Review A Taste Of Siam Restaurant - Hampton

Great find and definitely a welcome addition to our local favourites. Loved the flavours and their focused vegan menu was really the most extensive and thought out in the area.

Really banging on the flavour .. when you order “spicy” Taste of Asian does not disappoint! Colours and presentation and quality of the dishes are beautiful and satisfying 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

First visit for takeaway vegan, great service, neatly packaged and attention to detail. Restaurant looks amazing inside will definitely go to dine in one night. Highly recommended the vegan calamari and vegan Pad Thai. Decent size serves, price and everything tastes perfect. New favourite restaurant in Melbourne!

This is hands down THE BEST vegan Thai restaurant in Melbourne!! And I’ve tried plenty!! They have a comprehensive dedicated vegan menu that covers all the bases. I’ve eaten there many, many times and the quality is ‘always’ exceptional. The owner and head chef, Pak, takes great pride in his cooking and goes out of his way to make sure every patron leaves well and truly satisfied. The, ‘Tofu Chip’ entrée doesn’t sound all that exciting but it’s ‘amazing’!! And his vegan pad Thai is probably the best pad Thai I’ve ever had! If you live down the south of Melbourne, save yourself the trouble of heading north of the city for your vegan fix!! It’s great!

Love the Vegan menu options. Both vegan and non Vegan meals were the tastiest, fresh and generously portioned Thai that hubby and I have ever had. Can't wait to go back for more!!

Best vegan Thai food in Melbourne, hands down! Full seperate vegan menu, packed with flavour and heaps of veggies. Staff are always friendly, customer service is great, can do no wrongs! A must go!

We ate here on a Saturday night at 6 pm (young family and grandma). I would recommend booking. The food and service were wonderful. We will be back (and with a BYO bottle of wine next time!)

4.5 stars The service was a little slow but the food was on point. A lovely family owned restaurant. Definitely worth a visit. I've had barramundi with Thai pesto, green curry and soft shell crab and have all been a delight. The sticky rice is amazing also. Im 18month old was a huge fan of his food squished into a sticky ball.

Amazing food, cannot wait to go back and try more of the menu. The vegan menu was fantastic and so many options.

Great to see a Thai restaurant in Bayside have a vegan menu, a very creative one too. We had the chilli and basil stir fry with mock chicken and the betel leaf curry and both were so fresh and delicious. We will be back!

Amazing food! With a lovely ambience. Pad Thai was specifically good but the curries were a bit spicy. Otherwise very good experience. Decent prices. Worth every penny.

We came without a booking on Thursday night and were seated straight away. For a weeknight it was quite busy. Inside the resturant it felt things were newly decked out and it had a pretty green theme with lush artificial plants giving a pleasant ambiance. First up were the tapioca balls. Wasn't sure what to expect here but they very nice. Chewy on the outside with a sweeter based filling, I would order again. We ordered two roti to have with the massamam curry. The roti sizes are on the smaller side. The curry was full of flavour and meat just melts in your mouth. Last to come was the chicken pad see ew which was overshadowed by the massamam curry and now seemed a little bland. The sweetness levels are also on the lesser side.

I really enjoyed the take away. The food was very nice and was made quickly as I ordered a large order for a family dinner of 15. Although I ordered take away when I picked up the meal the restaurant looked very appealing with great ambience.

It was a great and very impressive dinner. I and my girl friend visited there on Tuesday night which was not look busy for dine in but there are quite a few people to come and pick up takeaway. I love their decoration that look cozy and warm. The food was really good and tasty, highly recommend. We are definitely coming back again.

Expected more, dishes were flavourless and oily, wouldn't go again. I got two stir fry dishes and both veggies seemed more like they were steamed. Didn't try the curries, surely the must be good to support the 3.7 rating, but the stir fries were below par.

We've never dined in here but we've ordered take away for many times over the last few years. In recent months it's really taken a downturn in service. The new people answering the phone can't understand what you're saying and have to give it to someone else, and they aren't understandable themselves. My last call took 10 minutes and neither person I spoke to knew their own menu. Disappointing because the food is good.

We ordered Tom yum soup which was extremely spicy .The main was chicken ,cashews ,vegetables in oyster sauce and Beef ,ginger ,vegetables .The ginger was replaced by chilli and was unbelievably spicy .After communicating to the waitress that there was no ginger in it ,the dish was replaced with ginger .We have had the beef ginger dish many times and enjoyed it ,however on this occasion the beef was swimming in a dark mushy black sauce with a little hint of ginger taste .Unfortunately I had a severely dry throat that night and felt a little nausea .Will not be returning.

A good local Thai restaurant , tasty well presented food, pleasant surrounds and friendly service. Reasonably priced we will return next time we are in the mood for Thai.

Awesome! Had the yummiest fresh vegetables and excellent noodles! A true hidden gem, and great service we will definitely be back again and we'll be bringing friends!!!

The wait for food was beyond acceptable. If it were a notified wait (ie when seated, the waitress advises that meals are taking an hour to arrive) this would be a little bit better as you'd know what you'd be in for. Been here for an hour - still no food. Perhaps I'm just hangry!

Fantastic red curry, really flavoursome. Curry puffs and peppered calamari were delicious. Great service. Fast and friendly- will definitely be going back

A Taste of Siam is your standard suburban Thai takeaway joint. The first time I went here, they stuffed up our order and put chicken in a vegetarian dish... But when we returned they were apologetic and happy to replace it. Since then the service has been good, and the food is quite tasty.

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! I have visited this restaurant a few times now and the staff are absolutely lovely, friendly and direct, the service is great and fast, the food is absolutely delicious!!! There is a large array of dishes on the menu, with a range of traditional thai dishes!! Can't wait for my next visit!!!

