Great food, great coffee, fantastic relaxed atmosphere. Perfect brunch spot to sit and enjoy the weekend! The golden folded eggs were a treat!
Excellent food, great coffee...the staff are lovely a nice friendly atmosphere
the great food and coffee continues with the new operators, who have finally brought the place into the 21st century (eftpos)!
Love it. Coffee was great, food equally as delicious. Perfect weekend brunch/lunch spot. New owners are killing it!
Good place, nice food, pets friendly
We had a late Brunch for Fathers day - New menu and food was fantastic. Great service and we loved the atmosphere.
The service and food is amazing here! There's new owner and they are making all the right changes it seems, go porgies!
The food, wine, staff and space was lovely. It made for a memorable night.
Great food, coffee and the best banana bread we have ever tried
Cafe with great food and coffee and even better service. Smiles all 'round!
Great food, staff happy and friendly and outdoor garden area is lovely to sit and read a book perfect to relax with a coffee
Popped in on the weekend... AMAZING food was great & the coffee was exceptional. Will definitely be back. Well done guys.
Great variety of food to suit all tastes, coffees were amazing. Staff couldn't do any more for us, very helpful, efficient and friendly.
Family friendly and was great to see people able to take their dogs for a morning catch up with friends.
Will definitely be back again, that's for a great breakfast experience. See you again soon.
Great new vibe. Glad we made the stop over coffee was great
BEST coffee, best crew! A must see if haven't already! A++++
came here on recommendation and WHOA! AMAZING COFFEE.
will be back
The burgers are bloody amazing here! You wouldn’t think that a cafe would nail them, but they are better than most burger joints I’ve tried. Excellent service and friendly staff always.

📝: Back again to this amazing cafe in Hawthorn. One of the best cafes in Hawthorn, a total local favorite. Warm friendly service, large relaxing courtyard, and fantastic food—Porgie & Mr.Jones is the perfect brunch spot.
❤️: Decadent French Toast🍞 soaked in vanilla anglaise with white choc mousse🍦, caramelised white chocolate, and textures of strawberry🍓.
The Beef Brisket Tacos🐮🌮 were super tasty—12 hour slow cooked brisket with Texas style dry rub, kale🥬 and corn🌽 slaw, green chilli🌶 salsa verde, crispy cheese🧀 and onion🧅 ring.
Porgie and Mr Jones looks small from the outside, step inside and you will be surprised! There is a beautiful outdoor courtyard with some great space and many diners had their dogs with them which I am sure is very convenient to pet owners. We browsed the menu and ended up asking for recommendations as we had no idea what we wanted to get! We started with coffees and ordered two savoury and one sweet dish to share.
Used to go here when I lived in the area and it’s great to see the cafe still serves quality food but they’ve improved their courtyard - love sort it out there. My favourite dish has to be the salmon soba noodle - seriously tasty and refreshing with a mango smoothie. Have to say our French Toast was also a good order - loves the presentation, delicious flavours with the berries. Highly recommend!
I can't be happier to have my brunch settled at Porgie and Mr Jones in Hawthorn. Truly enjoyed my brunch in their beautiful and leafy courtyard. Their solid cafe vibes complement their delicious French Toast, Salmon Soba Noodle salad and Truffle Mushrooms. The salmon is perfectly cured and served generously while the french toast has right balance of sweetness and creaminess. We love their truffle mushrooms and polenta dish. Coffee is top notch and so was their peanut butter smoothies. A truly brunch legend in Hawthorn.
Started my weekend with brunch at Porgie & Mr Jones and I must say I'm impressed. Firstly, I was surprised at how big the venue is with outdoor tables at the front, seating inside, a back room and an extensive courtyard (summer brunch here would be perfect). We ordered:
Salmon & Sweet Potato Fritters - think of mashed spiced sweet potato encased in a thin, crunchy shell, served with citrus cured salmon (far less salty than smoked salmon - yes its good), generous serve of creme fraiche and a sweet beetroot relish. Needless to say, it was amazing!
Beef Tacos - Sweet, tender, melt in your mouth beef, with tangy slaw and crunchy onion rings make the perfect combo for a tasty taco trio!
Fries - ok, if you love fries, you HAVE to order the fries here. THE BEST fries I have had in a very long time. If you're a chip connoisseur, you'll be able to tell from the photos these were the real deal. Perfectly crunchy, golden fries (the type that doesnt go soggy when its cold) served with possibly the best aioli I've ever had. Full of flavour without tasting oily. 10/10 for the fries!
Lattes - coffee was great, I usually get skim milk and the coffee was not watery at all, well balanced roast, highly recommended!
Staff were wonderful, and food came out promptly, will definitely be back!
Invited for brunch with a group of mates, porgie & mr jones served up seriously good food. With four of us we were able to try a variety of dishes, beef brisket tacos, salmon soba, French toast and fritters. Each dish was unique, flavoursome and generously portioned. My personal favourite was the salmon soba, the salmon was perfectly cooked and when paired with soba and zoodles made it a filling yet light meal.
Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.
Would recommend.
4.75/5
This was such a lovely cafe in Hawthorn. First of all the service was literally one of the best, everyone was just incredibly nice and the outdoor seating area was lovely and there were so many doggies during our visit which was the best thing ever.
Started with mango smoothie which was an excellent suggestion by the guy who served us, was so refreshing and just the right sweetness!
Soy turmeric latte was also great, better with some sugar!
Beef tacos was yumsie and portion was definitely filling. The beef itself could be a bit more tender i think but the rest was on point!
Then we had the golden folded egg which was awesomee! We had extra cheesy hash brown and it definitely lived up to its reputation, so crispy cheesy and moreish, the chorizo was also yummy and went so well with the dish. The chili on top was a lil sweet but definitely had the right spicy kick to it, I loved it!
Lastly, can't forgo the french toast because it was one of the best I've had for sure. The white choc mousse was amazing, kinda like ice cream? while the french toast itself was light and I just loved all of the components in the dish as they complimented each other incredibly well.
Sucha great brunch spot and would definitely recommend it!
Thank you for having me!

