Review Double 00 Pizza - Hawthorn

Simple and delicious! I work close to this pizzeria and end up taking a take out every week. Pizzas are delicious! Pastas are well seasoned. Meats on pizzas and pastas are perfectly cooked. Not heavy on the pocket either. Staff is very friendly and I always end up having a little chat with them. Would definitely recommend!

Pizza was really good and staff were super friendly. Had the meat lovers and it was very good, the garlic focaccia though was a bit dry and unusual.

Double Zero has been my go to pizzeria for several years. Great pizza with nice artisan dough and crust, and always fast and pleasant service. Highly recommended.

Best takeout pizza in Hawthorn by far. Amazing price - consistent amazing quality, and never a wait time more than 15 minutes. Double Zero are bang on each time with their crust, and their toppings. Forget the fancy and costlier pizza restaurants down the road that do “sloppy” pizza for twice the price - our guys here are the real and genuine deal. Amazing pizza, great price (small is generous), they just do it sweet and simple. Keep up the great work!

Amazing pizza, the best i have ever eaten. Super fresh ingredients. Incredible flavour and crust. Super friendly staff. Very quick wait time. I think you should try it for yourself. So glad this is my local pizza restaurant. I am in heaven eating my pizza.

The pizza from this place was amazing when it first opened. But, recently ordered takeaway and I had THE worst experience. Ordered via online a tradition sausage (Salsiccia Rossa) and an original pizza. The website said a 35-minute wait, which was fine as the pizza shop is only about 8 minutes drive from my home. After two calls to the shop, I finally got the food delivered after one and a half hours. The food was cold and had to be re-heated. The pizza's themselves were well below average, the bases were thick and doughy, and the topping not even cooked through. What a disappointment, never again.

The sauce and toppings are really top quality but it is not my pizza base of choice. It's quick service and a good old family operation.

Double Zero is a small shop in the Burwood Road West Hawthorn shop strip that offers friendly takeaway and delivery service. What makes this pizza place a cut above most is the quality bases topped with delectable ingredients. Even the standard margarita is special.

Best pizza I have had since moving to Melbourne 4 years ago. We were definitely looked after tonight and we will definitely be going back. Staff are very welcoming.

The quality of the pizza seems to have drastically declined since this place changed hands. Our last 2 orders, the most recent of which being tonight, were a huge let down compared to our previous experience months ago. The first time we thought it was a slip up, but it seems something has changed. Freezing cold prosciutto and bocconcini put on a hot pizza base causing a soggy, sweaty mess.

Why there is chicken in a meat lover. This is not what i expect!! Not worth for the price we paid for the pizza. If i wasn’t wrong, it used to be better than this. Disappointed ;(

Paid a premium price for pizzas but what we received was just a lot of cheese on a pastry base. We ended up making a rocket / avo salad just to give it flavor. Worst pizza that I have had.<br/>

Really enjoyed my pizza here at double zero Pizzeria! The shop is little, neat and super clean. Friendly service and fast! Will be back to try other items on the menu 👍

There are two pizza shops in our small town, Mother Dough and Double Zero, but when it comes to lunch the prior isn't always open, while Zero is. Almost takeaway only, (and why wouldn't you get takeaway when there's a lovely park a couple stops away on the tram? ) there's always a line during lunch, it goes pretty quick though.

Very friendly staff who always provide a positive experience. Very little wait time for a pizza. The arancini balls and doughnuts are to die for... so delicious !

Great pizza, as usual. San Marzano tomatoes on the base, quality ham (not the cheap stuff). Overall a non greasy pizza. Family was very happy with their meal. Leftovers for breakfast today!🤔🤗

Bad pizza, one that says that this is an Italian pizzeria (Neapolitan) means that he has never really eaten an Italian pizza. Italian pizzas have Italian and not Aussie tastes. These offend Italian pizzerias by affirming themselves Italians when they are not really.

