New favourite pizza and pasta joint. Don't go pass calamari which is slightly spiced, crab spaghetti and Glenferrie pizza.
Food, drink, service and atmosphere is all excellent. Such a great price for the flavoursome food. I have been there several times, it's consistent. I highly recommend eating at Santoni's, it doesn't dissapoint ���
Visited here for the first time this evening. Not disappointed. Had diner on the rooftop and me and my friend had the Mamas tasting menu for $50. It was amazing value , so much food and some amazing dishes. The calamari, tomato salad entree and the main course gnocchi were amazing

We had our grandmothers 97th Birthday here last night and could not have been more pleased with the outcome. The food was absolutely beautiful and the staff went out of their way to assist with anything we required - a cushion for my grandma, turning the music down so we could do a speech, keeping the cake in the fridge etc. Service was fantastic, food was fantastic, atmosphere was fantastic!! We will definitely be coming back! Thank you to everyone at Santoni for making our night wonderful.

Absolutely amazing location. We were seated on the rooftop as it was a magnificent beautiful day. Unfortunately they ran out of Oysters that day but I don’t mind as the menu had many other options. Had the truffle oil prosciutto pizza and was absolutely delicious and followed up by the panna cotta dessert which was sweet beautifully made. Will definitely return.
Really excellent pizza, great quiet environment, friendly and attentive staff. A good experience and a great meal. Highly recommend the prosciutto tarfuto, but there’s many great options. No complaints!

Was lucky enough to visit Santoni on a lovely summers day, not a cloud in the sky! Sat up on the rooftop level, which was gorgeous - the setting feels really Greek islands Mediterranean 👏
I ordered a lychee martini and the margarita pizza with buffalo mozzarella and had a lovely meal!
Would definitely return - nothing bad to mention here folks! Except maybe the stairs to the top 😂 - best to walk off those lunch calories anyway though I suppose!

2. The Glenferrie Pizza with San Marzano tomato, mozzarella, ham, mushroom, salami, onion, capsicum, olives, garlic & herbs - to be frank i wasn’t that happy with the pizza but not complaining totally, it will little overcooked but tasted okay.
3. Pretty Micky Fizz Cocktail with Plymouth Sloe Gin, lemon, lime, St Germain, peach bitters, milk,
topped with soda, I totally loved this and it was suggested by one of the staff.

Stopped by for a quick drink on a sunny day. The rooftop is quiet and relaxing and the mojito well keep them coming. Will definitely be back for a proper feed.

I celebrated New Year’s Eve at Santoni. I wasn’t sure what to expect. Tickets were $85 each and the venue advertised views of the fireworks. Big call. Could there actually be views of fireworks in Hawthorn? I was about to find out. The ticket comes with a free spitz drink and other drinks were also on the house if you showed your ticket. We were worried we wouldn’t receive much food but there was so much of it, and so much variety! We had pizzas, scallops, seared tuna, arancini balls, popcorn chicken, meatballs and massive hamburgers! My favourites were the pepperoni pizza, scallops and meatballs! We also had a very nice view of the fireworks 😊 perfect way to celebrate New Year’s Eve!
Only words of advice would be to provide more tooth picks for the food... difficult to eat meatballs and the scallops with just our hands. Was glad to see they caught on to this later on in the night and had tooth picks for the meatballs. Also some of the food such as pizza is messy to eat without a plate, so ensuring everyone has napkins would be great! Also maybe play a different selection of music next time. All the music sounded very similar.

The food here was great, we dined on the second level and the atmosphere was amazing... I love the big floor to ceiling window overlooking Glenferrie Rd... The pizzas are delicious and really nicely cooked on a thin but crispy base... we also had the beer battered chips and the chicken salad which was equally nice.

