Review Hanuman Thai Restaurant - Hoppers Crossing

Amy Elizabeth
Good food, decent serving sizes, friendly staff. Have tried a few things, eat in and takeaway. I quite like the gf red curry, although this time it was quite spicy. The coconut rice is delicious. The pad Thai was good, both gf and not. Also tried the gf satay, not so good. Mixed entrees we’re good too. Probably the best Thai I’ve had in the West. The service, while friendly is a little slow. The food came quick, just took a little bit to be served. Now with the level crossing removed, it’s much easier to get to. Plenty of parking.

Good fast service and the portion was generous. Just tried couple of dishes from their lunch specials and they were good, tad sweeter than our liking. Restaurant had lots of seating inside and ample car parking outside. As this is opposite to a busy station parking might be hard to find in peak times.

Had the lunch special today and it was fantastic. We had the Pad Thai, Pad see ew and the drunk basil noodles. Everything was really fresh with a good range of vegetables and seafood. Perfect balance of flavours. Can't wait to try more of the menu.Definitely my new first choice of Thai restaurant.

This popular local Thai Restaurant is located at opposite station and busy carpark towards the corner of intersection. This small area has all types of cuisine. We just came to pick up Indian sweets near by but decided to have dinner here before heading home. They have many great wait staff and wearing beautiful Thai dress at Saturday night. They are all polite, friendly and attentive. We had chicken Tom Yam soup ☆5 It had fresh dry chilli and soup was authentic and flavourful. Chicken spring rolls were more of big thick fresh carrot spring rolls and under seasoning chicken mince for my partner but personally, I like the natural flavour of carrot so ☆4 for semi vegetarian ☆1 for meat lovers lol Veg Thai fried rice ☆4.5 It was flavourful and indeed all reviewers recommended. Chicken Pat Thai ☆3 The sause was bit too sweet. Black sticky rice with 2! generous scoops of ice cream was ☆5 And service was ☆5+ It was the pleasant dining and great potion size for family dining.

Poor customer service for seated diners. They are now more interested in chasing the uber diner than those seated in their restaurant willing to add to their orders. But we couldn't. Disappointed. Have been here on many previous occasions and it was always exceptional. But the chips are amazing.

I don't normally leave bad reviews, however this one was just really bad. Coconut rice wasn't rice anymore, closer to a congee. Tom yum was very unusual- didn't seem like thai at all. Also black rice was not anywhere near expectation, coconut milk tasted worse then even straight out of a can. Can't explain the problem any clearer without sharing the taste of regret in ordering. Stay clear and wish them the best in finding a new business 🙏🙏

It was like being invited to someone’s home for lunch. We were looked after by the owners of the restaurant, a very sweet couple. The ambience was neat and the artwork on the wall was interesting. We ordered Pad Thai, Drunken Basil Noodles and Param Curry with Rice. All the dishes were amazing and the portions were generous. We would love to come back and maybe also try the desserts this time. It was such a happy, cozy lunch :)

I have only given this one star as I can’t write a review otherwise

The good well we ordered take away and 2 of the dishes where not provided she read them back to us and they where there but didn’t get charged for or included in the order
The food was “interesting” and the hot pad cha was not really edible- after living and working in Asia this was just over chillid it had no garlic and 5 strings of fresh peppercorns- that should be removed before the dish is served thud making it in edible the Roti’s where not edible
and the whole experience not nice

The best place to eat for Thai food. Love the fried rice, we regularly eat fried rice there. One o the stir fried were ok but that was bcoz we were not expecting so much sauce on it. Tate nice otherwise. Roti and peanut sauce another good find and yummy appetizers.

This place deserves 0 stars; went in for lunch asked for chicken and prawn Singapore noodles lunch special paid $14
All I got is few prawns that were off and I refused to eat them and 3 bites of very cheap glass noodles; when I asked can I have some more noodles as I would have left hungry she said no there was a lot of noodles
So basically I was called a liar as a customer and then when I brought up the prows being off she refused to acknowledge it and laughter in my face and all because I complained of the amount of noodles that she gave me. She did offer to refund me for prawns which basically would have left me with one peace of chicken I got as the extra I paid for.

This place should be shut down for providing seafood that is off.
Disgusting service and food. DO NOT EAT HERE.

Great Thai in the west. Four of us dined at Hasaman last night, from the mains we had the Pad Thai, Massaman Curry, Penang Curry and all the general starters were full of beautiful and authentic Thai flavours. But the Roti was thick and doughy, not the thin and flaky Roti I am used to from KL to Thailand to Malaysia. Other than that we loved the place. Great ambience, clean and the service was friendly, and efficient. We will definately be back again.

Ordered Takeaway Satay chicken,Penang curry, Coconut rice and Thai Fried Rice great taste worth the price paid for as quality and quantity was good and authentic flavours !!

Ordered Ubereats from this place. Was really shocked that my large tom yum soup which cost $22 came in a 700g container. Quantity was shockingly little. The other dishes - chicken Thai basil and tofu with vegetables were very average. And the fried stuffed chicken was completely lacking in flavour.

Had some awesome authentic Thai food after a very long time. Really good food and awesome service. Must try the Thai Green Curry with Jasmine rice.

