I have been coming to this restaurant for about 5 years and there has consistently been high quality food and good service.
The meat for the BBQ never disappoints as well as the other foods on the menu. My particular favourites are the japchae seafood noodles and the ginseng chicken soup.
Korean cuisine is I think is the best thing anyone can hit during a cold night! The hot and spicy noodles are just perfect for the cold night Sydney weather. And oh the bbq are tasty!! We couldn't believe that we actually finished that whole big plate of meat hahaha! Overall experience is 5/5! Keep it up guys! 👍🏽
Really loved the Korean bbq here! Yummy quality ingredients and the pricing was really good for the amount of food you receive. Can’t wait to go back.

This amazing unique restaurant holds many fantastic foods and beverages, with the 3.6 star rating it really brings the vibrant feeling into its layout and service, with bright smiles wherever you go. It has distinctive layout and shows it's native country of Korean BBQ with green decor and wooden design, it's pleasure to sit in, with the choice of outside and inside dining. The friendly joint is free to any age and right around the corner of Hornsby westfield centre, but this area is normally very busy and you're going to get a lot of noise so if you think your going into a peaceful restaurant you're not. I have experienced having the chicken cutlets, pork ribs and the fried dumpling at the restaurant, which was successful and I suggest it very much. The fried dumplings has a serving of 10- 15 pieases. It's crunchy, tender and golden, with mine cooked to perfection and also with a lovely sweet pork inside. Chicken cutlets were crispy and definitely moist with a great sauce on the side but unshore of the name. The serving is quite big with three big chicken cutlets on the plate and a beautiful salad. Pork ribs was a big let down for me it was chewy and not a lot of spice, so it really wasn't the best for me. But all together I think it was a nice day out when you just want something casual and good.

It was the Westfield Hornsby Long Lunch – part of the Eat Drink Westfield festival, and the Asian inspired menu was totally delicious. The fare for the day was a showcase of dishes from three of Westfield’s Asian restaurants, with Kangnam Korean BBQ providing the main course. Dishes were done as alternate serves of “Bulgogi Beef Sizzling” or “Spicy Pork Sizzling.” The plates were loaded with a colourful array of meats and accompaniments including our favourite, Kimchi.
Great Korean restaurant in hornsby. We were there for Eat.Drink.Westfield and the main meal was from Kangnam BBQ. We got a huge plate of bbq meat, vegetables, potato, kimchi, egg. Really good spread and great tasting meat.
Very generous sides! We were so amazed by the number of side dishes that were brought to our table!! Love it!
Very big and spacious, easy to talk to person opposite. Ordered a cod fish soup, however the soup tastes like it's lacking a bit of flavour, maybe it's the way it is. But amount is generous.
Will try the BBQ next time!
We were served a nice variety of appetizers, something like Tapas. We had a Beef Bulgogi, it came hot and very well prepared. The flavour is amazing, the service was good, and the ambiance was really cozi. A highly recommended place to experience Korean food.

We had perfect Saturday lunch at Kang Nam. Had 'not-so-good'experience about Korean BBQ in the past.. so was eager to get better one. Place seems popular and fast paced... waitresses even can't keep up with cleaning tables for the next customer. It was kind of a functional chaos... hahaa. 4.5 points to food and the ambience of the restaurant .. 0 to waitress who barely spoke english and/or knows what the restaurant is offering... wagyu beef was run out.. asked 4 times is there another meat.. and empty look. Then we pointed something from menu and she was happy. Though this did not ruined the visit - food was really REALLY good, fresh ingredients, good quality meet (!!) etc... loved it!! Will go again for sure.
Kangnam BBQ would have gotten a 4 before they changed the menu and raised the prices.
The food here is always consistent which is good but the previous menu was a lot better then the current menu. I don't mind paying more but paying more for an inferior dish

This place have many choices and they are good value for money. Up to 11 side dishes, and you can refill as many times as you want. Recently give first spicy crab dish for free. Totally worth to come again and again.
Ordered the braised short ribs and green tea. They were pretty good and filling. Kimchi was good too. Will certainly come back again........
Ordered the meat platter and it was enough to fall in love with this place. The meat is juicy and has this amazing taste. Staff are so friendly and welcoming. So many sides that make the meal amazing. You're definitely paying for quality not quantity but it's so worth it!
The meat here was so delicious. I didn't do the ordering so not sure which types we got, but some cuts were just melt in your mouth good. Soft tofu stew was your standard - nothing special but still nice. Side dishes were great! And because we were a big group they were extremely generous with them, giving us huge refills. Overall a satisfying meal with a great family atmosphere.
This place is authentic Korean BBQ. We had Korean friends with us and they were impressed.
The side dishes were high quality and the quantity was generous.
The ingredients were fresh. The cabbage kimchi was very good, and a sign that the rest of the side would be good, and they were.
The self cook is a bit of a novelty, but part of the experience.
The atmosphere was good, and there was a mix of couples, families and large and small groups.
The service was good.
Would be return? YES.
Great Korean BBQ place up in Hornsby area.
One of my favourite and usual place for awesome BBQ. Marinated beef rib and pork belly cut is great. Extensive menu to choose from BBQ to hot pot dishes. Generous serving of up to 10 different side dishes comes with main meal order which is just fantastic. They do most of the lovely side dishes refill upon request.
Delicious food. Not sure how genuine it is, as growing up in country Western Australia doesn't equip me to make those judgments. However, for me - it taste great, there is plenty of seating and the service is prompt. Not much else you can wish for.
Asking. I want to go to kangnam bbq for lunch time is there something cheaper than 20 dollars

You can taste the best bbq grill menus and the restaurant have really modern feeling.
Clean, fast and cheap! This restaurant have become my favorite among many shops around the area.
I really love their meat dishes and they have free refillable side dishes.
I was surprised by the dishes served, the quality is amazing that you would think that you have a nice meal without ordering any other main menu.

