The food was great. We had a banquet for over 10 people. Very delicipus. Lots of yummy veges. Table service not so great. If you want a drink go to the bar yourself. Even so. Great food. Comfortable seating. Very friendly staff.

Sapa Hills 2 continues to be very popular with the locals. I came here for dinner with a few friends and ordered dishes rather than the usual pho. Everything we had was delicious but serving sizes were slightly disappointing.
The banh xue was well put together but could have done with more fillings. The mixed vegetable dish was fresh and nicely seasoned. The scallop fish cake was quite unique. We also had fried chicken ribs which had a nice crunchy coating.
Will certainly be back again.

Fast, furious, friendly, flavoursome, fantastic feasts. I have tried almost every dish here over the years and am yet to strike a mediocre one. The spring rolls, pho, Vietnamese coleslaw, broken rice, salt and pepper calamari and three coloured drink are particular favourites. It can get a bit loud in the restaurant, but I think that only speaks to the popularity of the place.

LOVE Sapa Hills Hawthorn. Charcoal BBQ pork, chicken ribs, eggplant hot pot, lamb ribs, beef pho had silky hand made noodles, fried rice all superb. Relaxed but modern clean surrounds, prompt friendly service, very good value and excellent quality of food. We are regulars.

This place is one of the best Vietnamese upscale restaurants I can say we have in Melbourne.
Consistency in the taste of their food is their biggest quality. They cater to vegetarians too and are able to create their dishes without the use of oyster sauce n fish oil which is a big plus if you are a vegetarian. Their meat dishes are out of this world , the spicy sauce choices are perfectly seasoned and their cocktails are a great companion to the overall meal.
There is something on the menu for every one

The sliced beef pho is so delicious! It’s affordable ($12), substantial, and always fresh. It’s my go-to takeaway in Hawthorn, particularly during Winter when I want a nice warming and filling soup. It’s always really quick, pick up in 5-10 min from ordering.
This place is exceptional! The reviews don't lie. Very diverse and extensive menu so a lot to choose from which always encourages you to come back. Quality is amazing, fast and very friendly service and well priced. The area is big so always seating and easy to find parking generally. Relaxed ambience and the owner is so lovely

I have ordered take away a few times because Sapa Hills has the best authentic bún chả in Melbourne - the flavour is on par with what you would have in Hanoi. Nailed it. But takeaway also means at least a few of plastic container (guilty!), so I finally came in to eat. The restaurant has a nice feels and large seating area. I couldn’t help but getting bún chả again lol seriously everyone should try it. So good, if only they give more complimentary lettuce so I can finish the sauce. We also had green papaya coleslaw - nice flavour with the right punch, very refreshing entree - and the southern noodles hủ tiếu thập cẩm, of which my friend didn’t like the noodles saying it was not the right type. Given the restaurant name is Sapa Hills maybe they don’t specialize in Southern Vietnam cuisine.
***Note: If you are going to seat at outside area: due to the construction site next door it’s pretty dusty! Like true Vietnamese, we wiped the utensils and tableware ourselves, but I hope the restaurant will pay more attention to this.
I’ve dined here and ordered take away, and the food never disappoints! Every dish is full of flavour and cooked really well. I love the rice vermicelli with pork and spring rolls, the beef in vine leaves and the rice paper rolls. But everything we order is always delicious! The staff are really friendly and the large space caters for big groups well. So glad this is one of our local Vietnamese restaurants!

Nice ambience, food is decent and well priced for the lunch crowd. Probably geared more towards the Aussie crowd but they also have interesting dishes for some wanting a little authenticity.
Came here for late lunch for some good quality Vietnamese dishes and they certainly deliver red. Ordered the banh xeo with pork and prawn, which is a Vietnamese savoury pancake and it definitely takes me home. We also ordered the flounder with tamarind sauce and it was also well cooked. Perfect crispness and tender fish. Will be coming back soon.
Awesome place if you have to try out the Vietnamese cuisine. Very mellow melody and just about perfect ambience for an afternoon lunch.
What I love about this place the most is the variety of chicken that one savour. The charcoal grilled chicken and stir fried chicken and tomato rice with a wide variety of chicken is amazing.
You could top it off with an moderate collection of vines or beverages and then you should be able to call it a “Perfect weekday work Lunch” yippees !!!

