Review Sipp - Hampton

It was a really good experience there, even the weather was not really good, but all of staffs were friendly and foods were delicious. I'm sure that I will go back again.
Mike Redman
Fantastic breakfast and really great service.

Best coffee in Hampton! Lucy and the rest of the staff will delight you!
Pablenou
Coffee was pretty good but the food was just uninspiring with no effort in presentation, and also the way the owner treats the staff working there was really unpleasant to watch while I was having my food. I went there to enjoy my food in a happy vibes but it was hard to enjoy in such unhappy environment as she was yelling at her staff the whole time.

Of the 20 or so cafes within a kilometre radius, this is My Local. The best coffee, the best, happiest staff and the best chips and chicken burger. A real community vibe driven by Naomi's astute search for customer happiness through smart service offerings - namely: good opening hours, good coffee, good food and good service.
Isabelle Duquennois
We love coming here! The coffee is spot on and the courtyard a pure haven!
Barry Buirski
At the SIPP Cafe having this delicious chicken sandwich. Come on down!
Cheryl Bishop
Love their raspberry muffins! And their coffee! Service is always very good and welcoming. Wish they had a loyalty card tho

The dips were nice, the meat platter was cold and it was old meat that had been re heated. $5 for a can of Coke is a bit expensive. Overall $100 for 2 people was too much we could not eat the cold re heated meat.
Sandy Spanos
The dips arrive and 15 mins later the pitta after we asked. The rest of entree arrives another 15 mins later. The meat was dry and not pleasant and when we asked why the food was bought in dribs and drabs advised they are understaffed. Looked like there were more staff than customers but totally disorganised.

Great venue great food great staff and very filling, would recommend it very highly to others I'll be going back
Patricia Addamo
The scallops were way to cooked dry rubbery and no flavour - the sausages were nice but that's about it! All our other courses were too dry without any flavour - never going back!
Sola Tesimale
Amazing food! Great service! You definitely get your money's worth with the banquet selections. What's even better is, the take away option when you can't finish your meal. We will definitely be back!
Debbie King
Have been going there for years and l still love it there ..best greek food ever..and there potatoes are to die for...highly recommended Nobel's

Been many times, very tasty Greek food, nicely priced, nice size portions, great staff, highly recommend.

Had a booking at 7pm was told table was Nearly ready, 7:30 still no table. Walked off telling the owner to cancel he looked and ignored us and kept cooking.
Paula Cucurullo McLean
Very happy with the food, enjoyed the evening, friendly staff 😘

This used to be a great cafe and may still be ok during the week, however on weekends, they now refuse to split bills and will instead suggest you find an ATM. This is disappointing given many cyclists and other groups of friends used to sit down for coffee, but now they can’t as it’s too difficult to pay. <br/><br/>Freshly baked muffins and slices are delicious and there’s a good variety of milks to be ordered with coffee.

First time be here with friends. Very convenient location with a spacious backyard. The coffee is great. The staff are friendly and helpful.

I wasn't going to write a review but after my second visit and observing the same behaviour I had too, its been sitting on my mind for months now. The owner or manager (not sure which one she is) here is incredibly rude and condescending, especially to her staff. The way I overheard her speaking to them is unacceptable. I will NEVER dine in an establishment that cannot respect the workers who make the place run. <br/><br/>On my first visit that I observed this, I brushed it off because everyone has bad days right? When I observed the same behaviour on my second visit, as well as how the staff reacted (they seemed nervous & scared around her) I decided to never come back. There's a bunch of lovely cafe on this street and I would advise trying them first!
Peter Stewart
Great location and food ok. There were 2 things we asked for that required reminders - 1 we just ended up giving up on. Not all of the staff but we were served by someone who I would describe as rude, fill with bad attitude, and sadly lacking the necessary customer service skills for this industry.

Beautiful cafe in Hampton near the train station.<br/>We sat outside out the back and there was plenty of space and the decor was nice.<br/>Staff were super attentive and friendly.<br/>Drinks and then meals came out quickly. <br/>Chai latte was delicious.<br/>For breakfast we had the rose poached pear and Bircher museli and the blueberry hot cakes. <br/>The Bircher was presented beautifully and tasted amazing. So many different components that complimented each other well. The hot cakes were also delicious and the staff allowed us to make modifications to the order to remove parts that weren’t wanted. <br/>Definitely will be going back if in the area again.

Sipp is always a good option for brunch or lunch! The food and service are consistently good and after trying a number of items on the menu, there has been no meal that has not impressed us.

