Brekkie. Really good coffee, perfect eggs benedict.. fantastic service. This place hooked me immediately... if visiting Horsby - have a visit.
OMG can't believe how well we are looked after when we go to Brewhaha. What a pleasure - service, food coffee all great with a wonderful atmosphere. Cheers!
Excellent big breakfast, best I've found in Sydney. And they have actual freshly squeezed orange juice. I come here as often as I can. Highly recommended.
Always hard to get a table on the weekends, so can't be all that bad can it? Good coffee, simple food (after all this is Hornsby and not the eastern suburbs) always consistent.
The food is always fresh, consistent and delicious. They provide there own versions of very popular dishes. I always get their smoked salmon. The service is always friendly and the standard of food is really high.
Awesome food. Only place in Hornsby to get great food. Choice of ride questionable, but is BMW friendly. Will accept Lycra clad cyclists and I'd gender friendly. Added photo of my favourite morning pastime, nice breakfast and great coffee.
Food fresh and generous. Service always good. Understated relaxed atmosphere. Dog friendly. Children friendly from what I have seen as long as accompanied by responsible adults. Small 's' stylish and unpretentious.
My wife and I are regulars at the Brew Ha Ha. When I say regulars, I mean 100s of visits over about 5 years.
Here's why we keep coming back:
#1 The food is awesome. The owner, Stu, is a chef, and you can tell in conversation with him how passionate he is about food. He's always trying new ideas and diving into the reasons why a particular dish works just perfectly. The breakfasts, lunch dishes and dinner menu (when open for dinner in summer) are all tasty and well balanced. TIP: ask Stu what's not even on the menu - you'd be surprised! (e.g. ask about the "breakfast risotto").
#2 This is a community hub as much as anything else. Stu employs and trains young people. We've watched them come and go over the years as they work through university and graduate. Then there's the regular customers, for whom the Brew Ha Ha is a regular haven. The regulars get to know each other - we know Martin who splits his time between here and Japan, and a lovely local couple who lend us books when they see us. One time my wife complemented a customer on her dress, and she offered to give it to her - dropping it off later in the week. The Brew inspired 2 of my wife's songs (she's a singer/songwriter) - google "A Duck Named Sybil" or "So Your Dream Went Boom" by Rachel Collis - the second song is about the chicken shop opposite the Brew which exploded 2 years ago. It's at the Brew that you hear the news, with the local police and other characters coming in for a coffee and a chat.
#3 Service is great, prices are very fair.
I suppose when stuff-ups happen they are likely to generate a review. We've been to the Brew countless times and found the service to be warm, accurate, and rapid on almost every single occasion. Stu makes sure the cafe isn't over-fulled too quickly so they are only very rarely out of control. 99% of the time - and as I say we have a sample size of well over 200 visits - everything goes very smoothly.
Obviously we are very loyal customers and enthusiastically reviewing our favourite cafe.
Stu is a funny character to be sure. Ask him about his motorbikes or about the latest science discovery - he loves to talk about newly discovered planets or gravity waves! He thinks of himself as a Basil Fawlty character, but has a heart of gold and is not made of boring old cardboard. Stu is just one of the many reasons why this place is interesting. If you want boring go to McDonalds!
Well that's about it from us. It's taken me years to get around to reviewing but here it is!
This cafe deserves more recognition. The service was super friendly and the food was great! I had the Thai beef salad which was cooked fresh and had an amazing dressing. My friend had the hot smoked barramundi with a perfect poached egg and crunchy sourdough. We both enjoyed our meals very much! They also have this homemade fresh iced tea using an apple juice base which is SUPER YUMMY! I would definitely recommend coming here to try that. Overall, it was a bit pricey but you can use the entertainment book voucher on this and I'd say it is worth the visit. Can't comment on the coffee though as we didn't order any. Great and cute cafe! Would come back again :)
We like this place. Coffee has a strong taste not milky. And the almond orange cake is really good. I give 9 out of 10
Great coffee and fantastic service. Great food, and awesome coffee. The staff is quite friendly and helpful. The coffee taste fantastic. This might be my go to place for coffee in Hornsby.
Yea brahh. The food was good, service was good, yea best bloody cafe around.
Love this place. Great food for brunch (Try the french toast with maple syrup and bacom mmm or toast with mushrooms). Good coffee and tea also. Great little gem of a cafe :)
I eat here often and have never had a bad meal. Good coffee and good service along with a well-priced menu offering interesting food.
Great coffee and good food. This is probably the best cafe in Hornsby.
Insanely delicious soup. Popped in for a light lunch the other day and had possibly the best soup I've ever had - a delicious morrocan lamb and couscous soup. Can't wait to go back and try some more dishes....
Great coffee but noisy ...
Homely, gourmet food, always something interesting on the menu. Good atmosphere, decent service.

Contrary to negative reviews I couldn't have been happier with our recent Sunday family get together. I booked the back room for 11 people. It was quiet for a busy cafe and could hear each other talking unlike some noisy venues. The coffee was great and our meals were served promptly by a friendly and efficient waitress. We will be back.
Pumpkin and cashew Soup was beautiful . I can't understand why you get half a broken biscuit with your coffee. A whole one would have been lovely. Forgot our coffee orders but overall a nice cafe. I would return.
loved the brekkie Rissotto, a neat twist pulled off well. thanks for the experience!
Great place to catch a brekky on a rainy day. Great choice for kids (homemade banana bread with butter, honey and ricotta cheese, fish and chips). Our kids thoroughly enjoyed it before their swimming as its just opposite aquatic centre, Hornsby. We opted for scrambled eggs with sourdough and expresso and thoroughly enjoyed it (even my picky hubby😜), their homemade tomato sauce was yum😋.. overall an amazing experience😊!
