Best indian food i have ever come across, butter chicken was absolutely 10/10 š great friendly staff, overall excellent experience!
There's barely a bad thing I can say about Roti Boti. It's consistently good food, and the service is pretty much impeccable and I keep coming back often, because it's just great Indian food.
I don't tend to have the most adventurous palate out there, so when it comes to Indian food, I'm usually a Butter Chicken, Garlic Naan and rice kinda girl. But at Roti Boti, they do a STUNNING Mango Chicken, the likes of which I haven't tasted elsewhere. I'm not normally into savoury and sweet, but this works well. Their Butter Chicken is equally as good, and their Naan full of enough garlic to get you in trouble with your family, friends and coworkers for a good half week or so. If I get an entree too, I'll opt for their delicious Samosas and they're some of the best I've had anywhere.
99% of the time, the service is impeccable and spot on. The owner gets to know you even after one visit and could almost recite the order you placed your previous visit without error. He has the most amazing memory. It's a family run business and they pay attention to detail and always make you feel welcome. The only minimal downside is when they're doing persistent take away orders, and therefore your meal is delayed and delayed ... however ... if that's the only fault a restaurant has, it says a lot, and the food is worth the wait. It is quite dark inside, so be sure to have your battery on high for your phone if you use the torch app to read menus. But once you've ordered, be prepared for one of the best Indian meals around. Roti Boti is hard to beat.
Dined at Roti Boti after reading a lot of positive reviews.
š“between two people we ordered butter chicken, mango lassiās, onion bhajai, kadai lamb, rice and garlic naan. Plenty of food - perhaps too much! All of the food was delicious and authentic.
I absolutely love tge food, service, atmosphere and everything!!! Staff are so friendly. My 7 year old daughter chose this restaurant for her birthday family dinner and she pick the right restaurant. We definitely come back.
Lovely restaurant, great food, lovely service!
Decided to try this restaurant out tonight being new locals. From the moment we arrived we were wowed by nothing short of amazing charming, professional, passionate service. The owner himself was waitering tables and was a real pleasure to speak to and ask about dishes on the menu. The food was delicious. My partner loved the kastoori chicken & I loved the makhani sauce...so sweet & smoky. We look forward to coming back again & again!
So glad Roti Boti is our local Indian Restaurant, the food is delicious, the service is super friendly and helpful, itās reasonably priced! We havenāt had a bad meal here, would highly recommend :). We usually go the samosa, butter chicken and naan bread (I know, not very original) but itās awesome every time!
Food is excellent, just the right amount of spice. One of the best Indian restaurants we have come across in Melbourne.
If you like Indian food, do try this place. You will not be disappointed.
A favourite of mine. I normally get take away but decided dine in this time. We ordered butter chicken, hot lamb vindaloo, rice, spinach and potato curry and the most amazing flaky bread. The butter chicken was a little too sweet but good and vindaloo was nice but very spicy. Even though service was a bit slow I will still go back.
Our family have been dining at Roti Boti for a number of years. Having dined at numerous Indians restaurants throughout the country, we say with confidence that Roti Boti is the best Indian restaurant in Australia. There are many good Indian restaurants that get the food right but Roti Boti does so much more. It is able to offer the very best dining experience. The service is exceptionally good. Nitin, Bharathi and Vinit are great hosts who make you feel welcome and special every single time.
We highly recommend trying Kumkurare mushrooms, Miloni tharkare, Methi malai Chicken and Thardka Dhal-our favourite dishes.
Excellent food and incredible service. The staff there are extremely polite. It is always such a positive experience. I highly recommend it!

High quality meats used in curries.
Was happy to see meat being used not off cuts and bones. The butter chicken was a standout with a lovely smoky aftertone to it. My only gripe is that the spice level is for white people. The hot vindaloo was no spicier than some mild chilli sauce .
Ramp up the chilli one level and this would be amazing
Second time at roti boti and it just gets better...it really is perfect in every way .
We ordered the tandoori platter for two as entree which was an amazing mixture of Smokey BBQ chicken, lamb skewers lamb chopand fish all served on a sizzling plate my fiancƩ devoured all the meat and I had the fish which just melted In my Mouth ... It was food heaven.
Service was slow in the beginning
Although Iām saying that customers all
Arrived at once aAnd the poor staff
Weāre really run off their feet...
The mains were perfect . I chose the butter prawns which is the same as butter chicken but prawns. Indian does not get better than this place ... the rice and garlic roti were just the right accompaniment, and my partners goat curry was devoured so quickly I hardly got the chance To see it.
