Review Bianchini's Espresso - Gymea

Steve Ognenovski
Popped in for a bite of lunch. I ordered a chicken burger and fresh orange juice. The chicken burger was very tasty and was well seasoned - with a slight spicy aftertaste. It also came with a side of chips. The chips were delicious and crispy. The OJ was very refreshing. The service was friendly, fast and efficient (considering the amount of people eating there). And my food came out in less that 10mins. The premises was very clean and tidy.

We have been coming to Biancini's for several years and always happy with service and food for years until today. A busy day and new staff but waiting for 1 hour and 25 minutes after paying for breakfast to actually being served our food turned a breakfast into lunch. There are too many choices in Gymea for this place to keep this up. Pick up your game or we won't be back.

Really disappointing… ordered two kids toasties at $7 each, two kids shakes at $4 (choc and caramel) and a regular shake at $6. Received two toasties, one multi seeded and one white at $10 each, two regular shakes at $6 and a kids shake. No choc shake but a caramel instead. $42 all in, queried it and was told it must be the PH surcharge (which was on the bill separately itemised). Really poor.

I didn’t expect to pay $16 for a chicken burger where the chicken patty was the highly processed mushy cheap chicken you buy at the supermarket. I don’t know what happened to this place but there is an obvious drop in the quality of ingredients. Chips were good though.

I love going to Cronulla Bianchini's and have for many years, today we thought we'd try Gymea's Bianchini's but were bitterly disappointed. While the coffee and the food were pretty good - the service was appalling. They weren't busy, they weren't under staffed, they were just slower than a sloth on sleeping pills - really unprofessional. Most of the tables were filthy when we arrived - my wife had to clean ours up. The water glasses had lipstick & asparagus still stuck on it, when my wife requested fresh ones she had to interrupt the only two waitresses in a side conversation to get some clean ones. She was then handed take-away coffee cups. When I stood at the counter to order food - one waitress ignored me and continued to unpack the dishwasher right in front of me. After 10mins of standing there - another waitress finally took my order - a couple of slices and a B&E roll. After waiting another 10mins - I went to the counter to ask for my pre-made slices which were still sitting in the window. I got one while my B. bread got put in to be toasted - as requested when I first ordered. After finishing my slice and seeing the other banana bread was being left under the grill, I again got up to the counter to rescue it. 30mins later my B&E roll had arrived and my company - who were in a rush - had left. Needless to say - this all soured our experience. We all have bad days, but in an area where there are close to a dozen other decent cafes - Bianchini's Gymea - you need to do better.

Went in here for a Sunday brunch with friends. The cafe is on the smaller side with limited shelter from the cold/rain. The eggs benedict was overcooked, the bacon and eggs was slightly cold which wasn't as enjoyable. For the price it was good value though.

Indoor and outdoor seating, dogs allowed outdoors. Doorway is a bit tight because it's also the primary order and serving spot for coffee and take away. We've been in the area for 2 weeks trying different places and it's the best coffee, the coffee is still 7 or 8 out of 10 and so could be better. They made me a juice that wasn't on the menu, so they are flexible, the food looked nice. Service was polite and efficient. All in all a good place.

Food and view is beautiful, however the service was terrible. Took them over an hour for 3 bacon and egg rolls.

First and last time bianchinielouera! I ordered a cappuccino and got it without coffee, cold and with a bit of chocolate powder on top. I could feel I am not welcome there... the lack of customer services was more than evident

I had the fish taco's for lunch today at the one at Gymea - they were absolutely delicious! The service was fast, the tables clean and the staff were friendly. I will be a regular from now on.

Breakfast was fabulous. Thank you so much for so many gluten free options. It's about time we had the calibre of food, service, environment and personalities in the Shire!

Just braved the rain to get my first Bianchinis Gymea piccolo and it was so worth it! Happy people, friendly barista and really tasty coffee! Chino for my little girl and loyalty card. Yep this will be a regular for us! Great vibe

Service here was horrible, very rude staff and food wasn't much better. Ordered a ham and cheese toastie, then after I ordered and payed I was informed there was no ham, only salami! Also my mother ordered pancakes which she waited for, for over half an hour then when they arrived they were burnt and absolutely smothered in maple syrup, so much it was uneatable. Won't be coming back.

Should have read reviews before visiting this establishment. Coffee fairly good but that's about it. No imagination with menu planning. Once I read the first few was easy to predict what would follow. Everyone does eggs and bacon. Try thinking outside the square.chose corn and chives fritter. As corn is mentioned first I'd expect reasonable amount of corn held together with a few other ingredients including egg not a doughy overcooked pile. Perhaps a fritter more akin to a pancake might have looked more appealing. Poached egg ok but that's not too hard to master. Slice of avocado. That was really taxing. Tomato relish , barely enough to mix with the rest. So it's horses for courses. If you want people to return make something about their visit memorable. 2 for the coffee.

