Review Unwritten Cafe - Hunters Hill

Lovely Cafe (way bigger than it looks, would be great for groups) with really lovely staff. You order at the counter, no table service. The corn fritters are sooo good, not dry at all. Pumpkin bruchetta really different and really tasty. Beautiful food, will be back!

great coffee and so grateful for the actually delicious gluten and dairy free sweets they stock! Such a cute little hole in the wall set up that is actually functional! They staff are so lovely! Definitely a good spot to stop by for a quick bite and caffeine hit!

Last minute decision to drop in here for breakfast turned out to be a good one! I had the smashed pumping bruschetta and it was not only beautifully presented but super delicious as well! I'll be back!

Nice atmosphere and the presentation of the cafe is at a high standard. It’s got two outdoor seating areas and many indoor seating areas. Also located in a very central area with nearby street parking. The drinks were okay and the service was decent and quick. Overall, this cafe is a good place for a quick catch up with a friend :)

Unwritten moved / renovated and is much larger now. Although the bookshop feel has gone it is still nice inside and well laid out. The food was tasty and fresh. It has a selection which most would enjoy. The fruit inspired drinks look and taste great with big chunks of fruit. Another great coffee shop for the area.

Menu is varied and food very tasty and flavour filled. Not a fan of the coffee, however I would like to try a chai or turmeric latte next time as they appear to be quite authentic. Lovely service and bright atmosphere.

Relatively newly renovated. Interior is open and inviting. Colour scheme is pretty neutral with lots of white to help the feeling of space. Food is good. We had the corn stack and the eggs Benedict Cornstack is well worth trying if you're into that. Stack was well made no undercooked dough. Corn tasted super fresh and had a good bite and sweetness to it. Pairs off perfectly with a poached egg and salmon (or bacon if you prefer) Eggs Benedict is a brunch staple but it's nice when a Cafe actually exectuts it well. Egg yolks were thick but still runny, spinach wilted just so and the hollandaise was delicious. House made I believe? I'd say put more of it on but given I'm still hankering for it, it was probably a good amount rather than smothering the dish. Coffee is made well but the blend for me lacks strength even with a double shot. But that's a completely personal preference. This place will be kept in mind for lazy Sundays when laziness overcomes frugality =D

Unwritten is a little cafe in Boronia Park located on Pitt St Road. Matt and I are looking to try out new cafes and have driven past a few times. . It's a slightly cold day outside and as I walk inside, I notice how warm and inviting it is inside. It's relatively busy on this particular Sunday morning however we are seated quickly.

Everything made fresh - in house and that shines through in the flavour these dishes produce! Playing on point and such a warm, homely feeling takes over when you step through the doors into this cafe!

Great place for a morning coffee, meeting friends or a casual brunch with the family! Menu is fresh and unique, don’t expect to find something you don’t like! This place is dog, kid and foodie friendly!

Very popular local cafe, packed for Sat lunch (could be cause there's nothing like this in the walkable vicinity). The decor & vibe is very relax & chill. Food wise a bit disappointed in the Crepes (the only sweet breakky option). It came out looking a bit sad with everything just slopped together on the plate, the scoop of ice cream was slipping around the plate & half of it ended up on the waitress hand. The banana crepe is literally that pieces of bananas wrapped up in crepes. The berry coulis crepe was a lot more appetising. The coffee was ok. Overall the rating of 3 is more for the atmosphere then the food.

It would be my regular local haunt, were it not always so busy! Despite being hidden off the main road, this place is packed on wkends for good reason - great coffee good food, good service

After a bunch of RED HOT LEGENDS? Look no further. You've found the best family around, and they're running this ABSOLUTE gem of a cafe in Hunters Hill.

But if the 100% A Grade personalities aren't enough to get you over the threshold fret not, weary traveller, as the team at Unwritten churn out the best coffee for miles around, and the food coming out of the kitchen is literally enough to make you black out. It is that freaking good. Legit. You'll hit the deck.

Please do yourself a favour and drop in and say hi to the gang, you will not be disappointed.

Nice little find off the main street in Gladesville. Ordered the corn fritters & was very happy. Generously sized dish with heaps of bacon and avocado. Total dream breakfast. Also ordered an iced latte which was great but would've been better without the vanilla syrup or with the choice to go without it.

Lovely sunny cafe, with really superb coffee.
Best atmosphere in the district.

The breakfast specials looked delicious, and the lunch was great.

Great little local cafe. I come here regularly for morning coffee/breakfast and it never fails to please. The food is lovely, the coffee's great, the staff are friendly.

Cake horror!!!. I visited this cafe again the other day, my friend & I had lunch. It says they use Organic chicken on the menu but I saw a lady bring bags in from Lenards chickens and I know they don't sell organic chicken?? Also bags bought in from Coles...
Staff looked like there wasn't much to do as they were more interested in there phones then attending to customers or clearing tables!
The coffee too wasn't bad. I then took a piece of cake home and to my horror found MOULD! I couldn't believe it..who knows how old it was. I will not be returning.

