Best Avocado Smash in town, and the chai is the best thing ever. This place has the best customer service and the food is amazing and fresh. Every time I go there it has been awesome!

We came by on a Saturday for brunch. The menu is Japanese inspired and very creative. We ordered the okonomiyaki and the macro bowl. Both dishes were presented beautifully. The okonomiyaki was fried and dressed well. It was well-balanced and had good flavour. The only thing I’d change about it is instead of a poached egg I’d have a fried egg instead as I think it would go better with the okonomiyaki. The macro bowl had lots of different ingredients in it. Individually they all tasted delicious but together they didn’t really compliment each other. It didn’t bother us as we finished everything anyway! A cute, cosy cafe with good food and good coffee.

As many of our followers would know, I love the experience that only truly local cafes can offer a community. There’s a very special vibe they have. Slipping into a booth at a local café is akin to slipping on your favourite pair of comfy shoes or jeans. Comfortable, relaxed and you feel at home… That’s the magic of a community café.
Really pleasantly surprised, they may have changed the menu since but have had the most amazing fritters here multiple times and was delicious every time. Also do a great coffee and Chai latte.
The coffee was amazing..... so much so that I ordered some fresh beans to take home. The food was cooked to perfection, but the serving sizes was extremely small. The side of mushrooms was literally 2 smallish brown mushrooms which was $4. The avocado mash again was very skimpy in size.
My only criticism was the meal size..... every thing else was perfect.

This menu has many different dishes on offer with a Japanese twist on some classic favourites. I ordered the baked gnudi egg for a bit of an adventure and was delighted by what I got. Such a good way to have baked eggs with an influence from a spinach and ricotta ravioli. Ciabatta was delicious. I also enjoyed the coffee here and loved the cosy feel of the place.
Had the Japanese Micro Set with poached egg, which was delicious. A few different flavors made it interesting, and the plate was presented well. Very attentive waitstaff. Outdoor seating in the back was relaxed and welcoming. Takeaway coffee really good. Will come back again.
This cafe serves up the best coffee! Good menu options for vegetarian and gluten free mummas, and there is plenty of prams at the shaded outdoor seating area. Castlefield Reserve is literally right next door for your little ones to enjoy a run around at the playground after your meal. @plantbasedmum_

Love this little spot in Hampton. The naked ricotta gnocchi is one of the best on a cold Melbourne morning. Coffee is great and the courtyard out the back is perfect in summer or under the heaters in winter. ✌🏽

A cute little corner cafe in Hampton in an unsuspecting location. Staff were lovely and accomodating. The coffee was really good and well made. The menu was great so many different flavours and options to choose from. I'd love the dish I ordered it didnt hit the mark for me.

When I was visiting Hampton,found this lovely, cozy local cafe offering nice decent coffee and brunch options.
They have outdoor seating and smoking area too. The baristas were busy making all the coffee using Symmetry coffee beans.
The choices of the breakfast/brunch items are limited, however, you can find some interesting and creative dishes using Asian ingredients and cooking.
#pulled pork egg benedict#-with teriyaki bok choy. Using Bok Choy in egg benedict was first time ever! But it turned out to be pretty good! The pork was tender with lots of flavours and the egg was cooked to perfection. Lovely dish for egg benedict lovers.
#Japanese Sweet potato hot cake#-served with Japanese black honey, mascarpone cheese and sweet nectarine. I don't normally go with sweet dish for my brunch. But this hot cake was really nice! Sweet potato cake was extra thick but in small size. The texture was really soft and mushy but with crispy skin. The cake itself was not sweet, the honey syrup and plum added extra sweetness and freshness to it.
Cornerstone also offer vegetarian options and more healthy dishes too. This place is worth a visit when you are around there!
Yummy food and drinks every time!! Love having this place as a local, especially with the playground across the road for the kids for a play afterwards.
Went here with a girlfriend and our 1.5 year olds for breakfast. The place is unassuming in a quiet residential type area, never would have known it was here without her recommendation.
We sat in the courtyard, nice environment. I had the baked eggs (with added bacon) which were AMAZING.. So much flavour! My toddler had a babyccino and the kids toastie, she was happy enough! Lovely local place with great food, added bonus right across from a great park for afterwards. Definately be back.
Great little cafe, that ticks all the boxes. When reading the menu, I thought the fusion of japanese and italian sounded a little odd, especially for breakfast, but I was wrong. Sweet potato hotcakes had just the right balance of savoury and sweet. Then on the flipside, my friend ordered the Arrabbiatta, and it was perfectly balanced and seasoned. Two very different styles of food, brought together. Great effort. Coffee and service were also great!