What made an impression more than
the food itself was the ambience . The owner and his wife Are so polite kind and well spoken and oh the elephant out the front is such a perfect entry with his trunk up in the air. The aromatic fragrance of soothing incence greets you as you walk in. Love this place
BIG favourite with the fam!!! honestly some of the best indianĀ ever eaten, worth the $$$$. there is one waiter who is just the nicest person ever, think he might be head waiter? service is amazing, was happy to point out food that could be made vegan!! we go here all the time and wont stop.Ā
100% recommend: kabuliĀ roti,Ā pumpkin bhaji, aloo baingan and pakoras!!!
One of the best Indian restaurant experience in Melbourne. The place is very intimate and the staff very considerate and friendly. The food was delicious especially the Barra Kebab. The mutton rogan josh was good as well. The food is well presented. Will be coming here again for sure.
Beautiful food. Tastiest dal makhani and chat around melbourne.amazimg host/manager. Just go over there and have a chat with him. They know how to make your evening apecial.
P.s:- he actually held my child while we enjoyed dinner. He really did
Delicious Indian food with some nice vibe. Slow cooked goat was highlight of all. We tried butter naan, goat curry, chicken biryani, trio of desserts. All of them are really good. They are a little bit pricey though but would still recommend š

Excellent Butter chicken with nicely grilled pieces
Nice yellow Dahl & seekh kebabs
Nice ambience , great for dining in
Very overpriced for the servings
Chose to dine here on a spontaneous Wednesday night. On arrival it was not very busy as we were early but it certainly was a buzz as the night went on. The food was delicious, we had the Special Meat entree plus butter chicken and vindaloo, all of which were amazing. The attention from waters was outstanding and i would now rate this my favourite indian resteraunt in Melbourne.
Booked for a Friday night and glad we did. From the moment we walked in the staff were attentive and friendly. The service was impeccable, the food delicious. The lamb saag was the best Iāve had. Will definitely return.
I rarely go out to eat Indian food, however Roti Boti is an exception. So I feel Its my duty to let people know where the good/real Indian food in Melbourne is.
Excellent as always.
Service is always a 5. Food is great.
Make sure you try the Barra Kebab (Lamb Cutlets) with its charred goodness and Kastoori Kebab.
As a person who likes to try new things, the specials in mains are always a go to. Hard to pin point certain dishes as I always try different things. So far nothing has disappointed.
Always a great experience.
Keep doing what you guys are doing!!!
Best Indian food in Melbourne! Every dish is so flavoursome: we absolutely loved the saag paneer, malai kofta, plus the garlic naan is super garlicy - perfect. It is very reasonably priced, particularly considering the quality. The service was exceptional - I have 0 complaints! My only recommendation is to book as it gets very busy any day of the week. We will be back!
The friendly service was the best I've ever had and so was the Saag Paneer and Malai Kofta! Can't wait to go back again soon and work my way through the whole menu!
An amazing fine dining Indian experience. Fantastic, attentive service (not sure what the other reviews are referring to unless they got different waiters). But to reiterate what everyone is saying, the butter chicken is to die for. It's easily one of the best butter chickens in melbourne hands down.
I've been coming here since I was a child. No Indian restaurant in the area is as good as this place! Prices are also very reasonable considering the excellent quality you get and the service is great. I have to agree with another reviewer who said the host remembers every customer'a name... it's true!
Best Indian I've ever consumed
You don't even know what butter chicken is until you've eaten here
Get your life together
I would do unspeakable things for this butty chick TRY IT NOW
And the owner will melt a part of your soul with his charm
The high end service is the first thing you will notice when dining at Roti Boti which is matched by their amazing dishes. I am a regular and have tried most dishes. Highly recommend. Take away is also excellent quality. Also helps that it's BYO wine :) do yourself a favour and visit!
I'm going to sharply diverge from the average review.
Roti Boti is great. Every time we've been there, or bought take away, or Ā taken relatives there, the food has been superb. The atmosphere feels authentic and the prices are reasonable.
What more could you ask?
The owner Nitin has a fine memory for names. At first I thought I was just the most memorable customer he's ever had. (And if you look at my profile, you'd have to agree.) But he even remembered my relatives' names from WA who had only been there once, the year before!
Been here a few times over the past year. Roti Boti is always consistently excellent. Superb food and service. Love this place!
Ps. The butter chicken is amazing
The vegetable jalfrezi and the eggplant curry were super delicious :) Also got the saffron rice and the garlic naan bread! The saffron rice was probably really good, I just am not a big fan of basmati rice in general. The naan bread was really good though, and went amazingly with the curries. Nothing was overly oily, too, as you find with some other Indian places. Will be back!

