Absolutely delicious! I highly recommend Elia.
The food was incredible. The lamb just melts in the mouth and the lemon potatoes were divine.
The staff were absolutely lovely and very attentive. Excellent service. Will definitely be back!
Talk about yum in the tum! We've been twice since opening because we just can't get enough of the delectable food, contemporary decor and all round good vibes! New fave for Greek food and vegetarian-friendly too!
Had a wonderful experience at Elia Greek tavern. The restaurant had beautiful decor and a great vibe and the food was amazing, traditional Greek food with a modern touch at its best. I would highly recommend it to everyone. We look forward to many more dining experiences at Elia!!
Love the cosy yet modern vibe at Elia. The food is delicious and the service is excellent. I'll be making this place my regular for Greek food.
love this place. food and service are top notch. Eliά will be on our regulars list.
From the moment i walked in, i was blown away by the fresh, vibrant feel of the place.
We chose almost everything on the menu and enjoyed it all. From sweet or savory saganaki to the slow cooked lamb shoulder, throw a few cocktails on top and we had ourselves a great night
Can't help but start salivating thinking about my next visit
Had an amazing experience at Elia Greek Tavern. The food was absolutely sensational. Great service and very friendly staff that made you feel at home. Can't wait to come back. Thank you for a wonderful night
I am still dreaming of the keftedes and pretty much everything else. This place is a must try! Thanks for having us Elia!
Great food and service... i highly recommend Elìa.
Food is cooked with care and love. The Barramundi was so tender and juicy! Wine list was surprisingly very good as well.
Incredible traditional Greek food with a modern twist! Love the small share plates, the grilled octopus a must try! Congratulations, well done! 🍽🍷😋👌
You won’t leave hungry and the food, atmosphere and staff are brill
I went to Elia on Sunday night for the first time and found the food to be amazing. The dips, slow cooked lamb, pork belly, lamb cutlets were all yummy. Will definitely be going back
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Food was fabulous. Service excellent. Only downside $10 a bottle corkage. Will be back.
Loved the traditional Greek food, with a modern twist, it was absolutely delicious! The atmosphere and service was fantastic. Definitely found my favourite Greek restaurant in Melbourne and will be going back very soon! Very well done
Fantastic Greek!
Modern twist on traditional meals!
Decor, menu and staff are fantastic!
Looking forward to going back.
Congrats on such a great new restaurant!
Absolutely loved the modern take on all the dishes but still keeping the authentic flavours of Greece! Brilliant food, even better service and love the decor. Great job Greg
Amazing Greek cuisine. Modern, delicious Greek food. Lamb was 10/10 and so was the fish of the day which was a baby snapper. Salads were awesome. Seriously a little gem. Best Greek in the north east.
I walked out with a big grin on my face and a very full belly!
Every item on the set menu for Elia Greek Taverns 2nd Birthday emobied food made with love. Generous portions. The prawns and slow braised lamb shoulder are to die for.
The atmosphere was lively and the service was great. It is always good to see the owners walk around and serve and talk to the customers.
10/10 for food, service & atmosphere. Great variety and quantity in the banquet - lamb shoulder is a must, falls straight off the bone. Will definitely be back!
Was in the area and searching for a place for dinner when we came across Elia on Zomato Gold. And the food was simply amazing! Every dish came out tasty, hot (for the hot dishes), well-presented and it even satisfies the fussiest eater in our family. The dips were delicious and portions were good. The bread was fresh and warm. The grilled octopus was a a gastronomical delight, the slow-cooked lamb a must order and the chicken skewers were so good. And even the simple dish of roasted vege was so delicious. Our server was attentive. All in all, we love the food here! Will definitely be back!
I came here randomly after being in the area and was extremely surprised at how good the food was! I ordered the bread, dips & lamb shoulder, all of which were fantastic!
If you’re in the area, definitely worth checking out and very reasonably priced ☺️
Simply great night out. Food come out fast, service was friendly, quality of the food was very good, had lamb shoulder, grilled peppers, grain salad. Price is reasonable for quality and serving size. Busy and a little noisy because it was busy. Definitely would go back
Delicious modern Greek tavern. Staff very attentive and helpful with the menu. We had the mixed dips with pita - when they saw we had run out they were quick to offer more. The lamb shoulder was amazing, fall off the bone in its own juices. And the grain salad was full of flavour. Very busy for a weeknight so be sure to book ahead. Will definitely come back.