Exceptional service, even better food! The pizza is some of the best, quality ingredients and the dessert is so yummy and indulgent! The boys always greet us with big smiles! Highly recommend !

Lovely pizzas! But takeaway or delivery only. Tried the homemade sausage pizzas in white and red sauce and both were good. Highly recommended

Very nice pizza. Good quality ingredients, plenty of them and exceptionally priced. Flavours were fantastic, base was a bit soft and a tad hard to eat but that may have been due to the 10 minute drive home. Great place will be back.

Got here on a lovely warm night and took one of the tables outside... Absolutely amazing pizza! Definitely one of the best I've had in Melbourne. Staff is super friendly and place is clean and stylish 😊

Partner and i went for dinner. No inside seating but few tables outside. Very friendly staff. Place looked wonderfuly clean. 15 minute wait and it was amazing. Fantastic pizza. Garlic bread was also amazing. Go get some pizza!

I found this place in the Ent book so decided to check it out. Drove quite a long way too. Definitely worth the trip. The guys were extremely friendly and welcoming. The pizza was great with just the right amount of very FRESH toppings. This is not your avg take away pizza place and their prices are very reasonable. I'd happily go back  despite the long drive. They also recommended the pub down the road where you could bring your own food and just order a couple of drinks. Winning combination!

fantastic pizza! lunch special with pizza by the slice is delicious and a great value. I wish I had never tried the zepole and tiramisu! both are amazing and very hard to resist

I don't eat takeaway very often, but last night we ordered from Double "00" Zero in Hawthorn, Melbourne, & even delivered these pizzas were exactly the same as if eaten as soon as they came out go the oven, piping hot, crisp & most of incredible. In addition to this the service we received from Jason was fantastic, as it was quite a large order, I of course also couldn't possibly end this review without mentioning how incredible there donuts are. Amazing service, speed & perfect in every way for what we needed, I couldn't recommend them highly enough.

From my experiences, Double Zero Hawthorn is a great take away pizzeria. I have been there on many occasions and I always order the prosciutto pizza which gives a generous amount of toppings without overloading the pizza. The bases are a medium thickness and don't get soggy which is what I love about their pizzas. When I go order pizza it's usually a 10-15 minute wait. The only problem I have ever encountered is that they are closed on a Sunday.

Best pizza I have had in the 5 years I have lived in Australia, and definitely the best since I've visited Italy! A seriously pleasant surprise and the real deal.

I ordered 2 pizza on the 7th of October 2016 at 6:45 pm thought their web site, requesting the delivery asap. <br/>At 8:08 pm , My wife rang them to check the status of the delivery. They obvisusly forgot the order and they said the delivery guy was on his way and they hang up. At 8:38, we phone again asked to cancel the order and get the refund. A lady on the phone was very rude and she said that she was to busy to process a refund and we should call the day after the get our money back and she hang up again. I personally called her back straight away to ask apologies for the really bad customer service provided. She said "Listen" and blah blah blah.. and she hang up again. After 3th hang up , I drove to the place and I asked in person a refund. The owner gave me that and it was 9:05 pm. At 9:30 a delivery guy rang the bell for delivery , I told him that I cancelled the order and I send the pizza back. It was almost 3 hours later our original order.<br/>I am not judging the products.... but the service is really poor and the staff really rude. You DO NOT hang up and saying "Listen" to a customer , I DO NOT think that it is appropriate. <br/>Good luck if you want to deal with them!

Not only was it a good pizza, delivery was above and beyond! Going out of their way to fulfil an order that was put in just before close, was hot and tasted great.

My girlfriend and I have been here for many times.Delicious pizzas and chips.My girlfriend is a fan of the beer chips which it supples.We will come here again.

I love the French Freies which are cooked with beer!I guess I will try them again.<br/>I also like the Meatlover pizza!The taste was great,and it was a perfect choice for people who adore eating all kinds of meat.

