Beautiful cafe with a lovely courtyard!
Breaky board was fantastic but I would recommend ordering a side with it as it wasn’t too filling. Perfect if you’re looking for a light and cheap meal however.
The coffee was delicious and smooth with amazing latte art that would have anyone taking their camera out!
We called in to Sebastians food and wine for a weekend lunch and sat in their sunny courtyard with plenty of real greenery and plenty of local chatter. Staff were friendly and organised and the menu had a good range of tempting dishes.
We both agreed that the coffee was good which was a promising start and the ruby grapefruit spritz certainly had a refreshing tang to it.
We tried the tasting plate of the all day brunch menu which is well worth considering if you want a selection of their favourite breakfast dishes on the one plate. It also came without bread which was good for those who want a lower carb option. The candies bacon was a treat and the cauliflower fritter was a favourite of mine.
KD chose a chicken schnitzel burger from the lunch side and it was massive and that chicken schnitzel understated on the menu... made with real quality chicken and quite thick. There was a mountain of cheese and bacon to boot so a really enjoyable burger.
Thanks to the team at Sebastian’s for their hospitality and delicious meal.
Just a stone throw from Hampton beach, lives a Bayside resident that’s stood the test of time. Sebastian’s, which is famed for its Straight out of Hampton Burger, is owned by one of the calmest café owners I’ve met in Melbourne. I suppose it’s hard not to be calm when you run a café that has a beachside vibe, with a courtyard that feels much like sitting in a friend’s backyard for afternoon drinks.
I was fortunate enough to meet Jenny, and hear what led her journey to Hampton, after a career as a teacher. Husband Theo loved the fact Hampton is not too far from Moorabbin, where his beloved St Kilda Football Club train, and it’s no surprise the boys come down after training for the infamous Chicken Sandwich many flock to like seagulls to chips.
I took the path less travelled, and ordered the Miso Greens for a healthy start to the day; while my partner was lured by the Blueberry Waffles, which were smothered in passionfruit curd and mango sorbet.
If you’re coming for the afternoon, and like your Italian reds, I suggest you try the Sangiovese. I had a sneaky glass, and am now planning a trip out to the King Valley to visit the winery it dawns from.
Find Sebastian right across from the Hampton train station.
It’s not hard to understand why Sebastian’s Food and Wine was packed with locals. Offering a green oasis in their courtyard, Sebastian’s menu caters to both the health conscious and those looking for their next cheat meal. We found their dishes not only creative and photogenic, but most importantly incredibly tasty and satisfying.
For a relaxing brunch that’s bound to satisfy your heart and soul, Sebastian’s is the place to be.
What an amazing experience we had at Sebastian's Food and Wine!
This friendly local cafe/bar in the heart of Hampton is definitely one to visit if you're in the area, or even travel across town for the experience.
Great space on the corner with heaps of different seating options, outside, inside or out the back with great lighting for photos!
Drinks: We had a couple of drinks, classic Pimms cup and and Mango Smoothie. Both chilled and done to perfection
Steak Sandwich $20: Eye fillet, lettuce, tomato relish, seeded mustard mayo, bacon, onion rings, tomato and cheese on pumpkin sourdough with fries.
Personally we're not usually a big fan of sandwiches, but this one by the Sebastian's team blew us away! The steak was perfectly cooked, not too tough, bread was crisp, flavour balanced very well.
Waffles $18: Blueberry waffle, passionfruit curd, caramelised coconut, raspberry coulis, mango sorbet, hazelnut crumble.
No joke the best waffles we've ever had in Melbourne! If you're a waffle fan, this is a waffle you don't want to miss! The mix of sweet and tart, soft and crunchy was done so well we eat the waffles up before the savoury dishes. Would have this morning, afternoon or night any day!
Tasting Plate $20: Triple combo of cauliflower fritter, sriracha maple glazed bacon with smashed avo + egg and mini smoothie bowl.
A great sampler of the awesome other dishes offered by this great cafe.
Price: Definitely affordable, especially for the level of food you can enjoy!
Overall: 5/5 - would definitely re-live, re-eat and dejafood the experience again!
Tasty food, great selection including vegan and gluten free, packed on Sunday but still good service and friendly, helpful staff, well done.
In the beautiful beachside suburb of Hampton lies the most divine cafe / restaurant. On a great corner location in the main street, Sebastian's was bustling on a busy weekday morning. This place was literally packed with locals coming in to get their coffee and brunch fix. I can see why, as the staff were so relaxed and welcoming, with big smiles and happy attitudes. Beautifully decorated with loads of natural light, and plenty of seating inside and out; Sebastian's is a lovely place to visit.