I had take away here and although the restaurant was not very busy it was very slow. The service was very good and I was offered tea whilst I was waiting. When I got home I was disappointed by the food. It was simply too sweet

Highly recommended. I loves Thaifood. And the place is the best so far. The taste never change. Love this place

Delightful dishes. Terrific polite service and at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended. :)

Superb!. Absolutely amazing experience!
Wonderful service, beautiful food and such a vibrant atmosphere. Will definitely be back! 10/10

Delicious. Enjoyable night out. Lovely service and nice ambience. Couldn't fault our meals, and prices very reasonable.
Ordered banana fritters, they were easily the best I've had. Banana cut in four, each piece separately battered and fried, clean oil and what a crunch!
Will be back!

Bad tasting food. We came in on a Sunday night and ate pad Thai and massaman curry. Neither dish was up to scratch, with poor flavors and clumpy noodles the main issues. Maybe we had the 2nd string chef? Won't be back :(
Andrew
Fantastic food, wonderful service and very friendly hosts.. Will be back

So slow! - Not worth the wait!. The slowest service I have ever received, we had to chase our drinks 20 minutes after we ordered and they needed to come and take our drinks order again (there were only three drinks ordered!) They had to come and retake our food order (about 40 minutes after we had ordered!) there were huge gaps between food being delivered and the last dish came out a good 20 minutes after the first dish and about 10 mins after everyone else had been served. Food was mixed in quality when it finally arrived, some was ok, but definitely not worth that wait! Never, ever again!

Amazing, authentic Thai food and friendly, efficient staff. Try the 'moor yang'

Great food although I have had better satay

Service slow, absent at first and hap hazard

They need to use bigger bowls to serve their food in.

Friendly staff

Good service, pleasant ambience, nice food. I liked this place but I do think that Thai Rose in Chelsea is a better culinary experience. However, this place was certainly worth a visit, and the service was fast.

Well Kept Secret. Hidden away in sleepy Hampton this is a fabulous Thai place.

Decor is tasteful, modern and its nice and quiet . BYO is accepted at $1.50 per drinker.

We had the Deep Fried King Prawns in Pastry (Goong Hom Pha) $7.90 4 serves - YUM

For mains we shared:

Gai Yang (Charcoal grilled marinated chicken in honey, chilli, garlic and red wine) This had an amazing flavour and was a great size

Pla Lard Khaing (Steamed fillet of fish in ginger sauce) - incredible and healthy

Masman Curry - an old favourite but well worth it - as the beef was slow cooked and the potatoes soft.

I will be going back again -- and on a plus side -its also in the Entertainment Book

Good food, great service. Had dinner at Taste of Siam last Saturday and was most impressed.

Authentic flavours, good portions, fresh food and great service.

I'll be back.

Happy dining experience. I really enjoyed my vegetarian dishes with the highlight tomato/broccoli/tofu dish. Our party of 5 enjoyed a great banquet and all of the comments on the meaty dishes were very positive and moorish. I enjoyed the quaint atmosphere, good food and very attentive service. Obviously run by real Thai people....

Iffy. Took my significant other there for dinner on a Sunday night. Ordered satay and spring rolls, steamed fish with ginger, green curry (beef), stir fried mixed veggies. The satay had been microwaved as both entree's arrive a little too quickly from time of ordering. The green curry was at best watery and little spice in it and the steamed fish and ginger was fairly bland. On a positive note, the service was polite and prompt and the decor is pleasant. I think I'll stick to the local Thai restaurant where the taste is authentic.

Such an amazing place for food! We get takeaway from here almost once a week and have been for the last 2 years! Our order every time is chicken green curry, with steamed rice, chicken satay skewers!!! So yummy!!!!! Stirfry mixed vegetables & roti bread with extra satay sauce! This is out local and is the best Thai I have ever had. Pad Thai is not very good though!

The food is not always consistent in taste, but nevertheless is very good. Service varies, but is friendly. Patience is sometimes required
Biggest negative is booking the restaurant, you have to leave a message to make a reservation, and just hope for the best !!!! Not great for a group wanting to go out !!!!

Loved it!!!. We had the most amazing and delicious taste sensation Thai meal we have ever had on Melbourne . Fresh and authentic flavours. We will definitely be back and so glad we stumbled upon this place. Customer service was fantastic!

Delish. Fabulous food, must try the Tom Yum Soup, to die for. Great service and friendly staff....
Food is plentiful and the staff so helpful. The roti with peanut sauce is fantastic.
We tried the banquet one night and it was so delicious and there was so much food to be had...our party of 28 left happy and full

The best Thai food I have had two weeks into my title fight. Tasty, healthy and delicious.

Great night, good company and outstanding good. We were thoroughly spoiled by the staff and food at A Taste of Siam. The staff were exceptionally helpful with menu choices and were able to read our minds in relation to what we wanted. The food was superb and extremely tasty. We highly recommend A Taste of Siam for any occasion.

Meh. Came here with my boyfriend at the end of last year. i'd heard rave reviews and was left disappointed. the meals were very stodgy and overly sweet, honestly i felt a little sick by the end of it. there are definitely better places to go for thai

Nice staff, food OK not great. Went to Taste of Siam. positives were cheap beer & wine + BYO wine. really friendly & helpful staff.
everyone at my table found their food good.
my matsaman curry was somewhat bland nevertheless the evening was inexpensive and it was a nice atmosphere.

Love the food at this restaurant. Even the sweet chilling sauce tastes great. Good helpings, lots of rice and friendly staff means the family loves coming back. PS the satay sauce is deliciously peanutty!

A regular for take away. Decent Thai and they make it traditionally and reliably hot if asked. Too packed on weekends for a sit down meal, but are reliable for take away.
