Always a nice drive out there, be prepared to wait though. Good quality of food.
So accommodating and made a vegan sourdough sandwich and it was amazing!
I love Beechworth Bakery. The food is always fresh and delicious. We ordered a chicken wrap, french vanilla slice and a country chicken pie. Everything was yum!
Other times we have visited, we have tried the Bee Sting, the brocolli and cauliflower pie, and the Ned Kelly pie.
Overall, food and drink is always great but finding a table can be tricky because it is always busy and staff sometimes do not have time to clean and clear up the table.

We ordered the gourmet pies- lamb with rosemary and the other smoky pork pie, which are yummy! The vanilla slide is delicious not too sweet! Nice coffee!
If you want something quick, filling and cheap in this tourist spot. Look no further, go to Beechworth Bakery and tries their gourmet pies, the pork one and lamb one are so good. My kids liked the simple beef pie, but my hubby and me prefer the gourmet ones. There will be queues during weekend, but the service are quick and friendly. Had a great weekend there. My hubby says he is happy to drive there for an hour, just to eat the pies.
Phenomenal! My favourite place in Healesville to eat. I'm obsessed with their caulioccoli pie and lemon meringue pie. The best pies out there. Best coffee! Just great for a chain-bakery!

As bakeries go this one is on steroids as are the others around Victoria. It’s the place to bring groups as here at good toilets (outside at the rear) and is disabled friendly plus plenty of parking.
However it lacks ambience and that something special that most Healesville places have. It’s big. It deals with with volume. But there is no character or charm. The fake fires kinda sum it up for me. Seating inside and out.
High chairs available. Good spot to bring kids as it’s quite spacious.
Don’t get me wrong, food is consistently good band the staff are lovely but take it for what it is.
Traveling down to Healesville an hours drive to get there pie (Ned kelly). This pie is one of the most juicy most delicious pie I ever tasted and would definitely be back to grab it anytime I’m close.
Superb international standard service, these people have really worked hard at creating an authentically local, superior customer service culture. Beechworth is incredibly inclusive, refreshingly Australian (no tipping and well paid and outstanding local staff, and local owner). Beechworth combines the true Australian knack of adapting the best of change and international standards to the practical, down to earth good sense of the best of rural Australia. I should know, I am badly affected by a disability. Beechworth has bent over backwards to meet my needs. It
would be a great shame if this brave and forward looking restaurant and its intelligent and hard-working staff were not abundantly rewarded.
A humble pie starts from the heart! I love Beechworth bakery because they have it all right. The bakery covers all the classic favourites which are made the classic way. Care in the preparation of pastry and fillings. You just cant go wrong. I have tried many things from the menu and I'm always pleased
“Australia’s greatest bakery” -Beechworth Bakery. Everything about this place encapsulates the Australian way of life and the story behind it is refreshing and heart warming. It’s a well organised and structured store with everything from sandwiches to pies to a great selection of Australian sweets. The Ned Kelly Pie amongst the other great selection is really well cooked with the pastry being the standout. The Lamington was flawless and can taste the quality from the first bite. Ample seating and the service is fast and well organised.
Loved loved loved this bakery!! The stuff were so friendly and the prices and portions of the food were great. I got the ned kelly pie which was still hot when I started eating it. That was really nice. I later felt like something sweet and got the Bavarian iced ring which was a donut basically with custard and cream!! Yum!! The iced ring was huge may I add and was like only $4 something!
I visited here on the weekend and I love it. It kind of feels like a time warp when you walk in, like a big country bakery from the 70’s. But I am totally ok with that. If they keep serving up delicious pies with a buttery pastry and giant bee stings I am happy! I also tried the hedgehog and didn’t have high hopes but it was delicious! An icon, definitely a must visit.
Place was busy, long queues to order but moved fairly quickly. We had various pies and a toasted sandwich. Pies were nice, very filling.
Coffee was okay as well.
Trekked out to Healesville Sanctuary with a friend visiting from overseas and after a day traipsing after wildlife figured I deserved some baked goods, and what better than the best you can get, the renowned Beechworth Bakery. Unfortunately my phone had died so no snaps but I do applaud myself on being able to actually locate it without google maps (also nowhere in Healesville seems to sell car chargers just so you know).
I had a steak pie to line the stomach with savoury with is pretty sizeable for such a humble price and thoroughly delicious. Followed up by an Aussie eccle and then a goldrush slice for the road. Delectable. Well deserved of it's cult status
Saw the line from across the road at the innocent bystander so decided to walk across and give it a try. We got the famous beesting and a pie. Even though we were pretty full, both of these were delicious and we got a large one to take home to share.
Ever since discovering this place, I have been three times and have never been disappointed. It is always busy with locals and tourists!
Their danishes are delicious, Eclairs are always full to the brim and their sausage rolls are juicy and pastry perfect. Beesting, bavarian apple, snickerdoodle are my top 3, including maybe carrot cake and vanilla slice. If you like apple pie, theirs is a little average, but they do have another apple variety that's covered in pastry and dusted with sugar and that was unlike anything I've ever tasted before - the name's escaped me. Pies are quite delicious and the pastry was flakey and cooked through.
Lovely cafe and staffs with a spacious seating area. Ordered their Ned Kelly pie, Beechworth steak cottage pie, mushroom and steak pie, omelette toastie, ham & cheese croissants and hot chocolate. The Beechworth steak pie a bit salty to my liking and the hot chocolate was a bit too sweet. The Ned Kelly pie probably was the highlight for today's coffee time.
Sunday drive into the Black Spur are my favorite what better way for a little snack then Beechworth Bakery. Coffee are great here, chai latte are great here not too sweet and you can actually tasted the tea. Beesting is what they a famous for, pastry with cream and jam in it, I suggest you share it, as it is big and can get super sweet and sickening. Popcorn donut yum yum is all I can say. And the pies here omg i just want to go back for more. Service here are great, staffs are very friendly and great at suggesting things. Lovely cute little bakery very spacey so it is pram/children/baby friendly, great for mother's group.
Destination bakery that's worth dropping into, there's a huge selection of savoury and sweet with all the classic bakery goodies. Free sauce with pies is nice touch. As a bit of a pie lover I was disappointed to find that the steak pie is actually just mince, not the real chunky steak type that you can sometimes find. Also a vanilla slice lover, this one had crispy pasty and perfect custard but the pink icing was a bit too sweet.
Went their today made the drive from Melbourne over an hour to eat from this place. Their was a line out the door everyone else had the same idea as my Sister and I. To make the hour or sos drive to Healesville. Lucky they have a big Car Park. Once we found a Car Park we finally made it to the back of the queue and eventually got served at the Registers. Staff are very friendly and the young guy who served us was very pleasant and even Smiled at us. Even though he was definitely under the pump. I asked for the Caulioccoli Pie but they had run out so I decided on the Plain Steak Pie and my sister and I shared a Sausage Roll both of which were very nice. They even give you Free Tomato Sauce. We also got some Beestings and Vanilla Slices as well as a Custard Tart and a Dame Edna (Pink Lamington) to takeaway. All of which were very Yummy. Even though they were busy the line moved very quickly and they have plenty of tables and chairs and couches and tables to sit at. You can even sit on the front deck or the back deck. Will definitely go back to any of The Beechworth Bakeries. Hopefully next time I can try the Caulioccoli Pie. Oh Yes before I publish my review as others have said its definitely best to get their early so you avoid missing out on any of your favourites or things you want to try as I found out today. The Meat Pie is one of the best I have ever tasted. Try it out you wont be disappointed. Only thing I wish I lived a lot closer to either Healesville or any of the Other Beechworth Bakeries because I would definitely go there a couple of times a week to get both a Pie Fix and also My Sweet Tooth Fix. Hope to see you again soon any of the Beechworth Bakeries. And please definitely Keep Up The Great Work.