Simply fine Indian cuisine. š
Third time dining here, and was again impressed with the the level of food and service. Quality curries fine-tuned to your desired heat level, and all priced at a reasonable price point. It's no surprise that this restaurant is always busy.
TRIED
ā¢ Tandoori chicken (entree, ~$14) - Perfect blend of spices and heat. Standout.Ā
ā¢ Beef vindaloo (main, ~$19) - Lean chunks of beef, cooked in a mouth-watering sauce that makes perfect pairing with rice or naan. Seriously flavoursome.Ā
ā¢ Goan fish curry (main, $21) - A milder curry with a base of coconut milk which plays the perfect second fiddle to a fiery vindaloo.Ā

DO: Speak to the brilliant restaurant manager who has superb knowledge of the menu.Ā
DON'T: Up the spiciness level of the vindaloo if you can't handle the heat!
Food here is delicious and luxurious, though the service is not always matching. Tables are crammed close together, and their focus seems to be on getting people through the door rather than treating them to a great experience.
Best indian food I have eaten.Ā Lovely relaxed dining expeience with extremely excellent service from a very attentive and knowledgable waiter.Ā Loved everything about Roti Boti, the atmosphere, decor, staff and especially the food.Ā Recommend you go there - you won't be sorry!
Roti Boti - it is the kind of Indian food ( to be precise North Indian food) we had been looking for in Melbourne. After a dozen other trials at other Indian restaurants we finally landed at this gem of a place . It was really FAR for us to come over from the Northern suburbs but in the end the satisfaction trumped the arduous journey! The manager there is amazing and truly knows his stuff. Customer service gets a 4.5 ! We ordered mint tandoori prawns and onion bhajia as starters. The prawns are by far the most amazing tandoori starter dish I have had anywhere! Perfect taste! Go try it out for yourself. Onion bhajia was good too. Mango lassi was average.
Our mains were malai kofta( specifically mentioned to not be sweet) and chicken methi masala, plain naan and garlic naan. Malai kofta was genuinely not sweet and very tasty. The winner in mains was chickenmethi masala. Brilliant flavours. The kheema naan would definitely not be missed. It was average.
All in all we found the first good Indian restaurant in Melbourne! Keep up the good work guys :)
First +Ve : Walked in without a booking on a Tuesday (busy)night and had to wait for a while to get a table of 6.
Delicious food with authentic taste and descent serving size.
Flawless service and warm and cosy ambience.
Value for money!!!
Ordered Chicken Biryani, Kheema Paratha & some papads for a take out! They got it ready pretty quick & they staff was very nice too! The menu of the website & the actual menu had some price differences & they offer 20% discount if you pay by cash - This is kind of unfair for card users & never heard of this before !
The Kheema Paratha was amazing. The manager insisted I try the chutney with the papads which was pretty damm good too. But the Biryani was not as good as expected. It felt liked it lacked some flavour.
Overall good place but they are a bit pricey & makes sense in ordering only specific dishes !
Let 's start with decorative elephant outside! I went with a couple of friends who are regulars. Nitin was incredibly attentive and explained the specials very well. We had a sharing platter as a starter. It was perfect. Butter chicken and rockling were cooked in the tandoor in total perfection. Spices and herbs used were fresh and authentic. The service from staff impeccable and the mango /pistacchio ice cream was the best i have ever tried. Will definitely be going back!
Great ambience, friendly staff, food was delicious and very well priced. Would definitely recommend. One of the best Indian restaurant I've been too. 11/10 ....oh and there was naan left!
Some of the best Indian food I've ever eaten and that includes food whilst in India. Amazing naan and all 3 dishes plus pakoras were perfect!! šš¼šš¼šš¼
The service and dishes were outstanding, we can't wait to come back! The staff were so attentive and the atmosphere was great. The cauliflower and spinach entree was a stand out.
Review of malai kofta, and the Baingan Bharta (vegetarian dishes).
The short of it; top notch customer service, rather long wait depending on what you order, but great food.
A table of three had walked in immediately before my partner and I, and I'm fairly certain they were being served desserts before our mains arrived. However, all the food was absolutely fantastic. The food comes in small dishes, but is deceptively filling. The flavors were great, but in one of the dishes, the veggies were cooked down so much that it made sense the food had taken so long. It seemed to have been made from scratch with fresh ingredients (which I'm very happy to wait for) and just cooked down a lot, and absolutely delicious. Both were good vegetarian choices, and I would like to go back and try more.