Lucky enough to work down the road from here. A great Hawthorn gem to go with a group. My fave is the Salsiccia pizza. Packed full of flavour with flecks of fennel seeds heightening the sauce. Great Italian sausage. I’d give this a 4.5 if given the option. Only downside is not having a small size pizza option for those times you want to go solo. Gets busy during nice weather and given the location, it usually gets booked for work functions so reserve a table if you can if going with a group. Highly recommend.
Had the Greek boy Pizza with a couple of drinks after work. Pizza was delicious! Nice ambience, really liked sitting on the rooftop. Also great place to go in Summer
Have been meaning to try this pizza place for so long & am super glad I finally did!
There are so many choices on the menu it took us all a while to choose as they also have entrees and pasta dishes. I ended up picking the “Glenferrie” which had ham, mushrooms, olives, onion and capsicum and was so delicious.
They also have a sweet pizza with Nutella which I would love to try next time.
Lovely ambience out on the deck on a warm night, but tonight we ate inside. With a large window on the first floor you get to look down Glenferrie Road, it also creates a great atmosphere. Normally I have a pizza gluten free but today I tried the pasta carbonara gf. Yummy. Partner had the chilli pasta and said it was great. Wine list is great though a little expensive for a pasta pizza joint.
Attentive and friendly service, amazing rooftop space for summer and delicious pasta dishes (all had the pasta with prawns and were happy with the portion size and more importantly the amounts of prawns in them!). Yes a bit expensive but we thought the food to be of a high quality and we had an enjoyable night here.

Nice but not amazing.
I came here with a group recently for the first time after hearing so much about it from friends. We shared about five different pizzas which were all nice but nothing spectacular and a tad expensive for what they were. Besides their classic pizzas, my favourite was the Greek style pizza with lamb - nice thin crust and a very tasty topping. Their rooftop is nice and spacious and a good spot for the summertime. Overall I enjoyed my dinner but this would not be my first choice due to the pricing. Aperol Spritz cost about $17 too which we thought was a little over the top.
The food is really nice but make sure you go to the restaurant and eat there rather than ordering. Given the nature of the pizza (traditional Italian) the ride can be tough on them. This is not the fault of the restaurant but I wouldn’t be ordering take out again. Eating in is a nice experience anyway because it’s a cool place however can at tomes feel a little cramped.
While the food is good it is very overpriced for what you get.
I live just around the corner and can't believe it's taken me this long to finally try Santoni. Sadly, it wasn't as good as I had hoped, but it was decent.
The pizza is not world beating, but it's nice, the toppings are fair and the crust is quite crunchy (if that's your thing). The service is friendly, but my biggest gripe is the price. Most pizzas range between $23-28, which is far too expensive for this sort of pizza. That's territory occupied by 400 Gradi and others of its ilk, of which this place does sit amongst. For $25, I'll head to Gradi, +39 etc any day of the week. Still, a nice place to have around if I'm looking to take people to eat some honest, but not particularly memorable pizza.
Came here for dinner and really enjoyed myself. The service was great and the food was really good. I had the pesce crudo and the spaghetti (crab, chilli, Napoli, Parmesan). The pesce crudo was really interesting although a little too sour. The wasabi peas added and interesting touch but I wished it didn't come in the big chunks that they did. The spaghetti on the other hand was phenomenal. It was flavorful and really hit the spot for me. I just wished the portions for both dishes were bigger. That being said, I can't wait to come here again some time!
The food and the coffee are amazing. Great pizza's definitely try the prosciutto tartuffo. Service is amazing as well, and the place is very well kept, music and cocktails on the roof top are great, as well as the mood and the view, stunning!

We were going to the Hawthorn Arts Centre to see FourPlay last night and needed a coffee before we headed in. Santoni is just around the corner, so we popped in there. It was Friday night, EOFY and they were really busy, but they couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. They made the coffees quickly, efficiently and with love. We all had different requirements and all were met. The coffee was delicious. Perfect. I'll be back for a proper meal.
A really cool joint to visit on a sunny day. The roof top is great. Came here on Saturday for a friend's birthday, and we were seated immediately up on the rooftop, although it is a little bit of a hike on those steep stairs, but the view and atmosphere is worth it.
Food wise, the aroma, presentation and taste were very good. The pizza was not soggy , so that won me over !Quality ingredients on the pizza. Would definitely visit again soon!

