Beautiful pub in Hobart! Over for a short time from Perth and have come along for two Blues Club nights at The Duke; the food is absolutely amazing with big servings at a super reasonable price. Service is quick, friendly and personal, and the blues music has been superb every time. Would definitely recommend heading here on a night out!
I love this place. Doug and Kartika are wonderful hosts, lots of groovy live music throughout the week; good range of drinks, well priced and great food, including wood fired pizza's. if you play your cards right special things happen :-)
Had the best meal here a few weeks ago. It was the Florentine pizza. Best pizza in the world. You must order that. Staff were lovely and attentive. Enjoyable dinner, we love coming here :)
Haven driven by a dozen times, always thinking that place seems cool, ill check it out some time. I wish I hadn't waited, I regret that very much. I had some prejudgments as to what it would be like, and thought it would be an experience. The Duke impressed me in every category, diverse menu, quality local ingredients, and good food, for me tho getting to know the staff and ownership is something that will stay with me. I experienced such kindness, and genuine caring that will always stay with me forever. The food is great, accommodating menu, good music, I don't have a negative thing to say. I wish I could stop in for a pint right now.
A great central pub/ restaurant with a diverse enticing menu and an excellent range of beer and wine. Definitely punching above its weight The Duke is a real winner.
Picked this place out for lunch as we wandered past. Reviews we'd read previously were good. Really friendly staff on entrance. Warm and inviting atmosphere. Clean dining and bar areas. Huge serves for the price ($12 & $18 respectively). The Duke Club sandwich was fantastic; whatever they put on...
New Years Eve Dinner. Just a stroll down to the new years eve fireworks, good food, good location. Friendly service. Great night. Big Thanks to the @ Duke staff for their service and hospitality. Blessings in the new year. Chris and Tracy.
Went for lunch as a group of four, amazing food, great beer. Don't have a single bad thing to say
Brilliant pub food. No complaints. Aussie food at its best.
Randomly chose this place during our last night in Hobart. What an awesome choice. Great wood fired pizza, friendly attentive staff and bonus being here in the 1st Tues of the month for their Blues night!! Win, win, win all round!!
Had dinner here last night, and was really happy with the meal. The wait staff were super friendly, professional, and knowledgable. I ordered the lamb rack, which was perfectly cooked medium rare. Served with a delish pumpkin mash and roasted onions, it was really hearty and great value. Will be back :)
Fantastic pub, lovely decor and warm and cosy. The gentleman serving and hosting was very friendly and accommodating as we arrived for a late lunch at 2:40pm on a Wednesday. Kitchen was almost shut and they cooked for us anyway. Such a shame we were passing through as this is would be a loyal pub to any local.
Really lovely pub. Friendly staff and great menu. The salmon salad and marinara pasta were thumbs up. Band playing on Friday night was good for the atmosphere.
Originally we planned to go to a restaurant opposite but it was closed. So we chose The Duke. My wife got a swagman pizza and myself the lamb. Both were amazing. The food was fantastic and the service both quick and friendly. Definitely can recommend :)
Amazing vegan friendly restaurant. Everything is just what I expect. 😍 Lovely service, nice food and drinks. Good vibe. 10/10. Recommended!
What a wonderful welcoming atmosphere! Live music was perfect loved the sax playing mostly lol but the whole band was awesome :) The staff most welcoming checking constantly but not to constant that we were comfortable and had everything we needed, great smiles :) The food was delicious oh yeah steak cooked to perfection, chicken superb! I had a few cocktails this night Mmm they were yummy hehe The publicans were the nicest most welcoming folk who entertained us all night a lovely place to be on a cold Saturday night in Hobart town! Do drop in support the locals we will return.
I had the Surf'N'Turf here, it definitely blew my expectations away, steak was cooked perfectly to order, the sauce was delicious, no complaints, definitely recommend! Staff were also extremely friendly which is a bonus!
Had dinner here tonight, spectacular food not like your regular pub grub dripping with oil. The food tasted delicious, the chicken was well done and the veg was amazing. Customer service was excellent, we were served by a man named Doug and had a great chat, lots of local knowledge about the best places to visit in Tassie. If your in the area I would definitely recommend stopping by for a bite.
Awesome meal and great service. Doug and his wife made us feel at home and we spoke as if we were long time friends.
Great food and lovely service by the waitress, Bella who served me. Would definitely go back again if I’m down in Tassie.
The food was quick to be served and fresh. Such a cozy space too
Great food, well priced, friendly and warm atmosphere.
No pokies/gaming machines.
Wood fired pizzas.
Had 2 mains, entree and 4 drinks for around $100.
The Duke of Wellington Hotel is also the Hobart Blues Club, so they regularly have live music too.