Starting with delicious, fresh juice and fabulous coffee we perused the menu and made our choices; although this was a difficult task as there were so many fabulous options. We went with the crumbed eggs and pea smash, and this dish was beautifully presented with plenty of fried pancetta, a vibrant green pea smash and perfectly crumbed eggs. I found this dish extremely satisfying with an abundance of fresh flavour and creamy and crunchy textures. The toast was so good, and the serve size was quite substantial.
For a sweet, we had the blueberry waffles which were a delicious stack of prefect crisp waffles, passion fruit curd, mango sorbet, raspberry coulis, caramelised coconut and a hazelnut crumb. Oh my, this was a fabulous plate of food. So many summery flavours with all the tropical fruits, and the bright colour was really appealing. The hazelnut crunch was so delicious, and I'm glad that the dish wasn't too sweet. The Persian fairy floss was a nice touch, and overall this was a great dish.
In an area that has numerous cafes, Sebastian's Food and Wine is a standout with it's interesting spin on cafe standards, fabulous coffee and cocktails and relaxed atmosphere. The fact that the staff are so lovely also helps to make you feel welcome, and it's clear that the locals agree with me.
I visited Sebastian Food & Wine last week and loved the vibe of the place. It was bustling with people and there’s lots of outdoor seating which I always love seeing. A very cute courtyard which is worth checking out.
The jerk chicken tacos for lunch were delicious and full of flavour. My friend had eggs Benedict with delicious thick cut bacon. A big shoutout to the hollandaise that had fresh herbs in it which made it the best hollandaise she had ever had 👏
Thanks for having us!
I can’t believe up until I had not visited the lovely Hampton area. Sebastian’s food and wine is located along Hampton street which is full of shops and food spots. This cafe is quite large in size and beautifully set out; with benches along the outside, indoor seating and then an entire outdoor seating area which is where we selected to sit. Since today was a bit mild in weather we grabbed the blankets they had and placed their gas heater near us which kept us warm.
Drinks wise my mum and I went for something different she chose a Prosecco and I had an espresso milkshake which tasted like an iced coffee. The menu has a wide variety of choices but one dish particularly took my fancy and that was the cauliflower and ricotta fritters served with two poached eggs, pumpkin spread, crunchy kale and avocado. I was not expecting them to be so huge and get three in one plate which was amazing. They were so soft to eat and melted in my mouth, they are nothing like the fritters I have previously had (so much better). The fritters paired perfectly with the eggs and the pumpkin spread acted as a sauce with the kale as a crunchy garnish.
My mum selected a dish from the specials which was the lobster burger with potato chips. The burger had a lot of flavour and the fries were crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside.
To finish off our visit we both felt like a takeaway latte and noticed the great variety of sweets they have in their display window which I would be very keen to try on my next visit!
Real rating 4.3 ⭐️
We had visited Sebastian’s Food and Wine for brunch and here’s what we had!
Fritters - zucchini and corn fritters, poached egg, rocket, feta, pea smash, beetroot hummus, dukkah, cholula sauce and roasted tomato! Wow what a combo this was and surprisingly the flavors worked! The fritters were thick and sweet and it went well with the sweetness of the smashed peas and savoriness of the beetroot hummus! It was actually well balanced out!
El benedicto - house potato rosti, baby spinach, broccolini, poached eggs and smoked salmon! The rosti was so crispy and juicy and the greens that came with it were super fresh and delicious! The addition of the smoked salmon had made it better for me with its saltiness!
Mandarin hotcake - twice baked ricotta hotcake, white chocolate sand, leatherwood ricotta whip, spiced grapes, mandarin and elderflower syrup! Wow sounds complicated right? That’s because it was complex and delicious! The hotcake was absolute fluffy and moist and the flavors went beautifully together! It’s rare to see oranges and grapes being used on a dish and this was a clever one! Who would not love this hence making it my fave for the day!
We had a fantastic time at Sebastian’s and would love to visit again!
Whether it’s smashed avo, granola, pancakes, healthy bowls ......these guys have it all! Stop by and see what all the fuss is about! Sebastian’s in the heart of Hampton is where it’s at!!
The Smashed Avocado was absolutely goals - no regrets! I mean, check out this masterpiece! 😯👏🏼
Lemon Ricotta Hotcakes 🥞🍋 Passion fruit curd, blueberries, meringue, white chocolate shavings & hibiscus syrup!
Thick & delish! This was easily my favourite dish of the day! Fluffy thick hotcake, soaked in hibiscus syrup 🌺 was next level! So well put together ~ and proportioned well in every way! I can’t wait to go back and eat this dish again
Placed right opposite Hampton station is where you will find the lovely Sebastian Food and Wine cafe. With both indoor and heated outdoor seating, it is the perfect stop for breakfast anytime of the year.
