Well situated in Battery Point. Our party of 3 entered the restaurant and were greeted with a warm, vibrant diner atmosphere downstairs and to amazing smells coming from the kitchen. So it was to my disappointment that we were told to follow the waitress upstairs to what was a pretty sterile atmosphere. The music of some poor-man's-David-Bowie blasting through tinny speakers recessed in the corners seemed such an odd contrast the expected traditional Italian pedigree of the place. Suggest you think about this as I felt I'd been transported from Little Italy to a Blue Light Disco. As the upstairs dining room filled the atmosphere improved but the lack of walls and acoustic barriers means you can hear conversations on the other side of the room.
However, the food was sensational and the pizza I had (a medium 'The Lot' which is ideal for one person with a semi-appetite) was arguably one of the best pizzas I've had in years. The other dishes ordered were also exceptional and well sized. The pizza represents great value. The service is also very good and the right level of attentive.
Would go back for sure but would insist on a downstairs table in my booking.
What a fantastic experience! Angelo is a legend. The hospitality was warm and sincere, the food was tasty as NUTS and we will be back. Recommend the gnocchi which is hand-rolled by nonnas. The waitress had the right level of sass, confidence and expertise. Good for her.
Delicious & authentic Italian pasta. try the gnocci, the venafro sauce was so yum. Good sized portions and a reasonably priced wine list.
Beautiful food made with love. The pasta is to die for and the seafood is fresh. Service was terrific. If you want a home made, authentic Italian meal, this is the place to go.
Anything less than a 5 would be a horrible injustice. This joint seems to be an institution amongst locals and tourists. You can go takeaway but we dined in. The service we received was effortless and friendly, so very good... and the food. I don’t say this lightly but it was by far the greatest gnocchi carbonara I’ve ever had and probably ever will have. All of the pasta and gnocchi is made on site by the nonnas and you can 100% taste it. Bruschetta pizza was amazing as was the seafood risotto. I ordered a little creamy potato thing as a side and it was amazing too. If you come to Hobart and don’t come here you’ve got no idea.
Dining solo in a busy restaurant without a reservation and I STILL received beautiful service from their lovely waitress, plus the pollo toscana was bloody delicious! Would go back fo sho.
Now this place is probably the best Italian I’ve had and I live in Melbourne which has great Italian restaurants as well. The owner is really nice and accommodating. You need to book ahead because it’s very popular. I try to here every time I’m in Hobart. Yum!!
Pizza is delicious and very fresh. The price of the food is very reasonable. Waiting for take-away time is very short. Strongly recommend friends to come here to eat.
We have been going to this beautiful restaurant for a number of years and the food, service and atmosphere is always 10/10. The staff are always welcoming and make every evening a pleasure. The Toscana is my favourite and would highly recommend it.
A cosy, home style Italian restaurant serving incredible flavours. Da Angelo is a hidden gem in the quiet streets of hobart. The hospitality was incredible, with the waitress answering the dozens of questions we had with a smile on her face. We had the Basil Pesto fettuccine (home made!) along with a vegetarian pizza (amongst many things), and the generous portion sizes made sure we were well fed! Unfortunately the seams of our pants didnt allow for dessert - next time!
Went back here recently after having moved away from the area for several years. Did not disappoint. The garlic prawn and chicken brie pizzas are still just as amazing.
Book ahead. Very popular. Quite pricey but good service, good ambience and pleasant, generous serves. Love an Italian restaurant with a rogues’ gallery of famous pics, which includes Sam Newman’s twisted-sand-shoe mug 😂
I felt welcome as soon as I was seated. Though busy, everything were in control and order. The staff took care of me throughout the dining with a Italian family vibe. The prawn fettuccine was ok, slightly under cooked and too creamy for me, not much aroma from the fresh pasta itself. The gelato was a great conclusion after main.
The food is the best Italian food I’ve ever had! So rich in flavours and their chili in olive oil was fantastic! I ordered pan-fried veal and risotto which were just spot on. And the Tiramisu was so delicious. A highlight of my Tas trip and will definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends.