Used to enjoy this cafe but since it’s changed owners/managers feel it’s gone downhill a bit. Too many great options on Hampton st to visit somewhere that’s mediocre.

Such a lovely little cafe! Love the name! The yellow branding definitely stood out for a distance. Great location in Hampton. Great service the girl that served me was so pleasant and attentive. When they put a book in front of me for the menu I was excited took me back to my childhood! Love the idea! Food came really quick! Coffee was well made and tasted great. The menu could have been a little more exciting otherwise the breakfast was plated and presented so well. Perfectly toasted bread with perfectly poached eggs and a well balanced beetroot relish

I find Hampton to be really coming along with good cafes, and Sipp is certainly on the list of mine. Food looks and tastes great, Coffee is above average, and the friendly staff make each visit a pleasure. Atmosphere is great to grab a bite and relax (especially in the courtyard),  and take some time out of the day to forget about things. And that's all you can ask for in a cafe!

Been here a few time recently and had been really happy with the food and service but last time i went and had the paleo breakfast it just didn't meet the same standard as the last few time when I had it. The eggs were over cooked and the sweet potato hashbrown was soft and just falling apart.
Gdkf
Decent location for this cute and cozy cafe. Love the idea of menus in the classic kids books..awesome:) Cafe wasn't too busy but despite this, found ourselves still waiting a while for out food to arrive. Ordered the chilli scrambled eggs with sweet potato hashbrown and my friend the B.R.A.T. The chili scrambled eggs were pretty average! It wasn't spicy despite the name, quite bland to be honest! My friend also described her meal as just ok. Presentation was nice tho! Orange pineapple juice tasted purely orange which was disappointing!

Always good food and coffee. Being a local I have tried numerous breakfast spots along Hampton Street and after many disappointing meals I've finally settled on Sipp as my Sunday eggs and bacon. The service is exactly what you want - friendly but not fake and the poached eggs have always been on point.
Simon Nielsen
Best coffee on Hampton Street hands down! (and I should know, I've tried them all!) - Sipp cafe is also a solid contender for Hampton's best breakfast menu. The poached eggs are always flawless, white puffy clouds with bright yellow sunny yolks that ooze perfectly into chewy sourdough. You can't go wrong with the avocado and feta smash (with a side of lemon), two poached eggs and bacon - add coffee and you've got the perfect Sunday starter.

Walked into Sipp for the first time, trying their T/W coffee. My latte was nice to start off my day. Cool fit out and super friendly service make my experience more pleasant. Will definitely come back for breakfast and recommended to you all. Keep up the good work guys !
Hungry Vego
Great little cafe in Hampton that is at its best during warmer weather, when you can enjoy the outdoor seating at the back. A good range of food and fairly happy to adapt the menu to suit. Good staff and good food.

Top Hampton café. Lovely little spot with great decor, service, food, coffee. Beer garden out back! "Bonsoy"drinkers, frankly harden up!
Alex Boston
Great coffee. Very friendly. I will nip over the train lines to work to get a coffee before heading into Richmond. They even give you a little biscuit with the takeaway.
Rodney - Villa D'Este
Recommend by a friend. Welcomed at door, quick good cafe latte at the table followed by eggs with beans, chopped bacon and onions in a light tomato sauce, tasty. Music is piped in from a house compilation, my foot involentary taps. How cool is the water station set up.

Great coffee and fresh yummy lunches. Service is excellent and efficient. Courtyard is lovely in warmer weather but does have heaters for the brave in winter! Best cafe in Hampton! Love it!
Redkapha
What a shame Sipp doesn't use Bonsoy soy milk for coffee! Their excuse is "its more expensive"....Seriously?! Customers are charged $0.50 extra anyway, it covers the cost esp for a better quality soy milk. Now I go to Eclair French cafe (nearby) instead. Will only go back to Sipp when they use the right soy milk. Food & service is ok.
Farizouille
Best cafe in Hampton street. I have tried a lot of cafes in the Hampton / Brighton area and I can definitely say that Sipp is by far the best cafe in the area . <br/>Food is amazing, really tasty and quite reasonably priced. <br/>Service is fantastic, the staff is friendly and go over and beyond to make sure you have a great time
Burgers Of Melbourne
Burger Order: Beef Burger – 1 x Beef Patty, Lettuce, Tomato, Cheese, Bacon, Pickle, Tomato Relish, Mayonaise – $15.50 <br/><br/>Burger Rating: 7.1 / 10<br/><br/>Comments: A small cafe on Hampton street with a cool courtyard out the back. <br/><br/>Sipp is not known for burgers and only has the one on the menu. The burger itself it quite small and if I were to order again I would 100% add a second patty into it as it tasted really good. Not a burger worth travelling across Melbourne for, but if you are in or around Hampton and you are after a good snack, this is a good between lunch and dinner meal. <br/><br/>The post Sipp – Hampton appeared first on Burgers of Melbourne .