An amazing Thai restaurant in the west area. Spacious comfortable family friendly restaurant serving very tasty Thai signature dishes. Tried the massaman beef curry ( the flavour of the curry was just rice not too creamy not too watery) and also the pad cha sea food ( has variety of fresh seafood) and the good part is you can always adjust the spicy level. The Price were decent for its given amount of food. The staffs were so lovely and the atmosphere of the restaurant is just amazing and very comfortable to eat in.

The staffs here are so lovely and very polite and friendly. The food is amazing. I ordered three dishes and I had to take the left over food home as I couldn’t finish them. It’s worth for it’s price. I will always come again and visit again. I had satay chicken for entree and Roti bread with peanut sauce ( which is a must have if you go there). I had the garlic pork ribs and pad Thai with chicken for the main with tomyum prawns soup on the side. The texture and the presentation is the food is very nice. Very pleased with the staffs and the food. Recommend this to anyone with family dinner outing or even with friends!

I was really hoping that this new addition to my neighbourhood was going to be great but unfortunately after the third visit it has not even come close to expectations.
The restaurant itself has quite a nice atmosphere and the staff are friendly. It has quite an extensive menu which Is a nice change from your typical Thai restaurant and prices are reasonable.
On each visit we have started by sharing a large Tom Yum soup which on all three occasions has been excellent however, that’s where it ends.
We have had entrees come out that are still frozen in the middle, a prawn dish where the prawns were just dried out and rubbery. The food looks great, the flavours are there but the ingredients are not fresh.

The massaman lamb curry was really good. The meat was very tender. The red curry with vege and tofu was very fresh and tofu was soft as well. Very satisfied with the service and the food was amazing. Will recommend to anyone that I know. Amazing service 😇

Finally got to come here to try the food! Verdict? Nice ambience, very good service.. the staff came at least 3x to ask if everything is ok 😅 Food wise, sorry to say that is below our expectation. We ordered fried rice, tom yum chicken and chili jam fried fish. The fried rice and tom yum taste alright. But the chili jam does not taste yummy at all. The fish is overly fried which makes the flesh so hard. The use a few combi of vegetables which I think cause the dish watery.... 😓
9/1- I got food poisoning in the night and it lasted for a few days, I guess is from fish that I ate.

I love thai food so was wanting to try this place since its new to the area, the restaurant is inviting simple decor, very clean. We decided to do takeout. Staff were pleasant to deal with.

Roti was ok a little bit to heavy for my liking, satay sauce that came with the roti was decent enough.

We also had the Pad See Ew, I love this dish when done well, again ok, lots of fresh veg through out was average compared to some that I have had.

Really enjoyed the Beef Salad was tasty & fresh. Drunk Basil Noodles would definitely order again very tasty. Coconut steamed rice was not shy on offering on the coconut. Thai fried rice was average.

Overall everything was enjoyable.

Great variety of Thai cuisines and an extensive vegan menu. Serving sizes were generous with plenty of taste. Efficient service and great drinks selection including a range of cocktails.

New Thai place close to home which we recently tried. It is situated along a strip of shops and restaurants near Hoppers Crossing station. The place has been done up nice and the atmosphere is good. Staff are friendly and welcoming.

We ordered a selection of entree’s and mains starting with a mixed entree plate which was a selection of the fried appetisers. All piping hot and served with a nice and sweet dipping sauce. We also order the homemade roti with Satay Sauce. The roti is nice and definitely homemade, with the Satay Sauce being a nice accompaniment to it.

For mains we had the Beef Pad Thai and Param Sauce Beef. The Pad Thai was very nice. Excellent flavours with nice succulent beef bits but could have been done with a bit more meat. The Param Sauce Beef was pretty much Satay Beef which was stir fried with green vegetables. The flavours in this were also very nice with a good amount of meat. When we received this dish though, it was a bit cold and not piping hot like the Pad Thai.

Overall it was a great meal. Good to see another nice Thai establishment close to home. A good alternative to Fresh Chilli.

My friends and I were really interested in trying out this new Thai restaurant in our local area. The menu has a lot of variety and the desserts were a bonus. We ordered the yellow curry with chicken, pad see ew, rotti bread with peanut sauce and medium coconut rice. The curry was made perfectly, a bit creamy with a tolerable spice and a bit sweet too. The rotti bread was better than other restaurants I have tried and it was crispy but not flaky. I found the food very delicious and enjoyable. I had such a full stomach but we had to try the desserts too. The black sticky rice reminded me of desserts I have had in the Philippines, it was so good!
Will definitely come back here again with more friends! 🙏

When you go to a restaurant, you can only hope for three things: great atmosphere, great service and most importanly, great food. Hanuman Thai exceeded our expectations in all three.

We initially planned to grab dinner at the Italian restaurant around the conner but the beautifully decorated interior of Hanuman Thai caught our eye. Unable to find reviews, we discovered it was a newly opened restaurant and so decided to take a chance.

Upon entering, we were greeted with smiles and courteously shown to our seats. Flicking though the menu we were delighted to find many dinner options. We chose the Chilli Roasted Duck with Steamed Jasmine Rice (medium) and Homemade Rotti with Peanut Sauce.

To our surprise the food arrived within 5 minutes of ordering. The duck had well balanced flavours and was succulent and tender. The rotti was standard but the accompanying peanut sauce was enjoyable. The medium rice was perfect for two people. In fact, portions overall were perfect for two people.

We walked out with full bellies and smiles on our faces. Special note: the staff were friendly, polite and perfectly attentive. Thank you for a great night Hanuman Thai, we will definitely be returning.