Chai horror.. Trying to swallow what really is just hot water with a lot of milk and a odd amount of spice right now! Nothing more disappointing then getting home and taking that first sip and it's terrible!! Train your staff better is my tip.

Horrible. We finally tried this cafe, the food was AWFUL! And the waitress had DIRT under her nails! Thick, thick bands of black dirt! Nope, never going there again.

It's completely unhygienic!

Great cafe. I recently changed location for work to up the road, and I have tried a few different cafés in the area, nothing really stood out for me, the coffee was never great nor the food! However I was driving down pittwater rd and noticed unwritten , thought I would go check it out. It's great!! Cute and quirky, had a great feel to it, the coffee was great!! I have tried a few things of the menu which I love and I go back every day.
Definitely recommend unwritten, organic food and coffee and lovely staff!

One of the best cafes in this part of Sydney. It's time I blogged.. I rely on this great cafe for my almost daily coffee! Best I've found in the area by far. Qwerky decor, comfortable, happy welcoming staff, lots of healthy & organic food choices & heaps of stuff baked on the premises. Great chef but gets a little busy - but I know why.

New favourite hang out!. I've driven past Unwritten for ages, and I finally tried it 3 weeks ago when I moved into the area. I'm hooked on the breakfasts: great juices, good coffee, fabulous looking cakes, and glorious poached eggs with caramelised bacon, and smashed avocado on sourdough toast. The feel of the cafe is warm and friendly, with charmingly mismatched tables and couches. A bit like Surry Hills in the middle of the 'burbs. It feels like home, but the food is so much better! Highly recommended.

Bustling and beautiful - the food is fantastic, the service is slow but due to the fact they are building masterpieces in the kitchen. On a busy Saturday morning if you are I'm a rush, don't come here. If you have time to enjoy this place, spend it well :) a great place to take your mum

Stay away from this place. My friend and I went for lunch last Friday...where do I start...
Tables are left dirty..service is slow..coffee is only ok..and the people who run the place are not very nice..
If I hadn't ordered and paid for my lunch, I would have walked out.
Stay away...not worth wasting your money!

The dandelion latte was an interesting item; thankfully the lady offered me some honey to go with it! Eggs Benedict were very nice and perfectly cooked. Friendly and quick service, great ambience. Thumbs up to this place :)

I loved my experience at unwritten, so much that it is now my favourite cafe to hang and even do some work. The service is friendly, warm and nurturing. Coffee yum and food abundant. I highly recommend giving it a go. Cheers

Paradise found. Especially for lovers of great coffee. I found the friendly relaxed atmosphere of this cafe with its eclectic collection of comfy furniture a welcome change from the sterile modern cafes with plastic chairs. our delicious breakfast - poached eggs with smoked salmon and hollandaise sauce and home made muesli with fresh fruit and yogurt was fabulous. a real treat and an obvious favorite for the locals. definitely on my top list for really good coffee....mmmmm

Surprisingly pleasant... To contrast the normally, sterile, unimaginative cafes that seem to rule Sydney this place felt comfortable, a bit out there (for the suburbs anyway), and relaxed and they served a most delicious porridge. Of the two dishes we had we could have shared the porridge or fruit salad/yoghurt as both were huge servings to the point of daunting.

Am not a coffee person myself but a coffee-nazi friend told me about this place as one of her "very good coffee" stops.

Water glasses needed wiping clean (all-day lipstick seems to come off lips and stay on water glasses it seems).

Worth a stop but I would sit inside (not outside) as there is no plantar or anything to separate road traffic from cafe.

Gave it chance. Have tried the three new coffee / cafe choices in Boronia Park and this one is the least preferred. Food was not what we expected and the fumes from the bus stop and intersection made for a pretty unpleasant experience.

A place to let your mind flow free. I finally stumbled upon Unwritten just off the Pittwater Road a couple of months ago. I am very pedantic about my coffee, so that was my first priority. And it was good. But, once I stepped inside, the ambience was the thing that captivated me. It felt like my living room, together with the books, the music they were playing, the care free but comfortable chairs. And yes, they have wi-fi connection too. So you can search for the books on the shelves on the net.

Bad Experience. I live down the road and finally tried this new cafe - DISAPPOINTED! We walked in and despite looking straight at us a couple of times the young girl didn't bother to smile or say hello (everyone knows this is the first rule of retail/hospitaloty - always greet your customers!). As first time visitors we were not aware of the ordering system and they did not even bother to have a note on the tables or in the cafe telling you to order at the counter and the "hostess" didn't bother to fill us in until I asked. If we weren't so hungry we would have left!

Despite being listed as "savoury french toast" mine came with a healthy garnish of honey (YUCK - not savoury!) which I had to wipe off with several napkins and I don't think they bothered to season anything when they cooked it. My husband's eggs benedict was ok though very small.

The hostess seems like an overindulged brat and perhaps she should spend less time worrying about checking Facebook and YouTube on her phone (at the counter) and more time checking the water glasses for lipstick! Disgusting...

I won't go back.
