entree, duck dish and seafood risotto (special for the day) for mains as well as a bottle of red.

The entree was exciting with many antipasto to choose from but we were given measly two slices of bread to go with. Considering we paid $19.50 it is not good enough. Plus the wait staff forgot about the wine and it was only after we queried did they bring it out - by then we had finished eating our entree.

The Duck dish came with only three slices of meat (which was not enough for my partner and definitely not worth $33.50). My risotto was a fairly large serving size but it was swimming in stock. It was more like an Asian congee than a risotto. There were variety of seafood, 3 x clam, 3 x prawns and small handful of octopus and squids.

Overall I will never be coming back here again and will be sticking with Kappy's. I noticed through the kitchen window that the staff are all Asian. Maybe they haven't been given an adequate training on western cuisine?
Melissa
Had a beautiful meal here. Quaint restaurant, staff were friendly and attentive. The food was great. Both of us had the fillet steak which was cooked perfectly. Cannot wait to go back.
Ruth Paley
Loved it. Fresh, quality produce cooked perfectly. Shared entree of prawns which was 4 big prawns in their shells in a dish of hot butter and garlic sauce with fresh bread for dipping. Chorizo, feta and olives share plate with fresh bread and spicy eggplant chutney all fresh and tasty.
Mains were even better; melt in the mouth Rib eye fillet, lamb shank falling off the bone, perfectly pink duck and beautiful barramundi. Every one amazing. Each came with a good serve of veggies or potato or salad. Nothing additional required. Great wine list, small but good selection of local wines by the glass or bottle well priced. So so good all 4 of us agreed it was the best meal we have had in a long long time.
Kerry F
Another lovely offering in our end of town, gives us an atmospheric option without the city or Mt Lawley type traffic hassles. Generous portions and the chocolate fondant will stop any choc-fiend in their tracks.
Travis O'Reilly
Little Guildford was just too busy for breakfast so we tried somewhere else and Padburys was great!

We sat in the front window which at first felt like we were on display to the world, but after a moment it actually felt really neat.
While it is a little on the pricey side for breakfast, both of our meals were really well presented, plentiful and tasted amazing.

My only wish is that they had a bigger coffee size :)

I will be visiting here more often!

Really glad I came back here after more than a decade! We were the first ones in, and were seated in the window which was warm enough on this wintery night. I must say the service was spot on. Well done girls! It's not a cheap establishment, but I must say it is good value. The food is of excellent quality. The chef knows how to give you what you ask for when it comes to a medium rare eye fillet. I enjoyed the choice of wine, it's nice to have access to the local swan valley and more. Unfortunately it took a while for music to kick in, and when it did it was just easy listening top 40 type stuff. Overall though, would come back again!

Also, if you check-in via their facebook page you can receive a 5% discount of the bill :)

Four of us had a lovely lunch at Padbury's today. The fish and chips was very nice and well presented. Calamari on an extremely cold plate of salad was a little average. The open steak sandwich was also well presented. Sweets of Banoffee pie and Lemon Meringue were delicious although you needed a hammer to negotiate the crusts of both. We would go back!

Exemplary!!. An absolute gem. The friendly, efficient, attentive but not intrusive service on a very busy Saturday lunchtime did not falter and our table of 9, a family group celebrating a birthday were, without exception, extremely impressed with every aspect of our experience, an experience we look forward to repeating soon. It will become our 'go to' restaurant!

The quality and presentation of all dishes ordered were equal to any of the better places in Town..an absolutely delightful dining experience. Thank you to all the Team at Padbury's...see you again soon!

Yummy Churros! Exceptional Service 10/10. Went Sunday Arvo for a late lunch. Very happy, polite and efficient service. Great lunch, came out quickly and good coffee too. Even the owner came out and checked how we were! Highly recommend the Churros! The white Chocolate dipping sauce was perfect!! Good on you Chef!

Modest fare. Friendly service, clean toilets, not too long to wait for our meals, lovely variety of juices. I enjoyed the spinach and pine nut salad.