Good quality Greek tavern in the middle of the suburbs
Modern Greek at its best
Staff are quick and alert
Meal sizes are fantastic
Decor and ambience are rocking
Definitely worth a try
We loved it. The service and the food and location were all excellent. Orange semifredo desert was a standout, as was the char grilled barramundi. Will be back
This place is super local for us so we decided to pop in! The food is really tasty & the service is really good! I wish they served some gyros or gyros bowls!
Went to dinner here and really enjoyed it! Really busy restaurant! It was my mums birthday and they made it special for her! Food was lovely. Will definitely be back.
Fantastic from the time we walked in the door. Service was second to none and food was spot on.
Elia was recommended by friends and it did not disappoint. Staff were so attentive the whole time and the food just kept coming out.
If you are in the area do your self a favour and go to this place. We will back.
Visited on a Saturday night and it was busy with good atmosphere. This place is delicous. Try the fish, it's amazing. Also the saganaki and lamb are great. A gem in Melbourne.
Visited this restaurant with friends for dinner. Lovely to see a modern stylish restaurant on Burgundy Street serving delicious food. Staff were friendly and there is a good choice of food and drinks. The shared plates, slow cooked lamb and variety of salads were enjoyed by us all, and we are keen to visit again to try other dishes on the menu. Beautiful interior and good food, this is what we need in Heidelberg!
Love Elia!!! Have dined here multiple times and every time we visit we are greeted with friendly staff and delicious food. How lucky are we to have such a great Greek restaurant in our local area. We’ve brought many family and friends here and they too love the food!
Really impressed, as a local I had dined at the prior Village Tavern but I certainly believe Elia is a step up with yummy Greek food presented beautifully.
The decor is amazing and my wife and I left thinking we would be visiting again very soon.
I eat out a fair bit and I’ve been to a lot of Greek Restaurants but Elia was amazing. I honestly have not had seafood like theirs since I was overseas. The staff were beautiful and so accommodating for someone like me with allergies. There was so much food always coming to our table and every single bite of it was phenomenal. The first thing I did when I finished was take some business cards and recommend Elia to friends. Great night out!
I came to this restaurant as a fan on the older, archaic restaurant that preceded them. They have taken suburban Greek food to another level in our quiet suburb. It has a very "family owned" feeling and as a massive credit to management, they attracted the skills of one of the hottest upcoming chefs in Melbourne, Cayleb Grant, to work with them, formerly of Little Black Pig (who seem to have deteriorated after his exodus). The chicken is amazing, and we don't have to suffer through belly dancers like the old place. It was appetite repressive, awkward and tacky.
If you live in the area, it should become a regular in your weekly night out. If you don't live in the area, you should travel to Heidelberg to taste the wares of Cayleb, who will certainly go on to greater things in the future.
Dined here last night and was super impressed! Decor was amazing, not something you would expect from a suburban restaurant. Service was quick and friendly and the food was fantastic. We had the octopus, prawn saganaki, lamb shoulder and roast veg - can’t wait to come back and try some other items!
Had been to the old venue a few times so was looking forward to trying the updated version.
It didn’t disappoint! Food was very tasty, well priced but still had the rustic feel. Staff and ambience on point too. Can’t wait to go back!
Dined at Elia last night and was really impressed with the food, fitout and service. Lamb was the best I have eaten and the salads were all really fresh and tasty. At $75 for two people we left full at a reasonable price, would definitely recommend :)
Elia is a beautiful Greek restaurant that provides great service and delicious traditional Greek food! I came here for dinner and was so impressed with the food and the place itself. I’ve dined at a lot of Greek restaurants (I am half Greek myself) and this restaurant is in the top ranks with Hellenic Republic in my opinion. I would highly 100% recommend this place!
Came here on a Saturday night and it was extremely busy but service was still very friendly and attentive.
