Shop is full of delightful creations of the sweet kind. The cabinets are full of pastries, cakes, tarts, cupcakes, macaroons, savoury items, and cookies. Making a decision was a bit tricky and the lovely lady behind the counter helped explain what was in each treat so made my job a lot easier. I went with the Uber Tart. It had a lime mousse inside topped with meringue and berries. It was a bit sweet but the lime helped cut through some of that. the pastry was nice and short. My friend had Joy’s Prickly Box Cupcake. He said it tasted nice but may be too much buttercream for his liking.

What a magical place! The staff are mega friendly and the cakes are divine! Everything looked so good that we wanted one of each. We tried macarons, cookies, cupcakes and icecream and all of it was delicious. We were staying nearby so we visited a couple of times. Definitely a must when in North Hobart.

Cute little sweet shop we discovered on our walk from North Hobart into the town centre.

We stopped for sorbet to cool ourselves down after our walk. We got strawberry and myer lemon sorbet and Darth Vader chocolate sorbet. Both were delicious.

Old fashioned bakery with a good variety of sweet treats! I spent ages deciding on a couple of things to buy because it all looked so good. In the end went for a Raspberry Surprise cupcake and a hot cross bun. The cupcake was 10/10! The hot cross bun was yummy too, however it seemed a little stale and we weren’t asked if we wanted it to be heated up, resulting in it being a little dry. Coffee was pretty good too.

Went to Sweet Envy's SideShow in Salamanca. Had a pain du chocolat, almond croissant and pecan salted caramel thing. All of the things were just okay and compared to the high score it was a bit disappointing. Couldn't convince me.

Walk into Sweet Envy and you're guaranteed to feel like a kid in a candy store. This pastry shop and cafe is a throw back to all your childhood favourites, all handmade with textbook finesse. That includes the Tim Tam reinvented as the Mit Mat, and the Ro-Vo, a spin-off of the iced Vo-Vo. Classically trained pastry chef Alistair Wise is the mind behind the madness, a Hobart local who worked at Circa, The Prince in Melbourne, before working for Gordon Ramsay in London and New York.

So many treats so little time. Coffee is ok. Seating is very limited. This is fine when focusing on customers taking away, but I would love to be able sit and enjoy my dessert and coffee. Service has been excellent each visit to date.

Delicious cakes. Super sweet - almost too sweet, hence not a top score. If suggest sharing the richer items in their display.

Though I haven't tried it. They have a cupcake challenge, with some funny photos on display of previous winners. Worth a look.

A-m-a-z-i-n-g. Having recently moved here from Melbourne and being introduced to Sweet Envy by a Hobartian friend - I can now call myself a SWEET ENVY addict. As is my sister who up until our recent visit to Sweet Envy, on her trip down from Melb, had never eaten a macaroon and I can now safely say she will be always on the hunt for a macaroon wherever she is! Even the coffee here is delish!!

Never disappointed!. I am from Melbourne but often in Hobart for weekend trips. Sweet envy is an absolute must every time we visit - how can you go past two world class pastry chefs (Alistair worked for Gordon Ramsay's). I am a complete foodie through and through, I have never been disappointed here. The staff are friendly, the sweets and savory items are always fabulous along with the ice-cream (they will give you tastes). I am very fussy with how I have my hot chocolates and sweet envy now knows how I like them - to perfection. If your from Tassie or you're traveling you must not miss out on visiting Sweet Envy - go with room in your tummy and be prepared for an amazing sweet experience. (Alistair and Teena are always coming up with new creations, most treats are original)

I saw Sweet Envy on a "best ice cream/gelato" in Australia list, and I promptly added it to my itinerary. Some flavours had sold out by the time we got there. But the "burnt honey" flavour immediately caught my attention. The consistency of the ice-cream here is very thick and smooth. The burnt honey was divine!

There was simply TOO much to choose from! Ranging from their freshly made savoury sandwiches through to their cupcakes, cakes, macarons, cookies and how could I forget the ice-cream!

We tried the pecan pie, lemon curd tart and caramelised apple tart. The pecan pie didn't excite us too much, it was a little bland, but the other two tarts were utterly delicious. 0 comments: Post a Comment Newer Post Older Post Home Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom)

We ordered our wedding cake from Sweet Envy, and could not have been more thrilled. It was exactly what we asked for... A simple design, fresh flowers, and very delicious flavours. The orange cake inside was exceptionally moist and had a lovely flavour. The buttercream was not too sweet either, which complemented the cake well. Our guests were very happy. On top of a great cake, the service of the owners was faultless. Their kindness and attention to detail really helped us have a seamless experience. I hope to pop back in for a coffee and a treat very soon!

Upon arrival at Hobart International Airport, we have been picked up by our lovely dad. He is craving for coffee and so do us. Dad suggested somewhere in Hobart CBD, but I made a request to go somewhere quiet and close to our grandma house, North Hobart. While searching around for a café, Sweet Envy Café catches my attention. Uniquely decorated and beautiful place to sit down for coffee with cake, pastry, and cookies. Coffee is good and cookies and layers we had are superbly delicious. All of us agreed to give 2 thumbs up. Friendly owner told us how he starts the business and his passion to serve food and beverage with love. That is the reason everyone should pay a visit to this small café. We need to support local business. He made everything from scratch. Quality – 5 stars Services – 5 stars Price – 5 stars