The staff were lovely and it was smiles all round. We decided to sit outdoors and it definitely was not cold at all. Keeping warm and toasty under the heating we were able to enjoy the fresh air of the seaside town.
As we went at lunch time, I went for the ‘Miso Greens’ (VEG, VO, GFO) which came with steamed greens, kale, broccolini, ginger cabbage, pickle, avocado, mung bean sprouts, toasted seeds, poached egg, nori and a light tamari dressing. I also chose to have their healthy loaf gluten free toast instead of sourdough. As it came out, it looked immediately fresh and tasty. I loved the addition of the seeds to give an extra crunch as well as the ginger cabbage that cut through the other greens on the plate to give it layers.
My mum, who attended with me, went for the ‘Avocado Smash’ (VEG, GFO) with Persian feta, fresh chilli, toasted almonds, lemon on multigrain toast. She said that is was amazing and fresh. She especially loved the ripeness of the avocado as well as the fresh chilli.
Together we shared what they call the ‘Tasting Plate’ which I think is a really cool, unique idea, especially if you are someone that struggles to decide. It comes with:
- Cauliflower fritter, kale, pumpkin hummus
- Sriracha maple glazed bacon, smashed avo, poached egg
- Choc raspberry waffle, vanilla custard & raspberry ice cream
Both of us loved all the elements and the fact that we could taste a little bit of everything. But we give major complements to the chef on the maple bacon, which as my mum stated was ‘the best bacon [we] have had in a long time’ She couldn’t stop talking about it all the way home.
The staff were so nice and I appreciated all their hospitality. It really lifted the cafe and its food. Which was already amazing in its self. I give high praise to everyone involved with and working at this lovely cafe in the heart of Hampton.
When in Hampton, go to Sebastian’s Cafe! Cozy, warm, lots of seating and always busy when we visit. Came in on a Friday afternoon with my brother and Nana and was immediately greeted by all the passing staff upon entrance. Coffee to begin with certainly warmed the insides. Lovely 🙂 Ordered the Wagyu beef burger (added an egg) in a soft, milky bun with fat boy chips and was certainly left satisfied 😍 Kinda like playing full back and exposing the 5-3-2 formation by getting beyond the wing backs... very happy 😊 portions were very generous as well. Great vibes and hella chilled. Recommend 👍🏼
We headed to Hampton for the first time on Sunday. Sebastian’s Food & Wine is in the perfect location, close to public transport and also within walking distance to the beach.
Loved the menu! Plenty of vegan friendly dishes, as well as the classic breakfast staples - something for everyone! We ordered the Breakfast Bowl and Rolled Oat Quinoa Porridge, with a side of toast.
The Breakfast Bowl came with house made granola, acai coyo (heaven!), mandarin, raspberries, cacao nibs, banana, freeze dried raspberries and almond milk. Everything was perfectly balanced! The granola to yoghurt ratio was on point, always an important factor! Loved the addition of the freeze dried raspberries and cacao nibs - the extra crunch topped it off!
However, the Rolled Oat Quinoa Porridge was the stand out! Served hot, and perfect for Melbourne Winter. It came with mixed berry compote, hazelnut crumb, organic maple, freeze dried raspberries - heaven! My friend and I love porridge, and both agreed it was one of the best we’ve tried. The berry compote complimented the dish, and we loved the hazelnut crumb. JUST RIGHT (see what I did there).
Sourdough toast was fresh, perfectly toasted, and came with generous servings of salted butter and PB.
All of the dishes were presented beautifully! Prices were reasonable, with portions being on the larger side. Good value for money.
Also, VERY DOG FRIENDLY! Lots of dogs. If you love dogs in addition to good food, you will be in your element! Service was 10/10 - everyone was so lovely.
We loved our breakfast here!

If youre bayside and looking for somewhere new to try with fabulous coffee, a great, well executed menu, super friendly staff and WINE - you need to check this out.
Sebastians is really well set up with lots of seating inside and some lovely tables on the street and a HUGE covered, heated courtyard. They welcome both young and fury family members!
The menu offers up an all day breakfast with some great original options plus all the Melbourne faves youd expect to see at a great cafe, plus some more hearty lunch dishes (and alcohol) from 11am. They also have a good range of vegan, gluten and dairy free options.
We loved the sound of the El Benedicto - potato rosti with spinach, broccolini, poached eggs and Bernaise with either shaved ham or smoked salmon. The Wild Mushroom omelette with King Island triple brie and white truffle sauce sounds amazing, as does the Miso Greens bowl and the Bacon Butty.
