Review Kang's Woks Asian Restaurant - Healesville

Australian style Chinese restaurant. The soups were good, just what we needed on a cold autumn night. The coconut butter fish main was a bit confusing, it was sort of sweet - but not really (guess that’s because of the desiccated coconut). The singapore noodles were kind of sweet as well. There’s not too many choices for dinner in this town - and this place was definitely better than others on offer (Atleast it was open for dinner a later than others).

Had a wonderful lunch with my gf and my mum. First time eating here as we don’t live close and we’re visiting my mum. We’ll definitely be eating here again, we couldn’t fault any of the food it was all delicious. So delicious after we ate I ordered meals for the next day as takeaway as where we live we don’t have an Asian restaurant so we enjoyed asian food the next day and was so yum 😋 I love homemade dimsims and recommend you try them. Lemon chicken, garlic king prawns were beautiful. Can’t wait till next time.

Good old fashioned Asian food like I remember from the old days. We had honey chicken, sweet & sour pork, special fried rice, and spring rolls. Honestly, they were all delicious! It was a pleasant surprise to have all aspects of a meal pleasing. Will definitely be going back.

I've gotta say that this is the best Australian style Chinese restaurant I've ever been to in my life. I wish they had a secret traditional Chinese menu available for people who like the read deal, but I completely understand that the local demographic is predominantly white Aussies and therefore they sell white Aussie Chinese food where 🌶 🌶 🌶 🌶 means luke warm, and the best selling dishes are beef in black bean sauce and lemon chicken (dishes you'll struggle to find anywhere in China).

With helpful staff, & an excellent kitchen, the meals are a delight. Here we may enjoy the subtleties of Asian cooking. Check out the regular lunch options, & particularly the seasonal specials.

The ubiquitous Aussie Chinese Takeaway. Always reliable. Always good. And always under spicy/chilli for me. But thats a good thing. If you like your chinese spicy or chilli go one chilli level up on their spicy index. Couple of friends and family in my circle like Kang’s single chilli suggestion. Personally i like chilli at the level to get my nose running. If you’re after that you need to make a special request. Otherwise, the serving sizes are more than enough and represent value. If you’re getting chicken, beef or squid and expect vegetables in the mix you might want to order a side of vegetables to go with it. Kang’s is your reliable country Aussie chinese restaurant. Only thing missing is a couple of Crownies.

The food is great, the atmosphere, well, there is no atmosphere. Here's a tip, it's a Chinese restaurant, turn the t.v. off and pipe some light Chinese background music, and maybe do something about the lighting.

Delicious Chinese food, the staff were very friendly and the prices were fairly reasonable, highly recommended.

It had very very very bad squid that could not be cut even with a knife I found a hair on my plate and I was given chilli even after being specifically told that it could cause complications with my health they even threatened to call the police after I complained and arcs for discount even calling me a liar about the hair in my food !!! Even after a admitting that there was a hair and it was all caught on film do not waste your time or money do not go to this restaurant !!!!!

Lovely, kind people at Kangs Woks, yummy food and fast service. We highly recommend them!

We stop always here when we are in the area. The peking duck is the best Spring rolls were lovely and the roti bread with satay sauce lovely. Hoping to be back there in October :)

Wonderful food. I’m a local and haven’t had there food in quite some time. Had a lovely lunch with my dad recently there. Very tasty and great lunch value deals. Thank you Look forward to trying more of your menu!

Dine and take away quite often. Have got a few family members hooked on it too. Best Chinese food ever.

Found Kang's Woks by chance as everywhere else was closed, so glad we did! Food was great, tasty and fresh, veggies not overcooked like so many Chinese places tend to do. Service was fine but a tiny bit slow, though understandable given there was only 1 waiter, though the food came out pretty quickly. I would give a 4.5 if possible.

I went there on Saturday 26th March 2017 for Dinner with Ashley and I had the Crispy Salt and Pepper Calamari with Steamed Rice and Ashley had the Cantonese Steak with Steamed Rice as well but her Steak was a bit tuff. Also it was nice of them to only charge me $12 since mine, was way too spicy for me so I couldn't eat it.