Yet another great lunch. Pulled pork bun, steak sandwich, coffees and juice, all awesome again !!!

Surprisingly good. Was passing through Melb on a driving day trip and stopped in here to 'refuel' . Coffee was really really good- highly recommend. Steak sandwich filled the void- very filling and satisfying. Was so impressed with the place I was prompted to write in! I would make this ( one of my) local haunts if I lived in Melb. Will be back!

Lovely. Had brunch with my young son. Food was delicious, service was very good and we enjoyed ourselves. Will definitely return.

Honestly this place amazing.. Wow this place would have to be the best cafe in Hampton right now... Had no idea it was here! Atomica coffee great. The poached eggs have that really yellow look and taste amazing. I think they must be free range. And we have just found our summer place for Sunday afternoon lunch and drinks they do all weekend $4 beers Coronas and Heineken and think crownies.

Slow service, and fake niceties from the owner irritated me throughout my meal. The wait was lengthy and we were rushed impatiently and rudely by the owner before leaving. The food was nice but overpriced.
Jessica
We eat here nearly every weekend. The food is always delicious and service is always great. Best cafe on Hampton Street!
Rachael Henderson
Eggs and bacon terrible. Worst eggs and bacon. I asked for crispy bacon and got the long streaky bits no eye of the rash bits which I think it poor. When I asked they said I don't know and never got back to me. The eggs were tasteless. Bad experience and won't be going back. The oj was ok though.
Coffee Snob
Came to this cafe today- hadn't been for a few months. Had the best coffee I've had in a long time. The barista Mercedes was very friendly. Will be back again!

Have had breakfast at sipp on sundays for last 3months.. Went in on the weekend and very disapointing.. Very bland food, no seasoning and eggs over cooked, my partner had the roast pumpkin, pumpkin was still partly raw and burnt aswell, spinach was burnt and eggs over cooked.. Staff were rude. Will not be going back for a long time and will let others no. The warm welcome seems to hav dissapared over the last month..

Great Vibe. Love this Cafe. Great Coffee. Great Service, especially from owner. To many delicious choices on Menu. Freshly baked cakes/muffins looked yummy. Be sure to get there, next you're in Hampton.
Foodie With Ideas..
Brought a coffee takeaway from these guys today, they short poured my milk by a large amount, which ended in a bitter and undervalued coffee add that to the rude service the owner gave me I won't be back again.. Cafe ownership is not rocket science

Bright & cheerful. Travelled from Balwyn for 2pm appointment. Checked urban spoon beforehand and decided to try Sipp. Was not disappointed. It really lived up to expectations, interesting venue, delicious food, great coffee......and the staff first rate and very attentive. Met owner who was most welcoming.....all in all first rate experience.<br/>Would highly recommend after browsing at other cafes in the street. Well done.

Crappy hot chocolate. Ordered a hot chocolate and it was so bland and terrible. It's not that I was expecting it to be 5 star or anything but there was no chocolate taste at all and it tasted like a warm, slightly flavoured milk. Wasn't even hot. Don't think ill go back to sipp, very disappointing.
Julien Dickson
Excellent service, great coffee and a wonderful breakfast. Highly recommend.

Very impressed that sipp is now open on a Friday nights, with a great menu selection, finally a great place to enjoy a beer at the end of a busy working week

GREAT PLACE - FUNKY CAFE & GREAT SERVICEV. Visited this place for coffee and decided to stay for breakfast. Coffee was smelling great the the menu was simple but great, I chose the Museli, it came out in an Old Preserve Glass Jar with lid, great presentation and thought.<br/>Staff are very attentive and your never left alone to long, If you eye contact they are over in a flash, great service and the food was fantastic for this great little place in Hampton, Outdoor seating out front and also a nice courtyard in the rear which gives you access if you park in the public car park out back. They certainly think out of the box when presenting the food which shows they want to be that little bit different, definitely worth a visit and they have upstairs for small functions or gathering as well. Pop in and say hell to the Owner Naomi she will greet you with a warm smile and great food and service.