The Italian food here is pretty good. For the 5 of us, we decided to order a seafood risotto, vegetali fetuccine, fraraccio pizza and chicken calzonne to share. We ended it with a tiramisu, the dessert was just mediocre and I thought the serving was pretty small. Out of all the dishes, I enjoyed the risotto the most!
I’m Italian so I’m always dubious when I’m told about “the best Italian restaurant” in town. Gladly, Da Angelo lived up to it’s reputation.
Located in the popular Battery Point area of the city, the restaurant is lovely from outside.
Unfortunately you walk straight into the takeaway area and there’s a confusion of people and staff coming, going, paying & picking up takeaway food.
On our first attempt with no booking we were turned away.
The next time we booked. You do need to book- they’re popular and busy.
Warm welcome, menus and seated we noted that it really isn’t a very big place.
Good range of menu selections which include all the usual Italian offerings.
Traditional but not predictable which was perfect.
My veal scalloping were as tender and tasty as any I’ve eaten in Italy. My husband really enjoyed his risotto, a little on the firm side but very tasty.
Pace of the night was just right, unhurried. Once we’d finished our wine we ordered dessert both delicious- especially the tiramisu.
Wonderful restaurant. Try it.
Wonderful place to eat. We were craving Italian cuisine and were visiting Hobart two weeks ago. We didn't make a booking however the staff were very accommodating and organised a table for us on the condition we finished prior to their next booking on that table (gave us 1.5hrs), which I felt was very reasonable.
Food was excellent. We all ordered pasta and risotto meals, and I believe the pasta was home made. My partner said it was the best pasta he had ever had.
Would come back here the next time we are in Tassie. .
Beautiful food and a great atmosphere, paired with exceptional customer service as soon as we walked in the door. It’s authentic Italian food, try to get a booking early as we were lucky to squeeze in!
Veronica is hands down the friendliest, most helpful waitress you'll come across. The food was delicious, on a very quaint street with European vibes, and the house was packed! We got pepperoni pizza, fettuccine (can't remember which one), and TIRAMISU. If you are a tiramisu fan, don't miss this home made one. Shout out to you Veronica - keep up that bubbly personality of yours, you'll go really far with it!
Glad I tried this spot before leaving Tassie. Food was amazing, staff very friendly and attentive. Worth every dollar. Definitely will make an effort to come back when in town again! Gnocchi was perfect - can't go wrong! Pizzas packed with flavour and well cooked! Highly reccomend.
It's hard to fault this place. Great authentic Italian food freshly prepared. Great staff who are engaging and knowledgeable. Great atmosphere and a wonderful vibe. Outstanding
My Fav Tasmanian Restaurant. Been going here for 15 years and it hasnt changed. Pizzas and Pastas are exceptional. Must book even Monday nights are booked out and youll rarely get a table if not booked.
Amazing gnocchi, wonderful deserts and great customer service! One of the owners introduced himself and made an effort to ensure we enjoyed our meal! Best Italian we have had! Definitely worth a try! Kid friendly!!!
Authentic, delicious Italian! Great service both takeaway and dining in, short wait times and more than happy to accomodate any requests. Can highly recommend the prawn risotto!
Best pizza place! Atmosphere & service was good too! 😊 and the dessert was so nice! It's like a must go place when visiting Tassie. Went there two nights in a row.
My husband and I chose this place while on our honeymoon based on reviews and it lived up to its high rating. He ordered the special, homemade salmon ravioli in salmon, dill, snap pea and cream sauce. I ordered gluten free penne with chicken, mustard seed, pancetta, sundried tomato and chilli sauce. But of us would have licked the plates clean if we weren't in a public place!! Service was fabulous, the owner came by twice to wish us happy honeymoon and check on us. The place was busy but everyone who worked there looked happy to be there and part of a well-oiled machine of pasta perfection. The pizzas looked divine but we'll save that for next time. We'll definitely be back!!
Great evening out with Deb and Andrew on our trip to Hobart. Friendly and efficient waitstaff had our drinks to us in a flash.
Shared a bruschetta pizza had to be the best pizza base ever.
Main course risotto with fresh seafood enhanced by fresh side of chillies in olive oil - superb.
Finished off with refreshing housemade gelato strawberry vanilla lemon and chocolate.