Breakfast delight, well worth the visit.. We have driven past this pleasant looking cafe restaurant many times and finally got round to trying the breakfast this morning. Now we're sorry we didn't do that ages ago! Not sure why this place is quiet compared to the more trendy place just around the corner but that suited us nicely. Staff greeted us and we were offered a window table which was fun, we watched the passing parade and I guess they checked us out! I had the croquettes (which looked more like arancini balls) and my wife had the eggs Benedict, to drink I ordered a short Mac topped up and a Japanese tea went with the eggs b.
Both meals were well presented and really (no, really) great. Good size portions of fresh, well cooked produce, we both thoroughly enjoyed the food. My coffee was well made and tasted smooth, just they way I like it. The Tea was made with real tea, not the teabag most places throw in and pretend it's the right stuff.
We thought the prices were fair and reasonable, we've had a lot less for a lot more at other cafes in Perth.
The young lady that served us was friendly, polite and efficient, there are a lot a wait staff that could learn a lesson here.
OK, it was "just a breakfast" but it will definitely get us back for more. The lunch and dinner menus looked good, we plan to give them a go soon.

$16 for two pieces of cake takeaway?!?! Ridiculous

Pretty good overall. Had a nice prawn and avocado salad. I love sitting at the tables in one of the bay windows! Only really poor thing was having the bread with trio of dips... one of the 'dips' is cream cheese. Come on, people, throw some sundried tomatoes in with it and you have a dip, but cream cheese alone does not a dip make!!! Other than that, pretty good and pricing pretty good too.

Diner from perth. Lunch was very disappointing. Had four goes at trying to order from the blackboard and menus. Nothing seemed to be available. Same with the wine that we ordered. Had to pick something else. Meals were small and expensive. If we hadn't already started the bottle of bubbles we ordered first off, I think we would have left and gone somewhere else.

Amazing food, great menu, attentive staff - will definitely be back!

Had a tasty breakfast here. When in guildford we have always gone to little guildford around the corner but this morn decided to give padburys a go as we had heard it had changed hands since friends last went (unfavorable experience). We were hoping the competition next door meant they would be good too. Whilst I have to say that the plates when placed in front of you don't look anything special - the flavours and quality were spot on - sauces, seasoning, bread, and produce. It tasted much better than it looked (which is the main thing right!). Staff were friendly and my partner and I agreed we would both come back for breakfast again. having heard they might be doing high teas i would be willing to see what that was like too.

Friendly service. We came here for coffee and the service was very friendly and the coffee was delicious. The building was also very nice.

Lovely Food and Service. We had a small family dinner at Padburys and it was fantastic! The meals were delicious, quite large and seasoned to perfection. Our entre's took a little long to arrive but the rest of the meals were timed perfectly, we didnt feel rushed and still had time for a short chat between. Next time we are in the Eastern suburbs we will definatley visit again just fantastic!

One of the best restaurants I've been to for some time. The service was warm, welcoming and competent (especially the maitre'd). The food was beautifully cooked and presented. Absolutely delicious. Highly recommend. We will be back. A gem.

Amazing food, warm atmosphere and friendly staff. We have lived in the swan area for years and come to Padbury's at least every second week! Is our absolute favourite. The food is incredible and excellent service! The owner's are so generous and kind, they remember your names and always make you feel welcome at their restaurant. They take the time to make sure you are happy and would go out of their way for you. Best restaurant in Guildford/swan area!

Padbury's. Can't recommend highly enough! We booked for a group of 23 for our son's 21st birthday and had a wonderful night. The food was delicious, including a magnificent birthday cake which we'd ordered and was made onsite. We were hugely impressed by manager Helena's personal efforts in doing everything she could to make the night memorable. She seemed to really care that the occasion be a special one. Extra touches included free sparkling wine for every guest so that we could toast the birthday boy! We will return there whenever we have an occasion to celebrate.

