We came on a Saturday night and it was full house.. luckily we booked beforehand! Despite this, service was attentive and quick. Food came out shortly after we ordered and HOT, which for me is impressive as I love my food steaming hot. Arancini balls were crispy with a strong mushroom flavour. Both pastas had a generous serve. You can tell they were homemade and cooked perfectly al dente. Unexpectedly I enjoyed the lamb ragu pasta better than the crayfish one. The lamb had a good punch of flavour whereas the crayfish one was more subtle. Will be back to try their pizzas and desserts.
I finally got around to organising a dinner at Locale Mio. Ive been wanting to try this place for a while now but never got a chance to; also it was about 25-30mins drive. I came here with a group of Italians friends, so the pressure was on! đ The place had a nice decor & vibe and we ordered a few dishes to share - scallops (really good!), octopus (average), croquettes (didnât like. The filling was a little â sadâ and coating had not much âcrunchâ in it), crostini porchetta (amazing!) and the pizzas..buonissimo! Classico pizza (which is aka Parma at some other restaurants) is really spot on. Crust is beautiful and light (not chewy at all), plus the ingredients are fresh & of quality..yum! The guys had carne pizza and they loved it. Dessert: panna cotta was good, tiramisĂč was disappointing (barely any coffee, too much cream), zeppole was ok (I just wished it was pipping hot, fried, straight out of the pan) but the salted caramel sauce was amazing and wasnât overly sweet. Overall, the food was good, nice atmosphere, Service nothing to complain about. Well..It is now one of my favourite pizza joint! Def worth the travel :)
This is my second time coming for dinner and I have to say, it was absolutely incredible! They decor and ambiance is lovely and relaxed and though it has concrete floors it is not a loud restaurant.
We were shown our table (we booked) and were promptly offered water and when our water and menus arrived we were offered drinks. I had a negroni which was made perfectly and arrived surprisingly fast.
Throughout the entire dinner we were taken care of by attentive owner and his staff. I couldn't believe I was in Perth, I was so impressed by the service!
The menu is rather extensive with a choice of tapas, pasta, pizza and salads. There was a good variety of traditional Italian meals which I appreciated and by the looks and smells of all the food going by, I knew it was going to be good again.
My boyfriend and I shared the ham and cheese croquettes, beef carpaccio, Polpette pomodoro (meatballs) and the salsiccia pizza. Each and every bite was absolutely delicious. The pizza was the best I have had in a long time, the dough was the right amount of crispy and chewy, the salsiccia so authentic it reminded me of my Nonna!
I would highly recommend Locale Mio and I will definitely be coming back.
Couldnât wait to give this place another go. Hubby and I opted for tapas so we ordered beef carpaccio (melted in the mouth like butter), tartare, octopus, Italian sausage and the scallops then the donuts for dessert. All was delicious although my gripes are: tartare could of had more âcitrus zingâ. Octopus was a tad over, the scallops were also a tad over and the donuts were gluggy in the middle. In saying this it was an amazing experience and the food was still very satisfying.
Amazing! What a great little gem and an exciting new place for Guildford. So happy we decided to come here because it was absolutely worth it. We ordered a pizza, gnocchi and fries and all were delicious. The staff were all very friendly and overall a wonderful experience. Will definitely be coming back!
After the Ugly Delicious episode about Pizza, it got me craving a nice, authentic wood fire Pizza. So decided to try @localemio as their Instagram pics looked like what I was after. Bought the Margherita so I could see how their base and sauce is. Both were fantastic. Nice thin base, well cooked, nice and light, the sauce was tasty without being too rich and overpowering. The service was great. Ordered on the phone and was told it will only be 10 minutes, arrived and as I worked up to the counter the waitress asked Daniel? I said yes then she said here's your Pizza. Couldn't fault a thing and look forward to my next visit.

Locale Mio, Italian tapas and pizza restaurant, opened recently in Johnson Street behind the Guildford Hotel. It is a stylishly set up room, a dark tile serving area giving pride of place to a copper wood fired pizza oven, moving along to a striking bar with a wall of spirits behind it, wall murals and very comfortable leather look chairs.