Lemon lime and bitters were done really well, and the samosas and garlic naans were pretty fantastic.
Great atmosphere for a date night, incredibly great customer service. No photos were taken as it felt like too nice a place to take photos at š
Exceptional customer service! This place has it all worked out. The food was very good coupled with very friendly staff. The best curry I have had in Australia so far. It's always busy for good reason. Highly recommend.
Good atmosphere, great food and service with a smile, we had the buffet (table of 4) and loved it, the doughnut dessert was amazing and just the right size after eating a beautiful buffet of food! Will be back!
Excellent service and great food. This place is one of the best in Melbourne. Lighting could be just a little brighter to help read the menu but all in all it was a five start service!
Hands down the best Indian food in Melbourne. I am a bit of an Indian food enthusiast and have lived in the UK, NZ, the U.S.A and have not found Indian food to this level. I've been going to Roti for the past three years and have never been disappointed. The service is impeccable, the ambience is wonderful and there aren't enough superlatives in the English language to describe their food. The Aloo tiki chaat appetiser is a must try as well as the shahi paneer for any vegetarians like myself. If I could live in this restaurant and eat their food every day, I would. Well worth the trip and not even that expensive compared to the rest of Melbourne. Do yourself a favour and get down to eat at this wonderful restaurant, you won't be disappointed.
Wow, what a night out.
My wife and i were amazed at the service at Roti Boti,
The owner was simply delightful as he explained all the dishes that i could partake in that contained no dairy.
Nitin i believe his name was, an absolute champion operator, this guy exemplyfies what it is to run a restaurant in style.
The food was amazing,
We had pakora to start which was perfection and curry and rice to share for main.
Get used to us Roti Boti, as we will be regular's all the time.
Michael
Lovely Indian food and great service. I'd recommend a visit here, but I'd suggest you ask them to make your food hot if you like some spice. Their curries are tempered to meet the Aussie pallet. Always check the specials, I've had some great off menu items.
I have been here a couple of timesĀ inĀ 2015, and both times have been a mostly enjoyable experience. The service is impeccable, and you are always made to feel welcome. On weekends it can be quite busy, so booking is advised. Also be prepared to wait for your waiter, and then your food to come out - we had around an hour between our entrĆ©e and main last Saturday night. Food is always of a high standard, and beautifully presented - my favourites are the prawn curry, and the Roti Boti Platter (one of the specials). There is a great selection of wines, but be careful - you could end up buying more than you intended with waiters encouraging you to buy more. Prices are quite expensive for small curries, but the atmosphere is good, and I always enjoy eating here. We spent around $280 for four people, also a warning - corkage is $5 per head!
Best Indian food in Melbourne without a doubt and the staff are amazing. Portions are generous, excellent variety of food and you always leave feeling extremely satisfied. Cannot fault it.
Always very nice food , great service , A1 they always go out of their way to keep you happy .
We will be back soon , a must in Hampton st Hampton
Great food and friendly service. Affordable fine quality meal great for families. Take away is fast and always reliable. Would recommend !!
Attentive service with the specials explained in detail. Delicious Lamb Pesanda and Prawn Masala, topped by a Pistachio Kulfi Affogato with a shot of Baileys. Very happy with this accidental discovery.
Came here on a Thursday night, were welcomed by polite staff and seated immediately. Starters and selection of wine were lovely. Mains were not that appetising. Service was a bit on the slow side. Overall happy experience.!
Love love love this place!! The service, food and atmosphere are fantastic. Hands down my favorite Indian restaurant, my top dishes are the palak paneer, dry Dahl and pumpkin bhaji, very tasty!
Came here again last night, been going for years now. Service is great as usual, so polite, friendly and helpful. Food is amazing, I can't fault the place. We ordered Kashmiri Naan + Rice, Chicken Saag and Beef Vindaloo

The cleanliness is also second to none
A real pleasure to visit......!!
On any occasion
Well done Guy's
A beautiful Indian Restaurant in Hampton. I went to this restaurant a few week ago. The overall food was very good. The staff were very polite and friendly.
We went here for dinner after golf. It was quiet but the service was really good. They are very attentive. Food was good. It's nicely decorated and a good environment
It is so good, the customer service is fantastic and the food is beautiful.Ā
The Aloo Palak is amazing, and the Aloo Paratha is also.
Great restaurant and love going there.
My sister and I went there on a busy Saturday night and the staff were attentive and lovely. When the food came out it not only looked amazing it tasted that way as well. Looking at the window they have won lots of awards and it is not hard to see why.
