Review Saigon Fresh - Gungahlin

Service with a smile! It's $12 for a pork bahn mi, so there's been a recent price hike. I would have liked more fresh herbs but it did have a lot of filling. The roast pork and pate tasted great. You can also get freshly squeezed juice here ( see pic of fruits) . I prefer the shop at Majura since it's cheaper but you can't always drive there.

Happy to make my Bahn Mi vegan, which is awesome. Great mix of salad items too. Bread roll is nice and crunchy. Friendly staff too, who chat to the regulars and know their orders.

Their rolls are always delicious with great ingredients and fresh food. They also make tasty fruit shakes with fresh fruit that's also yum. I no longer live in the area but when I'm nearby it's usually my go to for a nice, filling lunch

I used to be a regular customer here until around 6 months ago. I bought and paid for 2 pork rolls and they were quite busy. While I waited in the shop I watched as the older lady went from serving at the till walk over to the bread rolls, picking up a few of them with the same ungloved hand that she used for the till. I was so disgusted that I walked out without the rolls or a refund. The pate which always used to be lovely and fresh looked pretty awful and like it was dried up sitting in some sort of grease. I'm sorry I really want to love this place as I've been going there for years, but it's gone downhill and the 1 star is for lack of hygiene. I've switched to the bahn mi shop further down the road outside the Kmart building entrance, which are pretty much the same type of rolls and super fresh and tasty.

Friendly customer service and value for your dollar; all you could ever want! I recommend the pork bun roll it’s a staple. The girl at the counter is smoking hot too <3

By far the best and freshest pork Bahn mi that I have tried in Canberra. The pho, one of the worst. But 5 stars for the rolls which is all I buy there

I heard off a bunch of different friends that this was the best banh mi in Canberra &a they weren't wrong! The rolls are quite big, super fresh and crunchy! Generous amount off filling with fresh pate and mayo.

I always get the Saigon Pork Roll and they are always so delicious and fresh!! Love them. Quick and friendly service too! Only wish they had Eftpos but otherwise - can't fault them! Highly recommend :)

Whenever I'm in Gungahlin, I always get a pork banh mi from here, the bread is so crusty and patè is just right, don't forget the chilli! Best option for a quick and cheap lunch in gungahlin.

Paid $5 for a bread roll with minimal pate and butter. They could have at least given a decent spread for that price. Something for them to consider.

Convenience over taste sums up this little place. The banh mi are average, I had the meat ball version. It wss under seasoned and I was hoping to find a piece of pickled daikon, which was missing. The pate was palatable, the onions, pickled carrots, spring onions and coriander added the required freshness.
Maybe will try their fruit juices and salads the next time I am in the area.

Easily Best pork roll (bahn mi) in canberra.
Haven't bothered trying the rest of the menu. Hard to go past the pork roll on what's always fresh bread.

Most disgusting Saigon roll/bahn mi that I've ever eaten. Took a bite and had to throw it away. Can't compare with decent Vietnamese rolls in Melbourne, Sydney or even Adelaide.

A good option for anytime of the day. My favourite is meat ball roll with lots of pickled carrots and radishes, fresh cucumber, herbs and chillies.

A Vietnamese rendition of subway. Fast, convenient and relatively affordable.
Service was alright, but staff did not quite pay attention to the requests made for the orders.
A good alternative if you want to change it up from your usual subway orders.
The only reason I can think of why this place has such high ratings is because of its price. Good for people on the go.

I absolutely love pork rolls (Saigon rolls, banh mi tit or whatever you want to call them). They’re definitely on my list of top 10 foods of all time. These little unassuming bread rolls have got everything going for them. They’re super tasty, somewhat healthy(ish), really filling and extremely affordable as well! The combination of fresh vegetables with delicious Vietnamese hams along with creamy, fatty and delicious pate and Vietnamese mayonnaise, all inside a Vietnamese baguette. Who knew just a few ingredients could bring so much joy. Yes, I did realise how often I said Vietnamese just then.

It Is So Delicious!. Saigon Fresh is a beautiful place to eat and stay healthy. It may be very small in terms of size but once you taste their scrumptious food and experience the hospitality of their staff you will be delighted.Their sandwiches and bubble tea drinks are definitely worth trying. Saigon Fresh is like Subway but even Cheaper!.So If you want really healthy benefits or just want to taste something different head down to Saigon Fresh in the Gungahlin Markets to have a wonderful new experience and get your taste buds blown away!.