Wondered to Glenferrie Rd on a coldish Thursday night and had heard good things about Santoni! We were seated immediately upstairs by friendly staff & were pleasantly surprised by a bustling, busy atmosphere with one amazing smell of food...
Onto the real stuff: with beautiful thin, crispy bases (ToFeedTwo always consider bases to be key to a good pizza), the Proscuitto Tartufo & Caramelised Onion were simply outstanding - succulent & light. The Caramelised Onion perhaps lacked a little bit of flavour but was otherwise fine, while the truffle oil/cream was certainly evident in the Proscuitto pizza!

We decided to try this place on a warm night so we could sit on the rooftop, and it was a very lovely atmosphere up there! The staff were friendly and very attentive. We chose the Glenferrie pizza and the truffle pizza to share, and both were delicious. I personally loved the truffle pizza, which was also recommended by the staff. The pizzas are a bit more on the expensive side, but definitely worth it for the gourmet taste.
We came here on Saturday night without a booking, staff managed to seat us up up stairs in the roof top bar. I got the mushroom risotto and my boyfriend wanted to get the Bologna pizza and the penne pasta!
I think the risotto was the best meal on the table and I'm a massive carnivore. Pizza was tasty but had a soggy bottom. The pasta was okay, but was definitely lacking flavour in the sauce. Views are amazing and the staff are very friendly.
Great local gem... until everyone found out about it. Don't get me wrong the pizzas here are still super yummy and fresh but the price tag has gone up and the size has gone down. The positive is the rooftop dining - great place for a boozy lunch on a sunny day. And you can work off all your carbs with climbing all these stairs!

Good pizza but not the best in the area. Prices we're fairly high too, considering the rather small size of the pizzas.
All in all, the bill for just two of us eating 1 pizza each, and sharing 1 minuscule entree, without any drinks or desserts, came to $70+. This would be acceptable if they were incredible pizzas or at least sizeable to the point of us leaving with full bellies, but we were both still hungry when we left.
Great for a rooftop pizza in summer with a. Few beers. Bring mates or a babe, and enjoy yourself. Service is quite good, food is tasty, obviously the pizzas and you've got options to dine inside if it's cold and wet.
Was a touch pricy, but worth it.
Came here to celebrate my son's 10th birthday with extended family. We were very pleased to have a private area assigned to us for this special occasion. I struggle to think of anything that could be improved. Pizzas were excellent as was the pasta and risotto. All very tasty. As for the salad, well how good can a salad be anyway?!
The staff were very engaging, helpful and friendly and didn't miss a beat.
We will definitely be back.

Staff were attentive, friendly, efficient and patient for a big group like ours even when we were in a room tucked away from the main restaurant. I felt the pizzas were a bit too soft for my liking but we did enjoy the flavours of all the pizza's we ordered, especially The Glenferrie being the most popular. I really liked the taste of the tomato base, not too intense and overpowering, just the right amount to complement the rest of the ingredients.
The spaghetti (just need to be a little more al dente), risotto and the gargenelli were delicious. Would happily order these again (but maybe without the whipped ricotta on the gargenelli next time..own personal preference!). Pasta probably a bit pricey for what it is but flavour, comfort and service won here.
Would love to come here again and enjoy the views from the top deck on a warmer night.
We shared a ‘Capricciosa – San Marzano tomato, ham, mushroom, artichoke, olives, mozzarella and oregano ($21.50)’. The pizza tasted like Italy with a decent amount of toppings covering a wafer-thin base.
Always packed, has a great cool vibe to it. Pizza's were nice with a firm crust, the toppings were fresh but I think the cheese combo was not quite right. The cheese slide off all the pizzas. Our pasta was very firm but the ragu was very good. Service from entry to server was very good and food came out promptly.
Super cold beers and great wine by the glass.
I think it's a great place for groups and press club meals. I've only just realised it's Santoni not Santorini hahaha. If you order the Capricciosa you have to ask for anchovies, it doesn't come with it.
My favourite pizza in Melbourne is the caramelised onion pizza from Santoni! The food here is quite pricey so I was skeptical at first, but I soon realised it was well worth it. I always opt for the caramelised onion pizza here, it is delicious. I personally love thin, crispy crust which is what they do at this restuarant. The pizza is a decent size with a good amount of toppings, it is really flavoursome and I would recommend the pizza at this restaurant.
Had a great experience here the other night when visiting after a recommendation. Pasta selection was very limited but you come here for the gourmet wood fire pizza which didn't disappoint. Can't wait to try more of the pizza menu
Good Italian food with great ambience and view from the rooftop. Came here for dinner for my friend's birthday, we were greeted warmly the minute we walked in. The waitress who served us was really friendly and helpful. We ordered the mixed plate, prosciutto pizza, the Greek boy pizza, spaghetti with crab and osso bucco parpadelle. The parpadelle is definitely my favourite dish of the night and we actually did order another one because we just can't have enough of it! Will recommend it to my friends for sure.
Great pizza! The pizza is so delicious and never disappoints. The pizza always tastes fresh and like pizza should. Service is fantastic as well and the atmosphere is great.