Sitting in my hotel room with my girlfriend, we both looked each other in the eyes and said “what should we do for dinner?” Little did we know that this utterance of hunger would lead us to Kang’s Woks. Who is Kang? What are these “woks” he speaks of? For all we know Kang could very well be a woman, but that is a mystery. What wasn’t a mystery was the delicacies we were able to indulge in at this establishment. The Garlic Vegetables were cooked to a standard that no other place has been able to reach in my views. The vegetarian fried rice was both unique and beautiful, much like the person I shared this meal with. After the meal we could not help but sigh a sigh of relief as not only had the meal made our dinner, it had made our weekend. Thank you Kang, you are one of the finest and we will be coming back for more.

My partner and I are regulars here, the food is always freshly cooked to a very good standard and is flavorsome, the service is quick and the staff friendly and attentive, prices are reasonable we usually spend $60-$75 with, soup, entree, and main meal, we skip desserts. but do have a beer.

AVOID Kang's Wok restaurant.  We had the $38 special on Thursday evening and they bought us drinks we did not order or drink and then we paid on credit card which they did not give a receipt.  Later we checked our card was charged $87 instead of the correct $38.  We contacted management next day and she dismissed it as the waiters fault. She denied any fault or scam credit double charge ( which we had direct evidence on our account) and rudely refused any refund.  Any honest business owner would see the mistake, admit it and refund the difference.   Basically we were scammed double the price of the actual bill.   What can you do over such a small amount.  Actually Lots - write a review and alert others to blatant malpractice and fraud.    What a rip off.

!!!!!!!!Scammed my partner's credit card for 87 dollars , be aware of them, on 14/4/2018 we walked on the street, and we saw their red special on their front door, and they wrote down special for 2 people ( $40 ), and we asked their waiter about the red post and the guy from Malaysia guy indicated us to another deal which is same deal, but the one on the red post is take away, and have here is $38 for 2, in the end they didn't give us receipt, and we checked our credit card, they charged us 87 dollars, double the correct $38 than what we had, we ask for refund, they didn't want to take responsibility, and just roughly said its their waiter's fault, really disappointed!!! <br/><br/>小心詐騙！！！在進入這家廳廳前必須三思！！！<br/><br/>我跟我的男朋友在2018年4月12日走在路上看到他們的特別餐貼在他們的門外（紅色的）並且寫下 special for 2 ( 40 ), 於是我們就決定在Kang's wok restaurant 用餐，然後我們就問來自馬來西亞的服務生關於那個特別餐，他說這個特別餐內用是$38, 不是$40, 於是我們就很開心的點了這份餐點，但是最後他們沒有給我們收據，在我們回家後，我們檢查了我們的信用卡，我們嚇一跳，我們以為是收銀員的失誤，因為他們總共從我們信用卡拿了87澳幣，於是我們打電話問他們的經理，經理說是他們服務員的錯，並且不打算還我們多算的錢，請小心這家餐廳，我不希望有更多人受害！！！！

Every time we meet up here for a family affair as it is central for us we are greeted with huge smiles and patience to large ordering family! <br/>Food is always good especially honey prawns, lemon chicken and sizzling plates and would recommend for the price and their attitude.<br/>Plus you can BYO or there wines are delicious and super super cheap per bottle I think it was $15 to buy a Yarra glen winery wine in the restaurant with table service - can’t beat that! Will return for sure.

The homemade duck spring rolls is yummy . The sizzling Szechuan beef well cook . We had a great dinner here . The staff is friendly too .will be back for sure

Never Again. This restaurant Is under new management & given the best Chinese around Cherry Tree just closed I thought I would give Mila's another go. Big mistake phoned through my order was told 25 minutes. After waiting 45 minutes n seeing another take away order picked up that was ordered after I started to get cranky. The manageress was very sorry saying new staff n she was helping in the kitchen as well. Finally got my order; ordered fried rice n a steak dish the steak was ok the rice never made it into the wok it was gluggy boiled rice with a bit of egg n peas in it. Very disappointed, as a local business owner I would not n could not recommend this restaurant to my clients I will just tell them that there is NO decent Chinese in Healesville anymore.

You could certainly do a lot worse than Mila's. The food is quite pleasant, almost great and the service attentive n friendly. Mila's also offer a BYO wine option which makes it a pretty cheap night out. Overall, Mila's while not fabulous, is extremely well priced and comes recommended