We visited Porgie and Mr Jones this past weekend, we sat out in the courtyard as it was the perfect day for it. The staff were all very lovely and very welcoming.
We ordered the Truffle Mushrooms. It was perfect cooked, the egg was perfectly poached and I love the crispy polenta. They all worked well together with the kale and hollandaise sauce. (We definitely cleaned the plate!) We also had the French Toast, unfortunately, the caramelised white chocolate had melted from the sun! But we still had time to take a few pictures of it. I love all the different textures of the strawberries, but my favourite was definitely the fresh ones. The flavours really blended well together, I definitely would order this again!
We also ordered the carrot juice, which was just the perfect refreshing juice to have on a sunny day! And also the Oreo thick shake, because you can't go wrong with Oreos. Both very delicious but, if you have a sweet tooth, definitely order the thick shake. Otherwise, I highly recommend the juices.
I visited with friends recently and WOW what a cafe! We were seated in the lovely courtyard, it was such a cold and rainy day but sitting at the back you would not know that as it was covered and so cosy.
A solid menu, my friends and I shared a selection of dishes all were fantastic! The stand outs for me were the beef tacos, these were so original and the beef... omg to die for. The salmon soba noodle salad was my second favourite dish, this dish was filled with so much flavour. The French toast and truffle mushroom mushies equally as yum, honestly everything was so divine.
My juice was refreshing and delish, service was on point. This is a cafe to visit, you will love it.
Porgie & Mr Jones has varied seating areas and we found ourselves beside the fireplace, near the kitchen. We went for the brunch options and my golden folded eggs were a beautiful colour and the cheesy hash brown on the side was the ideal addition. My girlfriend went for the eggs Benedict with pulled pork. The eggs were perfectly poached but the pork perhaps needed some more seasoning. Servings are large and by this stage we were well and truly full, but shared a French toast for dessert - my favourite dish of the day! Our server Ellie (Ally?) was really helpful and friendly. Definitely well worth a try in the inner East. Cheers for the invite.
It’s been awhile since I’ve headed out for brunch, but thought to give this place a go.
Great tasting coffee, eggs were poached perfectly, the cheesy hash brown was amazing, it reminded me of Mac n cheese but in potatoe form 😋 Complimentary sparkling water, gained a bonus point since I believe every restaurant should offer this! My fav of the day is the French toast 😍 this dish showcased strawberries done four ways! This was delish!
The only negative for me was the pulled pork did lack flavour but it wasn’t un-enjoyable.
A mention to the staff, especially Ellie! Ellie was lovely and cheerful and it’s always nice to see someone smile while doing their job. Very attentive.
Walking into Porgie + Mr Jones you are immediately hit with the smell of freshly brewed coffee and the chatter of the locals waiting for their coffee and those just waiting to get their brunch on. What looks like a little café from the street, reveals itself to be a sprawling eatery with space for those wanting to get their coffee and go, to the ones who want to sit down and enjoy the quiet of a weekend morning. Heading out into the courtyard, you are instantly transported to what feels like a whole new space. The courtyard is filled with natural light and beautiful greenery, with a sandpit down the back to entertain the little ones, and if that wasn’t good enough Porgie + Mr Jones is pet friendly.
Once settled, the staff were eager to have a chat about our morning and run through the all-day menu. This definitely helped us figure out what we really wanted to eat and not just let our stomach’s do the talking. Seeing as though it was a particularly sunny day, we started with a chocolate thick shake and Orange Juice – nothing beats a pulpy OJ to start brunch.
Porgie & Mr Jones is definitely a gem in Hawthorn and was well worth the drive to get there! It's a super spacious eatery with ample seating. We visited yesterday and it was super sunny so decided to sit outside among the greenery and it's just such a relaxing vibe in the courtyard - the perfect spot to enjoy brunch in my opinion.
Staff were attentive and took our orders in good timing. My iced latte was one of the best I've had as it had such a strong taste of coffee (I find them to be too milky sometimes). I had the salmon fritters which I thoroughly enjoyed. I love the sweet potato filling in the fritters, they're quite light and aren't covered in batter. They were served with a generous portion of cured salmon and super tasty beetroot which complimented the dish perfectly. I wasn't as sure about the chive creme as it reminded me of the basic onion dip you have with chips but I think that just wasn't too my liking as much. My partner had the beef brisket tacos and added a cheese hash. He enjoyed the tacos and thought they were super tasty. However, he thought the beef was a little overcooked and it needed more citrus (even just a few more lime wedges). The cheese hash was absolutely delicious and we'd 100% recommend adding on this!
Porgie also has quite a large display of cabinet food. The cakes looked delicious but sadly we were too full, we'll be back to try them next time for sure!
Located in the busy strip in Hawthorn is this amazing brunch spot! Its a brunch with many rooms, and there is a nice courtyard that is covered which is perfect for the uncertain melbourne weather. Love how they are pet friendly in the courtyard at the back
There was quite alot to choose from i must say and we finally decided on a few dishes. We had the soba noodles, salmon fritters, beef brisket tacos, and french toast.
The soba noodles were an absolute highlight, loved how they combined the soba noodles and zucchini noodles which gives it the different texture and the salmon was cooked to perfection. Loved how it was soft and yummy.
The beef brisket tacos was presented really well and it was good. Really enjoyed the beef brisket and i loved how you get chunks of them in the dish. The salmon fritters was nice and i like how the dish was presented. If you love your sweets, you do not want to go past that french toast. It was perfectly balanced in terms of flavours and i really enjoyed how the ingredients went really well together
Overall, the dishes were quite unique and different from other brunch spots. They were presented very well and were packed full of flavours. The staff were very attentive and our cups of water never went empty. They were also checking to make sure everything was ok
The food was good here. Really enjoyed the salmon and soba noodles. The cured salmon and fritters was also lovely. Good coffee and good service. Worth a visit.

What you should order: peanut butter smoothie, porgie’s famous golden folded

Overall score: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 (4.5)

🌿Porgie & Mr. Jones is nestled among the leafy suburbs of hawthorn away from the crowd. Loved that they had plenty of options in where to dine - the charming backyard or a classic living room spot. We sat on a table with plenty of shade to enjoy the lovely Australian summer.
🥤Started off with some smoothies and the peanut butter was a real winner - generous amounts of nuts and chocolate chip intertwined with the smoothie. Mixed berry was less sweet, but I enjoyed the banana and date bits!
🍳Porgie kept the brunch selection simple. I left feeling impressed with execution though. They elevated the scrambled eggs and bread dish with goats cheese and chilli jam which really made the dish very exciting (something to try at home perhaps?). Love love loved the cheesy hash brown - I was told that the chefs make it in house and their efforts really paid off. Portions are also huge - the cheesy hash brown can be shared by two people!
🐟The salmon fritters was enjoyable because of the sweet potato fritters. They kept it chewy on the inside and oh so crispy on the outside - didn’t taste too unhealthy. the cured salmon was quite standard.
🎖Portions were HUGE for the price. I ate at 11 and didn’t need to eat dinner till 8pm! Service was friendly too. They told me that I had to wait about 20 minutes on a weekend for our food (tells you how popular this place is with the locals), but at least it was worth the wait! Would definitely return for those cheesy hash browns :) thanks for the invite ♥️