Love the pizza here! Cheesy and tasty- so good. We ordered the lamb pizza, beer battered chips and a rocket,pear and candied walnut salad. Chips were crunchy and generous and the salad was delicious! I could've eaten a whole bowl of those walnuts. Overall nice place for dinner.
Here the place is small, but they have two levels of seating (upstairs and downstairs). Here I chose the seat by the window.There are only five other reviews and after 2:30pm on a Tuesday I was the only customer there. All the Swinburne students are having their mid semester break and same as RMIT.Santoni is a pizza place in Hawthorn and this business has liked a lot of my Instagram photos. So I thought it was time to pay them a visit just to say thanks.

Came here with friends on a Thursday night for a casual meal - we arrived at 6:30 and were seated immediately on the first floor. Though the restaurant was never completely packed (in our opinion), there were certainly lots of groups coming and going through the night.
The three of us (girls) shared two pizzas: the caramelised onion and the mexicana. The wait was reasonable, and the pizza came out hot. Each pizza had a generous amount of topping, and the size was quite good (especially with the amount of topping) for the price (though it certainly is not a cheap option for pizza).
I especially liked the crust of the pizza, as though it did have air and was quite high, it still had a textured and soft inside that tasted more substantial than just a crispy edge or completely hollow crust.
Both pizzas were tasty, but I preferred the caramelised pizza, which is a definite must have! The pizza came with a generous amount of cheese, with lots of onion you could see and definitely taste, and the rocket salad on top was not too strong and bitter.
The mexicana pizza was good too, but I found the first bite I had had a large jalapeño, which was so hot it felt like it could burn my mouth. Whilst I tend to think I have a relatively good tolerance for chilli, it seemed a bit unbalanced for the rest of the dish, and discouraged me from having a lot more. After that, the rest of the flavours were harder to distinguish, and I think the onion pizza definitely had a stronger and more clarified flavour.
The two pizzas was the perfect amount for us.
Finally, I have to make some comments on the service - all the staff were definitely friendly and eager to help, but we did notice some strange practices (disclaimer: I am sure other people may not find this as a problem, I just would like to mention it).
Firstly, two of us arrived together and went up immediately to be seat. As we arrived upstairs, we were asked the number of guests (three) and were quickly seated at a table for three. Once seated, another waitress came by and asked how many of us there were (and we once again replied). Then, another waitress came by and asked the same question. We then received a drink menu, and after two minutes of it being on the table, the waitress came back and asked if we wanted to order anything. We declined, and the waitress was about to walk away with the menu when we reminded her we were still waiting for our other friend, who may want to look at the menu. Whilst this may be considered as just waitresses looking to be helpful, it was a little frustrating to have to constantly answer the same question, when usually a restaurant would have one waiter per table (who would then not need to ask the same thing over and over)
Secondly, the staff were equally as enthusiastic at clearly away our plates. I had stopped eating for a short period, and must have left my cutlery in a manner indicating I was finished (a knife and fork on either side of the edge of the plate), and a waitress came by to grab them. I quickly indicated that there was in fact still a whole pizza remaining, and that I would continue to eat.
Then, when we did appear to be closer to finishing, a waitress came by to clear our plates, giving us about 0.3 of a second to respond to her query of us being finished before she started grabbing all our things. This left her awkwardly holding my friend's cutlery as she decided whether she wanted to eat the final piece of pizza still on our table. I understand this is just part of the service waitresses are supposed to provide, however it would have been nice to actually listen to our response before just taking everything away.
Overall, we all had a good night, and the food was quite good. Looking forward to trying out the rooftop when the weather gets nicer!
Had a quick dinner there with friends on the rooftop. It was winter & cold outside but the rooftop is really well heated so the temperature was very comfortable. I had the "prosciutto tartufo" pizza and the ingredients were really delicious, although the pizza dough/crust could be a bit better. The atmosphere is great as is the location. Service was good but almost too much - we were interrupted in the middle of our conversations every 5mins to check that we were all ok. It's nice to check on your customers but it doesn't have to be that often or right in the middle of a big conversation :-)
Overall good experience and will be back. (Need to come again to review this place properly as this was a really rushed dinner).
I can't give a full review as I have only had coffee here (but will be back for a full breakfast experience). The coffee was decent but I love the view! It's fabulous - made even better by the fact that it's FINALLY sunny in Melbourne today and I can enjoy a rooftop coffee in the sun :) stay tuned - I will be back!