Love the coffee at this venue and travel many suburbs for it regardless of the horrendous parking availability in Gymea, however today I found the ambiance perhaps a little too casual. Whilst waiting for my coffee I observed the cook on her phone texting madly for 10 minutes whilst there was garbage scattered on the dining room floor, even though it was only several egg cartons its not a good look to see them lying on the dining room floor. The other cook stepped over them twice on his way to the prep fridge. It seems that no one was in a hurry to pick them up or put them on the flat bed trolley that was also in the dining area? I can understand if it was super busy that this may be acceptable but the cooks did have time to step out and pick them up.
It made the area look dirty and unappealing to order anything from the kitchen.
Also whilst I was ordering and paying for my coffee the cook interrupted the cashier and barista with her text msg- not really cool sorry.
As I said I am a big fan of the coffee but I think the staff need to get off their phones as its not a good look.

A morning's welcome during the cooler season - and at other times as well! The menu is practical, not over done and not pricey. Bianchini has Italian vibes but also so dinky di Aussie in its streamlined items offered of burger, salad, eggs, breads, pancakes and porridge. There is the expected Big Breakfast. Sandwiches are available at lunch time. The coffee is good and reliable. It is a place for a quick drop by or to linger longer. Located on a side road, it offers relief from the main road in Gymea's main strip. The staff are friendly and yet focused on their work. It is an easy going atmosphere for customers. Oh wait, there are also Italian styled cakes....

So my mum and I thought why not try a new cafe in Gymea rather than our regular trip to Bianco Nero. How I wish this morning never happened and I could rewind and start my day off better. I've never written a review, good or bad, about any establishment but this was a whole different level of awful that I felt the need to warn any potential customers. In one word; horrific. I left that cafe feeling unwelcome and still hungry. My hunger was thanks to the $6.50 piece of 'sweet potato and date loaf' that was greasy, the tiniest portion and the first time came out burnt on both sides. After my mum asked for another piece, one of the girls (who I believe was 'cooking') rolled her eyes and took the plate without a word let alone an apology. The 'fig and apricot loaf' tasted suspiciously like any other run of the mill fruit loaf ... as in both these dishes had very appealing, unique names with very high prices but ended up being something I could've bought from Coles and probably toasted better myself. Also $7 for 'cold pressed' watermelon juice that came with ice in a tiny mason jar? Didn't realise watermelon juice cost that much per 100ml. Never greeted on arrival, eftpos machine was down (which I learnt after I ordered), barista was extremely rude, coffee was average at best, overpriced, unwelcome and all around a disaster. The only minuscule plus, there was a lovely girl who served us our drinks.

So I was looking to try another cafe in Gymea...

Bottom line is I'm giving this place 1.5 out of 5 purely out of sympathy.

Nice coffee though and the place looks modern :)

What a horrible experience, no notice or greeting when taking a seat. The hygiene in the kitchen is a fat zero! Open kitchen all on show, the chef had a cap on and would take it off and scratch his head. A playground for all types of bacteria, heros in cross contamination. Stay away, a shit hole. Gronks behind the counter need lessons in hospitality. Should go and have look at the place #sutherlandcouncil

We were looking forward to trying this cafe - and finally did today . The service was disappointing - not even acknowledged when we sat down . The staff were very busy chatting with each other rather than seeing if we were ok . Each time I went to the front counter for something the staff took their time to stop chatting . When we left , they didn't even look up from the iPhone 2 of them were looking at . So costumer service needs a big shake up . Food was quite nice , coffee pretty good . But sadly the staff's attitude has left me not about to rush back there .

This place does a 10/10 coffee but is at best a 2/10 for food. My bacon and egg burger was horrible. The bun looked and tasted like they found a dessert pastry in a wet bin and moulded it into a bun. The egg tasted like it cooked on the road and then put through a dishwasher cycle. The whole thing only had 4 parts; bun, egg, bacon, tomato relish and they stole $10.50 for it. I could find a better meal at McDonald's for half the price, and I hate McDonalds. How do you manage to make a bad B&E ...

Shit don't bother ... I asked for some spinach - got one mouth full yet paid extra for it. Friend got pancakes - no maple on it - asked for some extra maple syrup - had to pay $1:00 !! If you had made it properly we wouldn't have to ask !! Service - well there is none ... Get your own water - get your own cutlery - get up and get your own salt and pepper !! Please as if the food portions were not bad enough !!! Go to the main room at gymea for s feed - don't bother here ... Looks good from outside but dirty and shitty inside !!
From a local

New cafe in Gymea, an offshoot of the Cronulla eatery. Nice setting with lots of tables outside. Coffee was really nice. Food menu is limited but good - they have an all-day breakfast menu which is always welcome. I had the bacon and egg burger/roll on a brioche bun which was really nice. Prices are a little on the high side. I would come back!