Started with a sweet saganaki (roasted pear), octopus and prawns - all delicious. Then had a lamb shoulder (so soft!) and Greek salad to finish. Was a great meal and very reasonably priced - highly recommend!
The best Greek outside of Greece, I thoroughly enjoyed dining at this restaurant. The lamb melted in my mouth and the sweet saganaki was so delicious, we already can’t wait to go back.
Our party of 4 dined at the Elia last evening. I was disappointed when the previous Tavern closed – we had many very enjoyable meals there – but pleased Elia retained something, or should I say, someone from the old restaurant. That is the fabulous Vicky, who engages the diners with her bubbly personality, gives excellent advice on food and wine, and backs it up with excellent service. The restaurant has a modern, relaxed décor. The menu has a pleasing variety of small share dishes and a more limited but good set of large share dishes. Our party shared the king prawns, quail, calamari and zucchini patties to start, then the slow cooked lamb and pork belly for mains. On Vicky’s recommendation we added a salad; good call. All the dishes were excellent – quality ingredients, very well prepared by the guys in the open kitechen. From the wine menu we chose a white and a red, both Greek, but alas being unfamiliar with Greek wines I cannot recall their names. Both, however, were very pleasant and reasonably priced for restaurant wines. I would highly recommend Elia.
Wowee!!!! I was in food heaven from my first bite!! Prawn saganaki was to die for, octopus was amazing. Lamb melted in my mouth. Thankyou for your hospitality guys, made me feel like I'm in your home. Will definitely be back SOON with a big group to get the set menu. Can't wait to see you soon, many thanks for a great night. Oh the owner/waiter is pretty cute too.
Elia offers the best geek food with a modern twist. I will definitely be returning. The lamb shoulder were to die for! Succulent meat that just melts in your mouth. Friends and family get on this, it will definitely not disappoint!!!
Started with the calamari which was soft and tasty. I had the market fish and my better half had the lamb skewers. We shared the delicious lemon potatoes and enjoyed the greek wine! Stunning all round and a far cry from the old joint that I stopped going to "cos it was Sh%t"!
So pleased we gave it a try, we will definitely be back! Thanks guys for setting up such a great local Greek near us!!!
Simply Fantastic. Cannot go past the lamb shoulder or pork belly, both were delicious. Friendly service and a bubbly atmosphere is exactly what I'd expect from a Greek restaurant. Highly recommend.
Great experience I had at Elia, it ticked all my boxes for food and service. I Will definitely be recommending Elia my friends ad family and heading back very soon!
Thanks guys
Fabulous venue, wonderful service and delicious food!
We opted for the banquet menu... do not pass up this offering- try all the yummy authentic favourites (with a modern twist). The entrees were tasty, incl saganaki, calamari, tarma dip etc! The mains were definitely a stand out. The lamb and lemoni potatas were a massive crowd pleaser amongst the group. Also the grain salad was a flavoursome side to compliment the main dishes.
A great cultural experience overall from the background music to the specialised beverage selection and knowledgeable staff! Five out of five!
Went on a Friday night, full house but absolutely could accommodate our table of 8. Started with a round of cocktails (which were perfect) and was accompanied with saganaki and a paper bag with bread that would blow your mind.
We then ordered lamb, chicken and the market fish (which was char grilled barramundi) along with a grain salad, charred vegetables and salads which combined fava, nuts, seeds and creamy cheese.
Our night ended with a delicious bottle of red, a dessert platter with a slice of water melon.
I’ve left Greek venues before feeling like I’d over done it however this meal was perfection.
Would absolutely recommend this and will definitely be going back. Thank you for a beautiful night.
We recently dined at Elia Tavern and the food was delicious!! We had banquet number one which consisted of bread and dips (the dips were so tasty and fresh), saganaki, zucchini fritters (really well made and not greasy), calamari (nice & tender), the lamb shoulder (this was so delicious and probably my fave dish of the night) which was served with tzatziki, salad and roast potatoes, and dessert. We had to be rolled out of the restaurant, we were so full!!!!! I would definitely recommend this place. The decor inside is brand new and modern. The only reason I didn’t give a five is because it is a little noisy in there, but then again who cares when the food is so good!!
