We had such a wonderful time at Busby's! The food was amazing; my husband enjoyed the eye fillet and I loved the lamb backstrap - very authentic french cuisine. The head waiter was so charming and attentive and the place had such a cosy relaxing feel. Glad we went there for dinner while staying over night. We'll definitely be back!!

My husband and I went in to Busby's Restaurant last Saturday and had such a fantastic meal and evening. The atmosphere was warm and cosy, the service was so lovely and the food was fantastic - authentic french cuisine! My husband enjoyed the Eye Fillet and I tried and loved the lamb back strap. This was our first experience with Busbys and it won’t be our last! The staff especially Wilson is very attentive and friendly. I love the cosy intimate atmosphere of the restaurant, has a homely feel. However I was mostly impressed with how delicious the food was. We order everything to share and we loved it all. Beautifully cooked and well presented. Looking forward to coming back.
We had a great night with exceptional service. The attentiveness and level of care by the staff, made the whole experience extra special. It helped that the food was delicious too. I ordered the steak + salad which was perfect. We also ordered several of the desserts which were all on point. I would definitely go back and I highly recommend this place for a low-key night with great food and service.
For our first dinner since the lockdown eased we tried out Busby's restaurant last night and we loved it! Even though there weren't heaps of people in it (due to restrictions i guess) Busby's still had a great atmosphere. The food was amazing, I loved the eye fillet and my wife tried and enjoyed the chicken breast dish. The food and service was wonderful and I'm glad we tried it. We'll definitely be back!

I took my partner there for his birthday as a surprise and we were both blown away by the quality of the food and service. The waiter couldn't do enough for us. We shared an entree, had a main each and shared a desert. Every single dish was outstanding. The beef was absolutely melt in the mouth beautiful and caramelised perfectly on the outside. The atmosphere was relaxed and we will definitely be back.

Took my partner down after work on a Friday this time. Great food, excellent service, awesome desert. Will come and check out again for the seasonal special v soon. The highlight of the day this time: oysters with doubling the size of those ‘babies’ you find in the city at twice the price! And the scallops. What a treat!

My wife and I went to Busby's last wednesday and had a wonderful time. We've been there a few times and each time has been amazing. The food is authentic french cuisine; the eye fillet is simply the best. My wife really enjoyed the lamb as well. This time we stayed for desert and left happy, full and completely satisfied! The restaurant has a warm, friendly vibe and the wait staff were so friendly and accommodating. We'll definitely continue to come back; we love it!

Wilson and the team at Busbys were fantastic. We were immediately greeted upon arrival. Wilson made sure we were taken care of and ensured we had a pleasant dining experience.
We were pleasantly surprised with the food. We ordered a beef tartare, duck terrine, steak and fritte, beef bourguignon, and a creme brûlée. All dishes were tasty and delightful. Just the right amount of richness and creaminess.
Surprisingly, this little gem is located beneath best western hotel. Judging by its look, it didn’t seem anything out of the ordinary. Don’t be fooled by this. The food and the service is superb! Will definitely come back again!

I took my fiancé out to Busby’s for his birthday because it’s near our place and I’d read really good reviews on the restaurant before coming. Busby really didnt disappoint. The customer service was excellent. The entrees were to die for, especially the king prawns, both of the mains (lamb and scotch fillet) were gorgeous. The meats just melted in your mouth. We left Busby feeling very contented, satisfied and full. Nothing to fault. We’ll be returning for sure and will be bringing other people along. Keep up the awesome work!
My Wife and I went to Busby's the other night had I must say; we had such a wonderful time. It was very easy to get to (we were staying at the Buckingham - which is out the back), and when we were inside, the atmosphere was very cosy and friendly. The head waiter was a gentleman and the assistants were very polite and prompt.The food was great; authentic french food and expertly prepared/cooked. I loved the eye fillet and my wife tried one of the specials; we both loved them. The desert (cheese platter) was fantastic as well.We had a lovely time and will definitely be back!