I love love mushrooms - and porgie & mr jones did it well.
Ordered:
🍄 Truffle mushroom with exotic mushrooms, crispy polenta, kale, parmesan, poached eggs & hollandaise ($21.00)
Review:
The truffle mushroom was better than I could've imagined. Juicy, earthy flavors with the fried crumbly polenta was a great celebration of textures. Combined with the creaminess of the hollandaise, kale was there to absorb the brunt, keeping the dish very down to earth. Very easy to eat, and incredibly lovely to enjoy.
In terms of the environment, they have an amazing sunlit backyard. It's spacious and the greenery keeps things very relaxing. Would recommend bringing a date/a friend/family here. It's definitely suitable to everyone and any one!
I had an awesome time here.
We were kindly invited to Porgie + Mr Jones for brunch. We came by on a Sunday afternoon when the weather was sunny and cool and it was bustling.
The cafe is bright, open, airy and large. We were seated at the covered courtyard which was very comfortable. The lovely waitress brought us water and gave us menus immediately. We ordered the green bowl and the salmon and sweet potato fritters. For drinks we ordered the carrot cold pressed juice and the green cold pressed juice.
The green bowl was beautifully presented and tasted fresh and healthy. It was also very filling.
The salmon dish was well-balanced - the savoury salmon complimented the sweet beetroot relish and sweet potato fritters. The chive creme tied the dish together and provided freshness to the dish.
The cold pressed juices were refreshing and sweet. We had a great time.
Thank you Porgie + Mr Jones for the lovely feed.
Porgie and Mr Jones impressed us from start to finish. We were invited for brunch and we attended on a weekday. The set up of the cafe was terrific. They had a large outdoor area but given the heat, we opted to sit inside.
We had:
Salmon fritters - the generous balls of sweet potato fritters sat on a layer of smoked salmon. Eating it with the chive creme, beet root relish and dill created a party atmosphere in my mouth.
Grilled cheesy toast with poached eggs - the cheese was amazingly delicious and by the time I was done with it, I was totally cheesed out...in a very good way of course.
Chips - seriously, these were the best chips I have ever had. And I know my chips. Crunchy golden potato with a melt in your mouth centre. I want a lifetime supply of these babies!
Ice coffee - this was very well prepared. The unsweetened coffee gelled perfectly with the creamy vanilla ice cream.
We were on a high when we walked out of this place! Well done Porgie and Mr Jones.
This in adorable cafe located in Hawthorn's quieter end. The space (which looks like a former house) features several rooms and a balanced mix of indoor, outdoor and open-air space. I started with an oat coffee and an absolutely delicious peanut butter, chocolate and banana smoothie. It was so rich and enhanced with the texture of peanuts and cacao nibs on top.
To eat, my partner and I shared two dishes. We couldn't pass up the "famous" golden folded eggs, which lived up to their name. The salty goats cheese and sweet chilli jam balanced if perfectly. We also added a cheesy hash brown which was hearty and super flavourful. Our other dish was a much lighter green bowl featuring fresh veg, pumpkin hummus and lots of avocado. It's great on its own but more substantial with the addition of delicious grilled haloumi.
Whether you want decadent, wholesome or both, this spot has delicious cafe fare for everyone. And while some cafes seem overpriced for what you get, this one provides great value.
Staff were attentive and food was delicious. Great atmosphere, would recommend!
We came here for Brunch and ordered the truffle mushrooms, the cheesy hash and their green bowl with salmon. The truffle mushroom was rich in flavor and I loved the hollandaise sauce pairing, the cheesy hashbrown was also a delight to eat but the dish that stole the show for me was the green bowl, so refreshing and tasty- I definitely recommend adding the extras to enhance this dish even more
Thanks for having us!
Absolutely loved this place! There was a lot of inside and outside seating. The outside seating was shaded or in the sun. There was a variety of options on the menu accomodating to all dietary needs. The staff were very friendly and helpful! The food was delicious and fresh. The avocado was perfectly smashed with lots of flavour. The bowl was incredible. There was a great variety of ingredients and flavours. Loved the generous half avocado. The pumpkin hummus tasted delicious in combination with vegetables. The cheese toastie was insane. The combination of cheese and bechamel sauce was great. It was grilled perfect making it so crunchy! Such generous potion for price and filling! Definitely a must go to cafe!
Hawthorn definitely has a reputation as being a suburb full of great cafes, and after a recent experience at Porgie and Mr Jones, I can see that this reputation is warranted. I have been to a lit of Hawthorn cafes, and Porgie is definitely at the top of the list. Everything was great from start to finish, and I cannot rave about this cafe enough. It has a small, and cute cottage facade; but inside is a large space with three different dining areas. The decor has highlighted heritage features, but with a modern touch, and the atmosphere is pleasant and inviting. Bistro furniture adds a European feel, as does the light filled courtyard at the rear. The overall feeling is elegant but still relaxed, and this cafe ticks all the boxes as far as aesthetics go. The cafe was buzzing with plenty of people here, and service still managed to be friendly and attentive. The post Christmas crowd were enjoying all that Porgie has to offer, and so were we. The coffee is a great place to start, and our brews were sublime enough to have two. We also enjoyed a mango and coconut smoothie which was refreshing on a Summer's day. We decided to try some of the signature dishes, starting with the folded eggs. These delicious fresh eggs were part scramble, part omelette; and were topped with a home made chilli jam and goat's cheese. The eggs were so fluffy, and the cheese was lovely and creamy. The chilli jam was fantastic. Nice and spicy, and a perfect complement to the other ingredients. The sourdough toast was also great, and this dish was generous and tasty. Easy to see why it's one of the most popular dishes on the menu. Being a hot day, I couldn't wait to try the bircher, and I'm so glad that I did. The creamy oats were not overly sweet, and were the perfect base for the fresh fruits, nutty granola, mangi jelly and mint mousse. This bowl was so pretty, and all the different elements were excellent. I particularly loved the mango jelly, and the frothy mint mousse was a refreshing addition. A fantastic interpretation of a cafe classic, healthy but still delicious. Not to be outdone, we decided to try something a little naughtier, and also ordered the French toast; another dish that the cafe is renowned for. A beautiful dish was presented before us, with two slices of egg soaked brioche, topped with fresh berries, compote, cream and nuts. Two beautiful caramelised chocolate tuilles stood like sails atop the toast, and definitely added an artistic flair to the dish. Everything about this dish was amazing, and it absolutely lives up to the hype. The toast was fantastic, and I loved the combination of berries and caramel chocolate. An indulgent dish for sure, and one probably best for sharing. The standards at Porgie and Mr Jones are very high. The food is outstanding, full of flavour, freshness and flair. Service and staff are beyond efficient, and you feel as though you are dining amongst friends. The cool but casual vibe is extremely enticing, and I believe that this beautiful cafe is very deserving of it's great reputation.