The celeb photos on the walls are testimony to De Angelia quality.
One to go back to again and again.
My favourite Italian restaurant in Hobart. The pasta and pizza taste so fresh and full of flavour, it is no wonder it gets so packed every night (so book beforehand or get there early before peak hour). They also have take away too! I love all their dishes so try anything and everything (if you can) but definitely order pizza :)
there was a lovely family owned atmosphere. very warm amd welcoming on behalf of all staff and management. food was exactly as it should be. no frills, but excellent quality, and DELICIOUS. would highly recommend.
The picture on the wall attached my eye to come inside the store. However, you need to wait at least 30 mins if you won't be booking before that. The pasta sauce is not that good even weird. Also for the prawn is not been totally fine cook before served. On the other hand, the pizza base is not good enough for a Italian restaurant
We've booked there with my son on our first night in Hobart under the recommandation of locals who looked super thrilled about this place.
So we obvioulsy went there with high expectations.
Lets say that it's maybe because we are europeans but to us, everything was really average foodwise.
Thanks to the staff that saved the day.
Is Da Angelo still meeting the standards of its own reputation ?
Amazing Italian food, had my dinner of garlic bread, creamy tomato chicken pasta and jalapeno calzone. Fast service which was good. Pricing was reasonable. Lovely dinner spot!
My husband and I have a dinner here, tas lamb and risotto. Just fabulous and delicious! The waitress is really friendly and chief is nice. Strongly recommend you here!
After a long exhausting flight from Perth to Hobart ,I decided to order takeaway pizza from this small Italian restaurant in historic battery point a short walk from my hotel.i ordered a small pepperoni pizza. There were long queues on a Friday evening .The pizza was absolutely fantastic . The toppings were tasty and generous and the pizza base chewy and unctuous.i would love to dine in but the place was heavily booked and I was in Hobart for an all too brief sojourn.
I was quite fortunate to have hit Ristorante Da Angelo on our penultimate day in Battery Point, and in Hobart, and in Tasmania. It was one of the food-based highlights of the trip with top-notch pizza and a fab dessert. Ooh, almost best-ever pizza level good. It was a rainy evening that stirring night and I was still hungry so decided to venture into the ocean for a final pick me up treat. I was choosing since I was getting it so screw you Joey it’s Hawaiian this time.
Very nice and authentic Italian food. Love the pesto chicken risotto & pepperoni pizza... Friendly service and great food. Recommended!!!!!!!!
Visiting down from Melbourne and was craving some good Italian - and thats exactly what we got!!
Epic pizzas with the perfect base and crust, rich and fresh pasta sauces with in house made pasta and excellent service with smiles all round 😊
Its no surprise Da Angelo's has been around for over 20 years 😊 look forward to coming back and will be recommending this one to anybody visiting hobart.
A place I will always hold dear to my heart..first restaurant I've ever been to in Tasmania..still the same warm welcoming friendly staff...and the price is definitely worth the portion as well as the quality of the food...definitely a must try for anyone that visits Hobart
Very good service, friendly and attentive. Food also very good. Pizzas a little more Aussie style than expected. Pasta excellent . Very good servings of seafood in dishes. Minestrone soup was a hearty feed. Great atmosphere with table visits by the owner . Well worth the visit .
Amazing pizza and pasta, espresso martini was average. Proprietor and waitress were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back. 4.5
We'd heard that Ristorante Da Angelo was something of a Hobart institution so we thought we'd give it a try on a recent visit. Down stairs was a a bit of a warren of smaller interconnected rooms, including a front waiting/bar area bedecked in photo's of clients, including a few well known faces. We were upstairs, in an area which a couple of groups and a few smaller tables ate while we were there. The décor certainly supported the idea that they had been open for a while!
the reason for the high score is simple; superbly executed food. nothing fancy and in all honesty the menu as a physical document is a shocker. but its the food that stars, this food is tested, consistent and beautifully flavoured, feather light gnocchi, balanced creamy pasta sauces and perfectly...
The meals were delicious! So full of flavour and good value for money.. We tried the beef ravioli and the chicken sienna.. We couldn't pick a favourite..