We’ve visited Busby’s on a few occasions now and the food is excellent. It’s modern French inspired cuisine done well accompanied with a quality yet well priced wine list. The highlight of Busby’s however is their customer service. The resteraunt manager Wilson really takes this place to the next level with his attentiveness and warmth, something rarely seen in modern day resteraunts let alone those in the suburbs. Every time we have been here, he has gone above and beyond our expectations which is an absolute pleasure to experience. Maybe this is how celebrities feel when they dine out, or maybe this should just be the benchmark that other resteraunts aspire to be like. Either way, keep doing what you’re doing Busby’s and Wilson, we’ll be back that’s for sure!
We love this place! Really great quality food, service and atmosphere. We love the French theme but even the steaks are cooked actually how you ask for them, the menu changes just often enough and there's something for everybody, including a good choice of wines. This is where we take other people for dinner and they are always impressed. An absolute goldmine :)

We returned to Busbys after nearly two years and the experience reminded us of just how good the restaurant is. It was genuine fine dining without the huge price. We have now vowed to come more often. As a lover of duck I find it difficult not to preference it. It was first class.

Unassuming little restaurant as part of the Best Western on Napean Hwy. My family and I had a lovely meal and wonderful manager in Wilson - what a gentleman - who looked after us. We had the porterhouse, duck and pork and all were beautifully cooked and presented. A gem.
Came here for friday night dinner. The place was on the quiet side and the service was excellent and very attentive. Ordered kingfish as entree and mains were pork and cheese ravioli. Loved all three of these! Dessert creme brulee and mocktail were average. Overall the food and service was good!
Such a beautiful setting and definitely with a 5 star service. Not to mention the food was simple yet made with high quality. If you are looking for a place to eat in a formal setting, this place I highly recommend.
I remember AJ's at the Buckingham from some time ago being very good and Busby's is equally good. Food quality is very high (the pork cutlet and the duck breast were excellent) and the service was uber attentive. Dessert, a rum panna cotta, finished the meal beautifully. There were plenty of wine choices and some interesting variations in beers. So, if you like French-style cuisine you really must try it.

Busbys Restaurant & Bar is located on Nepean Highway in Highett. As a local I must have driven past a million times but assumed it was just part of the Best Western Hotel it’s attached to.
The interior is beautiful & felt like a fine dining experience to me. With an impressive menu of French cuisine I was excited to try the food.
Lovely manager Jodie suggested we start with their signature Cosmopolitan cocktails & we were happy to oblige. The gorgeous pink drinks had a unique twist with pink grapefruit juice & we both loved the citrus tang.
We started with entrees of Goats Cheese Soufflé & Steak Tartare. My friend loved the steak tartare & the presentation was amazing. I loved the soufflé, it was light & fluffy & was beautifully complimented by the provencale sauce. Both such impressive dishes & the presentation & attention to detail was incredible.
For mains we tried the Duo de Canard, duck breast & confit leg with an orange glaze, julienne vegetables & jus and the Eye Fillet. Again, when these dishes arrived they had a serious wow factor, so many beautiful elements put together on the plate. Both dishes were delicious & we appreciated all the work that had gone into each plate.
For dessert we shared the Baked Pineapple Cheesecake which was absolutely divine. I know I’m raving on about the presentation but every dish was picture perfect & we were blown away by all the tiny details & it made for an incredible dining experience.
The service at Busbys was friendly & attentive, Vernon in particular was fantastic & helped make our evening a memorable one. We loved every single dish & the food really was spectacular. Thank you so much for having us.

I went there for a dinner last week. I got the scallop for entree. It was pretty good but would just give it a 3.8 because the aroma of scallops were fishy which mean that the smell of the scallops wanted to keep me away! The main course i chose were steak and beef something I can’t remember the name. They were amazing. I got pinna cotta for dessert and that was my favorite of the night. I love it a lot. The service was incredible. They were so friendly and make sure everything goes well for us.

A very enjoyable night
After numerous trips to France eating traditional cuisines, I was really looking forward to experiencing a lovely night out with close friends to this establishment.
We all ordered different dishes and the scallops with braised pork belly was a delicious and well sized starter!
The escargot risotto was generously portioned. Creamy, full of escargot and flecked with pancetta. The taste brought back memories of travelling around rural France. It was divine!
My friends ordered the Black Angus Porterhouse (which was cooked perfectly) and the Beef Bourguignon (so tender that you could cut it with a spoon).
The service received from all the staff was excellent. Attentive and knowledgeable, always delivered with a smile (especially Wilson 😁).
They had a lovely 2 piece band serenading us for the evening playing all the old classics from Frank Sinatra to Elvis.
We had a wonderful Friday night and i'm really looking forward to coming back again 👍
I went to Busby's last night with a couple of mates & it was fantastic! I ordered the steak, my friend ordered the lamb & my other friend had a seafood dish & we were all enjoyed our food tremendously. Was cooked to perfection, presented beautifully & of course tasted wonderful. The service was brilliant, always attentive to our needs & provided a warm friendly environment. Furthermore, we were lucky enough to have a band who played some lovely music to accompany the food. All in all a wonderful experience, highly recommend!!