I couldnt pass up the dairy free Blueberry bircher with delicious saffron poached pear and caramelised buckini. The chilli chorizo scramble was definitely a winner - a big pile of fluffy scramble with a nice meaty chorizo and brightly coloured mexican style veg.
For those with a sweet tooth, give the Mandarin Hotcakes a try. Id never had anything like this before - it was the consistency of sponge cake with a beautifully creamy leatherwood ricotta whip and a sweet mandarin and elderflower syrup. Delicious and not sickly sweet.
Thanks for having us team!
Absolutely wonderful cafe! Very kind and friendly staff. Beautiful rays of sunshine hitting the store front, five minutes from the beach and delicious food! What more could you ask for?
We tried:
- The Avocado Smash, what great flavour combined with Persian fetta and fresh chilli and toasted almonds - to die for!!!
- El Benedicto, my personal fav! Slow cooked beef brisket, fresh spinach, perfectly poached eggs topped with a smoked paprika hollandaise - all I can say is WOW!
- Waffles, a delicious mix of chocolate and raspberry waffles served with vanilla custard, raspberry icecream, caramelised almonds and Persian fairy floss. - great combination of flavours!!! So delicious!
Food was amazing, full of flavour and a perfect serving worth, we cannot wait to go back!!!!
Hadn’t been to Sebastian’s for quite some time. The food never disappoints and it’s always a happening atmosphere when we’re here. Great coffee!!!!
We visited Sebastian's the other day and were absolutely in love! We were blessed with sunshine amongst a cold Winter's day but were warmed by the outdoor heating and blankets this cafe provides. They even have a cosy courtyard with plenty of greenery. We chose to eat the Mandarin Ricotta hotcakes and Quinoa Porridge which were both absolutely divine and packed with flavour. We couldn't decide which to eat first but both were devoured quite quickly! The Mandarin syrup that comes with the hotcakes was so flavoursome and cut through the batter of the hotcake. It was a great, citrus touch.
We also enjoyed a Banana Smoothie with cinnamon and coconut which was a light refreshment to cut through the sweetness of our meals.
We loved the atmosphere and the location of the cafe and we definitely plan to visit again soon!
Our favourite go to brunch spot, love the brekkie board, always good service and have lots of good choices. Fairly priced and enjoy visiting!

I visited Sebastian’s Food & Wine on a lovely Friday afternoon with a dear friend. We were amazed by the seating options and just how many tables there were. The cafe was ideally located right near the station with plenty of parking surrounding. The staff were lovely and accommodating from the get go. We ordered a delicious spread of vegan gluten free food to enjoy & loved every single dish. We choose the porridge, Bircher and the bruschetta which were all presented well, large portion sizes and absolutely delicious! The Bircher was full of flavour and topped with loads of fruits & seeds, the bruschetta was fresh & vibrant with delicious flavours throughout & the porridge was the perfect winter warmer topped with fresh fruit to sweeten! I loved this beautiful cafe & cannot wait to visit again soon. Definitely recommend for anyone who wants a beautiful brunch or lunch spread! Thanks for having us!
This place has an amazing courtyard which is perfect for sunny Melbourne days. We tried the iced chai, the mango smoothie and the green power smoothie – which were all delicious.
To eat we had the mandarin ricotta hotcakes, the fritters and the bruschetta. All of the dishes were absolutely packed with flavour and were perfectly presented as well.
It’s such a great brunch spot for those living bayside!

We dined on Queens Birthday Public Holiday for lunch. Service was great, we were seated in the very end booth which was ideal as we had our 3 month old daughter with us.
We had a light lunch, steak tartare to share followed by the lamb with pumpkin. Everything was delicious, with the only complaint being that the food took ages to come out.
Service was excellent, and our young waiter Sam was a great host.
All in all, a great experience.
Bracing the cold winter chill I headed to Sebastian's food and wine for brunch choosing to sit indoors.
As a sweetooth I ordered a matcha latte, fruit toast and there was no going past the mandarin hotcakes.
The mandarin sauce was rich and flavoursome and tied the dish perfectly together.
Seeming almost planned the sun decided to show itself as soon as the food came out making it feel very cozy by the window.
Staff are lovely and can't wait to come back already.
Thanks for having me 😍😍
A warm and inviting cafe
I came here to do some work and have some breakfast. I enjoyed the miso greens while I watched the rain come down outside.
The food was delicious! Yummy greens a hit of Asian inspired flavours and a good portion size.
The coffee was pretty good.
The young staff seem a little like they don’t want to be there and barely got a look in the eye.