It was a very lovely dinner and would have to be one of the best Italian restaurants around..
Absolutely sensational. Visiting Hobart, my wife and I had dinner tonight at Da Angelo and were absolutely delighted by the brilliant service, welcoming and attentive atmosphere and excellent food. I recommend it highly and we will return on future trips to Hobart.
Firstly and most importantly the service was excellent, nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the owner even came around and asked us how the meal was. You can have your pasta cooked in all different styles, the pasta was al dente, with a good authentic flavour. You can save money by ordering the same meals for take away if you want to eat by the harbour. Also opened late most nights, especially after 9pm when most places stop serving dinner. Highly recommended
I cant flaw this restaurant, prefect in every way. We dined there in our first night in Hobart and had a wonderful time, the owner was such a great person and his employees even better. They gave us tips on your sightseeing around tassie and they were spot on, on how beautiful the food and scenery was. Ill be back for sure!!
Clearly a local favourite. We came for the great reviews and stayed for the soft pillowy cloud like gnocchi. They let you mix and match any sauce with their home made pasta. So good! We also had the garlic pizza - delicious. Service was great. Not much more you can ask for!
Phenomenal food. Amazing pastas and superb pizzas...
Had the Parmie (can't go past a parmie). Was very nice. One member on the table had to wait an hour and a half for his pizza (no charge in the end for his pizza). Service was good. Staff treated the children very well. Would definitely return for another meal. Maybe a pizza next time.
Visited Da Angelo with a interstate work colleague on Sunday night, Da Angelo's has become a favourite of our companies employees for dinner and again they didn't disappoint, even though it was a Sunday they appeared to have a full compliment of staff, our waitress was enthusiastic and attentive and her choice of wines was spot on, the food, as always, was exactly right. All in all another enjoyable night at D A's This restaurant continues to deliver!!
Took 12 years of living in Hobart to finally have dinner here. Didn't wait so long for the second time. Excellent food. The Nona's gnocchi is to die for. Like heavenly clouds. Lively atmosphere and great service.
Perfect food, perfect staff, perfect atmosphere! Love every single time I come here. Last time I went I ordered the vegetali fettucine with creamy tomato sauce. Omg amazing!!
A hidden gem. When visiting Hobart, make sure you head to Battery Point and visit Angelo and Marco and their friendly staff. We went here after a long day trip to Port Arthur. We were greeted by friendly staff who managed to find us a table on a very busy night. I highly recommend Nicolina’s Special and the garlic bread made with housemade bread is a must.
Ate dinner here twice in a row it was that great! Service was brilliant and the food left us speechless at the table - the flavours and the freshness of the ingredients made it a restaurant hard to overlook. Do yourself a favour and choose the pasta dishes - homemade and you can taste it! D'Angelo's is definitely quality over costs and you can taste it!
De Perfecto. Amazing. I visited two nights in a row just so I was able to experience the pizza then the pasta. I encourage you all to visit this exceptional restaurant.
This place is a true reflection of a trational Italian family eatery. Homemade pasta to die for, meals that are made to enjoy & deserts that are refreshing. Staff that are attentive & helpful. An owner who cares about his staff & customers. If you miss out on this one you are a fool !
Always a winner. Friendly staff, reasonable prices and absolutely delicious food. Wish they would open a franchise on the mainland!
NOT DISSAPOINTED!. We ate here tonight. I had heard from others that this is the best Italian restaurant in Hobart. We were not disappointed. We had a delicious meal, far too much eaten. Great friendly and efficient service from Genevieve our waitress. Started with delicious garlic bread. I had a seafood fettucini with garlic and butter sauce. VERY nice and full of flavour. Evelyn had a fettucini with mushrooms, onions and a few other "vegie" items with a Napoli sauce. Also really good. We shared some steamed and buttered greens. I had a truly delicious and, thankfully, traditional creme brûlée with pistachio ice cream.
I thoroughly recommend this family owned and run restaurant. We will return next year.
Fabulous authentic Italian food, nice range of wines including Italian varieties, and excellent service from very attentive staff including Angelo himself. Thank you!
