Had a coffee with toasted slice of banana bread and cinnamon toast both with butter. They were yummy, coffee was fresh and hot. Prices very reasonable for a city cafe. Great service the gentleman made suggestions and helped me decide, he was smiling, patient and friendly. I couldn't ask for anything more.

I had an awful experience at this cafe today. I politely queried my bill when it came to pay as it was a little more than I was expecting. The business owner told me in a raised voice that I was charged extra because I’d asked for tomato on my toastie and surely I didn’t expect him run a business where customers expected free tomato when he had to source it. I was courteous at all times and simply asked for a break-down of my bill - the way that I was treated was unnecessarily rude and and aggressive. I am never going back to this establishment and I’ll be telling all of my friends to steer clear as well.

My absolute favourite lunch spot in Hobart. Service is quick and personable, the owner always remembers me and says hello. I love the lunch specials and always make time for lunch with a friend when I see gnocchi on the menu!

The owner is not a nice man. He kept coming over and checking how far I was into my coffee and then told me I needed to leave because "they were going to get busy for lunch." No joke there were 7 other tables open and I'd been there for 20-30 minutes. I should have known better. A friend told me how one time he yelled at him for standing outside the cafe window while my friend was waiting for the library to open. I will definitely get my coffee elsewhere when I go to the library. There are lots of other cafes around.

While waiting for my order owner instructed a man to leave his store very rudely as he had walked in already holding a coffee cup from another store. Fair request but could have been handled in a much more friendly manner. Situation was uncomfortable and we left feeling quite awkward.. Have experienced good service there previously, however have chosen not to return as I am more often than not dissatisfied in my experience.

Good affordable coffee, but the manager is not very friendly. Made my partner feel very uncomfortable when he asked her to put her packed lunch away. In some ways fair enough, but there is a right and wrong way to go about things.
Plenty of other cafe options in Hobart so I doubt we'll go back.