Average. Their "famous" chocolate fondant was one of the worst ive ever had, totally bland and very disappointing...

Padburys cafe. This restaurant had a very arrogant chef, the food wasn't very good at all. The prawns were not frets at all. Padburys is only good for a coffee, not for lunch... Very disappointed

Padbury's has always been hit and miss. Tonight it was a delightful hit.

The entree of Turkish bread and dips was well presented and very tasty. Our mains were the pork, lamb, steak and chicken breast. All were beautifully presented and delicious. The three desserts were also a hit.

My only criticism was that we were never asked if we needed more drinks (we did) but we were too involved in eating to worry too much.

Overall a tasty and satisfying meal.

Good Food. Went there with friends on a Friday evening.

The waiting staff were very good and professional.

We dine out regularly and I must say we all had one of the best meals for a long time.( Would certainly recommend the Barramundi) . The food was prepared and presented perfectly . Will be going back again

Yes it was a good meal ... But certain things have changed my mind and left a bad impression on my mind and a awful taste in my mouth ...

The entree squid was nice ... Cooked well .. The main lamb rack was small and not full filling enough ... I was still hungry after mains.... The staff were bit pathetic .. Taking in the middle of the reastaurant whislt people were trying to signal them .. But besides that the food was ok ....

This is one of the most greatest services I have always received from a perth cafe ever.Best food quality and presentation and fantastic atmosphere. I would recommend this to everyone, Don't know why I hear so many negative reviews here but Its one to beat. Best for Dinner or a Luncheon with a friend

Food took over an hour and it wasn't even busy, a serve of pancakes for a 4 year old took an hour and a half. Rude staff who kept robotically saying sorry for the wait as though it happens all the time.
First and last time for me.
Alex
We came here for breakfast. It was ok... The coffee was really bad and the breaky was... Just pretty good

Very very ordinary. The steak appeared to have been reheated and the service was terrible . It used to be such a great restaurant a few years ago but sadly has gone downhill fast. I won't be going back anytime soon.

Disappointed. We have been dining on and off at Padbury's for around 20 years. I assume there are new owners who have let standards drop. The service was very, very poor. The male waiter never listened when he was taking our order and I was served an entrĂŠe sized meal when I had ordered a main. My wife asked the female waiter for a finger bowl(she was having prawns in their shell) which simply never arrived. I especially asked for our coffees to be served after we had finished our dessert, but mine arrived when I was half way through. Perhaps small faults but they combined to spoil our Sunday lunch. We won't be returning.

Don't waste your time or money!. We visited Padbury's a few months ago and had a very bad experience with poor service and mediocre food. We decided to give it another try and sadly the experience was worse! Service was worst we've experienced in Perth. Staff have no concept of customer service and were very clearly not interested. However the worst part was the food! Don't know who the chief is or who is responsible for running that kitchen but they are seriously letting that place down. Calamari starter was disgusting. Mains consisted of over cooked meat and soggy pasta with what was supposed to be seafood. We were not the only table leaving plates of food untouched.

They need to get a decent chef and train their staff or just close the place!

Fantastic meal. Went for dinner with my partner, and we both agreed that the food was the best we have experienced for years. A couple of specials which included a tasting plate (prawns, Turkish/bread and dip, skewers, quiche etc), lamb shanks, and their menu items of squid, beef cheeks and choc dessert were amazing! Service could of been a little better, but overall a great dining experience with pleasant surrounding and background music. We will be back.

Great place! Fantastic service in beautiful surroundings. Been there numerous times and will go back as well

What?. We went to Padbury's on Sunday for a take away coffee. We were told that the cost is $4.20 a cup - and that is very expensive even for Perth. When we told the server that we wanted take away cups, they wanted to charge an extra 50c per cup. What a rip off - a take out cup doesn't cost that much, and it also means no washing up for their staff. $4.70 a cup of take away coffee is outrageous - so we cancelled the order. Won't be going back there again.