The food was absolutely amazing and I loved the takeaway Cups that the coffee came in. Also the staff were extremely attentive and welcoming. I will definitely come back!
We went to this place on a whim and I ordered a smashed avo with a cheesy hash. It was absolutely delish! I love the fact that it came with beetroot and the portion was very large. The atmosphere was very friendly and chill. Great place and would return next time I’m in the area.
OMG! This place is amazing! I had the soft shell tacos and sweet potato fries *drools* and don’t get me started on how good the oero thick shake was! The back courtyard where we sat we so pretty too. Definitely going back soon
Bit of an unassuming façade, but Porgie & Mr Jones opens up to heritage indoor dining spaces, as well as a fresh, spacious contemporary undercover courtyard around the back.
The courtyard is very dog friendly and many of the neighbourhood local good boys are regulars.
The All Day Menu features a selection of modern café favourites, executed in a refined manner.
* Porgies Famous Golden Folded – soft folded eggs are my thing and I was not disappointed. The eggs were still soft, just set and expertly shaped. No fussing around, balanced with goats cheese and chilli jam. A lovely combination. I added a cheesy hash brown and this almost stole the show – very crisp exterior and a soft, cheesy middle. It’s well worth the add-on.
* Truffle Mushrooms – Crispy poltena was indeed crisp on the outside and moist in the middle. It’s a good base for the poached eggs and hollandaise, which has a nice smooth consistency. The truffle flavours came through with the mushrooms.
* Coffees were also well made – my strong latte had good depth of flavour from the roast, and body from the steamed milk.
Really enjoyed my time here, the courtyard is lovely and the food is well done. Of course, service was attentive, but then again this was an invitational visit.
Cracking job guys.
A great little spot for this lovely buzzing cafe. The staff are lovely the moment you walk in. They have heaps of seating outdoors which is cosy. The service was fast and a great menu well delivered. **Disclaimer: although the restaurant has generously invited me to their restaurant this review is still based on my genuine opinion.
Mr porgie has 4 settings inside with 3 being inside and an outdoor garden. The staff are so friendly and accomodating. Each section of tye cafe is well designed.
Mixed berries smoothie - perfectly made with dried zesty berries on the top.
The soy chai was the right temperature and well made.
The truffle mushrooms were quite impressive as the crispy polenta was crisp, flavourful and byfar one of the best I've tried. The mushrooms paired perfectly with the parmesan. Poached eggs were plump and topped with a thick hollandaise sauce for added flavour.
Soy glazed salmon was tender and seated on soft soba and mixed with edamame and zucchini noodles. Togorashi and miso vinaigrette was the perfect touch to the dish.
4.3. Still in the Christmas festive season, the cafe was decorated with a lot of cute xmas decorations. Besides the xmas decor, I noticed a wooden deer head hanging on the wall and there is an outdoor seating area which is big and spacious.
We started off with a cappuccino and a hot chocolate. The coffee art was cute on it!
We brought our little one so we got her a:
MINI CHEESY HAM TOASTIE - It wasn't mini, it was adult sized! Value for money haha. It was nice as I had a taste of it. I think they used sour dough instead of white bread from memory.
MINI OJ - She loved her pulpy orange juice!
The food we ordered are:
FRENCH TOAST - soaked in vanilla anglaise with white choc mousse, caramelised white chocolate and textures of strawberry - The french toast was crunchy on the sides and very thick and fluffy on the inside. When combined with the white choc mousse and caramelised white chocolate and strawberry - it was just so nice! There were a few different textures of strawberry - jam, dehydrated (i think), fresh etc. Very interesting and complex dish.
CRISPY CHICKEN BURGER - with crumbed thigh, shredded iceberg lettuce, cheese, chipotle mayo and pickled onion on a milk bun - Had a bite or two off my partner's burger and it tasted so good!
SALMON AND FRITTERS - with citrus cured salmon, sweet potato fritters, beetroot relish, chive creme and soft herbs - The fritters were very sweet potato-ey, the salmon was really nice with the citrus taste, so when the two are combined, it was a mixture of sweet and savoury! I love the chive creme as well, I think i can eat that by itself in tablespoons!
Had a nice breakfast today, thank you Porgie and Mr Jones.
Great breakfast and coffee. There is a deceptive amount of seating out back too. Good for dog spotting.
Porgie & Mr Jones has been on the cafe scene for a long time but remains as amazing as ever. Consistency is something that matters to me, and P+MJ never fails to wow me with their coffee and food.
The courtyard out the back is perfect for sunny days, or even rainy days as it is sheltered. My friend and I started off with an excellent cup of almond latte, and a mango smoothie.
I couldn't resist but to order the Porgie Golden Folded. Scrambled egg perfection is what I call this. The softest and creamiest scrambled eggs, paired with chilli jam, goat cheese and herbs, creating a flavour profile that was balanced yet punchy.
The French Toast soaked in vanilla anglaise was simplicity at its finest. Soft, moist and airy, with a lightness that meant I could go for seconds, this French Toast was a delight to eat from start to finish.
The miso vinaigrette really brought out the flavours in the soy glazed salmon with zucchini and soba noodles. It added a umami flavour, one that kept you going back for more. Fresh and light, this is my idea of clean eating.
Save to say, we demolished everything. Hard not to when everything were so delicious! Thank you for having me in.
Given the saturation of cafes in Melbourne, the once exciting brunch affair has somewhat transformed into a been there, ate that sorta drill. But we persevere… cos on weekends, we brunch. And every so often, we’re rewarded with a brunch fare that actually dishes up the goods when it comes to wow and taste factor. Case and point with our dining experience at Porgie & Mr Jones. Our selection in itself was quite ordinary - plenty of other cafes serve up similar dishes, but the execution and flavour profile of each dish was faultless. The flavours were incredibly fresh, balanced and abundant - each bite continued to wow despite the taste buds knowing what to expect.
My partner and headed off to Porgie and Mr Jones on a bright sunny afternoon so it was great to be sitting under a beautiful tree in the outdoor courtyard.
As it was a bright sunny day I ordered an Aperol Spritz to celebrate hahaha. This was served icy cold and it was delicious.
My partner has a jasmine leaf tea which was delicious. What a great start to our brunch.
Foodwise I ordered the poached eggs w pulled pork, hollandaise sauce and the best cheesy hash brown. Yummo. When this dish hit the table I knew I was on a winner. The poached eggs were perfectly cooked, golden and runny. The pork was soo soft, the meat tasted marinated and the flavour was some of the best I've tasted in a long time. The hollandaise was creamy, soo good and the red cabbage gave the dish some texture and additional flavour.
My partner had the porgies famous golden folded w chilli jam, goats cheese, soft herbs on toast w a cheesy hash brown. This was equally as good. The eggs were fluffy, the soft herbs added some nice green flavours, the chilli jam wasn't too sweet and that cheesy hash brown, yessss hahaha.
The courtyard is lovely, chillaxing and peaceful. Thanks to the owner for extending an invitation for me to visit their cafe.
We had a great time. Oh and the single chairs inside... they are sooo comfy!! Lol

