A couple of weeks ago we were privileged to be invited, along with other food bloggers, to Must – one of the best and longest established bistros around town – to get a glimpse of their new menu – and new direction. The new menu is made up, as chef and owner Russell Blaikie says, of those dishes he likes to cook at home – and along with a streamlined wine list is a major change in direction for this 17 year old icon of Perth dining.

When Lifestylebylily asked me to attend a sundowner event sampling a brand-new menu at MUST Winebar in Mount Lawley, I immediately said yes as I have been to this venue before and have eaten delicious meals prepared by the talented Russell Blaikie, so I was very excited. The new menu incorporates the theme: ‘more vegetables, more sharing, less formal’.

Came here on the recommendation of a friend. Greeted by snooty ,too cool for school , wait staff.
Ordered a very tasty Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir and the house charcuterie platter to share.
All components all expertly made and tasty.
Would love to come back and try other things on the menu.

Classy French Bistro…

A classic French style bistro that has been around a long time. Consistency seems to be the key as the food and service on this visit were as good this time as when I last visited many years ago…

FoodClassic French style bistro food, utilising the best of locally sourced produce. The menu, whilst fairly small, gave plenty of choice (meat, seafood & vegetarian options) and has regularly changing specials. There is an extensive wine list by the glass and bottle and halleluiah - excellent fresh bread and butter which was plentiful and free (restaurants that “nickel-and-dime” you by charging for bread is a pet hate!).

ServiceService was prompt, professional and friendly but relaxed and casual, so attentive but not claustrophobic which was ideal.

All in all, an excellent restaurant which I would highly recommend. Some consider it a little pricey, but you get what you pay for, and this was value for money…

professional professional professional. that’s all there is to it. you want to impress someone, in either business or life? this is where you bring them. some checks and balances are needed with the dishes before they get to the client. but as a whole experience, it’s difficult to fault. the service is exemplary.

Great little spot. A new local for me. Held an event there in the Private Dining Room. Exceptional service with prompt waitstaff. Reasonably priced for the quality and service they provide. Food has always met my expectations. Meat cooked perfectly, friendly staff and very accommodating for my gluten free guests. Highly recommend. Great place to hold events.

Booked for group of 4, not busy but service patchy and slow. For example 2 of 3 entrees came out briskly but 3rd took forever. The rule is entrees should come out within say 5mins of each other. I felt bad savouring my crispy pork belly 👌🏽 as a fellow diner waited waited & waited some more for his octopus. Also I’m not a fan of fries.

My favourite spot of some nibbles! The mixed oysters were delicious can’t recommend them enough if you enjoy oysters. The cheese platter was is also a great choice. If you like octopus the dish here is yummy!

The ambiance in this place is very intimate and the service is excellent here.
The menu is nothing that I'm used too, it's very different. I played it safe and had the beef and it was soo tender. Enjoyable and just enough!!
I'm a sucker for bread and butter and the complimentary ones that they brought out was to die for. The bread was so crusty, I actually enjoyed it more than the mains!!!

We were here from Melbourne and celebrating a birthday. Booking on line and leaving message on phone didn't work. So just as well I called back next day.
Putting that aside once we arrived all went smoothly. Nice table in buzzy environment. Service was just right. Nice menu with plenty of choice without being a novel. Food was nicely presented and lived up to the reputation. Will visit again when next time in Perth

Must was really fabulous. Oysters natural were as fresh as the ocean. My crab angel hair pasta was incredible and generous as an entree size. My partner raved about the quail breast with rabbit pie (although dodged a boney bullet in the quail breast - but the food was so delicious that he was hardly bothered). Service was friendly and efficient. Even the bread and butter was delicious! Pricing was inoffensive; not cheap but it felt like value. We'll visit again 😊

My partner and I made an 8:15pm reservation to celebrate our anniversary. We arrived early and grabbed a drink at the bar and waited for our table. There were quite a few groups at the bar having social drinks which was nice and there was a food menu for the bar which I would be interested in coming back to try. The restaurant is next to the bar but somewhat separate and intimate. My partner and I had the octopus for an entrée and it was definitely worth trying. I liked how they had entrée and main size options as I'm quite a small eater so its much more efficient. I thoroughly enjoyed the Gnocchi and would definitely recommend it. My partner also enjoyed his angel hair pasta. Overall it was very well priced and a lovely meal.