Brunch with my mate of 18 years and her brood. Lets just make this clear, if you need a child friendly place-this one is for you. its not easy taking my own twin toddlers out for a meal at the moment. They just run a muck now. The kids corner is entertaining so much, we stayed for hours. parking no problem. Now to some yummy things. won tons steamed are great especially for toddlers. vermicelli noodle anthing was a hit with kids, aswell as fried rice and crispy spring rolls. I especially loved the viet salad with seafood and chicken vege dishes. Not sold on the duck with orange sauce. dessert - panacotta and banana fritters were a hit. the staff are accomodating friendly and love kids. Would go back for sure. Reasonably priced.

Came here after trying the original Sapa Hills in Footscray. What a change in restaurant with a large open dining room and a covered heated courtyard to boot. My favourite has always been the bun cha Hanoi as this dish isn't always featured at other Vietnamese restaurants. The grilled pork slices were just as delicious as I remembered, but unfortunately the Hanoi spring rolls were smaller and cut up into pieces, unlike the Footscray ones. Will definitely still return to try more of the extensive menu!

She helped us ordered the foods: i) Obama’s Crab Cake ii) Steamed Wontons iii) Grilled Beef in Vine Leaves iv) Sapa Hills Special Spring Rolls v) Spring rolls vi) Rice Vermicelli with Charcoal Pork Belly vii) Custard Apple drink
We all enjoyed the food and drinks, except the Obama’s Crab Cake, it was only average. The house made fish sauce goes well with all the starters especially the grilled beef in vine leaves. The ultimate winner for the night was the Rice Vermicelli with Charcoal Prok Belly, words can’t describe how delicate the dish was. The flavour was so impactful and made us crave for more. The fresh raw vegetables leaves go so well with the Smokey grilled pork and fish sauce broth.
The service was great and staffs were friendly. Price was affordable and worth it.
Will come back for more.

The seafood here was awesome. Try the grilled oysters and the crocodile fillet. We also had a grilled Barramundi but it was bland. Strongly recommended.

I had the eggplant and vegetable clay pot and steamed rice because I love eggplant. Enough tofu and mushrooms but needed more greens or chinese cabbage. Delicious but extra chili sauce and soya sauce was needed for my tastebuds. Patio area was quite well heated as it was a cold day and was surprised it was comfortable.

I've been here a couple of times and had the bun cha and it's just like the ones in Hanoi except spicy. I'm so happy to finally find a restaurant in Melbourne that sells bun cha because it's my favorite Vietnamese dish. I went here last night with my family for my bday dinner. We ordered the banquet and a bun cha. All the food was nice especially the bun cha, the fried rice and the orange duck. Service was slow between entrees and mains and when my Dad enquired the staff were a bit rude after that. They also forgot about my wine. Other then that it's a really good place and I'd come back and try the crocodile in XO sauce. They also have a kids corner which is good for my niece.

I went here tonight with family for my Mum's birthday. We got the same banquet as before. Most of the food was still nice but the orange duck wasn't so great, it was tiny pieces and I didn't like the flavour so much. The Hanoi style spring rolls were amazing, much better than the ones at Hanoi Hannah. I don't think I'll get desserts from here again, I ordered the coconut and banana cake but it wasn't a cake it was made of rice and it was very filling but not so tasty. I think next time we'll order off the menu instead of getting the banquet. It was a Tuesday night so there weren't so many people in the restaurant, this meant that service was more efficient. I'll probably come back soon for the bun Cha and to try other Hanoi style dishes.

Went there for dinner tonight. There were 4 of us. We were attended to as soon as we stepped in. Staff in Sapa Hill II was very friendly and attentive. Ambiance of the restaurant was modern and clean. Food was delicious!! Grilled beef wrapped with vine leaves, papaya salad with beef, prawns coated with salted egg yolk and sapa hill's charcoal pork belly were amazingly delicious. We also had the rice paper rolls which wasn't the best we ever had and the crocodile fillet with xo sauce...not bad but not amazing either...the crocs was a bit tough. Overall, highly recommended

$30.00 Salt & Pepper Flounder could be even better, was missing some Coriander and Chilies.
$16.00 Tofu & Snow Peas was a bit bland, must add Fungus next time.