Good food, coffee and service....without some of the attitude of other cafes on the street

Love the happy vibes sipp has going! Service is great and relaxed with beautiful coffee to start the day with, fresh juices and delicious breakfast! Totally recommend this cafe! Recommend the Egyptian eggs!! Good start to the day!
Happy Fish
Ordered a lamb burger and chips take away. But surprised me they use the take away plastic bag from Safeway, make my lunch looks not yummy. 10 box chips no any sauce with it. Until I asked, they put tomato sauce in a coffee cup for me . Lamb burger the meat is Not cook enough , in the middle still a little bit red, I guess maybe chef was in a rush. Spend 20 box not a nice meal. Hope can improve soon

Beautiful place, beautiful people. Is a great place in Hampton st. The staff are always friendly (even on a busy weekend! - 10 points to Gryffindor!). The coffee is yum(!) and I have not experienced disappointing food. Is gorgeous. (Steak sandwich is my recommendation. My goodness. Or there is always a cheeky little muffin - House-made, different flavours all the time. Love it!) <br/><br/>These guys are doing it right. I especially love the small jars of flowers on the tables. Those small things really make a difference for me.

Best In Hampton Street. Friendly & fast service. Consistently good coffee. Best chips in town!

Love it!. After waiting 10 mins for my gross, overpriced coffee across the road, I discovered Sipp.<br/><br/>Very friendly staff. Great coffee. Will return!<br/><br/>Was very surprised to find a new gem in Hampton street

Very disappointing. Had a very mediocre lunch here last weekend. Service was non-existent, and the food was unfortunately bland and (I suspect) not entirely fresh. For what I paid, I probably could have bought a comparable microwave meal at the local supermarket. Particularly disappointing as I had a fantastic brunch here with a girlfriend several months ago. On a positive note, the coffee was quite nice. But given the other superior options in the area, I doubt I'll be back.

Went in on wednesday for lunch.. Amazing service and coffee, and was very busy.. Food was amazing my partner had the steak sandwich and has been talking about it ever since.. I had the vietnamese chicken roll.. Very tasty and would recomend it.. All up a brillant experience and will be going back forsure..

Great new spot for breakfast with a twist. Delicious coffee, the all day breakfast menu leaves diners spoilt for choice. For something different try the eggs pistachio, a Sunday morning treat. My friend had the Sipp Breakfast Beans with confit duck and was blown away. Sipp is licensed and has an upstairs bar with fantastic function facilities, a great space for bigger groups. The courtyard area has had a recent facelift and is open, inviting, and the perfect setting to have a coffee, or three.

Good food, nice courtyard. First time here yesterday, had never really noticed it before even though I walk past it all the time. Sat in courtyard out the back, nice atmosphere, good music. Small menu but interesting options. Partner had chicken sandwich with leek, mushroom, avocado - very good. I had poached eggs on toast with spinach and some goats milk feta rolled in chopped pistachio nuts, smooth, creamy and lovely . Eggs were perfect and the cheese & pistachios were delicious and elevated it to something much better than average. Service quick and friendly. Coffee good. Will go back to try some of the other items on the menu that took my fancy.

Finally we have a local hot spot!. Firstly, best coffee in Hampton. Hands down. <br/>The service is always bubbly and friendly, plus it's much faster than some of the other cafes in the area; I don't know what the people below are sulking about. <br/>I had a muffin and my gal-pal had some sort of fabulous salad - both were delicious. <br/>I'm sending everyone I know!
Nat
Yummy breakky. The service was great, good coffee and the pumpkin, pine nut and haloumi eggs were delicious. Highly recommend, nice interior, the courtyard looks cute too. Thank you :)

I really enjoyed it. The service was quick and fast. It was perfect portion size and the front of house staff were polite and able to answer any questions you may have.

Just done breakie at Sipp Cafe in Hampton. It was peak hour on a Sat morning around 10 AM. We ordered two cooked breakfasts which only took 10 minutes to arrive. Two poached eggs just runny enough with heaps of bacon on two big slabs of toast for only $11.50 is pretty good value I reckon. Service was friendly, efficient without bring in your face. I loved the decor with rustic floors and walls, cool prints and cushions with relaxed music not too loud. Hostess was really friendly and welcoming, a great way to start the weekend. Breakie goes all day which is a plus! Lunch menu is inviting- always something different on offer. Definitely on my radar to keep going back. Well done Sipp!