Must Winebar is a home to more than 500 types of wine and they released their new bar menu (called Must Graze) recently. Most items in the menu cost under $20 and each of it was really delicious. What we had was sample size of the original food, so presentation and portion might be a bit different from below photos.

I was really in the mood for a carby dinner and ordered the angel hair crab pasta - YUM and frites - double yum. They really delivered. The pasta size was teeny tiny (I ordered the entree) but so rich that by the end I was very satisfied. My husband ordered a steak and it was cooked to perfection. We had been wanting to come here for awhile and were not disappointed!

My daughter and I so enjoyed our Taste of Must Spanish 4-course dinner with matched wines. The food, drinks, service and atmosphere created on the mezzanine deck was super. A perfectly lovely evening!

The ‘Must Winebar’ has been around now for what seems like an eternity in restaurant years. The years have not sullied the old girl partly due to continuous refurbishment and attention to detail, with regards to the interior, wine list, and menu. Menu wise the kitchen follows the path of seasonal freshness and liberal experimentalism tied together by classic French culinary techniques. The results are outstanding, I cannot say I have ever eaten a bad meal here. On this occasion I tried the Chicken Liver Parfait, beautifully presented, smooth and subtlety flavored, followed by a Slow Cooked Pork Belly with Scallops, Pumpkin Purée, Apple Salad and Pedro Ximinez Glaze. Absolutely tender pork infused with yummy flavors. All washed down with a Pinot Grigio, my only regret no Calvados. The Must Winebar is well worth a re-visit

The atmosphere is lovely and the food is great, but unfortunately the crab angel hair pasta was a little disappointing. The flavour war great, but the pasta seemed a little overcooked and could have done with more crab. This is one of my favourite dishes and I always order it if it's on the menu, but this one definitely didn't live up to our expectations. All other dishes (chicken liver parfait, octopus, lamb shank and barramundi) were quite nice, so I would give come back.

Delightful. Hubby and I enjoyed dinner on my birthday. The ambiance is welcoming and warm, music at just the right level, lighting appropriate and polished, well-presented staff. We started with cocktails and both were exceptional. The waitstaff were knowledgeable and authoritative about the menu and winelist (which, by the way, is huge!!) But I was a touch underwhelmed with the food. Our pork belly and scallop dish fell a touch flat, as the pork belly just didn't melt as well as it should have. Flavours were there though. The goats cheese souffle was excellent. My barramundi main was lovely, though not extraordinary, and my husband chose the confit duck which was beautifully married with the asparagus, puree and accompanying jus. I did love the way our attendant helped us select and chose our wines to match very well indeed. Overall it was very pleasant, next time I think we'll come back for cocktails and some of the starter dishes to share at the bar. Its a firm affirmative recommendation. Thanks guys... the staff deserve it. 😊 By the way... be sure to reserve in advance, this place is popular!!

Was here as part of Dimmi restaurant week (50% off food). Food was amazing as was the service. Was worried the quality wouldn't be as good or we only get limited menu options but was wrong. Couldn't fault anything. Still dream about the beef cheek pie and the creme brulee.

Had a delicious meal here! I eat out a lot and have to say the beef short rib with fillet was one of the best dishes I have had in a long time, cooked to perfection. The pork belly entree with scallops and barramundi were also cooked well. Portion sizes are decent and the service was attentive.
Definitely somewhere I will be returning to.

Cramped, very cramped space and really noisy. The menu is limited and each time I've been recently I've wondered where we're meant to stand. Behind the bar looks more inviting. Decent wine list but there's no longer anything that's a standout and the inviting atmosphere has gone. Rather go elsewhere.

I find the menu here very limited. As is the space (very cramped!). Service is ok however not somewhere I would rush back to. However I love the sound of their one night special menus where they focus on a certain ingredient so that could have me back much sooner!