A lovely cafe with cute decor and friendly service. Although had to drive for 30 mins to get here, felt totally worth it. The food was nice, interesting combination with Japanese style. Will come again!

The food here is great and the atmosphere is pleasant unfortunately helpfulness and flexibility were lacking. My mother and I planned to get take-away for my sick niece when we finished our lunch. We mentioned this to the staff when we arrived. As we went to pay, right on three, we were told nothing savoury was available. It was pointed out to us that the finishing time of 3 o'clock is on the menu. I'd been here once before and clearly had not previously had cause to investigate the closing time. I suggested that as we had mentioned wanting to get take away when we left, perhaps someone could have warned us that the kitchen was about to close. Even without this fact, alerting clientele that the kitchen will close shortly is pretty common practice. It would have been very easy as we were the only table inside at that stage. We were told the chef had packed everything up and nothing could be done. No attempt to suggest anything more substantial was made. Having run a cafe for eight years and since been in the service industry another 21, I found it really hard to believe that there was absolutely nothing that could have been offered to us. My mother spent another $15 on muffins when we left. I wasn't happy about this. I questioned, why would you spend another $15 on top of the lunches we already bought, when the owner didn't attempt to investigate or make even the most basic offer of something to help resolve this situation. As we were in Hampton the chances of finding a meal or even a cheese sandwich elsewhere after finishing here was pretty slim. We left disappointed and pretty reluctant to return.
Really unique different place that does your cafe brunch but has Japanesey influences in heaps of the dishes. Had the macros bowl and it was awesome! Reasonably priced too. Would go again
What a cute, hip, funky, fresh and unique place! My favourite places to eat at are places that are "different", and I can tell you right now, that this place is absolutely different. In good way of course! The unique fusion of Japanese and Italian was amazing! The Japanese flare on the food is tasty and unique and gives going out for brunch a whole new feel.
Being a health professional I also appreciate the "healthy options" on the menu.
Will definitely tell my mates to try it out and will be back again sometime myself.

Cute Cafe on the corner, I liked the decor inside. The chamellia fresh chat was really nice, would definitely order that again. Food has an interesting twist with an Italian/European and Japanese fusion going on!! Had breakfast, but would be keen to come back and try some of the more Japanese inspired lunch options again next time. Portions were a little small for the price.

Cornerstone & Co. is a hidden gem in the back streets of Hampton fusing Japanese & Italian cuisines over breakfast and lunch. Owners Michelle Pavone's and Nick Gulino’s have created a wonderfully inviting space. Touches of wood and metal and pendant lights suspended from the high ceilings create a contemporary and casual feel.
Discovered this Cafe a week ago and can't keep away, coffee is always perfect, cakes and muffins are amazing and so fresh. Can't wait to try some of the lunch items and dinner one month 😊 Michelle and her staff have created a wonderful business 😄
Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Had the fig and walnut toast with jam (didnt notice any figs but there were apricots-not a huge fan), the pig benedict and a croissant. Coffee was really good!!

Ah, the excitement of hunting for food in an entirely new suburb! I've never been to Hampton - in fact, I don't think I've ever explored any of the southern suburbs before. It was tough to make a decision about where to eat when everything was new to us but we finally settled on Cornerstone & Co.
These guys got it going on! Loved our visit - kombucha, almond milk, green tea pancakes - oh my! Super friendly staff and a cute and comfortable atmosphere!