Overall, a nice breakfast and warm and comfortable cafe.
Came here to brunch on a Saturday and it was packed. Love that they have heaters in the courtyard so we did not mind sitting outside.
We got one of the Specials which was the pulled pork egg benny on french croissant and the Wild mushroom omelette along with a Latte and their Calmer sutra chai latte.
The french croissant was so flaky and just yum as well as the mushroom omelette. Presentation are nice and simple.
Great service and location to brunch near the coast. Highly recommend!
Thank you Sebastians for our lovely meals. You had made our brunch experience a treat. The Chilli Scrambled Eggs were so colourful and flavoursome and the Spanish Chicken was incredibly tasty. I highly recommend this place 😁
What a beautiful cafe Sebastian’s Food & Wine is!! I went on a Friday afternoon quite late thinking it was going to be really quiet (it wasn’t). I sat outside in the pretty courtyard and I was lucky to get a table. But service was fast, attentive and so impressive. I ordered a few specials but I did struggle to decide as their menu has so many delicious options.
Thank you so much! I would love to visit you guys again soon 😊💗

Loving the vibe and decor at Sebastians! The team is really friendly and welcoming too.
The breaky, lunch and drinks menus are all varied, you're bound to find something for everyone!
We tried the FALAFEL BURRITO and the MISO GREENS. Both dishes were tasty, fresh and satisfying!!
The beet juice and green smoothie were so refreshing.
Would love to go back to try more veggie dishes!
I walked into Sebastions thinking it was a small cafe but what I got was a full on, hustlin’ & bustlin’ cafe in Hampton with an amazing vibe.
An absolute must are the hotcakes, they have them down pat 😍😍
Coffee is amazing. Just need to catch some one ! Amazing feed, amazing place❤️
Sebastion’s Food and Wine is a well-know café in Hampton Bayside conveniently located right next to Hampton Station.
We came here for lunch and we were absolutely blown away at how busy the place was! The venue has an amazing and spacious courtyard as well as plenty of seating both inside and outside the front. It was very hard to choose from their extensive menu as it all looked so good. We ordered the Warm Buddha Bowl, The Medley Tomato Bruschetta, Onion Rings and the Chicken Sandwich. For drinks, we had coffee.
The Bruschetta tasted beautiful, you don’t always see a bruschetta on a café menu but I was very pleased. The tomato was fresh, the seasoning was perfect and egg was cooked well. The Warm Buddha Bowl tasted absolutely wonderful - the cranberries, chickpeas and the tahini dressing definitely gave the dish that extra kick of flavour. This was one of the Vegan options on the menu which my companion was pleased about. The Chicken and Avocado Sandwich was scrumptious - the chicken was cooked well and the avocado was perfectly ripe. The Onion Rings were crunchy and hot and both coffees were great - couldn’t complain.
We found the customer service to be exceptional - both waiters who served us were obliging, eager to please and catered to our requests. We had an exceptional experience at Sebastion’s and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend coming here for your next meal.
They’re open 7 days a week and not to forget that they’re fully licensed serving a large selection of wines and beers!
I was invited to try Sebastian’s Food & Wine in the beautiful suburb of Hampton - not my usual neighbourhood but so pretty and close to the sea! The cafe is very conveniently located next to the station and is narrow but large, with plenty of seating outside and in a courtyard - oh and they are pet friendly too.
The menu is impressively large with plenty of vegetarian, vegan and a few gluten free options as well. I had the Medley Tomato Bruscetta ($19) which I loved as it is quite an unusual brunch dish, with a heap of fresh tomatoes and balsamic reduction, avocado, goats curd and poached eggs on multigrain bread. Super refreshing and delicious. My friend had the El Benedicto ($21), a house made potato rosti with broccolini, poached eggs, bearnaise sauce and your choice of smoked salmon or shaved ham. This was delicious and a pretty generous serve.
We shared the Lemon Ricotta Hotcake ($19.50) which was definitely the star of the show. It had a lovely light and fluffy texture and was paired with passionfruit curd, fresh blueberries and strawberries, meringue, white chocolate and a super delicious hibiscus syrup. This was a perfect dessert for me as it was not too sweet.
Overall Sebastian’s is a fantastic cafe that complements its beachside locale perfectly with a strong focus on fresh produce with minimal fuss.
SEBASTIAN’S FOOD AND WINE
Such a cute local cafe spot! Right next to the station so super easy to get too if you don’t drive.
