My partner and I love Ya Souv. The food is always fresh and delicious and when we order via uber eats it is so quick! The chicken Ya Sena is the best!
Always love coming here for a delicious souva. The meat is juicy and the bread is amazing. It’s a cool looking place too. The prices are pretty high but the quality of the food is always worth it and they always seem super friendly, even if the service is a little sub par sometimes.
Non-greasy Souvlaki .... easy to digest, well presented Greek "traditional" food.
Away from traditional, clean non-greasy store, funky, youthful modern interior.
Easy, enjoyable well presented Souvlakis; $12.90 Ya Greek and $12.00 Ya Combo + $6.00 Chips Combo - excellent Feta & Oregano chips .... house "Greece" red wine was ordinary though. JT-14/11/2017.
Went here for dinner last night. Great food and sterling service. First class :)
Also, nice to know that it's a family owned business!
Would go back here again!
Great food and service, however, it's overpriced mainly because of quality which is understandable because most restaurants in Hawthorn are. The aesthetic and look of 'Ya Souv' is refreshing and vibrant. For a new business, I'd rate this a 9/10. There's a lot of room for improvement but so far I'm happy with their efforts.
Delicious every time!
Even the falafel souv is amazing. Which is great as felafels are usually so dry and disappointing!
The grain sAlad could do with a big less currants but that could just be my opinion, otherwise it's a delicious and consistent take away
Thanks ya souv
The souvlaki was really nice, but too small. Anyway, we got the order delivered through foodora, and it was delivered before the estimated time. I'd recommend this place, but order the large or an extra dish.
A nice restaurant to have a sit down meal in. Ordered slow cooked lamb with feta chips. The lamb was season nicely and the feta chips were delicious. As street food, the price is a bit pricey considering the portion is not particularly big if your consumption is above average. But overall very tasty. We noticed a lot take away orders by Deliveroo and Uber Eat.
Really tasty food, the portion sizes don't look huge especially for the pricy but one you start eating get really full. The meat packs a lot of flavour and the feta chips are delicious.
Service was good, however the weren't many other customers, so food came relatively quick.
Ordered from here via Uber Eats. Had the Ya Greek souv with Lamb. Was very delicious and very filling. Lots of meat in it. Would definitely recommend this place.
Lamb, feta chips and saganaki were a hit. The share plate for two was both filling and delicious. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful!
Have visited Ya Souv on several occasions. Souvs are all tasty and hearty. Some of them have chips in them (not too many) that I thought was a bit odd but they don't hurt the taste. Speaking of chips, try the Feta Oregano chips. The full menu isn't actually here. They have desserts and other items. Oddly though they don't serve Greek coffee (correct me if I'm wrong - have asked twice) but do serve ouzo shots. One drink worth a try is the Freddo. I had no idea what it was - thought it might be a chocolate Freddo bobbing up and down in a Latte. No it's more like an iced coffee and very nice too. Served in a tall glass. Clean modern decor. Service is fine. They have a bar. Music is contemporary grooves - not too loud. No water brought to table but is available to help yourself. One of the few places along Glenferrie where you can grab a coffee after dark. Working my way through their menu.
YASSS went in when they were offering free chips and drink with an order of any souvlaki. Portion was generous and delicious 😋 Nice atmosphere to hang out as well
Best souvlaki I have ever had, my housemates and I have been here multiple times and the La Mena is perfect, better than Jimmy Grants. Homemade baklava was amazing also!
Dined in for lunch. Enjoyed our souvas, chips and grain salad. Service was friendly and meals came out quick. Would go back for sure! Nice to have a casual Greek eatery on Glenferrie Rd.
Went in with a work colleague for lunch.Staff were friendly and helpful and the food came out very quickly.
The first half of the souva was amazing, unfortunately it was very very greasy towards the end which ruined the flavour quite a bit and I ended up not finishing the souva but the chips were amazing and crispy.
Price was relatively expensive at $18 for a combo but compared to other similar restaurants would definitely come back.
A lovely cozy spot on Swan St to get fully satiated with Greek food.
We popped in and ordered the trio of dips which were very tasty, accompanied with soft and light pita bread. Moved on to the eggplant which was absolutely delicious. The textures and flavours were amazing.
Then we had the whitebait and which was perfectly fried, accompanied with a very tasty lemon aioli. The octopus was great too.
We completed the meal with a Galaktoboureko which was light and sweet. A perfect ending to a wonderful lunch.
The staff were extremely friendly and hospitable. Felt like we’d known each other for ages. Will most definitely return.
Came here for a private event upstairs - absolutely stunning venue for functions or a meal. The food was beautiful - I don’t have a photo of the lamb but that was my absolute favourite, as was the desserts, cocktail and the smoky eggplant dip 🤤 very attentive staff as well
Decided to try this place as we were going to an event around the corner, and what a great choice we made! Each dish we ordered was beautifully presented and full of flavour. Definitely recommend saving room for the desserts. Shoutout to the great service we received as well, made for a great overall experience
If I could give more than 5 starts I absolutely would. Fantastic food. Excellent quality, taste and such a big portions. We ordered the banquet (the bigger one) and we have enough left over to bring back home. The entrees were amazing.
Had some really tasty takeaway from here. The serves are a bit small for the price but the flavour of each and every dish was awesome - even once reheated at home. The octopus and calamari are both must tries. Also loved the cheesy eggplant rolls and the grain salad.
Can't rave enough about this place. Booked for a work event last night for 18 people and the service and food were exceptional. Absolutely no-one left hungry. The staff were great and a special mention to Abbey - there was nothing too difficult - thank you!!! Great for a group, will return and would not hesitate to recommend. P.s. get the octopus.
The food is so delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly and had so much flavour. We wanted to take photos but accidentally ate it all before we got the chance!
The staff are so attentive and friendly and seemed just as excited about our order as we did. The owner, Philip, popped by our table for a chat and he was such a lovely guy. You can see how well he treats his staff and that they actually enjoy working for him. That made the experience even better. We can’t wait to go back to Bahari again and will definitely be recommending to our friends.
Great place for authentic greek indulgence. Friendly and attentive staff. Their saganaki, wild mashrooms, lamb shoulders, eggplant,.... are so good. I have been going there for years and i think they deserve all the glory they get. Very well priced too which is even a bonus. I wish they wouldnt close their kitchen so early at nights. I think at 9 it s all game over there. Highly recommend
