Ok there's a bit of a wait for the food as there's only one guy toiling away in the kitchen, but once the food is at the table, it's super fresh and tasty. Generous proportions and very tasty chips. Friendly service too but it's not a place to grab a quick bite.

It's a relatively new place to have opened in Hornsby. We walked in for a Saturday breakfast without really knowing what to expect, and have had pleasant surprise on how well they did their coffee and food.
I've had Italian saucy eggs with added chorizo, which was full of flavour, warm and hearty. It came without any bread, which I thought was a bit strange, as most other places served their baked eggs with bread.
Price is on a pretty steep side for breakfast, especially when there are several other cafes in the area with half the prices on the menu. However their uniqueness of the dish makes up for it.

Award for best (paper) napkins goes to.... Drum roll... Rustic Plate.
Also, their food was excellent and service was happy and efficient.
Potato Beef Bravos was my favourite pick, but all was tasty.
Coffee also quite good.

Very disappointed with quality of the meals Ordered 2 medium rare steaks. We were served 2 thin pieces of meat like Snitchels! and French Fries chips probably from McDonald's as the waitress told us before they're having to buy more chips!! And no care about food quality whatsoever. Another place to cross off the List.Never again. Not worth a star.

Underwhelming - I won't go back. Service was friendly and good, but, garlic pizza was very doughy. And, calamari was inedible, because it was too tough.

Not only delicious food but absolutely all of the staff are friendly and happy. They really seem to go the extra mile with their food and menu choices! This will be my new restaurant of choice in Hornsby!

Awful service - sat there for about 10 minutes, no one even bothered to take our order. Finally decided to go next door to the Shores restaurant, where we had an amazing lunch.

Casual Italian-style dining. Great tapas served generously. Try their eggplant dish. It's delicious!

Will a be ensuring we let as many people know how incredibly sub par this establishment is. Do not to waste your time or money. The Persian plate had dry chicken in between fatty connection, my partner had the tasteless prawns, flavorless rice and salad that tasted unwashed. Can not comment much on the service or the wait time, the place was quite empty at the time. Clearly we understand the reason now.

Great Service, friendly wait staff. Ambiance is good too, however you go to a restaurant to eat quality food and the food was lacking. Oven Pitta cooked on the outside, dough still uncooked on the inside. Persian plate - rice was lacking spice and the skewers were tough and dry. The kofta plate was the worse of the lot. Sorry for this review but the food quality needs to be improved.

Very helpful staff. Good coffee. 11 year old was happy with his pancakes and they catered to his fussiness. Poached eggs were more like hard boiled eggs on toast which was disappointing.

Had a seafood hotpot and its good taste with fresh prawns, pan fried salmon with crispy skin. Very impress. Fried squid is quite good too, not oily. Medi plate is so far so good, normal, no surprise. Service is excellent, staff very sweet. One thing need to be mention is the dishes served with very slow speed......

What a disasterous fathers day lunch - 75 min to wait for-warm steak 15min wait for coffee and not hot...they haven't a clue how to run the place

The Mall at Hornsby is growing gradually into quite the foodie hub and the addition of Rustic Plate is certainly welcome. It's a deceptively big place with an indoor area as well as an al fresco area out the front which is still covered and sheltered. We chose a plate of dips and olives served with freshly baked pita bread. It was delicious.
