I wasn't expecting much, but they served great food! Coffee wasn't super, they probably can do better. But the food and friendly service made this place my favorite cafe in the area. Will definitely come back to try other menus☺

The Pepper Tree seems to have all the elements that make a good modern cafe these days. I like the inside. I’ve always admired the distressed look and they have that here with patches of plaster missing and showing exposed brick. I like the wood and old style light fittings as well. It’s shabby chic and immeasurably more interesting than the decor in a couple of the other cafes in the area.
The staff were up and about. I was served promptly and politely with just the right measure of human connection when ascertaining and dealing with my needs. Water therefore came quickly as did the large long black I’d ordered. The coffee was absolutely fine. It was well made and flavoursome and was exactly what I was seeking on this cool grey day. The menu looked interesting here as well.
I liked the cafe and I’d certainly return.

Finally a cafe that brings an alternative, conscious and healthy cuisine to Heidelberg!
Was my first time here today and I will be back, at first I was drawn in by the natural wood interior. Then I saw they had wet chai (YES!) and later I discovered their lightening fast wifi. Worth a try...
I ordered the Chilli Eggs and a Wet Chai and was not disappointed by either, in fact the Chilli eggs were so good that I was prompted to write a review which I never do! They also have the best quality milk alternatives - Milk Lab almond milk and Bonsoy and the chai is delicious.
The staff are friendly and extremely attentive, and the menu is amaazing, I cannot wait to come back with my friends and try their extensive salad menu.
Thank you for bringing something fresh to Heidelberg! My new favourite!
The Pepper Tree in Heidelberg has become one of my favourite spots in recent times. A relaxed atmosphere, family friendly restaurant with friendly staff who are professional & welcoming. The menu is absolutely delicious! Using fantastic local produce and ingredients, the food has always been amazing, high quality and tastes just as good as it looks. Also it is great place to stop in for a morning coffee and to grab a bite to eat on the way to work or the job site.

The Pepper Tree is a new cafe along the well known cafe/restaurant district of burgundy Street Heidelberg. From a coffee to a decadent lunch- The Pepper tree is the place for you.
The menu is delicious and meticulously selected for the foodies of all ages. Breakfast, brunch/Lunch and beverages are excellent value for money and always made with quality produce. We have ordered from most parts of the menu and the 'Mr King Prawn Salad' was absolutely amazing, paired with Soba noodles and asian dressing it was the refreshing meal needed on a beautiful Spring day in Melbourne. Similarly, the breakfast was the perfect way to begin the day with poached eggs on 'Smashed Avocado' decidedly were the start to the day we didn't know we needed.
Coffee was brewed fresh and hot chocolate was mouthwatering. We cannot wait to peruse the menu for more refreshing drinks to try on our next visit.
The comfortable atmosphere for conversation and catch ups with friends and family will accomodate for all. We felt right at home in the cafe, chatting with staff and other patrons like we are all old friends.
The Pepper Tree is a warm, friendly and delicious place to spend your time and you're taste buds will thank you later. Pop in and say hello and try...everything.

My mum and I are absolutely loving it here, the waitresses are so nice, the Cafe is so nice, the bathroom is super nice, and all the food and drinks are super good. Overall i think this Cafe deserves to have a reward for all the things they do and have.
We absolutely had a great time here with fantastic food (espresso was also good one) and services. While we were looking at the menu outside, one of the staff talked to us casually and explained briefly. I quite liked how he didn't push us to get-in, but let us choose, and we are glad what we did. Thanks! Definitely will come back pretty soon.
Amazing food, we got the zucchini fritters and the big veggie breakfast. Customer service is outstanding, it's very hard to find good customer service these days and have the whole experience of going out and feeling looked after. Just fantastic!
Love their food and coffee! Their mushroom risotto is amazing, and the lemon pancakes 10/10. Really nice coffee too and staff is lovely!
This is a lovely little Cafe where I meet my niece for a coffee and chat catch up each month before she heads into work at the hospital as a nurse.