Although Porgie & Mr Jones has been around for a while, in more recent years it’s been taken over my Luke and Tom who’ve taken it to a whole new level. Previously a quaint, small café - today it has so much more to offer with spacious areas for a diverse range of groups plus the “on trend” eclectic style of inner city decor. This makes it a must visit when in Hawthorn. Today, we sat at the large timber table at the front where light streamed in from the street and we could watch the comings and goings of Auburn Road outside. A steady stream of regulars coming for their coffee/cake fix peppered our dining experience. The menu has an interesting range of choices that are both fresh and seasonal but also in keeping with current trends in cafes that are in abundance in Hawthorn.
With such an inviting place to sit and eat, a place where we can talk without yelling over the café playlist or bad acoustics, we knew we were in for a memorable brunch together. My adult daughter ordered the smashed avocado with feta on the side, and a salad mix of mint, pickled beetroot, cashew dukkah and pomegranates. I had the eggs benedict with slow cooked pulled pork served on red cabbage accompanied with cheesy hash brown, poached egg and hollandaise. I added an extra of side of halloumi and bacon. Add a strawberry milkshake and a chai and we were set for a lovely meal together. The food was good but I have to say that the customer service was outstanding. Every interaction was with a smile and nothing was too much trouble.
For the coffee aficionados – you won’t be disappointed at the ‘boys’ have created their own blend that appears to be popular. The chai was good as was the pot of tea that thankfully was hot! (not everyone makes their tea hot).
There are a number of ‘spaces’ to P&MJ – the front has the original brick building, stripped back to the gorgeous earthy walls. In these two sections are timber tables and chairs, warm earthy tones and artwork that is large but minimalist giving a striking effect. As you walk towards the rear, it breaks into an outside and inside area. The outside is long and narrow opening out to a large rear courtyard with plenty of tables, chairs and space for the kids to play. The inside area stays under the original roofline and is a more intimate place for singles, couples, families and small groups.
It’s often the little things that get places ‘over the line’ for me and today it was the way the outdoor area had been refurbished with clean lines and light colours making it inviting and spacious. A large courtyard area at the rear attracts people who have dogs and apparently, they’ll enter via the laneway to the left of P&MJ to secure their table at the rear and dine under the tappled light of the trees. You can see from the photos that the flower arrangement on the table is also a nice touch of nature and colour to set off the vintage original brick wall. I know this final point may be trivial to some but for me and my kids, it’s important. They use ‘who gives a crap’ toilet paper and ‘thank you’ hand wash. A simple but lovely gesture that tells me they consider the impact they have on the environment.
I would highly recommend Porgie & Mr Jones and look forward to returning again in the future.
Notes: wheelchair accessible, disabled friendly, kid friendly (nice space for them to move around), high chairs available, good parking on Auburn Road and the side streets, dietaries catered for.
We were invited to Porgie + Mr Jones today which seems to have undergone a bit of a refresh since my first visit some years ago. Great to see it’s still as busy as ever and the menu still has plenty to offer. I had a delicious mango smoothie as I contemplated my order.
I ended up going with my default Saturday decision, smashed avocado although on this instance I added citrus cured salmon. I’m a fan of cured salmon and will tend to opt for it whenever I see it available over it’s less pleasant cousin smoked salmon. This was a great idea by me and amplified the vibrancy of my already very colourful plate.
I’m not typically big into beetroot but the pickled beetroot on my dish was excellent. Super flavoursome and a great addition. Another interesting element was the dukha cashews, definitely something a bit unique with quite a smoky flavour. Hubs had the golden folded with has been a signature dish of theirs for many years and remains impressive. Overall an enjoyable brunch and I would definitely be tempted to return to try the French toast!
Original review
The herby cheesy toast in renowned so that was my choice on the day. This was previously under the same ownership as Snow Pony and Friends of Mine but I believe it has recently changed hands. They don't seem to have played with the menu too much (yet anyway) and they shouldn't because it's very well rounded offering all the favourites as well as a few more exotic and interesting options. The outdoor area is really cute and relaxed and perfect for brunching in the sun. A lovely little local eat
I had fond memories of this Iconic cafe and it’s amazing that I haven’t visited in the 3 or so years that I have been posting reviews but we came in today for a long overdue look at their menu. We both loved the set up of this venue, deceptively spacious with different vibes to suit your mood. Starting with a dark interior that flows onto lighter rooms with electric furniture and tables dressed with tablecloths, to an outdoor space with luscious green foliage and fairy lights.
We sat in the gorgeous shaded outdoor area and drank the most wonderful super hot, deliciously creamy strong almond latte and mango smoothie, that was not too sweet with a delicious lassi like taste.
We ordered the Famous Golden Folded, these eggs had a wonderful level of chilli heat (enough to set the nose running). With a delicious texture, part omelette/part scramble and the inclusion of fresh dill and tart fetta kept the palate fresh. We also ordered a cheesy hash brown on the side which was super crunchy, fabulously cheesy and wonderfully OMG moorish.
We also indulged in the French Toast, the bread has a prominent vanilla flavour from its soaking in vanilla anglaise, it had the perfect sides of a sweet berry combo and light white choc mousse. This meal was a decadent and delicious.
Staff were super friendly and we really enjoyed our invitation to dine here today.
Everything was super delicious and the cafe has such a lovely environment to enjoy our food in! The French toast wasn’t too sweet and was nicely balanced with the fruits and caramel slice!
This cafe is absolutely beautiful! It’s bustling and filled with bubbly servers. Every corner of the cafe is so different but so cosy, you’ll definitely find a favorite spot. The food was actually beyond my expectations, the flavors is so unique even when you go for a dish that you think you’ve had a million times at other restaurants. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a memorable brunch in every sense!
Located in leafy Hawthorn, Porgie + Mr Jones is an iconic Melbourne café that delights guests with delicious brunch options.
The ambience is warm and welcoming with affable staff happy to guide you through the generous menu.
We loved both of the dishes we ordered.
The green bowl was an exciting amalgamation of warm brown rice, broccolini, kale, avocado, edamame, pickled onion, pumpkin hummus, super seeds and salsa verde. Bursting with flavours and various textures, this was a nutrient dense plate that did not compromise on flavour.
The dish of Seared Salmon was similarly delicious. The salmon was wonderfully fresh and laced with an umami-laden soy glaze and served alongside slippery soba and zucchini noodles, edamame, cucumber, ginger togarashi and miso vinaigrette. Just yum!
Starting with the ambiance, it's well maintained and neat. The service staff is super friendly and super attentive. The coffee is also really good. The food taste delicious however i felt the portion size is bit less as per the pricing.
Really enjoyed our visit to Porgie + Mr Jones. The food there is delicious and the portions are very generous. I had Truffle Mushrooms, which I absolutely loved. The cafe is really beautiful and spacious, with lots of natural light and seating options. We sat outside and although it was a cold day, the staff members set the heaters up for us, so we felt cosy and comfortable. Overall, we had a great time and we’ll definitely be coming back.
Visited Porgie and Mr Jones last Sunday and had a fantastic experience, will be returning again!
I love how the backyard are accessible for dog