SIPP has vivified Hampton Street's vapid breakfast offerings with a trendy cafe that delivers consistent coffee and nice food. Shaky start upon opening its doors but I know what that's like as I've opened a cafe before and it does take a couple of weeks to find your pace. Food isn't rapidly flying out of the kitchen but who cares? This place is lovely enough to sit in and it's only in our first world arrogance that we expect things yesterday. The staff are friendly to boot. I think it's deplorable to start an Urbanspoon profile for a cafe just to rebuke it. Especially when I didn't see anything in that review that warranted such censure. I only had a couple of hiccups there, one when my toastie had too much butter and the other when breakfast was particularly slow in coming out which can be explained as their short order cook dropped out that morning. So two out of the more than a dozen times I've eaten here it was subpar, but as we work in a world that lives life by a law of averages, I'd say this is a success so far. Consistency will come.
Melina Scriva
Great vibe!. This place is fabulous for breaky and lunch! Funky and simple decor, Sipp is a bayside gem. The music playing in the background is retro cool! Sipp staff are great and very friendly. The food was delicious and the menu has something for everyone. I love the coffee! Sipp is a breath of fresh air for Hampton Street!
Julia Eats Melbourne
Another average (and overpriced) breakie venue for Bayside. I am always excited when a new breakfast venue opens in my local haunt but as usual I was left slightly disappointed. For $18 I had crushed avocado on toast with two sides. Firstly the toast, which I was told would be multigrain (but seemed white), tasted slightly stale despite being toasted. The crushed avocado was fine but you could barely taste the lemon and parsley mixed through. The sides were OK but once again I'm looking for a stand out when I can already get similar feeds locally for a lower price. Hopefully Sipp will improve over time because we need something different in Bayside to match some of the amazing venues in St Kilda.
Irene Elefteriadis
Had breakfast with the family there. Worst breakfast ever! Poached eggs came out like boiled eggs, bacon well over done, my spinach was brown. When I questioned the poached eggs to the waiter, he replied ' you did not ask for your eggs to be runny.' In over 30 yrs of cafe and Resturant experience I have never known poached eggs to be served like boiled lumps. Very poor service and the barista looked like she enjoyed her job,,, NOT !! Had a face like thunder. Not able to print bills for the table, you have to go to the counter and stand line to pay. Would not go again, waste of money.
Lulu
FINALLY an awesome breaky place in Hampton!!! Service was attentive, ordered a few alterations on ny meal due to diet & the waitress was extremely understanding - not making me feel like a pain in the ass! Came out as ordered. Huge serves! My new local yey!!

Great new cafe on the strip.. Was down on Hmpton st the other day when i notice a new cafe had been opened just opposite the train station called Sipp.. I decided to go in and check it out... My first impressions were great the place looke really good, earthy, rustic, was greeted by who i presume was the owner who was just lovely... i just got a takeaway coffee, cooffee was great, i will definately be back for breakfast, the courtyard looked amazing.. cheers guys.
J Robertson
Terrible! We just went there for lunch and ordered the ham cheese and relish sandwich as well as the pork on coleslaw. It took nearly an hour to be served and it wasnt even very busy. Disgusted to cut into the pork which was raw. Took it back and had it remade. The sandwich was cold, bread stale and was missing the relish. My partner still ate the sandwich how it was. I finally got my fryed pork fillets on coleslaw but was deffinatelt nothing special. Was deffinately overpriced for what it was. Service was ok and they offered me a free coffee for the bad cooking which I didnt accept. Wont be heading back here again!
Essjay
New should be good.. Perhaps it is a result of just recently opening but I cannot say anything good about this cafe. <br/>The service is incredibly awful. Twice, our waitress put the wrong food/drink in front of the wrong person.<br/>The water jug was dirty inside and out and because it was lid-less, it had adopted the flavour of the fridge which mind you, was not very tasty.<br/>The salt flakes just sit in a bowl on the table which is extremely un hygienic as you can all imagine how many filthy hands touch the salt.<br/>I'm not even onto the food yet.<br/>So the menu is very very limited. Theres breakfast and then substantial meals. <br/>I chose the mushroom, chicken and bacon risotto and my friends chose the Turkish bread with bacon, eggs, avocado and relish. <br/>The risotto was flavourless. I had to add half the unhygienic salt to my meal to be even able to taste a hint of anything. It was soggy and the chicken was slimy.<br/>I don't really know how you can go wrong on a Turkish roll with bacon and eggs but somehow they managed to do it. The avocado was dripping out of the roll and it was overpowering the entire thing.<br/>Finally, the price. My risotto was 19 dollars whereas the Turkish bread was 11. <br/>Whilst at face value, that seems somewhat reasonable. Nothing is reasonable for the quality of the food.<br/>I'm sorry, but I will definitely not be returning. <br/><br/>on a side note, the venue is alright.