Food and value is A+. I go here often and it's excellent. Waiters and waitresses are always lovely and food comes out very promptly.
Value is excellent if you order a regular meal, prices are generally between $12 to $15 and you get lots of great side dishes. If you order barbecue it's pricier, but the prices are comparable with other Korean BBQ restaurants.
It has the best mul naengmyun (cold buckwheat noodles) I've found in Sydney so far. The galbi jjim (braised beef ribs) and galbi tang (beef ribs soup) are also fantastic.
One of the best korean on North shore! 12 free side dishes are all delicious and mains are great.... especially the meat dishes on hot plates and hot soup mains

Where do I begin. Eating here was a spiritual experience, millions of years of human evolution and collective ingenuity have occurred to deliver a culinary journey of this magnitude. Everything we ordered was 10/10. Excellent serving sizes and very reasonably priced. The seafood pancake was out of this world, amazing texture and crispness, incredibly fresh invoking a deep sense of comfort within my heart. The marinated beef tasted awesome and had great marbling. It was my first time having BBQ chicken and that was also great, pairing well with the complimentary lettuce wraps provided. The fried chicken was fresh and had a great crunch with the perfect amount of sauce. A generous amount of entrees were provided which were all excellent. Service was also very good, they even provided a side table to avoid over crowding of dishes, as well as switching on the outdoor heater on a cold night to ensure that we were comfortable during our meal. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this succulent meal, an exceptionally memorable culinary experience that I would highly recommend to anyone who is a fan of delicious food as well as the primal experience of sharing a meal around a hot, fiery grill as our ancestors have done in the past. Looking forward to coming back and once again enjoying this epicurean adventure. 10/10

The waiting time on weekends is about 30-40mins.
Very busy restaurant but has a great atmosphere with heaters outside. Meat is well seasoned, however we did find the portions a bit small. The fried chicken was great. We didn't get a lot of service, our grill plate didn't get changed at all and our sides were not refilled despite asking numerous tines. Went with a big group of 6 people so we booked ahead.

We decided to try this place for the Korean fried chicken and because we didn’t know what other nearby options are out there. Got in at a great time because we got a table very easily but then had quite a bit of trouble communicating with the staff - we wanted to know how spicy the spicy fried chicken option was and if they could make it any spicier or if not, could they provide extra chilli sauce on the side. We nearly walked out after speaking to numerous staff and getting different answers!
In the end, we ended up staying and ordered the half and half fried chicken - original and spicy (yes, they could make it a bit spicier) - and the seafood pancake.
What came out was a feast of accompaniments followed by a huge and generous seafood pancake, and (we believe) an actual whole fried chicken. Everything tasted great and was worth the miscommunication at the start. I’d go again but I’d stick to just ordering straight from the menu (language barrier being an issue with some of the staff).
Waited 45mins for a table for dinner not BBQ. Unfortunately, it's a ad hoc call and didn't book my table. Will definitely learnt my lesson and be smarter next time.
It's extremely way too popular that they simply can't cope with the numbers of walk in customers.
Great food and it's for real, just can't stop eating lol Always love it's ox tail soup, beef soups and crispy fried chickens ~ HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Don't forget the free refill small side dishes.

On a cold windy night, 4 lonesome wanderers decided to venture into this establishment.
They did not realise this decision would be a life changing one.
Kangnam BBQ was hands down one of the finest culinary experiences I’ve had the pleasure to partake in within Sydney.
From beginning to end, it was a fantastic evening with flavourful and colourful food to delight the senses, polite and efficient service and a very reasonable per head cost.
The side dishes were plentiful with each bringing a unique flavour experience. I especially enjoyed the glazed sweet potato.
Spicy and sour fried chicken was a perfect mix of crunch, well seasoned sauce and juicy chicken.
The BBQ beef was out of this world with each piece melting gracefully in your mouth as if it had always belonged there.
BBQ chicken took a little longer to cook but boy was it worth the wait. I enjoyed invoking the power of my ancestors by eating it the traditional way, wrapped in lettuce and dipping it in the spicy sauce.
The seafood pancake was cooked to perfection, amongst the best I’ve had at any KBBQ. It was crispy at the edges but had that cooked to perfection soft but not too soft texture in the centre.
Overlaying all of this was the shared experience of eating and cooking with companions with a couple cheeky bottles of soju in a lovely outdoor dining area with beautiful decor.
Truly a recipe for a night which reminds you why life is worth living. Needless to say I will be back for more and will be taking my future wife and children to this restaurant.