A popular venue in Hawthorn but has the realestate to handle it. Food is on point, I had the French toast which had a super fluffy inside which melted in my mouth. Staff were great, and I was a big fan of the fitout.
Staff was lovely and food was amazing! Chicken tacos and French toast are my faves! Would def come back.
Such an incredible place for brunch and a sneaky morning bev! Highly recommend sitting outside an a nice day as the outdoor area is beautiful!!

This family owned cafe has is a must do if you're looking for great food and coffee in Hawthorn. The small frontage is deceiving, as the cafe spreads back in to the block with loads of cute little seating nooks and a huge, renovated leafy courtyard which is both pram and puppy friendly, and an undercover terrace. They also have function spaces upstairs and can cater for parties of all sizes for breakfast, lunch until 4pm daily.
The menu has loads of great options plus there's a cabinet bursting with pre-made cakes, salads and rolls, plus delicious baked goods from Noisette.
We had the eggs benny with slow cooked pulled pork on a cheesy hashbrown; and the sweet potato fritters with citrus cured salmon. Both dishes were beautifully presented and tasted fabulous!
We rounded out with the French toast for dessert and this has to be one of the best French Toasts I've ever had - soaked in vanilla anglaise with white chocolate mousse and caramelised white chocolate shards. OMG so good!
We found that the service was reasonably quick and friendly and the staff didn't seem to be stressed or under the pump - especially considering how busy it was on a Saturday.
Oh and the coffee is fabulous too.
Thanks for having us guys!
This unassuming cafe served up the most perfectly cooked, tender, seared salmon with soy glaze, miso vinaigrette, ginger, togarashi, cucumber and edamame was one of the best brunch dishes of the year! A must order at Porgie & Mr Jones!