Really classy-looking restaurant with nice interior décor and decent tasting food at reasonable prices. Getting service was difficult as there was only two floor staff working during lunchtime. Other than that, would definitely return.
Great Vietnamese restaurant in Melbourne
Being a Vietnamese I reckon that pretty much all of Vietnamese restaurants more or less are missing something to actually be able to recreate the genuine tastes and flavours. With that being said, Sapa Hills 2 is actually my second favourite Vietnamese restaurant here in Melbourne with No 1 belongs to Hoa Tran. Anyhow the food quality is close to the same ones in Vietnam with milder taste which by all mean is fine. Love the Rice dish with Chargrilled Porks there and also the Hanoi Vermicelli Noodles. Coffe was so-so though. And price is reasonable enough if you're in a bind and still want tasty foods. Staffs were friendly enough but I found it odd that sometimes there was no one around to ask for stuffs or even to pay your bill.
Overall it's a solid 4.5 out of 5 experience for me. Definitely will come back in the future.
Let there be pancakes! The seafood Vietnamese pancake was delicious and a new addition to the menu. Haven't been here for awhile so great to see the dishes are still tasty and generous. Spacious setting to enjoy a meal with friends.
The pho was huge. Not only was it in a huge bowl, within was loads of noodles and an abundance of beef, chicken and beef balls. There was also a generous amount of bean sprouts accompanying this huge bowl. Noodles were silky smooth and cooked to just the right softness.
The beef and chicken were tender and flavourful. The broth was steaming hot, rich and full of flavour which made it perfect for cooking the bean sprouts. This was absolutely spot on in every way.
Admittedly I often find pho a tad underwhelming. However on this occasion, the ingredients, cooking and flavour were absolutely on point. At this price point, this pho simply can’t be beaten.
Congratulations Tam a great restaurant. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the staff were very friendly this made for a very enjoyable evening. The chef selections were terrific and served very well. The other meals we ordered were just as good. We have eaten in many Vietnamese restaurants but this is 10/10.
Cost was very reasonable for the amount we ate. We certainly will promote Sapa Hills to our friends.
Went to there for dinner alone! After spent hours on my final thesis, really need Sth warm with soup. Then, decided to come to sapa hills for a quick dinner for pho! I love their place! But felt really sorry for dropped my carrot & celery juice on their floor! ahh, it's carpet! So sorry for that, and finish pho at very short time. Cannot give them a lower score for what I have done!
Standard Vietnamese fare. We had the rice paper rolls with chicken which were tasty but by no means exceptional. The san choi bao with meat were okay. Has a good area to entertain kids with toys etc. There's better Vietnamese food available in Hawthorn.

A very spacious place to bring a group to. Nice decor and friendly staff. Has been one of my favourite places for lunch as they used to have quality Vietnamese food at good prices (they have jacked up their prices this year which is a bummer).
What a delightful place. Heaps and heaps of options and even vegetarians can have lots of great food choices. Eggplant, Tofu or Broccoli everything prepared in superb manner.

We are regulars to this place. Compared to the other Vietnamese restaurants down Glenferrie Road, this one looks more appealing and with more comfortable seating. Foods are a tad more expensive than the other one, but reasonably priced. The place is clean and tidy. Food are of good flavour. I like their Pho and spring rolls.

A busy and loud restaurant serving authentic Vietnamese. After visiting Hanoi we were keen to recreate the delicious bun cha experience back home.
Between the three of us we ordered who of the vermicelli and grilled pork and one plate of spring rolls. Everything came out pretty quick and the taste was pretty spot on. Lots of fresh greens, soft rice noodles, tasty charred meat in a light fishy sauce with green papaya. I did ask for garlic and chilli and the side, this was forgotten but forgiveable. I wish the sauces were warm so that the meat would have been hot instead of Luke warm, but that is just how it served... I had the same complaint while in Vietnam. The spring rolls were lovely and crispy with that bubbly wrapper.
We were so impressed, we stayed for dessert - sticky date pud for $6? We got dessert too and it was not good....but I mean it was $6. Sticky date was a slice of date cake, no sticky! And a slab of that cheap ice cream that usually comes wrapped in paper.
So go for the bun Cha but go elsewhere for dessert.

Great value in hawthorn. Great value for this part of town. Eat lunch for $15. Food is excellent but be warned, they don't really get gluten free, some dishes advertised GF aren't such as Pho soup. You need to grill the staff to get the real GF options.

Always great. Always great Vietnamese food, combined with really friendly and very prompt service. You never have to wait before water is brought to the table and your drink order taken & ice buckets always delivered promptly when you take a bottle of wine. Very accommodating of families. It's our regular stop, as well as when we have visitors for a night out.
Try the Vietnamese coleslaw and the salt & pepper chicken ribs. But then again don't skip the sizzling pepper beef.

The Special Spring Rolls were delicious, my main was nice but pretty standard, I wouldn't say it stood out as the I've ever had. All up though I had a good time and enjoyed my food, I would come back.