I stay overnight at BW The Buckingham motel once every month and usually dine at their Busbys Restaurant & Bar.
For a suburban restaurant Busbys is equal to or better than any Melbourne CBD equivalent, for menu, quality and service. ‘Please keep your chef, Busbys; he is divine 🙏🏻’. Whilst the menu is not extensive, there is always something for every pallet - always fish, poultry, meat and vegetarian options and one or two specialty dishes.
Busbys quality wine list caters for most at midrange prices, and if beer is your thing they have a small but interesting range.
The table service at Busbys is second to none and better than most busy CBD equivalents. Definitely worth the extra kilometre or two for a quiet or intimate dining experience in quality ambience. Take a seat in the bar if you like a pre-dinner drink or a nightcap afterwards.

We were delighted to be invited to eat at the French restaurant Busbys! We were surprised to see so little guests on a Sunday night but if they knew what Busbys had to offer there would be a line out the door. We started with what I say was a perfectly made espresso martini for $15 and a French beer. We were offered a warm herbed bread roll and butter which was a very enjoyable start to our evening. We started with the Japanese scallops which were plated beautifully and cooked absolutely perfectly. A great size entree. The other starter we enjoyed was the parmasen crumbed chicken tenderloin. Another beautifully plated dish with crispy chicken and a fresh salad, a very nice light starter. The main duo of duck and the sides of julienne vegetable and orange glaze was lovely. The lamb blackstrap was delicious. The desert selection at Busbys is going to make you forget your diet and indulge. The lemon and lime tart, chocolate mousse and crepe brûlée were all as perfect as they sound and pretty as a picture. Accompanying our dinner was a lovely French red wine which was a great suggestion from our waitress. We would recommend Busbys for a special night out, it really has the genuine flavors of being in France.
Jackie is definitely one of the most talented chefs in Melbourne. Don’t be fooled by the entrance (Best Western), you’ll have a great time here! Food is amazing especially the deserts!!

A fantastic, authentic french restaurant which I have enjoyed many times. I'm familiar with french cuisine and keep coming back to Busby's because of their mastery of it. It's a beautiful restaurant tucked away on nepean highway; it's always got a cosy, inviting feel to it. The maître d, Wilson is a gentleman and always happy to see me. I love the Eye Fillet, the Cheese Platters and if I'm feeling like a treat I enjoy one of the several great desert options as well. The specials are always nice too. I love coming to Busby's and thought it was time to leave them a review on account of how much I enjoy it. Keep up the great work everyone.

A small select menu with great presentation and a comprehensive wine list complemented the dining experience. So great to dine with clean starched napery and a considerate but not invasive staff. Definitely a little gem!

I have done 38 flights last year (2018) with work I have rarely found a restaurant of this caliber in the hotels I stay in. I always pick medium to high class hotels and pay between $120 to $250 a night. Busbys restaurant had the best ever scollops and pork entree I have ever had and back it up with a main and dessert to match. The service from the maître d' was great and my waitress Charlotte was amazing. Thank you Busbys for the most excellent dining experience.
Went there for V day, surprisingly good. Serve whipped butter with bread? Absolutely amazing and I have never been so pleased about the service.

Anyhooooo.... very pleasantly surprised... and reasonably priced.. the best would have been the snails rice. I mean the escargot risotto; also tried the 4 cheese ravioli and Bouillabaisse. Overall the dishes were quite good and the experience? Welll come in here and set ur expectations down to a local Parisian burb with a family owned feel... ranned place.. with hearty meals...... this is what busby reminds me of... not perfect but has character. It wont make it into the cbd but will definitely give the local villagers a damn good feed.

My husband and I went to Busbys two wednesday's ago and plan to return tonight; it was that fantastic. I had the lamb back strap and it was perfect, my husband had the Eye Fillet and said it was amazing (I pinched a bit to try and it really was great). There was a very relaxed and warm vibe to the restaurant. The maitre'd was a real gentleman and the staff made sure we had every thing we needed. I might try some desert tonight because it all looked great on the menu! Definitely one to make a regular night of.
I discovered Busby’s earlier this year and have been there a few times already. Each time has been a truly wonderful evening. Busby’s is more like an experience than a restaurant.