Came here on Sunday for brunch. The cafe looks small from outside but it is pretty big inside especially their backyard. We love it ! We had juice and matcha latte. They were pretty good then we ordered 3 dishes
🐟 Sear Salmon
🍋 Porridge
🍠 Salmon & Fritters
We really like the porridge, it was served with rhubarb and some toppings on top. It was really yummy. The salmon dishes were great too!
This local favourite of mine has been my go to for a while for a morning coffee before work! However it’s interior has had a massive revamp and the menu has changed since I last went.
We sat in their new gorgeous and bright courtyard, and ordered ourselves a tumeric latte and got chocolate! We then enjoyed their Vanilla French Toast, I love all the different different textures of strawberries. This is an absolutely a delicious dish, recommend you try this!
We also got the Salmon and Fritters. This is a light and fresh brunch. Probably my favourite dish, thoroughly enjoyed every element of this dish. Then the Seared Salmon was spicy but it was balanced with the soba and zucchini noodles.
Overall, a pleasant experience with kind and attentive staff. Recommend you visit this place soon!
Note that thefo0die.com rating is a 4.5 but in Zomato's rating system, it is closer to a 5.
Fo0die dined as a guest of Porgie + Mr Jones and as such, the rating does not give any consideration to customer service.
We arrived at the venue at 11:30am on a Saturday and found parking on Broomfield Road which was 2P till 12:30pm with no limit on a Sunday. If you drive, make sure you check whether the side of the street you’re parking at is a permit zone. And if tram route 70 is easily accessible for you and you have a myki then there’s a tram stop basically right around the corner from the venue (saves you having to find parking!).
I kicked off this glorious day with the lovely folks here!
The green bowl certainly ticks all the boxes for a soulful feed. Loved the pumpkin hummus! Paired well with the super seeds and brown rice.... But that avo 👌💚 Great to see the guys using a coffee blend they designed themselves for the local Hawthorn scene here on Auburn Road.
This cafe was everything. Food, service and ambience was amazing. Ordered the baked eggs, golden fold and French toast which was delicious. Loved the chilli ja which I wanted to take home with me!!! The photos says it all but definitely much better in reality. I highly recommend this place even just for a coffee run.
I'm so glad I had the chance to visit Porgie & Mr Jones. This one definitely appears a bit of a well-kept secret between locals to this part of Hawthorn. I hadn't ever passed the destination previously.. but now that I know exactly where it is, I'll definitely be making a beeline in its direction in future!
The ambience here is one of the most memorable elements. It's warm, cosy and extremely welcoming. There's ample space, and the staff allow you the room to truly catch up with your fellow brunch guest in absolute peace and comfort.
The menu is equally delicious. Worthy of note was the porridge, which both myself and my friend were drawn to ordering. Not only is it incredibly vibrant and eye-catching, it tastes just as flavourful. The rhubarb is such as satisfying addition. I paired my meal with a smoothie; we had some fries to share and a side of PB jelly toast. I couldn't complain about a single dish. It was beautiful.
I'll definitely be back to visit soon. In fact, I can't wait!
Porgie + Mr Jones was a wonderful place to meet a new friend for brunch. With a spacious, yet cozy interior and a beautiful exterior (with heating), it is perfect for any weather. We were immediately greeted by the wonderful staff who were more than happy to help us out in any way!
The minute it came to choosing the dish I was going to eat, there was some much delicious choice. But in the end I decided to go for the ‘Green Bowl’ which came with warm brown rice, broccolini, kale, avocado, edamame, pickled onion, pumpkin hummus, super seeds and salsa verde. Along with this, I added a poached egg. The warm brown rice nestled under the fresh produce was the highlight for me. It complemented the zesty and vibrant elements to make this dish one that is going to be hard to forget.
My friend went for the Seared Salmon with the soy glaze, soba and zucchini noodles, edamame, cucumber, ginger, togarashi and miso vinagrette. A classic combination of flavours that did not disappoint. It was light and refreshing, yet filled you up. The addition of the soba noodles was amazing, it added deep to the vegetable filled dish.
Together we had to get a sweet item too. So we decided on the French Toast which is soaked in vanilla anglaise with white choc mousse, caramelised white chocolate and textures of strawberry. The presentation of this dish was immaculate. It caught my eye from the minute it got to the table. The delicately placed shards of white chocolate, truely displayed the technique of this dish.
I washed the down with a ‘Red’ cold pressed juice, which was made of Carrot, Celery, Apple, Lemon. What better way to end a beautiful meal.
I would definitely want to revisit this amazing cafe in the heart of Hawthorn. Beautiful design, extremely talented chefs and lovely staff.
I was surprised when i walked into the restaurant, it has a really beautiful interior design which is perfect if you love taking pictures! Other than that, the food here tastes super delicious especially their famous grilled cheese! The staffs are very friendly as well. Overall very happy experience here!
Have you visited Porgie and Mr Jones before? I ve visited a few times in the past and feel like it is one of the original cafes of Melbourne! I remember it from my early blogging/foodie days and that would have been 6-7 years now! But can’t believe last Saturday was the first time, I had gone to the courtyard and was so surprised at how big and nice it was. Perfect place to have lunch on a beautiful autumn or spring day and definitely great for dog lovers! We brought our dog and he loved it and got so many cuddles from others hehe
As for the food, the new owners have taken over for the last two years and have done an amazing job! Everything was delicious, let’s start with boyfriends Croque Madame with a fried egg, he inhaled it! I barely had a bite haha
Followed by my baked eggs with chorizo, tomatoes, goats cheese. Paired with crusty bread to ensure you scoop up all the sauce.
Finishing up with French pancakes with honey roasted pear, raspberry, almond biscuit, sweet chestnut paste and cream. My brunch was complete!
Absolutely love the food and service here, friendly and helpful. Place is beautiful and great to hang out! Most importantly the food is amazing!
We came by one weekend towards the end of the lunch time rush.It is nestled along a quieter stretch of the main shopping strip, making it immensely easy for us to find parking nearby. Always a plus on the weekend! It's a clear favourite amongst locals, with many going in and out with an air of familiarity.
First impression: Such a beautiful cafe to walk into and the service was so lovely. We were seated promptly without any hesitation 💜
Food Impression: Amazing meals that tasted phenomenal 😍😍😍 The Smashed Avocado was well accompanied with 2 pieces of toast, a poached egg and feta 😀 For all you chicken lovers the Crispy Chicken Burger did not disappoint 🙌🏻 Bursting with flavour and accompanied by the tastiest chips 🍟 🍔
Thanks so much and we’ll definitely be back soon ❤️❤️
Porgie and Mr Jones gets an A+ from me! From service to food it was an amazing overall experience. My personal favorites was the French Toast off their winter specials menu and their hot chocolate which was absolutely yum and I may have gotten two! Definitely worth the visit!
Quite a busy little cafe but we didn't struggle to get a seat.
A mate and I both had coffees, two flat whites, and they tasted great.
Milk could have been a little hotter.
Friendly staff. Definitely recommend their coffee.
Loved our visit to Porgie and Mr Jones so much, we had such a great time and amazing meals as well!
We tried a few dishes:
Green Bowl (Tri quinoa grains, shredded kale, avocado, salsa verde, broccoli, edamame, pickled onion and sunflower seeds + haloumi)
- great variety of greens that we love, everything is fresh and served beautifully!
.
Seared Salmon (Crispy skin seared salmon, fried brussel sprouts, bacon and walnuts in a lemon brown butter dressing)
- salmon cooked to perfection, the skin is crispy, and combined with the brussel sprouts and dressing? We were impressed!
.
Meatballs (Beef and pork meatballs in a mild spiced tomato sauce, topped with shaved parmesan served with grilled sourdough toast)
- we love good meatballs, and they have just what we need! We finished every bit of this dish! The meatballs were amazing, and the sauce was super good - you can taste this slightly spicy sauce and it’s an absolute winner!
.
They have a good selection of cold pressed juices as well, we tried two - both very refreshing and delicious!
-Kale, Cucumber, Apple, Celery, Capsicum
-Carrot, Apple, Orange, Lemon, Turmeric
.
Their coffee and chai were also good! Especially on a cold winter’s day!
Loved the vibe of this cafe so much! We sat in the outdoor area which was so comfortable and nicely designed. We ordered the meatballs, folded eggs and french pancake, all were delicious! The team was lovely and friendly. Will definitely be visiting again!
Will come back for:
+ Cold press juices
+ Croque Madame
+ French pancake
It’s been a while since we popped by here for breakfast. Didn’t realise there was a change in ownership. Still love the cold press juices - super fresh and tangy. We tried a couple of dishes from the new menu and liked the croque madame (especially the cheese and ham combo), and the French pancake which had lots of textures and fresh ingredients. The balance of flavor seems a touch off this time round for the Egg Benedict though - all the flavors seem to just mush together. Staff were lovely and friendly and the space remains homely and comforting. Prices are reasonable for what you get and the place is clearly still a favourite for the locals on the weekend.
Beautiful sun soaked outdoor courtyard.
We loved the outdoor seating this cafe offers, which you can bring your furry friend to as well!
Smashed avo and scrambled eggs were tasty, especially if you love a bit of a fancy order!
Great coffee and great vibes that we will definitely visit again soon! 🙏🙏🙏🙏