Fantastic meal at Must. Angel hair pasta is always a must do and the entree size was just the right amount for me. The duck was divine - moist and flavourful! The little citrus salad on the side helped cut through the richness. Special thanks to my waiter, Sebastian, as I left all my food and wine choices in his hands for the night and he delivered!

It's been a while (maybe years) since we've been here - food is still good and the menu doesn't look like it's changed much. Great atmosphere but was sat a bit too close to the couple on the table next to us - personal space please. Oh and they forgot to give us bread which every other table had, luckily we weren't hungry enough to ask for it but still 'I want my bread!'

We came here for a lovely lunch 2 weeks ago and it was such a delightful experience. We tried their 2 course menu for $45 and everything was perfect. For entree I ordered fig salad to share, for main my boyfriend got beef short rib, I had beetroot gnochhi and we shared a vanilla bean creme brulee. The care that went into the food can be seen on every single dish, they were nicely presented, and tasted just as good as they look. The fig salad had great texture and flavour, especially with the addition of blue cheese to break up the sweetness of the fig paste. The beef fell off the bone easily and the all the elements on the beetroot gnocchi dish were so enjoyable to eat. The creme brulee was creamy and every spoon was a delight. I must also mention the impeccable service that we received, our waiter was professional yet friendly and non-intrusive. All in all we had an amazing time and will definitely return to try other dishes on the menu! Could not recommend this place enough.

Overall I expected more from a place like this. Firstly as we in a larger group (16 of us), we were not able to get access to the full menu. Apparently they are unable to cook dishes to the same quality for a large group. Personally for the price that you are paying for the meals, you would think they could cater to the orders of the customer. We had a variety of dishes including the oysters (not very fresh), prawn tortellini (yum but looks more like a ravioli), confit duck (falling off the bone), fries (freshly fried) and broccolini ($14 for 5-6 pieces!). Overall the food was nice but I wouldn't be coming back anytime soon considering the price. The service was also slow as we had to wait a while for our food to come out.

Seasonality is by no means a new trend when it comes to cooking, but it’s one that has definitely become more and more prevalent in Perth over recent years. With supermarket giants Coles and Woolworths offering produce year-round that probably shouldn’t be available, it seems that restaurants are bucking in the opposite direction – paying homage to the natural cycle of food.

I’m a real fan of French food and I can see the French influences in the cuisine. I started the night with rabbit rillettes which were soft and juicy and oozing flavour. The char of the baguette presents a lovely contrast against the richness, as too the acidic pickling juices of the grapes. For mains I ordered the slow roasted Moroccan spiced lamb rump which presented 4 juicy thick slices of slightly pinkish lamb, flavoured by slightly fruity spices which had formed a slight crust on the outside and permeated inside the flesh. Quite tasty, though I really loved the chargrilled courgettes which were simply fantastic. For dessert I ordered the white chocolate mousse which was light and airy almost like eating cream. The richness was contrasted with citrus fruits like grapefruit which while sour, partner well with the elements on the plate. Pretty good but it didn’t wow me. Sometimes one can choose dishes which are better than what others ordered. I had a small taste of the duck which left me envious and I also had a taste of the tiramisu which was excellent and had me wishing I had ordered that instead. Well crafted food that was solid rather than spectacular, in an excellent atmosphere with equally good service to boot.

Sensational food. I love the delicate flavours that are complex which, along with excellent service, is what sets fine dining apart from the rest. However, I found the waitress quite brash and it was difficult to get service at all when we were seated right near the entrance service desk. Price is quite high compare to portion sizes but it was almost excusable with the quality. I loved the big generous chunks of blue swimmer crab in the angel hair pasta and the gorgeous flavours of the tiger prawn soufflé. The pork belly with scallops was disappointing as the portion was minuscule. Overall, highly recommended.

Had a lovely dinner with friends last night. Great service and very good food. Really adequate portion sizes. We had some daily specials and some from the daily menu. Lamb great, Harvey beef ok and Barramundi was delicious. Would highly recommend and will go again.

We have been to Must countless times. It’s a fantastic little wine bar and a great restaurant. You can sit just outside and watch the World go by, listening to the  hubbub of Beaufort Street and laughing at people stumbling out of The Queens!

