The food and wine were excellent. The staff friendly and I would definitely eat here again
Great venue only had a cheese platter & glass of wine will definitely return!
One of my Fave spots in Hobart. Great food wine and staff. Keep it up.
Tapas amazing! Wine list great - food was delicious.....every dish
Wonderful place to catchup with friends. Warm, great music and lovely atmosphere. Had a ball!
Food great reasonable prices and atmosphere warm and inviting
Music also was great
Great selection of wine, whisky and beer, in a good location across from the waterfront.
Great food, amazing atmosphere and awesome customer service! We will definitely be back when we are in Tassie again 😀
Stubbled across Grape on our hunt to dinner, great wine bar with tapas. Good wine selection and mocktail for me. Tapas we got oysters, fried chicken, bruschetta & they grain salad. All very tasty. Service was good friendly & quick & the atmosphere was great sitting outside lots of people watching.
Located in the Salamanca market area of Hobart, we found refuge from the rain.
Lovely atmosphere, well stocked with a good range of options.
Bar service. Order, pay and carry your own drinks.....
Background music was ok.
We didn’t eat but they offer the usual tapas type of bar food that goes well with a drink or two.
We have made a point of visiting Grape whenever we are in Hobart and over the years it has proved consistent with a great selection of wines and happy knowledgeable staff. Still busy which is always a good sign. The only downside, although not a detraction from visiting, is the meals quality appears to have slipped although there is a good selection to choose from.
Chicken burger was excellent - the conservative amount of chili jam added just the right amount of zing. And the chips, oh, the chips! So tasty! Perfectly cooked! Needless to say, I cleaned my plate, and although I was very full afterwards, I was still a little sad to have finished.
The wine list is comprehensive and the inclusion of tasting notes takes the guessing game away and make this place a joy to drink.
They stuffed up our order but were very obliging in a free round of drinks. That's how it should be. Nice work!
Lamb pizza was the bomb. Shoe string fries with aioli were nomable. Cheese croquettes were rude; oral joy!
Awesome. Had the best seafood platter from here :) which included Fresh smoked salmon,3 oysters Kilpatrick, pickled octopus, garlic butter prawns, battered fish, lightly crumbed calamari served with beer batted chips and fresh bread with 2 dips for $38 :) beautiful presentation and great sevice, friendly and helpful, drinks selection is large and unique, very good vibe and location, wld highly recommended this place, enjoy :)
Wine & beer focus with good food. Dropped in last year and we loved the extensive wine list (& bottles to view in the reo wire on the walls) and we noticed some specials that required 24hrs advance ordering so we ordered a 3hrslow cooked chicken dish and came back the following night. It felt a bit different sitting at one end of a large table on a Tues night in what is more a bar than a restaurant on a quiet night but the food was superb (so much so that I now have my own recipe for slow cooked chicken with truffles & butter under the skin. Yum. To make matters better the wine list was substantial and I could pick a 10yo reisling for not much.
Amazing food, great atmosphere on the waterfront. Fantastic setting, great tap beers and perfect food! Will be back
Grape is Great. I love Grape, especially the dreamy bar tender, I think they call him PJ or the King or something like that..
Long live the King!
Casual and tasty. Called in here, and was impressed with the wine selection, they have a wall of wine !
Tapas was very good, and between two people 5 plates was plenty all very nice.
A nice spot well worth a visit, also reasonable too.
Just visiting tassie walked by and popped in. Great atmosphere, good food and great range of drinks. The barman was very helpful and gave us a list of good restaurants to try while in tassie. And you can run a tab as well if planning on staying a while.
Stopped in for dinner. Delicious. So delicious. For dinner my bf and I had the antipasti plate which was huge, prawns in butter sauce, chorizo with white beans, pot chicken and feta fritters. The feta fritters came with an amazing pomegranate malaise.
The prawns were my fav, for my bf the chorizo was the fav.
Highly recommend.