There’s nothing better than a sunny cafe courtyard on a winter’s morning, cosied up under some outdoor heaters. I was pleasantly surprised by Porgie and Mr Jones’ outdoor space a few weekends ago, which had a minimalist aesthetic punctuated by leafy plants. We took our seats and perused the menu – I was being one of those incredibly annoying people who took three visits from the waitress before settling on… avo toast (yup, #sorrynotsorry). The choice was rendered so very difficult due to the other delicious wintery options on the menu – I had my eye on the moorish beef and pork meatballs in a mild spiced tomato sauce, or the eggs benny.
We really enjoyed ourselves at Porgie recently, loved the vibes of this cafe, and the staff were attentive and lovely too! And the food was a bonus- my favourite being the Chilli Scrambled! 😍

Our new Hawthorn go-to has the best food and coziest armchairs!
What we had:
🍳 Soft folded eggs with goats curd and the best chilli jam - we wanted to bottle it to go!
🥑 Gorgeous green bowl with quinoa, kale, edamame and a perfect avo wedge!
🥓 Not pictured: the crispiest, bacon-y Brussel sprouts!
Loved the rustic interior and good food! Can't wait to go back (:

Delicious brunch spot, serving speciality coffee, and my matcha latte.
.
French influenced dishes, or maybe european influence dishes
Nicely executed
A beautiful space that offers a large interior, as well as a stunning courtyard out the back.
The cafe offers a good variety of food, and you won’t be disappointed with the options!
We had the cured salmon & meat balls. Both fantastic options and those meatballs definitely hit the spot on a cold winter morning!

Perfect place for a morning coffee and cake or brunch! The muffin melted in our mouth with a large array of hot drinks to complement. Food was great- classic smashed avocado & bircher museli that has a strong chia seed influence.
Porgie & Mr Jones has an amazing little brunch garden out back partnered with the amazing menu you have on offer will have people constantly coming back for sure. We got a combination of sweet & savoury with their Seared Salmon & French Pancake making it such a delicious brunching experience. With the autumn foliage in their brunch garden, it makes it such an instagram-able and delicious experience
We arrived at Porgie and Mr Jones for breakfast and we were surprised by the large courtyard out the back!
We were seated and served by friendly staff. We ordered a latte, almond milk chai latte, breakfast burger and salmon Benedict and had no complaints! Everything was delicious and we couldn’t have ask for a better experience!
Had the best service and nice food at porgie and me Jones last week end, I also fell in love with the ambiance of the place it almost felt like I was at a park filled with autumn vibes , i specially loved the seared salmon and meet balls , and my friend love the pancake with pear 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Will definitely come back again
This was a nice find on a Sunday morning
The salmon was full of flavour although maybe just a tiny bit over cooked for my liking
Staff were friendly and attentive
If you live around here, do yourself a favor and visit; ASAP.
If you don't live around here, its worth the travel, so do yourself a favor and visit; ASAP.
When we walked in to Porgie and Mr Jones on a Saturday morning. It was so quiet and we were surprised and thankful at the same time. We sat at the newly renovated outside area. Such a great spot for a coffee and breakfast. Vibrant, bright, modern.
Service is really great here. The girls that served us were so attentive and had some great recommendations in regards to the menu.
We settled for the croque madame, pork benedict and French pancake.
You MUST try the croque madame if you are a cheese lover. It is the perfect ham and cheese sandwich with copious amounts of cheese, bechamel and fried egg. And if that's not enough, try a side of tater tots. Soooo good.
The pork benedict was just amazing. The pork not overcooked or dry, the hollandaise light and fulsome and two perfectly poached eggs on top of a delicious provolone waffle. Delish.
You can't leave this place before you try the French pancake. It is cooked in its own little dish, it's thin and full of yum with roasted pear to cut through the sweetness of the chestnut paste and almond biscuit. Simply yum.
If only we lived right next to you Porgie and Mr Jones. We would be there always.
Absolutely loved this place. Hubby had the Benedict and said the potato waffle went perfectly with the ham hock, whilst I had the seared salmon. The salmon was cooked perfectly and was such a refined and pretty dish. Service was very warm and friendly, you could see the staff actually enjoy being there and are full of smiles. The coffee was a work of art and one of the best I’ve had in a long time.
Can’t wait to come back with the rest of the family next time
Best cafe in Hawthorn! I come here often and every time the food and service is amazing. Coffee is spot on too, these guys and girls really know how to nail it. Plenty of space for prams which is a huge plus for us
Good service. I was seated promptly and near the outdoor heater on a Sunday. So that's a win from me.
I had the green bowl and enjoyed it. Looked healthy and pretty delicious.
Nice ambience sitting in or outdoors; rustic. Great and friendly service. The cafe latte had a nice layer of micro foam with latte art, afloat on the crema of the coffee. Nice depth and taste. The eggs Benedict that I had was beautifully layered; at the bottom, with a potato rosti like waffle which was crispy on the outside; above the potato, slow cooked pulled pork which melts in your mouth; above the pork, two beautifully poached eggs with golden runny yolks; above the eggs, hollandaise sauce that was different from the usual, had its own tangy, creamy flavour that melded all the components together; above it all, micro herbs and julienned green apple that complimented it all. Would definitely visit again!

It's been a while Porgie. I remember the days when you were cash only but I dealt with it. Fast forward a bit of time, and your food is still great, and you finally accept credit cards.
I had the Benedict with ham hock. The eggs were perfectly runny, hock was most and not too salty, and oh those potato waffles.... Every cafe should replace their English muffins or sourdough with these. DH had a juicy fried chicken burger with a bit of a spicy mayo and ultra crunchy fries.
It's been a while Porgie, but let's not be strangers again.
Cute garden our back to sit and eat in. Waited some time for a waiter to notice we were at the ‘please wait to be seated’ sign and to seat us. Food came out quite fast. I had the Salmon & Fritter and my boyfriend had the Golden folded eggs. Both were really good and super filling. However I didn’t like the lime marscarpone with the dish. Would come back here to try some other dishes!
Great coffee and very diverse menu for either brekky or lunch. The folded eggs with chilli were fabulous . The salmon was sensational. Highly recommended and will be back.
Great place for breakfast or brunch. Attentive service and good food. They were very busy on the day we were there for a weekend brunch as they had 2 events running upstairs and the back courtyard. The food was a fair portion and I would say my personal favourite was the Salmon with Rosti which had an amazing beetroot dip! The wrapped eggs was pretty much scrambled eggs with bacon but it’s a good size. The vibes of this cafe is inviting and I love the ambience. The only downside I would say would be slightly on the pricey side but it’s Hawthorn anyway...and they only have one toilet and parking can be very tricky if you are driving.