SPACE: the venue is a bit cramped, especially when it’s full, and there isn’t much outdoor seating. I recommend getting a corner table or a table outside if weather permits 😊
FOOD: I had the El Benedicto and the Hotcakes, and my brunch date enjoyed the Breakfast Bruschetta
Let me start off by saying the HOTCAKES were out of this world! Absolutely delicious. It is one fluffy "cake' that is served. Honestly it melts in your mouth with every bite. It is served with fruit and hibiscus syrup and is absolutely delicious, my only issue with it… it was too small, I wanted more more more!! I’d get this as a third dish to share between two for a sweet ending to your brunch 😊
The EL BENEDICTO was also delicious. The potato rosti had a crispy coating that was so tasty! And I enjoyed the greens that came with the dish.
Although I didn’t personally taste the BRUSCHETTA, my brunch date definitely enjoyed it! It comes with A LOT of plump and juicy cherry tomatoes!
Overall I would definitely come here again :) It’s a great local spot that is clearly loved, and they have some fantastic dishes on the menu!

I got to visit this lovely place in tucked away in Hampton! Great staff with impeccable service and great food - what more could you ask for? 💖
Came down here for lunch the other day and I enjoyed every single dish 🙌🏼
~The falafel burrito was so flavourful and those sweet potato fries were super crispy
~ the Buddha bowl was super filling, fresh and delicious
~ the hotcakes went really nicely with the lemon curd and it wasn’t overly sweet which was nice.
Overall a very pleasant and delicious experience . The only downside was that being situated next to a train station meant that it could get a bit loud at times

What a perfect little spot to enjoy a lazy brunch. Filled with natural light and plenty of seating inside and outside, I enjoyed our visit to Sebastian’s immensely! The coffee and Spritzer were both perfect and the staff very friendly. Close to the train station it’s easily accessible from the City.
The Hotcake was incredible, I loved the addition of the little Hibiscus flower which tasted so good! The Hotcake was fluffy and sweet with just the right amount of fruit!
We also enjoyed the bruschetta and while I loved the addition of the goats cheese, I would have loved the balsamic to have been tossed through The tomatoes and basil to give it more moisture. Plenty of avocado was given too which made me so happy!
The Eggs Benedict with Salmon was cooked perfectly and I loved the hash that came with it - incredible!
I looked forward to popping back in shortly!
I really loved this cafe in Hampton! The food was fresh & really tasty! They have lots of indoor & outdoor seating! The avocado bruschetta was the dish of the day!
Came here on a beautiful hot summers day. We came early at 9.30 and didn't expect it to be so packed! Located just behind the Hampton Train station is this relaxing cafe with both an outdoor area at the front and a courtyard at the back.
What we had....
Chilli Chorizo Scramble - This Scramble was packed with Chrizo!(my fav). This is definitely a huge scramble with 2 slices of toast and the perfect chilli samba.
El Benedicto - I always love a good eggs benny and this dish hit the spot. The house potato rosti and double poached eggs was perfect with the smoked salmon.
Our Sweet tooth.....
Lemon Ricorra Hotcake - We ate this hotcake at the end and it was still standing in 1 piece. It had fully absorbed the flavours and with fresh passionfruit on top of this hotcake it was the perfect summer hotcake.
What we drank....
Fruit non alcoholic spritzer were the perfect summer drink. We had the pink grapefruit and lemon one. Both were not too sweet.
We visited on a Sunday, we sat out in the courtyard which is open and spacious area so we didn’t feel crammed in. We ordered the hotcakes, fritters and the ham hock eggs benny. All the dishes were tasty and had a very rustic feel to it.
Sebastian’s Food & Wine is located on Hampton Street, right next to Hampton Station. With a great corner location, there is plenty of seating out on the street as well as a large leafy courtyard out the back. My friend & I visited on a busy Saturday morning & it was clearly a very popular spot with customers lining up for tables & take away coffees.
We sat outside as it was a warm day & started with coffee & an iced latte. The iced latte was one of the best I’ve had, a huge glass packed with ice & quality coffee. We ordered a few dishes to share & a couple of spritzers.
The chilli chorizo scramble was a fantastic dish, served with an edamame & corn salsa, air dried ricotta, chilli sambal & crispy crackle crumbs, it was packed with flavour & we both loved this dish.
The island greens breakfast gave us all the healthy vibes with spinach, steamed kale, broccolini, green beans & snowpeas that had been tossed in a lemon olive oil. This was a great combination of veggies & the dressing was divine.
We finished with the orange blossom Bircher, a very pretty dish with plenty of fruit and the perfect end to our meal.
Another highlight was the spritzers. With 4 to choose from we tried the pink grapefruit with orange & passionfruit and the lemon, elderflower, lime & mint. These spritzers were so refreshing for a warm day & made a nice change from juices & smoothies.