Cornerstone & Co quickly became and remains a favourite in the area, and for good reason. This cute little cafe serves up consistently delicious dishes, many with a Japanese flare. There is a great outdoor area out the back, that puppies can enjoy too!
Went to this place for breakfast yesterday. Food was ok. Hampton is lacking good breakfast spots this would be the pick of bunch.
There is nothing I could fault about my meal or dining experience at Cornerstone & Co. I had the smashed avocado with a perfectly cooked poached egg.
Firstly, presentation was amazing. Secondly, portion size was spot on. Most importantly the flavour was amazing, it had the perfect amount of mint without being over powering and those Edamame peas were an amazing little pop of texture when you got them in a mouthful.
I am so pleased to live so close to this place and will definitely be back soon

Quality of food very high for a cafe. I had a prawn calamari veg dish which came with sourdough or gf bread. Very tasty. Staff super friendly and helpful. Good vibe and will be visiting again.
By far one of the best cafe experiences I've had in a long time! Was looking for the perfect venue to have lunch with our great mates from out of town, and was delighted that the Cornerstone & Co cafe took bookings on a Saturday (most bayside cafes won't take bookings on the weekend). Was a bit nervous as I hadn't been there before, but I shouldn't have worried. Loved my chai, food was fabulous and what stood out to me the most was just how kind, polite, lovely and accommodating the staff are. With two little children of my own (and an additional 3 children at our table) staff went above and beyond to make sure we were ok and we all certainly felt taken care of the entire time we were there - which was hours because we had such a great time. A huge thanks to the team at Cornerstone & Co, you guys are fabulous and I cannot believe we've lived in the area for some time now and not discovered you earlier! A hidden gem, will be sure to be visiting again!
Love this cafe! The back courtyard is so nice to sit in, staff are friendly, the coffee is always perfect and the food is delicious. I think there is a lot to be said by a cafe doing simple things perfectly.
Funky cafe. We had the salmon and a chicken burger which both had a refreshing salad component. Very reasonably priced and great service.
I like this place. The menu is a Japanese and Italian fusion. For breakfast it is something different than the normal run of the mill breakfast. The eggs benedict uses pulled pork and they had two perfectly poached eggs and the made a smoked peanut hollandaise which you couldn't really taste. The coffee is good. At $20 it's isn't too bad considering the venue is in Hampton. I defiantly would consider it my go to breakfast in Hampton.

Visited Cornerstone on a Sunday morning and it looked busy, thankfully all the people outside were waiting for take away coffee, so instantly knew the coffee was going to be good. Once seated we were served within a few minutes and then amazed by how quickly the food came out, before the coffees in fact! Poached eggs were perfect, bacon nice and mushrooms delicious. All in all would recommend and definitely come back.

Great little find in Hampton!. We visited this cafe based on Urbanspoon reviews and weren't disappointed. Our coffees arrived quickly and were delicious. We ordered the avocado feta smash and it was well presented... but the flavours were amazing! It wasn't your typical avocado/feta crumble. It was more like a guacamole with a sprinkling of feta on top! The cafe was busy and staff were friendly and attentive. We'll be back!!

Perfect!. This place is tucked away in Hampton away from the main shopping strips and is the true meaning of your local cafe. They have decorated this place with style and it is a very welcoming and relaxing place. Plenty of seating either out on the sidewalk, inside or out the back in the courtyard. Staff are friendly and efficient and the food looks amazing. I had a coffee and it was spot on. The breakfast options look great and i can't wait to return.
Atmosphere vs Coffee. Cornerstone has good food, no doubt about it, but it seems fairly hit-and-miss. Some menu items are great, the french toast is AMAZING, but other items are not so great. The coffee was watery and bitter - most likely the effect of badly tempered grounds, which is not so much the fault of the establishment. The service was a let down. I was in a group of two, one coffee came, the other was forgotten. Waiters did not check to see if our meals were fine, and we had to go looking for a waiter to inquire about the missing coffee. Despite this, my experience at Cornerstone was enjoyable, the atmosphere was friendly, I sat outside, tables were clean.
I am a little biased as I visit Cornerstone & Co. each day for coffee. The coffee, the service and the feel of the cafe is great. The owner Michelle makes you feel welcome. On weekends I am an occasional visitor for meals. The menu is interesting, varied and the food is excellent. One downside is my local cafe is now often bursting at the seams with diners. Highly recommended, just try not to be there when I am so I can get a seat!
A nice surprise. Due to it's location I was slightly dubious about having breakfast here. However the menu impressed me so we gave it a go. Coffee was fantastic - best I've had in the area. Food was very fresh and tasty - the baked eggs were delicious. Although I have found there are slightly limited food options after a couple more visits, definitely worth a try. Funky fit out and friendly staff. Seems child friendly too - and a great courtyard out the back.