Was invited for a night out with friends to sapa hills 2 and even though we had never tried Vietnamese food before we couldn't wait to try it. The quality of food was fantastic with very reasonable pricing. The salt and pepper squid was to die for especially accompanied with a good glass of red. The only mishap was that they finish up 10 pm and we missed out on desert. Highly recommended.

I'm a fan. Please forgive the rave but this is possibly the best Vietnamese restaurant in the eastern suburbs. Fast friendly service with quality fresh meals delivered to your table. The restaurant is often full so bookings in the evening are recommended. I almost feel guilty not going back to my regular haunts in Victoria street but located in Glenferrie rd, Hawthorn this would have to be my favourite asian restaurant at present.

Great find among many restaurants in the area. Went here with about 15 people, got a combined seat on the balcony during the evening. Wonderful evening, surprisingly pleasantly quiet, good service from staff. I had the Mongolian beef which was very good, but my mate had this amazing pork dish, sizzling pork with black pepper sauce which I HIGHLY recommend! Definitely going back here again

But why did I go back again and again?
1) I know guys don't prefer salads but Vietnamese salads they sell is definitely a winner

We had dinner there last night and had excellent service from a guy who really knew his stuff.
Chef's signature dish: Beef with pepper which came out on a sizzling plate. This dish was incredible hence my title "Bursting with Flavour" - truly beautiful fresh tantalizing dish. My 8 year old loved the sauce.
The 6 year old had Vermicelli with Spring Rolls which was great for a child but the portion was massive - kind of need smaller dishes for children.
We also had black bean beef but this is a common dish as well as the authentic Viet spring rolls which were incredible. Many other dishes we tried too - yes we went overboard but well worth it!
Overall it was a wonderful dining experience for the family and the children could also draw nearby. Great fresh food, atmosphere and service. We'll be going again but this time with friends as well!
Fast dinner service and the food is tasty. New Vietnamese restaurant on Glenferrie Road, right next to the tram stop near Burnley Road.
The restaurant was only half full when we went. Which I liked - since most of the established restaurants on Glenferrie Road are noisy and crowded.
We were served quickly. (But not rushed... Our waiter was just attentive, taking away dirty plates and empty glasses quickly and silently.) The food was fresh and tasty. Not oily at oil. And everything looked clean. I'm not an afficionado of Vietnamese food. Just a fan of spring rolls and fried rice. And they both tasted good to me.
And the food is pretty cheap too. (I think we paid an average of about $16 for our evening meals.)
So if you like Vietnamese, I recommend giving this place a look. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Good food hood service on the pricey side. The sapa hills spring rolls were great and the quail for cooked perfectly annoying that don't have other sorts of fried rice for dinner. The tofu and beans were ok and the fried barramundi was generous
Great food, BYO wine. Contrary to other comments, the food here is far from overpriced. The owners have another restaurant in Footscray and the prices here are exactly the same.
The food is delicious and very fresh. Hanoi Spring Rolls are delightful and you won't find them on every menu. Stuffed full of noodles and pork they are a very tasty starter.
Crispy skin chicken, beef with chilli & lemongrass, rare beef vietnamese coleslaw and satay chicken are just another few favourites. Am yet to have a bad dish here.
Alcohol prices are very reasonable and you can take your own wine if you so desire.
Not in the same league as the good vietnamese out west, but food here is quite delicious especially the Hanoi beef! Certainly rates higher than 65% on urban spoon, but it doesn't really justify the "upmarket" premium, althoug it is better than average