Really very very good!. We arrived at the front door of this delightful stone house/italian restaurant which is, i understand an institution in Hobart. We are visitors to the city and decided to try it, mainly because we are suckers for homemade pasta.
We are shown upstairs and given a seat at a window from which we can see the water and lights of this small city. Again delightful. Maria is our waitress and she was helpful, efficient, friendly and sweet natured as we had a couple of questions and she needed to go up and down the stairs to find the answers. Nothing was too much trouble and she was genuinely concerned about our enjoyment and experience of the meal.
I had two glasses of Bay of Fires champagne, a cinch at $8.50 a glass. I enjoyed garlic bread (homemade) slightly chewy and suitably buttery, delicious. My partner enjoyed a rich chicken zuppa. So far so good. I ordered spaghetti marinara with tasmanian scallops, fish and prawns, and she had the spinach gnochhi with bolognase sauce, we both sat back very very satisfied. We managed to finish with a tiramasu to share and agreed it was the best ever! We can see why this place is a Hobart institution. Really really good, thank you Maria.
My partner and I ate here tonight after reading reviews on urban spoon and trip advisor. This is a really great restaurant which deserves it's place as no 1 in Hobart. The service was fabulous and so friendly. The bruschetta was the best I've eaten and the gnocchi which was homemade by Nonna was superb. My partner had the Nicolina pasta which was seafood with spaghetti. He said it was great. We both had 2 glasses of wine and the house white did not disappoint. We will Definately come back next time we are in Hobart.
Yummo!!!. This restaurant def' worth a visit. Over from Melb for a holiday. As it was a Thurs night we decided to chance it - the place was packed and jumping so obviously very popular. From the start we were made to feel welcome and the waitress apologised that the only seats free were those in the window (which was fine by us) I had the lasagne which I always think is a good indication of how good an Italian restaurant is - it was yummy and the serving huge! My husband had the fettuccine carbonara which was also very good. A small pizza and salad completed the meal. Managed to force down most of the lasagne as I hated to waste it.. The owner came and chatted to us and once again apologised for the seating (all cool of course) Also offered us some free bread and at the end of the meal glasses of Limoncello - which was very kind and appreciated. All in all a great find - I wish we lived in Tassie and could visit regularly - I would love to wend my way through the menu!! Don't hesitate to come here - friendly and welcoming owner and staff and great food. Lucky locals ! I am very jealous of you!!

Great Food. This is a real find! Good service and relaxed surroundings but most importantly great food. It seems others agree as well - it's popular even on a week night. The hardest decision is whether to go for pizza or pasta. Maybe both!

Minestrone is to die for. What a great restaurant. Highly recommend it
Best Italian in hobart. One of the best italian food I had in a long time. Great service and the food was amazing. The owner is really friendly. I would highly recommend it to everyone to try this place.
BEAUTIFUL :). Love this place , pizza and pasta are fresh and beautifully cooked with quality ingrediants , staff friendly and polite , decor is comfortable and warm , would highly recommended this place :)
Ristorante Da Angelo was spectacular! The food was to die for (we had the daily specials) and the service was wonderful. Angelo made us feel super welcome and our waitress was professional and warm. Best Italian we've eaten in Australia.
Best Italian i have had i Years. My Wife and i visited Hobart with one thing in mind, go to a great Italian restaraunt, and we hit the jackpot with Da Angelo's! Book early as they are very popular. We dined there on a Friday and were lucky enough to call early Fri and secured a 930pm reservation.
It was woirth the wait, the waitress was attentive, the owner remembered us booking and it felt like dining with friends. We started with Gourmet Chicken and Brie Pizza, and it was wonderful.
The Veal Con Pepe and Chicken Toscana we had for main was fresh, tasty and again, wonderful. We will eat here again on our next trip to Hobart!
Wonderful. Had dinner in a group of 6 on a Saturday night. The restaurant was full but the service was excellent. Everyone's meals were superb and amongst the best Italian we had eaten. Had a great night. Would definitely recommend.
We had a fantastic dinner here - garlic pizza, veal, risotto and profiteroles. The food was excellent, as was the service. Our waitress was delightful and this just added to the overall experience.
Prefer it to most restsurants in Lygon st, Melbourne. People in the kitchen know what they are doing. Bravo.