Summer is here! Sasha, Summer, Liz and I did a road trip up to Bright today. We made a stopover at Beechworth on the way back to Melbourne and where did we go for lunch? The Beechworth Bakery. The bakery was packed when we got there at 1.30pm. Fear not, there was seating upstairs as well. Service was a little slow despite a few lines going at the same time. There were heaps of sweet goodies to choose, as well as your usual pies and lunch fare. Good-o.
Sasha and Summer went upstairs to snag a table whilst Liz and I ordered:
Ned Kelly Pie - This was their signature steak pie with bacon, cheese and a whole egg. It was yum. Liz regretted she suggested sharing with me to make more room for dessert. XP
Beechworth Steak Pie - regular pie with quality minced steak.
Apple Square - for apple lovers. Flaky and fluffy puff pastry squares filled with spiced stewed apple and dusted with sugar. Nice.
Snickerdoodle - I always thought a snickerdoodle was a sugar cookie, but this was their rendition - baked custard in shortbread pastry, topped off with berries.
Vanilla Slice - needs no explanation. It wasn't overly sweet and Sasha really liked this.
Prices were pretty reasonable and there was a huge range of goodies to choose from. A nice stopping spot after a long day of driving.
Say it with me...BEESTINGS ARE THE BEST!! I kid you not after having a Beesting here & scoured Melbourne to see if I could find one equally as good or better, there is NO competition, the Beechworth Bakery Beestings reign supreme!!
Based on their "Bee Stings" we are FORCED to give 5.0. THEY are FABULOUSLY GOOD. (Not too sweet, either).
THE coffee was average, the actual venue is just OK. Service is just OK.
Ps a "Bee Sting" is a traditional German dessert, like a doughnut with vanilla custard.
So after lunch at a restaurant right across the bakery, we could see a huge line of people bustling in so we had to go see what the fuss was about. I read about the famous "beesting" selling out quickly and was lining up salivating by just looking at it. We ordered the Ned Kelly pie and beesting and they are both absolutely bomb. Will drive and hour to get this. Worth!
Love the bread and pie. Best I have ever had. The coffee is so rich and love it. I even bought a loft of bread home. Good work. Wish it's not that far from me otherwise I'd def come back.
Three words
French Vanilla Slice
I mean, look at the photo. Place is good stop off before you head to yarra valley surrounding areas. Close to Healsville sanctuary so you can grab a couple of their pies (dont forget the vanilla slice) and take them with you for an awesome picnic
Consistency ..... you know what you are going to get.
That's what I like about this place.
One of the nicest pit-stop driving up to Marysville or the surrounding area.
Going back to basic, good, consistent and always satisfying, not too much hit on the wallet too.
Been here a while ago . They do have a variety of colorful cute cookies& hot food. The children will be really happy to be here . We had beverage & bread here it was good and in a reasonable price.
This bakery is fab, located in such a beautiful part of Australia too. They were sold out of most pies at 3:45pm which was annoying but they were delicious nevertheless. They even had a buy one beesting get one for 10c deal and oh my lord they were delicious. They need to have more staff on though. We sat at a table with piled up dishes and we noticed the receipt sitting on the table was from 12pm! But a small price to pay for the delicious baked goods
We stopped for lunch during a wine tour at the Beechworth Bakery in Healesville. It was a hub of activity and constantly had a line. I know it is a chain, but it seemed like a decent place to find some cheap, unpretentious food. We had a bandit baguette that had meatballs in tomato sauce, caramelized onions, rocket, and topped with parmesan. It was toasted as well, so it was a warm, Italian style sandwich. My only complaint is that the meatballs were a little dense, similar to Ikea meatballs. We also had a death by chocolate dessert since the dessert selection is hard to miss. The meal was ready quickly and the service was good.