Recently we headed out for our annual three way birthday dinner celebration. Having all your birthdays in the same week can be very efficient! For this year's event we chose Santoni on Glenferrie. I've driven past a lot lately and seen their great looking pizzas on Instagram!
I know, it’s hard to leave your neighbourhood once you get comfortable. But half the fun of going to brunch should be in exploring new necks of the woods. Which is exactly why I’m recommending that this weekend, you head to Hawthorn and try out Santoni. When I left Glenferrie Station, my eye was drawn to the rooftop of a three-story Victorian terraced house on the corner of Glenferrie Road and Burwood. Decked out in ferns and colourful umbrellas, I knew that that was the spot I was meant to go. Stepping into Santoni Pizza (the original pizzeria was opened in 2007 on the ground floor), I was directed upstairs.
Went here with a big group and everything tasted amazing.
We all ordered starters, mains, sides and desserts and were happy with every dish that came out

I've been here a few times and have always gotten the pizzas. Today was the first time I noticed they had a breakfast menu.
I ordered the fluffy mashed potatoes with bresaola and poached eggs. When it first arrived it looked really impressive but didn't live up to its appearance. The problem was that one of the poached eggs were slightly underdone so when I broke it open, white liquid flooded my plate and diluted the overall flavour of the dish and it was not the most appetising. But ignoring that the potenta chips were amazing and the pizza was good, as can be expected.
The place has a beautiful rooftop and indoor seating as well. The Food was good where the pizzas were thin in crust. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, service " in a jiffy " .
We went on a weekday evening. Great vibe, great service. We ordered pizzas. Great thin and crunchy base, fresh topping. If it was just for pizza, I would definitely choose this place over Rococo down the road.

We got a share plate which contained cured meats, cheese and bread which was delicious and then a pizza. The pizza was fresh, not too oily at all and a great thin base!!! This place is new and fresh, loved the upstairs seating was really well designed with views of glenferrie rd. Came here with the girls for pizzas "the glenferrie" was super tasty and there was a fight for the last piece as well as with the "Greek boy" however the vegetarian was a big disappointment, lacking a wide variety of veg or any flavour for that. Staff will nice however and will be back !
As a lover of all things pizza and pasta, Santoni Pizza & Bar was a delight to dine in. We were seated at the rooftop where we had a great view. The pizza we had was delicious and full of flavour, but the pasta we ordered was average considering the price. Staff were friendly and patient as it took us a while to decide what to order. Overall, a great dine-in experience with good service and pizzas but food were definitely on the pricier side.