In a word....DELICIOUS!!! My first experience at Elia was for an engagement party that I was invited to. The venue was perfect. It looked fabulous and guests could mingle between courses. The food was sooo good I went back again just to make sure. Yep, same quality ingredients and so reasonably priced. I even had the chance to chat to the head chef. I was even more impressed when I learnt about his genuine ethos for SUSTAINABLE and local produce. There is no doubt in my mind I will be back again and again. Thank you Elia, you have renewed my passion for dining out!!!!
My favourite Greek restaurant! The prawn saganaki is a must. It has a beautiful rich red tomato sauce with large prawns. Recommend to order a side of bread to mop up all the amazing sauce! Being a pescatarian, there are many options + vegetarian dishes that I can have here. Highly recommended.
Place is very nice and modern. Food was nice the lamb shoulder was delicious, the lemon potatoes were ok. The dips were ok bread was a little disappointing. But overall nice food.
Wow! The food was just amazing with it’s authentic yet innovative twist on Greek cuisine, accompanied by impeccable service and cosy surroundings, it has surely become my new favourite restaurant!!
Amazing food! Really fresh melt in the mouth lamb shoulder. Everything we ordered was full of flavour and delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive. The decor and ambiance made for a lovely dinner experience. Highly recommended!
Highly recommend , everything was spot on - food, service , atmosphere .
From our entree of saganaki gluko ( this was amazing a bit of a twist with the dried pear but that little bit of sweetness balanced out the saltiness - yum) and char grilled octopus to our main of barramundi fillets & grain salad . We finished off with a serving of a baklava & fruit combo. Everything was delicious well done
Loved the traditional Greek food, with a modern twist, it was absolutely delicious! The atmosphere and service was fantastic. Definitely found my favourite Greek restaurant in Melbourne and will be going back very soon! Very well done 👌
Elia was phenomenal.
For two people we had:
2 small shares: dolmades and saganaki with fresh bread
1 large share: slow cooked lamb
1 side: Greek salad (forget the menu name)
And a spritzer cocktail
We finished everything with difficulty, we didn't want to waste anything it was so nice. Glad I had a flowy dress on, haha.
I was so happy with everything we ordered. The lamb melted and was very succulent. It wasn't heavily seasoned which really allowed you to enjoy the beautiful lamb flavour. It didn't look like a lot when it came to the table but looks are deceiving.
The saganaki was so delicious with the fresh bread and I loved the fresh salad.
I've never had dolmades before but enjoyed them.
The cocktail was very pretty and really tasty. It's sweet but enjoyable.
The atmosphere is beautiful, inviting and warm.
Reservation is a must as they were super busy on a Saturday night.
The service was quick, very attentive and our waitress (I think the previous owner?) Was incredibly friendly and gave us great recommendations.
We'll definitely be regulars here.
Total cost was $107, this includes the cocktail, glass of white wine and a beer
had a lovely experience there with the family. Food was amazing and great value. As a vegetarian it was good to go to a place where we all good eat
Decent authentic Greek experience! Friendly staff, bustling environment....classical sat night vibes for a good night. Lamb was super juicy, chargrilled octopus was spot on and the traditional Hotatiki salad was a great !! Well balanced flavours.....
We had a special occasion on Sunday and a group of 20 had a gorgeous, delicious time at Elia. Many commented it was the best Greek good they'd eaten. Friendly, attentive service, great communication and thoughtful touches made it a very special day!
Delicious modern Greek food! Friendly staff and large portion sizes! Will be back.
I don’t even know where to begin with this amazing restaurant! Best lamb shoulder in Melbourne hands down! Everything from the sides, mains to the dessert is delicious, well presented and well portioned! The staff are wonderful, great value and just great everything. Couldn’t recommend this restaurant more!
Food was delicious, highly recommend the beef cheeks & lamb shoulder.
The combination of dolmades & slow cooked braised lamb shoulder was simply superb. Will be back here again.
Excellant. Great food. Waiter was wonderful. He was happy and pleasant. He brought the cake over after our meal and sang Happy birthday with us to my son. Everyone enjoyed the meal. Lamb shoulder superb.