Delicious, crispy bases with fantastic toppings. Will absolutely be back. It was a miserable rainy day and all I wanted was delicious pizza, having just moved to the area, this place is a great find!!

Best margherita pizza ever! Delivery was quick and driver was friendly. Pizza was crusty and moist and cheesy in the middle. Super yummy, will order again!

I had a delivery from these guys yesterday, and I have to say that my chicken and mushroom pastor was exceptional, and the lasagne was also extremely good. The cheesy her bread wasn't my favourite however, a little bit too salty for my liking. Definitely worth ordering from again and I hope to pop in sometime soon in order to have a sit down meal and to try some more of the tempting tasty options.

Possibly one of the worst pizzas I've ever eaten. Between 4 of us we didn't even eat 4 slices of 2 pizzas we bought. Base was AWFUL. Stodgy and heavy and tasteless

Whaoooo we randomly popped in tonight and I've gotta say this is one of the best pizzas I've had in a long time. I wish I could call this my local, but just gonna have to make the trip from Carnegie to eat here more often. Absolutely loved the mushroom and Italian sausage pizza we had, the base was exceptional, made by a bunch of great guys who obviously actually love what they're doing. So good! Five stars.

I just ate the lasagna, it was very oily, even after draining the oil, there was big pools of oil throughout. I've had the pizza before which was nice, I wouldn't recommend the lasagna!

Always fantastic Authentic Italian pizza from Double Zero, so great to have a pizza place back on our Burwood Rd Strip.  Favourites so far are the Mexicana and the Vegetarian is awesome.  If you live nearby it's a real change from the standard pizza fare of the big chains, so do yourself a favour :)

As first time customers to "Double 00", we were looking forward an authentic, delicious Italian pizza experience. How we were wrong!! We had to wait close to 2 hours for our delivery, and our driver had no idea about customer service. He simply handed over the pizza, grunted, and walked off! The original pizza was below average, over-sized soggy base and no cheese whatsoever. The Mexican pizza was marginally better, it had tasty toppings including jalapeño , capsicum and salami, but again, a lack of cheese on a soggy base which is way too thick. All in all our review score is definately a 00. <br/>

Amazing pizzas and fantastic customer service. We ordered 25 pizzas for a work function and they were ready on time and all went down very well. Have also used the home delivery and pizzas arrived quickly. Cheers, Matt.

Great authentic Italian pizzas at a great price. Went the extra mile with service. Had the Nutella calzone...best I've ever tasted! Best for take away as only a small eat in area. Definitely our preferred take away pizza place in Hawthorn.

Beautiful light thin crust pizza. I tried the Tre Formaggi E Fungi last night which was beautiful although I couldn't detect much of the caramelised onions unfortunately. The menu is extensive with old classics and some interesting sounding gourmet toppings. Even better, it still tasted great heated up for breakfast the next day.

So thrilled to see a very decent take out pizza joint has opening in hawthorn! My husband and I have tried various pizzas, lasagne, tiramisu and salads..consistantly impressed! And awesome selection of Ben & Jerry's along with friendly service :)

Awesome pizza! Delicious, higher quality toppings without being over-priced. Real capsicums, real ham slices, and delicious sausage. The crust is crunchy but chewy with a genuinely nice flavour. Great take away pizza. Delivery was fast too. We will be ordering often! Welcome to the area!

Delicious!! Have been here a few times now, for both lunch & dinner! Lunch time pizzas are pre-made (on site!!) and you order by the slice from the choices available - around 10 different varieties! Great opportunity to try something different and so far so good! Dinner time you order off the menu. Ingredients are fresh & very tasty and the base is authentic. Prices are also reasonable. Yum!

New takeaway pizza place - be mindful these aren't made on the spot though. It's pre made (presumably on the day), then chucked in an oven (which doesn't look like a wood fired one). <br/><br/>Not bad for what it is though - $9.80 for 2 square slices with a really thin base (not too crispy).