Inside Must however, its polish, professionalism and amiable decorum.
We recently (re)tried their midweek bistro lunch. On the Wednesday we went, it was packed and I am pretty sure most were taking advantage of the great value “fixe prix” menu.

As is the custom, you can choose a starter and a main or a main and a dessert. There were 3 choices of each. You also get a glass of either a red, a white or a bubbly. There was even a free basket of some very nice crusty bread.

We deliberately chose differing meals so that we could try as much as we could. Our starters were very picturesque. A Nicoise salad, with beautifully succulent cubes of salmon and the daintiest of quail eggs was really refreshing. The other entrée was a smart little terrine of meat, which I expected to be more pate-like, but it was nice nonetheless.
 

The steak frite was tender and cooked to perfection and the beautiful shoe-string fries (fast food in shape only) complimented the meat and jus perfectly. Our second main was a duck leg confit, nestled on a bed of mash with a fantastic sauce/garnish concoction of onion, brussels sprouts and hazelnuts. The flavours were awesome and the duck portion was just right.

So, great food, great service, and great surroundings (though a little cramped on our visit) and a short stroll from everything else – for $45 a head. Fantastic!

The a la carte menu is also well worth attacking in the evening.

New Year’s Eve may be just another night, but it is one of the few dates in the year where you generally remember what you did, even if only for the past few years. It is an excuse to celebrate and it is an excuse to indulge. After particularly impressive pre-drinks across the street at The Queens, we ventured the short distance to Must Wine Bar to see what was about to be served in the lead up to 2016. We were in good spirits from a combination of the ten dollar prohibition cocktails on offer, and the enthusiastic performance of the staff, all dressed in prohibition theme, and genuinely enjoying their night, albeit at work.

I’ve been to Must quite a few times, usually with Miss K. Must have a pretty consistent menu which doesn’t normally change. What they do though, is have special nights, like French nights or Italian nights. Starting around the end of 2015, they started a “Taste of” series. In December 2015, I went to the “Taste of Cherry” night. Because I’m preggers, I couldn’t have the pate, or anything raw or undercooked. They substituted some things from their vegetarian version of the menu. It was less than impressive, the best bit was the Cherry Ripe Dessert…

My husband and I dined here in the early evening Saturday night. I ordered the confit duck leg which tasted lovely with the crispy radishes and a recommended German blend red wine. My husband had the lamb but unfortunately didn't enjoy the tough cut of meat which was provided.

Been here a few times now, impeccable service every time. Food wise the duck is beautiful, slightly crispy skin and the meat is not dry. Fish is good (could be better). Steak is nice. Oysters hit the spot. Entrees are good and Desserts are divine. I don't like feeling ripped off which is usually the case in the Perth dining scene, Must delivers quality from my experiences.

Yet another visit to Must - 3 times in the past 2 months, and any wonder?
This time we went for the oyster lunch - fabulous lunch special of half price natural oysters with a choice of 2 dressings, at half  price.

I had 6 oysters with shallot vinaigrette dressing, followed by the beetroot heirloom salad. Along with Must's sensational bread and butter, this was a delicious meal. The beetroot salad was fresh and lively - complemented by the soft goats cheese, cured duck,  and candied  walnuts. Add a glass of champagne to the mix, and it's bliss. 

My friends tried the angel hair pasta for the first time and were in food nirvana. "How is it that we've never had this before??"  For once, I skipped the pasta. Sometimes you love a dish so much you miss out on other quality taste experiences because you never want to order anything else. 

Service was top notch as always.  Food, service, wine, overall enjoyment.  This is why I will always keep coming back to Must. It never disappoints.

Deciding what to eat with my mum is always a difficult task. She's hard to please and doesn't like brunch 🙄. But it was a weekday and I had some Dimmi points to redeem, so I booked a table for lunch at Must Wine Bar. I've been to Must a few times over the years and the food and service has been consistently excellent!