Coffee, cake, toasted sandwich or morning tea in the sun, Beechworth Bakery is a one stop bakery shop of goodness. Great cakes, cookies, pastries and coffees and plenty of room to sit with the kids and take your time. Country goodness.
Ordered the beestinger, Beechworth steak pie, Ned Kelly pie.
Ned Kelly was basically a steak pie topped with an egg, bacon and cheese. Definitely different to all the other bakeries I've tried and most certainly delicious.
Beestinger was also good, but others in my group that also got it felt it had too much custard. However we felt that the one we got had the right amount, so this could be up to preference.

Stopped at this bakery for lunch I had a foccacia my partner had a wrap it was really nice doghnuts as well would definitely stop again. Ang
Dessert was nice, coffee was just okay. Loved the Chocolate Eclair and Bavarian Cream. Good place to stop before heading home from roadtrip to Marysville
We had everything it was amazing
Had a toastie and a pie, very nice food
Pie was awesome and very tasty and great service, also has very helpful staff! Had a lovely lady help after hours look for my wallet that I thought I had lost. Will definitely re-visit!
Busy but nice. Been a few times and only ever ordered pies which are lovely. You get a decent size pie for the $$. Coffee was 9/10. Very friendly service. The sweets are very overpriced though. I paid $3.90 for my cupcake loving son who left half of it on his plate. It was dry and tasteless.
Food and coffee pretty good. Perfect place to stop off after a few hours drive.
After slaying some pesky Orcs I decided to stop by this eatery. I had a pie, sausage roll, french vanilla slice and latte. The latte was bit watery but the pastries were amazing. You could tell that the food was freshly made on the day.
Would eat here again but only get a coffee if i was desperate.
Stopped for afternoon tea. Found the sweets more pretty than tasty, but still nice. Good pies.
Got a pie and a lamington the young girl who served us seemed so happy and on such a hot day seeing that smile made my day... Enjoyed
Always a must stop. It's a commercial bakery so don't go expecting too much. A lot of the things are mass produced - yes - and this does take away from the overall quality of the food. It may be slightly overpriced but you pay for more of the novelty of the beechworth bakery (only located around the regional Victoria). The Broccolli and Cauliflower pie is fantastic - as is the vanilla slice! Sure, you can find cheaper places elsewhere but it's a good 'pit stop' place ;)
Tasty Pie and Chips. I have been there once with Stephanie and I like the beef burgundy pie and chips as they were cooked to perfection and the custard tart was yummy as well also I found that the staff are very kind to me.