The staff were so lovely & friendly & managed the large number of customers with ease. Sebastian’s food & wine is a bustling cafe with impressive food & we really loved our visit, thanks so much for having us.
Sebastian’s Food & Wine is a bustling cafe by day conveniently located next to Hampton Station. With plenty of seating options, inside, outside out the front and out the back in the courtyard we opted to take advantage of the good weather and sit in the courtyard. The courtyard is large and spacious making it perfect for large groups, the day we were dining there were a few long tables having Christmas celebrations.
Visiting for breakfast we opted for the Orange blossom Bircher and avocado smash with added and poached eggs and bacon. To drink we ordered a coffee and a mango smoothie.
When it comes to brunching in Melbourne nothing beats a good smashed avo and Sebastian’s didn’t disappoint. The dish was packed full of flavour with feta, chilli & lemon and beetroot hummus. I highly recommend you add the poached eggs which were perfectly poached and if you’re still hungry a side of bacon. The orange blossom bircher was beautifully presented and packed full of fruit and flavour. The mango smoothie was a great refreshing way to start a warm summer’s day.
Overall I was very impressed with Sebastian’s Food and Wine, the food was great, service was excellent and the location is handy. I give them 4.5 ⭐️ out of 5 and recommend that you check them out if you’re in the area. Thanks very much for having me.
I received an invitation to visit Sebastian’s for the first time last weekend - and as soon as I looked at the menu I was super excited - I didn’t know how I was going to choose what to order!
First up, I arrived and met my friend there- the staff were lovely and accommodating, catering for our request to change tables to be outside. They were very friendly and bubbly.
Once seated we started off with a hot latte and an iced latte. I have never been a fan of iced coffee, but this one was divine. Sooo icy and the coffee did not taste TOO strong. This was definitely a winner! We also ordered 2 of the fruit spritzers, the lemon one and the grapefruit one. These were absolutely delicious and refreshing on such a humid and muggy day.
Now for the fooooood!!! Being the hungry ladies we are, we ordered 3 dishes to share. For savoury, we ordered the Chilli Chorizo Scramble and the Island Greens Breakfast (with smoked salmon added). The Chilli Chorizo Scramble was incredible - so flavoursome and the little crackle crumbs were DELISH. For ‘dessert’ we had the Orange Blossom Bircher. This was so refreshing and delicious for a warm day. A beautiful vanilla flavour with a hint of citrus, and lots of lovely fruit.
All in all a wonderful experience, and I wish I lived closer so I could come back and visit more frequently! It was definitely worth the drive :-)
Absolutely loved this cafe!! The food was reasonably priced and good portion sizes. The Mac and Cheese bites were next never and a must have!! All the food we ordered was flavoursome and filling. The coffee was very good and so were the other drinks we got. Overall a must go to cafe with so many options for everyone.
Hampton’s hidden gem! I visited Sebastian’s food & wine for the first time this weekend. I was impressed by the spacious green courtyard & variety of food! We enjoyed the yummy eggs Benedict, Fritters & Hot cakes!!
Delicious coffee. Beautiful cafe with indoor and outdoor seating
Located very close to Hampton station and recreation trackside gym.
Full breakfast menu and dome baked goods.
Sebastian’s with its perfect location beside the railway and close to the Hampton beach offers choices of outside leafy courtyard; outside with woofs and plenty of inside options at tables or banquettes is a very welcoming destination.
Friendly and helpful young staff and clever kitchen offerings that cater to allergy or specialised dietary needs make finding something on the menu very accessible and the coffee is great, if Turmeric Lattes or Chia isn’t hitting the spot after protein smoothies or fresh juices.
Breakfast favourite Coconut & Quinoa Porridge is just perfect - not too sweet and oh, so pretty!
Lunch specials are amazing and change weekly and burgers and drinks on Thursday and Friday evenings is fantastic.
A well-known bike destination with specialised bike rack makes the weekend very colourful and exciting!
If your in the area, stop in and say hi and enjoy an exciting experience among friendly welcoming ambience.
I’m here most mornings as absolutely LOVE my Almond Latte... best coffee... my weakness and my kickstart!! And lunches on a Wednesday - so many wonderful choices but I keep sneaking in the signature chicken sandwich. The beautiful and welcoming staff makes Sebastian’s my go to every time - they truly look after their patrons 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Went in on Saturday and I must say wow! That chilli chorizo scramble was on point.
Exactly what the doctor ordered. The wife was also pleased with the buddha bowl being vegan and GF she just ordered it without the egg. Thank you
I took my team for a staff luncheon here and it was AMAZING! Great service, excellent food, perfect coffee and great vibe. We didnt have to wait too long as we were on a time constraint,. Worth trying out! A great place to sit and quietly read the paper or work on your lap top too. Well done Sebastians!