Great find. Stumbled across this great wine bar on a recent holiday to Hobart. How can you go wrong with great wine & tapas. Loved the atmosphere of this place & the staff were friendly & attentive. Loved this place so much we ate there on three occasions.
What a find!. This is a gem among the Salamanca Place eateries. On a trip this month we even met a couple who travel regularly from Melbourne just to soak up the atmosphere and visit again the fantastic menu and wine selection. Tapas done like few others in Australia. One of the best
Pleasant experience. The staff were friendly and the place has an overall casual vibe. Love the wide spaces. The food looks better than it tastes but it was still good. The pumpkin pizza was a nice surprise and the Tassie Sauv Blanc was good too.
Great worth visiting good tapas the sav blanc was excellent
Great beer and wine. Not the best tapas I had in Hobart but still beautiful food and would recommend it!
Great wine list, we had a selection of tapas that were for the most part good. Wish there were a couple of salads on the menu to break up the meats and carbs. But otherwise pretty good
This has become our home away from home whilst visiting MONA FOMA. A fantastic selection of Tasmanian and European wine by the glass - interesting, diverse ad well maintained selection. Knowledgeable staff, good food and a choice of outside (to be seen) or inside (dark and quiet) seating. A really good wine bar. Highly recommended.
Yeah, like most people have said, the service is Z bit ordinary, bug the tapas is great, wine by the glass is extensive and s nicd place to eat on your own on a business trip. All up it's not bad.
Amazing!. On a recent trip to Tassie we came to Grape a total of 3 times - once for drinks, once for dinner and once for lunch! All on occasions staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and the wine selection was varied and great value and the food was to die for!!! The food is tapas inspired so be prepared to share. While not huge, the menu has a great selection - I loved the chorizo and pork belly pizza, the oysters and the lamb. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxed place to eat, with amazing food and wine to boot.
Great wine list and tapas...try the prosciutto croquets!
Very busy Saturday night and kitchen a bit slow but we were warned about it. Next night went back for drinks and they even remembered what wine we had the night before. Food good and staff impressive. Recommended
Excellent wine list. Love the concept of browsing the wine racks around the venue to find your tipple or have the staff recommend for you, choice of high top wooden benches or comfy couches are a welcome relief if you've been doing it hard at the market. The staff are incredibly obliging considering that whilst we were there tourists would walk in & ask for directions to various sites around town. Most certainly will return to Grape Bar & Tapas when next in town
Great spot with awesome selection of wine and snacks, and really good music to set a laid back vibe.
The atmosphere and decor was amazing especially the cork filled bar!! Service was awesome, all staff were friendly and helpful!! We had the red wine jus and kilpatrick oysters as well as the prawn pizza and chorizo and pork belly pizza, all were delicious. Definetly a must visit when in Hobart, two thumbs up!
"Cellar in Salamanca" Your eyes will be wide open on entry: With low beam ceilings, all walls lined with a staggering selection of wines, industrial style furniture, good live music in the back ground, with a menu that will challenge your palette, creating an inviting, relaxing wine cellar ambience. We ate Tapas style. With Tasmanian Wines, all very enjoyable. A Chartley Estate, Black Crow Pinot Noir, 10 Rowella Tas. Kleglinger Brut De Blances, 03 Piper Brook. Acompaning, Braised prawns with cafe de Paris butter 14 month aged Jamon w slow cooked peaches. Oyster asst, red wine & shallot vinaigrette, minced onion & smoked fish dressing. Rye bread, pancetta, whiskey, & Worcestershire. Cauliflower kofta w cumin, mint & yoghurt BBQ lamb w zhug & Lanka Chopped quail, almond, fennel & artichoke, accompanied by a beautiful chardonnay, Apsley Gorge, 08 Bicheno Tas. The finale, Roast pear filled w amoretti & icecream. Spanish donuts with chocolate sauce & icecream. With Frogmore Iced Riesling 08 Coal River Valley. All excellently prepared and presented, totally delicious. The service on arrival through to departure was faultless. This is a world class Tapas, Wine Bar, dining experience. Highly recommended.