Fantastic I love Indian foo.... Fantastic
I love Indian food and I would highly recommend Roti Boti. Staff fantastic. Food best in Melbourne. Roti Boti brings Indian food dining into the 21st century with great table service and a classy table setting. Not to mention the food being the cleanest refreshing and fresh Indian I have ever had.
My wife and I now go weekly and have to say goodbye to our old Indian restaurant.
Well done guys. .
Absolutely fantastic service and food everytime. Nitin and his team ensure that the whole experience is exceptional. The only downside to this place is that you once you have chosen your favourite dish (shrimp vindaloo, out of this world!!) you forget there are so many other amazing dishes on this menu. My advice bring as many friends as you can, just so you can try each other dishes... Haha. Always busy, always first class welcoming service and AMAZING food! A favourite of ours.
JUST FANTASTIC.. Every time we go to Roti Boti I think of writing a review for the great service and food, but then every time I go to food coma .
Roti Botiās service is second to none, staff are very friendly( everyone has a smile on their face) and welcoming, they explain the dishes( what spices they use) and the background of them which is really helpful to those who donāt eat Indian food often.
We do take away or dine in at Roti Boti at least once a month, and have tried most of the dishes. But my favourite is Tandoori Chicken for entree, Lamb Korma and Lamb Sag.... but everything on the menu is just as delicious, so it all depends what is your taste and your preference.
Now, I have never really eaten Indian food before so when I was told we were going to dine at an Indian restaurant, I couldnāt complain less. A friend from work suggested we go to Roti Boti, a fairly popular Indian resturant located in Brighton. Sheād eaten there many times before and strongly recommend that I give them a try. I havenāt had the appetite to eat much recently and it was beginning to manifest physically as well, so I needed something rich and tasty to remind of the joy good food can bring when in the company of friends. We each ordered a curry each and decided to share it all. I was going through a eat less meat phase and decided to order something vegetarian. Kadhai Beef Pieces (Beef cooked in wok with onion, tomatoes, bell pepper, ginger, garlic, crushed coriander & other spices) $16.95 Dhingri Mutter (A mild mushroom & pea, fenugreek and onion sauce with a hint of tomato.) $12.95 Chicken Tikka masala (Chicken cooked in a creamy tomato sauce with a blend of spices & fre
Great service great meal. All the family enjoyed it. Will be back.
Amazing. Cannot fault this excellent venue. hospitality so warm. food so tasty, delicious & tender. genuine attention to customers. faultless manners. I wish I lived closer so I could eat there more. no wonder they have the elephant out the front because they forget nothing. best night out in ages. thank you for having a restaurant & sharing this warmth with us.
Loved the tandoori fish. Very rich n smokey. Service was slow and distracted (forgot things). But highly recommended for the food.
First time we've eaten here and we will definitely be back. The food was amazing and the staff are lovely. We regularly went to Nitins restaurant in Doncaster and are extremely happy to follow him to his families restaurant. It will be our families new favourite.
By far the best of it's league! Excellent food, impeccable service & very good value.
Visited this place for dinner with friends. Theyāre usually quite busy and the host Nidhi did set our expectations for relaxed service.
Would love to try their alcoholic fusion drinks when theyāre available but the virgin mojito was good.
We ordered chicken tikka masala(best even in Melbourne), paneer methi malai and daal makhni with garlic roti which was quite good.
Hope to visit this place to try starters too(have heard good things about them)
First time in ROTI BOTI and YOU have to go! Itās the cutest little spot with amazing food. The MANGO CURRY is to die for. IT WAS FIRE!! The service we received from NIDHI (āØādefinitely great sense of humour was free with serviceā āØ) was so amazing and we will definitely be back again. They made us feel welcomed and gave us an amazing experience.
I could not be more impressed with the level of service my family and I received whilst we were there! The team on Wednesday night was friendly, courteous and speedy. Not only was the service excellent but the food was flavourful and portioned perfectly. Thank you for an enjoyable evening!
Truly magnificent Indian food dish after dish after wonderful dish.. my favorite Indian restaurant in Melbourne . Everything from the giant carved Elephant to the hilarious lady owner, we were treated to the very best food and service. The butter chicken and fish curry were to die for.
They were short staffed too... A great Melbourne restaurant.
Great place to have a real Indian meal.
Very inviting, all dishes were so tasty.
High level of service.
Reasonable prices. You can bring your own wine, but it was a great choice in wine list.
Thanks š
Best restaurant!! Went for my 21st birthday and I have never experienced such a great group of staff making us feel welcomed, looked after and overall just creating a very amazing experience. Couldnāt recommend more.
