Review The Works - Hawthorn

ELIZABETH CAREY
I have always really enjoyed shopping here - an enormous treasure trove which literally has the works. Staff are always great but I had an especially good experience today. I was assisted by not one but two wonderful staff members Christina and Caroline. They helped me work through the pros and cons of the two products I was trying to decide between. Great knowledge and can do attitude. Thanks so much : )

I popped in to the works to pick up some bed spreads and just couldn't rave about the service enough! Annalise went so far beyond my expectations when she called around the other stores to find what I was after. I've always loved this store but the service it truly outstanding. Thank you!

It's spacious and has a fantastic variety of products. I'm glad to have such a store within walking distance from home. The service is average, though, whether you can get help or not purely depending on the luck. Some staff are pretty rude and unplesant and won't tell you the member's discount if you forget to mention.

Shopping for some Christmas presents recently and was amazed with the variety of options available, the prices seem to be a mix of very affordable and very expensive, but overall satisfactory. The staff were great, helped out and were very conscious of social distancing and Covid safety, a spacious, well lit environment, laid out well made the experience all the more enjoyable. Highly recommend

Very welcoming and dog friendly store. Jane was super helpful with guidance on our purchases. Not too far away from Glenferrie Railway Station

A one-stop shop for everything home and gift - inc hard-to-find kitchen tools. Knowledgeable staff. Great cafe too!

5 Stars because of Carolyn's service! The store itself is large and has great variety of products, definitely recommend, however the reason I will be returning is the great service. Carolyn was able to hold for me the products that I wanted so I don't miss out till I could pick them up the next day, and when I picked up the products, she walked me through care instructions for them, and some tips and tricks how to best use them. Then, Carolyn pointed out some some new products that I may be interested in, which is not only great up-selling skills, but it made me excited and I put them on my list to come back and buy them in the future! Something to look forward to. Really appreciate it. Thank you Carolyn!

Called in to this homewares store for lunch. The cafe is located up a set of stairs and I didn't see a lift so it's not accessible. However the service was friendly and efficient. My ham and cheese toastie w dried oregano on sourdough was pretty average to be honest. But it was very reasonably priced at about $6.50 so that was good. My 2 friends were raving about this place and the toasties when I was there so it's all about personal taste I guess. Still worth a visit when your shopping.