Very cosy environment with helpful staff. Pleasantly surprised with the quality and selection of dishes.
Went with the staple eggs benedict and smoked salmon but instead of toast, a rosti was added. I think will definitely come back for their all day breakfast.
I ate the Buddha bowl here in the outside courtyard. It was about $16 or so as I recall, and I felt it was good value for how large and filling it was. Service was a bit slow but they were very busy, and the atmosphere was very pleasant, very upbeat.
Sebastian's is by far my favourite cafe! Prompt and friendly staff, great coffee and amazing food! The corn fritters are one of my all time favourites and the fresh juice is always a yummy compliment !
Have been enjoying breakfasts every weekend here for the last few weeks and have been loving it! The French toast is the perfect size and fits my sweet tooth perfectly! Always served by enthusiastic and young staff, we will return!
Came here to celebrate my birthday and the staff made sure I felt special. They were all very smiley and kind, particularly two staff members - I believe their names were Alice and Hamish. Food and coffee was delicious as well! Would highly recommend, they made it a wonderful experience!
I had the toastie with sourdough and it was the perfect meal. The service was also wonderful - I think their names were Hamish and Alice. Both were friendly and attentive.
We came here for breakfast on a recommendation and are pleased we did. The staff are lovely and full of smiles. We had a generous, perfectly cooked poached eggs and bacon and a fabulously presented (and tasting) bircher muesli. It's a quiet time of year in Melbourne, but this cafe still had atmosphere with indoor, street and courtyard seating.
Recently went to try Sebastian's Food and Wine and discovered a hidden gem! My partner and I sat in the relaxing garden courtyard and both enjoyed a "Spritzer" which were refreshing. Our meals were also great, I particularly enjoyed my bacon butty which was delicious. Overall, great establishment with friendly staff and a great Atmosphere!
First time eating at Sebastians this morning. Had an amazing ginger beer which seemed to cure the hang over followed by great eggs benedict. Staff were all super friendly and new the menu well! Awesome vibe. Will definitely be back!
Great food, Great and friendly service, and a really nice venue to soak up the sun.
I hardly noticed the train line nearby because I was so immersed in my food.
Would recommend to anyone.
Terrific food and great coffee complemented by fine service from enthusiastic young people. The courtyard out back and proximity to rail means I can come here before work for a quick muffin and brew, and on the weekends for the hotcakes. I will return!

Easily the best eggs Benny I have ever eaten. This place is really knows what's up. Coffee was perfect, service was excellent and I'll be back for sure.
I have been a visiting Sebastian's for the last 3 years for a coffee when I'm working in the area.. The coffee is fantastic and the staff are always on the ball. I have had lovely family lunches and dates with friends there also.
The food has always been right up my alley, just beautiful real, tasty food. It visually is very attractive too (which I like) love the decor and back garden! Definatley recommend this beauty!!
Great food. No fuss. Good service. I come here all the time as it's around the corner and consistent. I just had a look through the photos above and it's made me hungry, however, it's nearly midnight and in my pantry I only have a choice between baked beans or four bean mix in a tin. If you have a choice between my menu and Sebastian's, choose Sebastian's.
By far he best spot in hampton - especially with the kids easily entertained and welcome in the courtyard watching the trains go by!
Can't go past a bacon butty for brekky or the avo smash!! Hubby clearly loves their eggs as he orders the same thing every single time!!!
Sebastian is one cool place in Hampton that I love going to sit on sunny days with family. (They have a lovely backyard dining area) My favorite brunch is The hot cake with mascarpone and some fruits and nuts. Coffee is good with friendly service. The location is a prime just right opposite to railway station. My recommendation is this go on weekdays and you will get the best of it.
Good Lord what a lunch. I'm new to Urban spoon but my lunch today was so good that I have to say something!
I had the special of the day and it was delicious. Preserved lemon schnitzel with apple slaw - after that and the most lovely coffee, I left a very happy woman.
Service was fast and happy. Next time I'm passing through I will make a point of stopping. Hampton is a sweet little town.
Had a great service and understanding. Came with a bunch of mums with prams and they were very accommodating - including splitting the bill with our lovely waitress recalling what we all ordered. Food was tasty. The chips and slider were a hit.
Came in for lunch today, tried the gnocchi special - love mushrooms and these were amazing and fresh. Staff were very friendly. Will be back again.
Standard Brew 7/10 for my soy latte (strong & hot). Ordered my regular large soy latte (strong and extra hot). Came out luke warm - barista happily re-made and got the temperature right the second time and milk was silky. Will return :)
