Review Shuji Sushi - Hawthorn

Very accessible if you happen to have that sudden Japanese food craving in Hawthorn. The place is small so it's perfect for eating alone or with a handful of friends.

Good customer service and good food, especially the curry katsu don

Picked up a sushi box on the way home from my physiotherapy session in Hawthorn at around 5:40pm. All sushi products were 1/2 price!<br/>Really well made sushi and fresh. Much better value then Sushi Sushi.

Convenient location right next to Glenferrie station. Sushi is fresh, but average at best. Bento boxes are cheap. Plenty of upstairs seating.

Hawthorn Shuji Sushi doesn't get a lot of love but I'm a regular and have been happy with the meals. Sushi Sushi in Glenferrie Rd seems more popular but Shuji near the station has hot food bento boxes and a more diverse menu. It was getting a bit shabby upstairs but they have fixed up the seats to make it more presentable.<br/>I usually get the one of the Bento Box options. I think there are about 7 and they are quite hearty with a combination of hot and cold portions including salad and sometimes fruit. I've added some photos so you can see the portion size. Upstairs is spacious. Downstairs is intimate. If they play music, I can't remember it.

Love it! Best Bento ever. Love this place, takeaway bento boxes are so yum, really good value and great hot food.<br/>Terryaki salmon sushi rolls also amazing. Staff friendly too.

Bought 2 raw salmon and 1 smoke salmon hand roll. The first raw salmon was ok however the other raw salmon roll was unfresh.<br/><br/>Smoke salmon roll was not make properly, the seaweed didn't stick, all ingredients fell out.

Not bad for a filling meal. Isn't a bad place for a jap-craving meal; hot meals very filling.<br/>Always had its Nabeyaki udon and oyako don.<br/>Nice sushis: california roll, crispy chicken roll, raw salmon roll<br/>Why not give them a try? :D

Although the hand rolls I bought were filled well, the rice was only half cooked leaving the rolls dry and with too much bite.