Best ever. Cannot fault, the staff, food, service and atmosphere are all exceptional. Why this restaurant only rates 92% is beyond me. I cannot wait to return to Tasmania to eat here again. Tassie you have a gem with this place.
Delicious. We were hoping to sit down for dinner but they were too booked out so we got take away. Probably the best Italian food we've ever had. Highly recommended ;)
Service brilliant. Food just lovely.
Friendly slick service and good simple food. A real find for us tourists.
Best italian restaurant i have tasted .. Love the pizzas !! Everything is so perfect .. Highly recommend this place
So good we had to go back. The food is yummy in the most comforting home-cooked way. Service was impeccable. Super freindly, attentive and personal; prompt but not pushy at all. You can usually tell how good a restaurant is by how packed with locals it is even on a weeknight. We had such a good experience that we made a booking two nights after.
My mom and I visited here whilst visiting Hobart. When you firat arrive, you may think it is only a take-away.place. But as we were ushered into the back, we immediately felt the warm homey atmosphere helped by the extremely friendly staff. We each had a home-style pasta dish which was delicious.
All Melbourne waiters should be sent here to learn what the word 'service' means. They were fantastic, warm, welcoming, friendly and attentive. The food we had was all nice, the Nonna made gnocchi melts just the way you expect and the ravioli was just right. This is not fine dining, it's just good quality family style food.
Was visiting from Melbourne and my hotel was close to Da Angelo's, went there for lunch OMG absolutely beautiful food, the staff were so friendly and helpful! The desert was incredible so before I was leaving Tasmania I went there just for dessert! The cheesecake and pistachio ice-cream is a must try!! Def going to visit again when I go back to tassie!
Went on a Sunday night. Very busy especially as many restaurants not open. Friendly, warm service. Pasta wa fresh. Sauces a little too heavy and creamy for me but overall generous servings with a nice feel.
Dinner. Group dinner here was fantastic. Had pizza, risotto, gnocchi, pasta, garlic bread- all was v tasty. Pizza dough was unique- airy, and fluffy- v different from the commercial pizzas. Good service. reasonable price. would come here again.
Absolutely delicious! Started off with bruschetta, garlic bread an garliz pizza which unexpectadly nearly stole the show! Next we had the chicken risotto-delish! Margarita pizza, chicken and brie pizza, lasagne and a prawn spagetti special! Everyone couldnt finish the generous delicious portions but most of us made it fit!! And we had to make room for dessert pistachio ice cream creme brulee and tiramasu! Yum yum yum was visiting from brisbane but feel like cuming bak just for the delicious meal :)
This place is nice! The food is quite tasty!! Angelo's mum still makes all the pasta and pizza dough from scratch, how amazing. Service was very good. The only negative I would say is the price to plate size ratio (for my plate anyway) but it fills you up anyway.
Tasmania's best pizza. These guys take their pizza very seriously. Restaurant full at 6pm on a wednesday, glad I was only after a take out to eat in my hotel room. Awesome tasting pizza, but possibly errs on the side of too much toppings. Impressed, I will defintely be back to try some pasta next time. Oh, and the staff are very friendly.
Well done again. Just perfection in every sense of the word. We holiday in Tasmania 3 times a year and we have dined here 3 times, and on every occasion the whole experience has been 1st class. Mel and Ian.
The seafood risotto and Nicolina's Special with ravioli were amazing! Possibly one of the best risotto's I've had. Gotta love the friendly service too. Fantastic experience!
Really tasty food. I had the Gnocchi, which came in a good size and had a tasty sauce to go with it. For dessert I had a Crème Brûlée, which was likewise delicious. They also had a wide selection of wines. Prices were reasonable too.
I would advise booking in advance for this place as it was very popular, and I was lucky to get a booth seat. Takeaway is also an option here.

I'd read read the gnocchi was made fresh everyday and once I told the others I was dining with all 6 of us decided to try it. It was amazing, with a lovely light fluffy texture. Although feeling pretty full we all had dessert which was fantastic too! The iced Marsala cheesecake is a highlight. Service was friendly, efficient and professional. All round a great night out!
