Review Kammadhenu - Homebush

good place to have Lankan or south Indian cuisine. Food is good and delicious. However north Indian dishes are not up to the mark. If you love extra spicy food, not a place to request for the same as by extra spicy they mean hell lot of red chilly which kills all other flavors of the dish. Service is satisfactory. Location is a little inconvenient in case you do not have your own vehicle. staff is courteous and helpful. Prices are reasonable as well.

Eaten here before. Order takaway is quicker. Been coming here for years. Best spicy authentic meals and curries. Rotti is good. Spicy Eggplant dish is awesome. Dry lamb curries are spicy but yummy. Lassi is good. Great quality, decent prices. Recommend order pickups to cut waiting.

I'd advise people eating in, to go up to the counter or notify someone. And turn your hopes down when it comes to service especially in places like these. Then consider if the food is worth it. For me it is. It changed hands a few years back and the differences were minimal. Still a cheap Indian feed. Some dishes are much better than others like the saag, masala dosai etc. I love warm evenings outside with a good dish & cold beer. Oh and I always grab a takeaway of fish rotis (if available) as the filling is fantastic!

Good variety of South Asian / Indian Food, including items from Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Malaysia etc. Both Vegetarian and Non-Veg items. Also has a liquor licence. Prices are very reasonable. In peak hours table service is a bit peremptory, but wait time is not too bad. All together, great value for money. Many items can be rather spicy, so if you are particularly after mild items, don't forget to ask specifically. Parking may be hard to find nearby, but most surrounding streetshave enough spots, so look around.

Service was terrible. we tried to get their attention numerous times. the food took over an hour to hit the table, one meal at a time and every time they delivered a meal to the table we would ask about one of our orders, then he would go away come back with another and then confirm the order again, over a span of an hour. some families arrived after us and their food was served before ours and they even managed to eat and leave before our food came. thats how long it took. we ordered a mango lassi and other people had come in after us ordered the same and got theirs and when we "reminded" the waiter about the Mango Lassi he said that they've run out. to top it off our friend got really sick and vomited from the food, we told them that we would never return and the guy said nothing. not sure if we just went on bad night but it was not a good experience.

Poor Customer Service ! Kammadhenu Homebush refused to Deliver food for 25$ and Told Minimum of 50$ but when told i am only person sitting in home and willing to pay extra for delivery he said "that is not my problem mate" poor customer service skills I wasn't interested to order anymore.. if it not your problem then why did you open the restaurant ? ? why you are not bothered to specify your terms and conditions online ?

I came here for a lunch in late June 2014. There were a few other tables there at this time which is not bad considering the area can be a bit quite during the day. Our table of 5 ordered the various dosai which go for $10-$13. One diner is vegetarian (incl. no onion or garlic). Surprisingly, the regular menu does not actually cater well to this dietary requirement however after some discussion, the cook was able to prepare something for our friend. The dosai took a while to come out. This was somewhat expected considering they do take a time to prepare but it was just a bit too long and without any warning of the potential wait time. I did note that other tables seem to be waiting a while for their food too and they did not order dosai. 4 of us received our food but one missed out. They had not put the order through originally. Our friend received his dosai after we had all finished eating. Overall, the service was a bit non-existent. The reason I gave the 3rd star is because my dosai tasted amazing! I ordered the fish dosai which was spicy and peppery. My friends also loved their dosai (masala and mysore masala which is a spicier version). I have no idea what the other dishes are like so my rating is based purely on the dosai. I would come back but only if I had the time for a leisurely meal and felt patient that day.

Terrible service, I ordered a drink Teh Tarik which was wrongly given to us as coffee which took them almost 30 minutes to bring out to our table. Then, 5 minutes later we got the teh tarik ordered. Taste is good but their service is way much slower than Kammadhenu in Newtown which by far is one of the best restaurants in Sydney.FYI, we were the only customers is this shop that was still open around tea time. Kammadhenu Homebush branch is clearly in need of a better management changeover.
