Review The Glenferrie Hotel - Hawthorn

This place has been here for years. Seems like every time I visit it's been updated. Quality pub fare, great wine selection. Great for a casual dinner or catch-up with friends.

Lovely old building with clean and comfortable rooms, up two flights of stairs. Room was spacious with high ceilings and a large ensuite. Unfortunately due to Yarra Trams work on Glenferrie Road, there was a constant low hum of ongoing construction work at all times. All staff were friendly and helpful.

Great pub . Great atmosphere. Hard working staff. Large selection of drinks and typical pub food which is all delicious! Good vibes here !

Friendly staff made us feel welcome. Standard food options you expect from an up market hotel. Very comfortable surroundings.

Great Parma. Rich tomato sauce on a real piece of chicken. Chips were just ok. Ginger beer on tap was nice too!

Wonderful menu and great beers on tap. Stylish but comfortable pub setting.

We celebrated my wife's birthday on Saturday and couldn't have been happier with the food, staff and venue. We were particularly impressed with Kasey (Racey) and Ryan aka Luke!

I am generally not the type of person to complain but when I do it is for a valid reason. The steak I ordered was without a doubt the worst steak I have ever had. It smelt and tasted like smoked fat. I am amazed how a piece of meat even though it was a medium rare can be so dry and leather-like in its texture. A $40 steak was a lot of money for what was a very substandard meal. Half the meal went to waste as it was inedible. I have eaten steaks at cheap $15 steak nights elsewhere and even they were of a much higher quality than the meal I presented with. My tip is to either get a better cut of meat or a better chef. I will not be back and certainly will not recommend your meals.

Good service and extensive menu but stay away if you have food allergies. The chef and/or kitchen staff appear to have total lack of understanding about food cross-contamination. My husband is celiac and despite ordering what was supposedly gluten free items off the menu, he is at home sick as a dog. The general manager did apologise in a sort of passive aggressive way but that's hardly the point. Would not recommend to anyone. If Hawthorn has one thing, it's places to eat. So don't eat at the Glenferrie Hotel restaurant.

Great place for a drink, didn't have a meal, but menu looked good, staff were friendly and helpful, the place had a old world charm, can't wait to go back to have a meal

This is our local.. even though we live in Box Hill. Great place to catch up with others to have a drink.. great platter and to top off.. awesome feed and cocktails... A Friday or Saturday night at the Glenferrie is awesome A+++

Great staff and good food and would recommend to others

Having eaten twice here with my friends now I feel confident in giving the Glenferrie Hotel a 5 star review. Both times the food was very nice and the staff were friendly. Service was good and the interior is nice and warm. Prices are a bit above average for the Glenferrie area but the food and atmosphere more than off set that. Mystery burgers were well recieved by our group and I was pleasantly surprised with anchovies being offered as standard in the caesar salad, which is a plus in my book.

Stayed for 1 night as I was having an op at Epworth Hawthorn following day, fantastic spacious room great service friendly staff, all around fantastic Pub

I stayed at the Glenferrie hotel this week. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful the food was fresh and well priced. The atmosphere was great and check in and check out was very easy. Only downfall would be the very limited amount of parking available. And they Ben makes great mojito!

We just love it here. The starff are so much fun,the food is yummy and it's just a great place to kick back and have a drink..love,love,love it...😂😂

Attended a dinner here with the Historical Association. Considering the large group the service and food was good. Nice venue.

Had my birthday dinner here last night. Loved it! It catered for all of us, including an awesome kids menu. Dessert was scrumptious. Will definitely come back.