SENSATIONAL!!! Was told to try and gets booking here when I came to Tasmania and I am glad I did. The pasta is as good as you will get anywhere, being from Melbourne this is a big compliment. I had the natural basillicata with chilli added and it was perfect! The pizza was also outstanding and the service is as good as you get anywhere. Overall this was a dining experience I could not have been more impressed with, so good that I tried to book for the following night again!
Amazing food, really amazing, price is more 25-35
Best pizza ever. Amazing service. We didn't realise the margherita came with ham and they happily replaced it. Highly recommended.
Chicken Toscana was delicious. Good portion sizes. Good service. We were a table of 9 and they remembered what each person had ordered.
Good honest Italian food. I ordered Atlantic Salmon Ravioli and it was fantastic. The service was flawless. I wish there was something like this in Melbourne
Always good. I love this place. The atmosphere is nothing special but the food is always excellent, great pasta and the best cheese & garlic pizza I've had (a staple amongst this home-style pizzeria place, but rarely done well). I ty to visit whenever in Hobart.
Consistently good food!. Da Angelo is forever busy no matter what day of the week, and I think is all because of their correct formula - great food, service, and efficient!
Prawn Calzoni is a must try, I can't seem to go past this for most of my visit! Another is the sticky date pudding for desert, just perfect. Overall their pastas and pizzas are just fantastic!
Staff are friendly and always a welcoming place, that is why I visit on all my work trips to TAS, despite the many restaurants in Hobart!

Ristorante Da Angelo is a family owned and operated business that has been around for many years. This result doesn't just happen either - they must be doing a lot of things right! The use of tried and proven family recipes passed down from other generations is a nice touch as well.
Had a wonder dinner at Da Angelo Ristorante ! The food was absolutely delicious in always possible! The portions where perfect and the taste was incredible! The staff where also extremely friendly and welcoming! It also we incredibly reasonably priced considering the amount of food we had! Overall it was an excellent experience and can highly recommend trying! It’s a 5 out 5 stars from me :)))
Very friendly environment, both the owner and the waitresses staff. We ordered a pizza sweet chilly chicken and the scallopine veal main with tomato sauce. Pizza had delicious crunchy crust & veal very tender. Tomato sauce has some room for improvement but tasted good, friends who tried this with the creme option said it tasted amazing. Would definitely go there again when in Hobart
Highly recommended. Food was on point We had two pizzas to share. It didn't disappoint. Mains were Nicolina's special with succulent prawns in a tasty Napoliteana sauce, gnocchi in a pesto sauce, Fettuccine with De Casa sauce and Fettuccine in carbonara sauce. Service was excellent and highly attentive. Our waitress was super friendly and warm. We felt like old friends. A wonderful first meal on our first day in Hobart. Would love to return.
Always the best Italian restaurant in Hobart. Pasta was delicious enough and pizzas were the best. Highly recommend!!!
Da Angelo was everything the raving reviews on all rating websites lived out to be. Fantastic hospitality, lively atmosphere but not too loud where you can't hear each other, and obviously the food was just brilliant. Kicking myself for not having the stomach space for dessert, if I ever visit Hobart again I will without hesitation visit again. Thank you guys!
I'm not a huge fan of Italian food usually, but my gnocchi here was great. We went later on a Sunday night, but the place was still buzzing. It is definitely very popular, so recommend booking. The service was friendly and wait times were appropriate. Recommend the gnocchi - it was up there with the best gnocchi I've had.
The best Italian restaurant in my heart, every time I come, they give me the satisfaction with their food. Nice and friendly staffs as well, definitely will recommend this restaurant to everyone.
This place is freaking amazing. Food is on point. We had the Marinara gnocchi, beef lagsana, Italian Classico pizza and Vanilla bean panna cotta. The gnocchi is soft and delicate and the panna cotta melts in your mouth. The lady (she was wearing glasses and a striped T-shirt) who served us was the NICEST. She is soooo friendly and sincere. She was genuinely happy that we enjoyed our food. She is definitely a highlight of our experience there too. This is our final dinner before flying back to Singapore. Thank you for the amazing experience and for concluding our honeymoon on such a wonderful note.