The Angel hair pasta with blue manna crab is really good. This was my mum's main and she was more than pleased 😂. My main was the daily special - Harvey beef plate which consisted of roast beef fillet, cheek pie, smoky onion purée and mushroom sauce. Everything was cooked well. For dessert I got the dark chocolate tart which was really rich by itself but balanced well with the sour poached cumquats and blood orange sorbet. My mum was very happy with her dessert - chocolate soil and coffee cream 👌🏼. Highly recommended - 🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻/5

On the first Tuesday of every month, one ingredient is highlighted and for this four course tasting it was the very underrated Asparagus.

In the heart of buzzing Beaufort Street, Highgate is Must Winebar. Opened in 2001 by Russell Blaikie, Must is an iconic neighbourhood favourite popular for both its food, excellent service and a celebrated wine list. Recently, I visited Must Winebar for the first time with my family on a Sunday night. We were seated on the first level, overlooking the ground floor with live music playing at the bar, slowly sipping on our champagnes and being in the moment.

Lovely setting, good service and a fantastic selection of wines.

The staff were also very knowledgeable about the meals and actually offered a recommendation (which is becoming a rarity)

Would love to see them get on the current trend of Balkan wines (Eg. Macedonia and Croatia)

The lamb dish was spectacular in taste (could have been a bigger serve)

Relatively pricey, but at least the food has the flavour to back up the pricing.

Due to a very unexpected invitation from the Zomato team, I was fortunate enough to have been invited to the October ‘A Taste of Must’ dining experience at the Must Wine Bar in Highgate, along with several other top food bloggers in the Perth area. ‘A Taste of Must’ is a 4-course tasting menu with a themed focus on a seasonal ingredient that is locally farmed and sourced, which is paired with specific wines that compliment each dish. These dining experiences take place once a month and the seasonal food focus for my night was ASPARAGUS. I was excited to see how the head chef and owner, Russell Blaikie and his team, would include asparagus in each dish- especially dessert!

Must is a sensational spot for dinner. The decor is sexy and chic. I have been a couple of times and the food is always beautifully presented and while the portions seem small, they are full of flavour and leave you satisfied. The wine list is extensive and they have some fabulous ciders too.

Unlike the “Pass the asparagus” scene in American Beauty where Kevin Spacey hurls the plate of delicate green stems against the wall, there was no such uncivilised behaviour at Must during our recent asparagus dining experience.  Our band of foodies was invited to a Taste of Must evening, courtesy of Zomato, and Must Winebar head chef and partner, Russell Blaikie.

Thanks to Zomato, I get to meet with 9 other foodies (bloggers) whom I've been wanting to see as well as eating outstanding dishes presented by Must Wine Bar! "A Taste of Must" is a monthly event when we get to taste a specific ingredient being the star of all 4 courses! October's theme is ASPARAGUS. Fyi, November: EGG; December: CHERRY & January: CHEESE. Choose your fav ingredient (if not all) and book now to save your spot folks!

What we were served with tonight:
APPETISER: Trio of Blue Manna Crab Custard & Asparagus Tips; Prosciutto & White Asparagus Crostada; "Season of Love" Asparagus Infused Gin Sour --> The best part for me was the custard, it's very smooth and silky. Give me a big bowl of that and I'll be really happy.

ENTREE: Asparagus & Shallot Tart Tatin, Mushroom Foam, White Wine Gastrique --> This dish was perfectly seasoned and delightful to eat, especially the mushroom foam.

MAIN:
Spiced Lamb Rump, Asparagus Risotto, Asparagus Raw Salad Shanklish, Walnut Tahini --> This was pretty much everyone's dish of the day! That meat was so juicy, melts as soon as you put in your mouth. The walnut tahini was second best part, creamy and delicious. I would go back just to order this dish again.

DESSERT:
Chocolate Aero, Salted Caramel IceCream, Samphire --> Each elements compliments each other. The chocolate aero was rather sweet, but not if you eat it with the ice cream.

Overall we had a wonderful and delectable night at Must Wine Bar. A Taste of Must is definitely something everyone needs to try, at least once. Went home with full tummy and happy feeling. Thank you once again Zomato for organising this lovely meeting.

