Review Red Rooster - Hoppers Crossing

Red Rooster is under rated, I had a bad experience years ago when I got a sub or a burger, one of those. The chicken inside was very dry and had burnt black bits. That put me off for a very long time, until yesterday, and then again today (because yesterday was a winner) Just to get more fried chicken. The Hoppers store has parking right opposite the entrance which is very handy. The service is good, food is very fresh. The fried chicken in particular, I LOVE the crunchy coating. Their coleslaw is so good (Im comparing this to Kfc as there isnt really anything else) its not soggy with a bunch of liquid. I think they prep it daily. I used to do that when I worked in a deli. You open up a big bag of slaw without the dressing, throw it in a container, then add the dressing and mix it. Anyhoo...moving on, the mashed potato and gravy is a bit different. Im not a fan of it. I know they dont actually peel potato's and mash them, but it doesn't need to taste like its out of a box and then add water. I just thought it tasted like that. The consistency of the gravy was a bit weird too. At a guess the gravy tastes like it has a slight mushroom base. Maybe its me and its actually really amazing 🤷🏽‍♀️ The roast potatoes and their roast chicken is great, they have good stuffing. I got a 6 pack of the buttermilk wings which says 'crunchy coated' Im not sure if theyre sposed to be like the fried chicken? Not only that, I got a dud wing in my pack, looked like half a nibble. Five wings and third of a nibble I'll try them again perhaps 😐 They weren't crunchy at all. Tasty, but I prefer the normal fried chicken pieces I think. The Reds burger was a winner! The bun is like a brioche. I read its a potato bun, whatever it is, its delicious. The herb mayo, chicken patty, lettuce and cheese is a good combo. Yummy. Chips are standard, lots of chicken salt, so you dont need to ask for extra. One thing I noticed, when I walked around the floor, it made a sticky noise. Some kind of residue on there. Try it all out for yourself anyway 🙂

I'm so disgusted with my order that you get more potatoes what are the real then you do chicken shame that use can't count even 3 potato not anymore but you just don't care but I do not happy

If your not going to put lettuce in my Ripa role please let the customer no prior to ordering , i do understand lettuce are hard to come by I get home no lettuce makes me so angry Waited in drive though for 15 min Hire some more workers during peak

Came in last night for a rooster roll combo, I ordered a regular. I was then given a large bottle of vanilla coke but a regular chips. when I approached a staff member I was told I needed a receipt to prove I had spent more even though they had just served me, I was also trying to provide a debit card history. If I could give zero stars I would. Appalling service. Don't come here.

Young teenage girl was in drive thru she had very poor customer skills, got my order wrong. But food was nice and fresh, gravy was average

I witnessed a team member preparing customer fried chicken by using his bare hand from the oven to the box. No gloves or tongs were sighted at all.
