Review Swordfish Fish & Grill - Huntingdale

The fish and chips here are really good. The grilled flake is actually lightly crumbed before grilling which makes it stand out from the often slightly unappealing offerings elsewhere. The potato cakes are just the right thickness and all of the fried foods are crisp and fresh. Service is usually pretty quick too, at typically 10-15 minutes from order to pickup.

Absolutely love the guys here! They were generous and polite. They gave my kids two FREE tomato sauce to go with our F&C. We'd usually buy those as you rarely get them for free which is uderstandable. Good service goes with Great tasting food! Heaps of parking space around the area if you don't get the chance to park in front of the shop. There is an ATM at the front if you need cash and they have outdoor sitting area as well. We will definitely be coming back. Thanks guys!

I used to really like this place. However prices have just gone up a whopping 20% or so and quality, while good, is not excellent like it used to be. $100 barely feeds 4-5 people now and that’s just for a piece of flake, a potato cake, chips and dim sims. And at the end of the day, apart from fish, it’s mainly fried potato based products. I’ll be looking elsewhere from now on, which is a real shame.

Exactly what you want from your local fish and chip shop. Nothing too fancy, just all your favourites. Chips are always good too, they obviously change the oil often. Recommended.

The fish and chips are great here, which are not too greasy and have just the right amount of batter. Friendly staff and a nice clean shop.

Definitely one of the cleanest and best fish and chip shops in Melbourne. We literally drive by a dozen take away shops to get here once a fortnight to treat the family & enjoy the fantastic fish (and fish souvlaki with tartare sauce) and golden crunchy chips! Well done guys; wonderful family business you should be very proud of!

Best Fish & Chips! The Flake is nice and big and thick and super tasty, and you can't go wrong with the Blue Grenadier or Whiting. The Chips are always amazing, and you can tell they batter their potato cakes themselves. Love this place and the staff!

As a casual customer, i have always enjoyed the service and the food during lunch times.<br/><br/>The swordfish pack is my go-to pick as it always delivers, both the flake and chips are always crispy and tasty to eat and easy on the wallet but full on the stomach.

Went couple days ago. Cheap quality. Fish has many bones, fins and whatever else I couldn't chew. Not sure why they don't clean fish properly. Salad didn't smell right either. I should've listened to other reviews but I thought it may be ok considering how busy it was. Next time I will listen to the reviews

Order dinner and lunch here regularly. The staff are always friendly and efficient. The steak sandwiches and chicken burgers are delicious and great value. The grilled flake is always tasty and well crumbed. Chunky, crisp chips never disappoint. By far the best fish and chip shop in the area.

We gave them a go and was very impressed. Nice crispy chips and flake. We ordered 4 flakes and one was slightly smaller and they gave another piece to make up, was pleasantly surprised. Good old school potatoe cakes too. Decent value. Shop was nice and clean- very important to us.

Under the original management again and the place is producing quality flake and chips once again. It is clean and the staff are friendly and local.

ONCE YOU GO GREEK THE REST ARE WEAK. So glad the original owners are back. Its true what they say...Greeks do it better! Best fish and chips and burgers. Griller pack is so good :)

Almost inedible. Good service, clean shop, food was terrible, never again

Used to love this place but two lots of ammonia laden 'off' fish in the past three months means we will never eat there again. Smell any fish you buy there before you eat it.

Not as good as it used to be. Used to go here until their quality dropped.<br/>They fish and chips aren't crispy and oily. Service wasn't nice at all.<br/>Prefer their neighbour.

Best... chips... ever.... Have been here a number of times. Last night we had the best chips ever... ask for them crunchy... they are then crunchy with the right amount of salt.<br/><br/>The fish is always flaky and the other seafood succulent. Glad the old owners are back as they are the best...

Half a star. Ordered our usual ... Cost us $10.00 more than it used to and you could squeeze out the oil from the fish. Bring back the past owners ... Cheaper, less fatty and always threw in a bottle of fizzy

Potato Cakes and Real Scallops. Went here for a easy Saturday night dinner and ordered the seafarers pack with two pieces of flake, two scallops, two prawns, two potato cakes and chips served with lemon and tartare sauce. This also comes with two seafood sticks, which we were allowed to swap for two more potato cakes.<br/><br/>The serve was generous, the batter crisp and not too thick and the seafood tasty. The scallops still had the roe attached. The potato cakes were old style, real potato with real potato shapes.<br/><br/>Will be back next time we're craving fish and chips.