I was in Asparagus heaven. What a beautiful night of delicate, well thought out dishes. Last night was owner Russell Blaike's second 'A taste of must' a 4 course meal focusing on a seasonal ingredient with paired wines. Last night's asparagus focus was to die for! Starting with blue manna crab custard, asparagus tips and a prosciutto and white asparagus crostata paired with an asparagus infused gin sour. Then to an asparagus tart tartin with mushroom foam. A main of middle eastern lamb rump and asparagus 2 ways finishing with a chocolate 'aero', salted caramel ice cream and samphire. The well thought out and beautiful balanced dishes highlighted the feature asparagus perfectly. I cannot wait to head back for the upcoming Taste of Must nights with Egg, Cherry and Cheese to come.

We also shared in a ceviche of Shark Bay snapper which was served with a sriracha rice cracker to scoop up each bite of the tender and zingy fish. That cracker was a really inventive way to introduce some heat and texture to the dish, without distracting from the main flavours. I love how vibrant the citrus was and how tender the snapper still remained - it was cured just right.

I've always had a soft spot for Must Wine bar. The service is impeccable and the wine list is excellent. Great spot to unwind after work with friends and ideal for a corporate meet. The gnocchi and steak are my favourite dishes. Definitely one of Perth's top venues

Fantastic foods and ambience! Steak and frites were cooked to perfection, and gnocchi with braised beef was generous and an entrée size was able to feed a normal appetite. Extra brownie points for the complimentary French bread. Definitely will return

Great spot for a drink and a few nibbles or dinner out. Good selection of by the glass wines although staff are probably less than knowledgable on the wines.

Always a good evening out but at the pricey end but good for that special occasion or to impress.

It's my go-to when I'm dying for a good quality steak! Good atmosphere, romantic yet vibrant environment, service is always good and food is amazing!

Be prepared to spend a lot of money. The mains are about $45 each. That said, the food is amazing. The rib eye I had from the specials menu was to die for, perfectly cooked with a beautiful sauce. Definitely worth the price.

Gnocchi lunch. Delicious. Sadly only 4 people in Thursday lunch. Why? The octopus was just gorgeous- delicate and tasty. The chicken/ mushroom gnocchi had to be the specialty and the berry tiramisu not like any tiramisu I've tasted but was fab. Go.

Went there again, spectacular!!! The music was great and not too loud! I don't know why people are saying the staff are bad because they were excellent! Loved it once again. The Angel Hair Pasta with Chilli, Blue Mana Crab and Tomato. It was amazing again! I could eat there every day and night! I don't know how food could be so perfect! Congratulations Russle Blakie (sorry if I spelt it wrong) you have made an fantastic restaurant and will be returning soon!

Loved the staff service! The angel hair pasta is better than the pasta in Italy! I have it as entree and main! Best food in Perth. A bit on the expensive side but otherwise it is a MUST! Do yourself a favour and eat there! Can't wait to go back!

We had lunch on a chilled Saturday at must eating from the bar menu, there is a reason that must is a mount lawley institution; they just do what they do very well. We had the chicken parfait and it was amazing in texture and favour, steak tartare, frites, polenta bites were all spot on. Drinks were fantastic too. Will definitely return

Exceptional All Round!. With Valentine's Day just a few days ago, I had another anniversary of sorts and what better way to spend an anniversary than sharing a meal, something to wash it down with and some good conversation. With having the special occasion having fallen on a Monday there weren't too many options available but by no means did our experience feel like we'd taken a consolation prize. Far from it.

As per the usual with a big occasion planned, there goes the obligatory fasting prior to dining and by the time I arrived, I was absolutely starving, so much so when our host for the night asked if we'd like to have a few drinks at the bar prior to seating at our table, I immediately confessed that I'd driven a little faster than normal and that we'd arrived early in the hope we'd get in before the rush. With that she sat us both down and promptly brought us some crusty baguette with butter to snack on.

It's funny how sometimes I'll judge a place by the "simple" things like the bread and fries served, in that with something so small, it can be the attention to detail with such items that are considered simple, that can make such a difference to the overall experience and if the bread was anything to go by, the anticipation for the other dishes was immense.

