Review The Shack - Gymea

Actually amazing - being keto and having very limited dining out options - this place is perfect. Burgers were delicious, it was nice to eat sides that were keto friendly (Halloumi and zucchini fries) and have bullet coffee. The only thing that would've made it better is macros for all menu items.

Service in this place is definitely below average. Food was an average wait time maybe 25 minutes Food was delicious however very expensive.

Stopped in early on a Saturday morning for takeaway breakfast. Amazing bacon and egg rolls, generous portions. Pancakes were lovely and coffee was perfect. Will be back again!

Went for lunch last weekend. Tables we’re unclean. Food is pricey and food we had was overcooked and underwhelming. We had their baked eggs and the eggs were way over cooked, the sauce was way too chunky. Coffee was fine, but won’t be back.

The Shack is one of my favourite brekky spots in the shire. I love the atmosphere and the menu. I tend to drop in here after a gym session to try out their protein packed brekkies :)
Check me out on insta Sydneyfooddude

Had the earth bunless burger.
Absolutely loved that the fries were baked and the quinoa patty was very tasty.
Only thing I can say is the tofu wasn’t seasoned enough and a tad tasteless.

Ordered the Fancy Avo from the all day breakfast menu. Great flavour. However, there were many concerns.
It was complemented by the added smoked turkey for an additional $6 making the entire dish almost $30. I think this is an outrageous amount to pay for a breakfast dish! And it only had one egg (which was poorly poached)!

Further to this, the coffee was one of the most bitter coffees I’ve ever had. Could not drink it.

Other than this, service was alright. Not fast though. The cafe setting is fun and upbeat with sufficient indoor and outdoor seating.

Coffee basics can be found here with a few specialty coffees such as the double espresso with coconut oil and grass fed butter. These guys dish out food for the health conscious and people with allergies. This place is a gem in the suburbs. Menu is very extensive with a brekky and lunch menu. Lots of tables and seats indoors and out.

*wagyu beef burger and those sweet potato fries 👌
*protein pancakes - on the sweeter side
*smash avo - enough for two!

This is one place we'll definitely be coming back to.

I’ve been going to the Shack regularly for a few months now, and the staff are always friendly and ready to serve. Their coffee is always fantastic, and their dishes are creative and delicious. But again, a massive selling point for me is how they create such a wonderful atmosphere.

Large, fresh meals. They also serve Tamburlaine organic wine. I highly recommend the Acai bowls and the fancy avo which consisted of sourdough topped with avocado, goats cheese, tomatoes, chai seeds with sautéed mushrooms, asparagus, topped with a poached egg and a squeeze of lemon.

I don't think I've ever gone out to eat and felt so healthy and cleansed. The ingredients were very fresh and they have a wide range of dishes that will suit everyone's diet requirements: gluten free, vegan, pescatarian etc. I ordered the zucchini spaghetti which I tried for the first and it was so good, no regrets!

I've been to this new place about seven times now. Initially I was impressed: fresh quality food and friendly, accurate and prompt service. But they have dropped the ball.

The staff are young, attractive and friendly. But seem distracted with each other and somewhat clueless. The order was ucked up on my last three visits.

The food is quite good, when you eventually receive what you ordered. I think they go for a whole food, but not quite paleo vibe. So if you're paleo, it's disappointing, if your not paleo it doesn't quite make sense. I'm in between. So I guess I'm confused and disappointed. Bummer.

The decor is kind of hipster with timber plank/stump tables and loud music today. Too loud to have a conversation today. But I think that was the staff that were on today were not too fussed about meeting the needs of the customers.

On my initial visits there was a manager who seemed to run things well. I haven't seen her lately and her absence has spoilt what was a treat. Bummer.