If you do have an hour or more for lunch then I would recommend this place - cheap - any meal over $9 and you get a free soft drink with it. Typical Vietnamese cheap eat place WITHOUT the quick service?!! Yep - they take a bit of time to bring out the food, particularly on Fridays. Food taste I would rate as Good. I went there for dinner with my wife as well, No more cheap meals - the place was empty and the dinner meal was the reason - Dinner cost us a hefty $50 for three dishes and some rice - sheesh!
Great Canh Chua Ca. My husband and I love Vietnamese Sour Soup (Canh Chua) but are too lazy to cook at home and often lament the fact that we have to go to the Western suburbs to find even a decent rendition. Not any more! We had the Canh Chua Ca and Nems (Cha Gio, crispy spring rolls) and found them both to be delicious. Fish comes on the bone including the head, which is traditional and we love, but if you aren't keen I'm sure you could ask for a variation. Nems were crispy with yummy filling and served with lots of fresh herbs but perhaps not as good in terms of value as the Canh Chua.
Not bad. The staff are all Vietnamese which is a good sign (and some Vietnamese diners too!). We went for the traditional dishes to play it safe. The Sapa hills special spring rolls were authentic, but the size a bit meagre. The dry Hu Tieu (pork glass noodle soup) was also pretty good. Service was distracted but times but always friendly.
The pork is REALLY grilled. Most vietnamese restaurants that advertise "grilled" pork just stir fry their meats. But this place really grills their signature dish of hanoi grilled pork and boy can you taste the difference! I would definitely recommend this dish. Sure the pork is a little fatty but that's what gives the meat such succulence and flavor. The pho and rice vermecilli dishes are also fresh ad tasty. With a very modern, stylish decor unexpected at a venue at this price point it is definitely more authentic than other Vietnamese fare available in this area. Has only been open a few months and we are already weekly regulars. And "Yay" no more driving to footscray!
Sapa Hills II is delicious!! The food is extremely fresh with a vast selection available. The restuarant is very modern and very affordable that has very helpful staff. I absolutely love it and cant get enough of it. I have become a weekly customer. I would highly reccomend this restuarant to everyone. Fantastic!!

Potential - Just needs time. It has the right qualities, fresh diverse menu, friendly staff, indoor-outdoor seating, relaxed decor and easy parking. Unfortunately, both times I've been there, it's been dead quiet and empty. Every word echoes, the staff decide to vacuum with nothing else to do, awkward and uncomfortable. Perhaps in a few months, people will come for the food and inject some 'life' and ambience to the place.!
Full belly of pho. If you want value takeaway on glenferrie road - the Pho definitely has considerable overflowing value for just $9. It was certainly one of the freshest Asian dishes I have seen in a long time. Fresh chilli, mint, spring onion and more. Packaging a soup like that was done with considerable effort to seal and separate ingredients for hygiene.
I had a problem though with the raw beef cooking in the broth - the broth was cold so the meet didn't cook. Make sure you get your take away really quick!
After recently coming back from Vietnam, I have been on a quest to find Bun Cha (Rice Vermicelli with grilled pork) and I am relieved to say that I have discovered Sapa Hills II in Hawthorn - 623 Glenferrie Rd.
The menu was a little overwhelming, there are over 200 items which is a big departure from most pho places I’ve been to that have something closer to 10. Luckily we weren’t scared off and found some delicious sounding (and tasting) meals.
As per the website Sapa Hills II aren’t trying to be anything austere! Great food, atmosphere and service at affordable prices With restaurants in Footscray and Hawthorn, Sapa Hills offers a truly unique Vietnamese dining experience. Just a good place to be and enjoy food! The menu is big and so are the smiles! It is a big space but even on a quiet lunch it feels nice and comfortable. We are all hungry and a few are reminiscing trips to Vietnam as we order traditional Vietnamese Spring Rolls and Hanoi style pork! Oh dear – mouth watering already!! Sapa Hills Special Spring Rolls crispy and aromatic with fresh herbs and tangy dipping sauce HEAVEN!! Steamed Wontons delish! Perfectly done and perfectly yum!! My first foray into Hanoi Style grilled pork with vermichelli and I hope it isn’t my last! Just amazing grilled pork with light and fresh accompaniments – just great! Great service and great food. If you want a cheap and cheerful Vietnamese meal then come here. Pho and egg noodle soup is always good. Love market chicken was a new try this visit and was absolutely delicious.
Nice setting and atmosphere. Probably quite underrated for a Vietnamese restaurant. We were impressed with the variety and price points for food are very fair. We had the beef noodle soup which is as good and comparable to a lot of other niche beef noodle places. Happy to come back here to try the rest of the menu. Staff were very professional and friendly which is a statement compared to most Asian restaurants.

We decided to pick a random restaurant one night and went to Sapa Hills . Omg it was such a treat . The food was so good and we come back again for lunch 2 days later .

Sapa Hills II's Bún chả [ɓǔn ca᷉ː] is absolutely deliciously. A very refreshing dish. Such a beautiful restaurant. Premises is always very clean and service is great. Highly recommended. Do drop in and say 'hello' to Jimmy, Grace, Tam & Sierra. You won't be disappointed.

Great place for regular quick, reliable Vietnamese food. Often order the Bun, Pho, Tomato Rice, Sping Rolls, Rice Paper Rolls and Beef wrapped with vine leaves, all very good. Great for families and groups.
Our meals were fresh , clean and delicious .