Entree was a serving of the Chick Pea Batter Oysters, Chicken Liver Parfait and Slow Roasted Pork Belly. The parfait was served with a delicate brioche and Riesling jelly and was flawless and I'd go to say the best parfait, I've had to date and the oysters were of the same ilk with a crispy, crunchy, crust and beautifully cooked oyster within and served with an guacamole like salsa with avocado, tomato and onion. These too were world class oysters but my girlfriend thought that the salsa didn't compliment the oysters and although I enjoyed the salsa and it complimented the oysters, I could have possibly gone without. The pork belly was lovely too and served with a silky cauliflower cream and seared Exmouth scallops. Another impressive dish that was hard to fault. The pork was succulent and was readily cut with a fork and a very well blended dish but I'm not exactly sure what happened with the crackle, in that it appeared that the skin had been removed and then the fat seared and crisped up. It was still very good but I'd have expected the crackle have been a smidge better.

For mains we had Sirloin Steak with Pomme Frites and Pan Fried Gnocchi. I must say that I can certainly understand why this place comes so highly regarded and recommended as both dishes were immensely enjoyable. The steak was served with the best Béarnaise sauce that's ever passed my lips and although the steak was a little over the rare we ordered, it was still juicy and beautifully tender and well seasoned. The gnocchi was another stellar dish with gorgeous pillows of potato that were perfectly crafted and served with a side of braised beef shin, in a rich sauce with mushrooms and parsley velouté. On the initial mouthful of beef shin, I'd thought that it was a little rich but once blended with the velouté, they became a harmonious.

The whole experience made for an amazing night overall and the service matched the dishes that were served. I can highly recommend the Must Wine Bar for any occasion and even on a Monday night. I loved the fact that being the first ones there that we were in and out within a little over an hour and before the ever present coma from the endorphins of such a beautiful meal. I reckon I might have to make this a regular thing on a Monday night. Another thing I really liked is that you could opt to take any bottle of wine home at bottle shop prices.

Highly recommended! Outstanding value for money.. As an event organiser for a large social group here in Perth, I get around a bit ... restaurants that is ;)

I hosted an event for 20 diners at the upstairs Champagne Lounge of the Must Winebar. All of us are seasoned diners and have been known to be quite critical at times.

The resounding consensus of our experience: "We have to come back asap".

Venue: Beautifully decorated, spacious seating around the large table, linen tablecloth and napkins, chandeliers, own little bar area, muted background music, etc.

Service: Impeccable from start to finish. My big thanks go to Laura ... the manager that I dealt with ... for going out of her way to accommodate my wishes.

Food: We started with 200 oysters and French Champagne, followed by dinner. I love oysters and can only say DELICIOUS. Very fresh, good size and four imaginative kind of dressings/preparations.
Our entrees/mains/desserts, all equally well received.

Our bill came to $80pp including nine bottles of Champagne and several glasses of wine. We stayed for 4.5 hours.

Outstanding value for money. We will be back!

Very very good. Good down to the butter they serve with their house bread basket.
Had charcuterie board, beetroot and goats cheese salad, angel hair blue manna crab entree and then salmon with fennel orange salad for mains - oh boy was it yummy. Wine selection and dessert was good too. Service was busy but polite and we did not have to wait long for anything.

We went for Valentines Day and paid $100 for a 4 course menu with champagne. It was all amazing! The wine is of course spectacular. My only critique would be that the chocolate mousse needed more raspberry sauce and the salad with that accompanied the lamb was nothing flash. Our waiter Mikayla was very attentive and polite.

Great little place. Love the wine. I remember coming here and the food was delicious. However the menu isn't too big. But it isn't a pub I suppose, and the food seems tedious to prepare, so that's understandable. Great little place to come to! Definitely enjoy coming here and would like to come again.

I went there for Valentine's day, the atmosphere was nice and the food was excellent. However we could stay in there for 2 hours and the waitress/supervisor was pushing a bit, we had stayed in there for 50 min and we asked to wait a bit for the dessert as we were drinking wine and enjoying our night, but after 4 min she just put the dessert spoon on the table and brought the last dish, it was clearly visible she wanted us to leave, just think she could be more professional! Overall, the experience was good!