Pretty tasty Bahn Mi, especially for Canberra. Very fresh and crunchy rolls. Service was speedy and polite when the manager was there but incredibly slow and rude when the manager was away.
Will definitely try it again when I'm in Canberra next but hopefully the service picks up a little. You shouldn't have to wait in an empty shop for staff to have a long chat with each other before beginning your order...

Great tasting chicken roll with coriander & chilli. Everything fresh & tasty. Good value at $6 a roll. Try it!

I love it!. The pork rolls taste absolutely amazing! would recommend it to anyone who loves viet food as much as i do haha :) that being said the rolls are not as amazing as ipho's Saigon rolls in civic but they still taste good enough to the point that whenever im in gungahin i go there for lunch.

I don't what everyone is tasting but it's not what I had. These rolls whilst a tasty little sandwich, are definitely not a worthy banh mi. bread rolls are soft and lack the explosive crustiness a true banh mi baguette should possess. The pickled veg also isn't quite a zingy as it should be and the sauces don't cut it, no hot pork option and the chicken seems to be a bbq roast chook from the coles nearby. coming from Melbourne I'm yet to find a good banh mi here, although the one at mawson shops wasn't bad. I'll have to keep looking but so far it seems like canberra still is yet to put a decent banh mi compared to Sydney or Melbourne and the prices here definitely don't reflect the quality.

sorry, good attempt but just a tasty sandwich. that is all

Holidaying in Canberra from Melb. While the rolls here are very good, I was a little disappointed to see processed meat in my pork roll. Guess we are are little spoiled for choice in Melb.6 buck price tag about 25% more than home. Pate and seasonings awesome. Worth a visit.

Awesome!. This place is unbelievable! From the delicious rolls to the fresh squeezed juice, there is nothing to complain about. The staff are very friendly and efficient. The food is cheap and super fresh.
Their Saigon Rolls sound basic, but the flavours inside are amazing. So simple, easy, fresh and tasty.
Highly recommended to all, you must try this place for a quick, cheap and healthy lunch. A combo with a drink is only $8. Bargain!
I go here three to four times a week.

Love this place. Finally a place in Canberra where I can get these traditional Vietnamese rolls freshly made. No more soggy day old ones from the Asian grocer. The bread is baked daily and the ingredients are fresh. The service is always friendly.

My favourite Vietnamese Roll in Australia so far. I've tried A few other Viet rolls in other cities, including the ones that are reviewed as "the best" in the cities, but Saigon Fresh rolls is still my fave. The pate's smell is just right, veggies are fresh and the meat is delicious. Everything goes well together in a crusty baguette. Yum!

Mmmmmmmm. I am addicted to the chicken rolls, have at least 2 a week. Fresh, tasty, healthy and fantastic service. If you want the best saigon rolls ever, get down here, you wont be dissapointed

Woot! Woot!. Well having just returned to Canberra having spent the last 2 years living just off Victoria St in Richmond (Melbourne) and having the choice of many a Vietnamese bakery (and around the $4 mark)... I was greatly relieved to come across this one having not seen one in Canberra since the demise of the 'Hiub' grocery stores. No hot BBQ pork option, but still a damn fine option. Good to know I still grab one of these... great for curing a hangover :)

Oh yes!. I absolutely love their saigon roll! I'm hooked! So fortunate that its very near my work. Price is also very good. I always have it with freshly squeezed juice. Healthy meal for just $10. Perfect, :)

About time!!. I'm so glad that FINALLY Canberra has a Vietnamese Saigon Roll establishment. I'm even happier that it's only 5 minutes drive from my place, and best of all? A Banh Mi is only $5.50!! I thought it was a joke when I first saw the advertised price.

The roll was crusty and fresh, and the ingredients were fresh and delicious. It was the perfect combination of flavours and the modest zing from the red chilli really made the experience memorable. I'll be back for sure!!
Snow Crab Nebula
The little shop is sort of hidden away in one of the Gungahlin malls but it was worth the little search. The rolls are fresh and tasty and it was actually the first I had a cold pork roll, as I normally go for the grilled meats. It was surprisingly tasty though and at $6(?) it was good value for Canberra. Yes, yes, we all know you pay $4 for them in Melbourne but $6 for a nice sandwich is still good value, no? If you're a banh mi purist you might take issue with the fact they use red onion instead of spring onion, but I didn't mind, it still made for one might tasty sanga.
Food Avenue
Saigon Fresh have identified a gap in the market and chosen to offer fresh, flavoursome bánh mì, which is a huge relief - the search for Saigon rolls in Canberra is officially over!!
