Absolutely love the place, the food quality is excellent, the staff are always polite and friendly and the atmosphere is just right. It's a regular for us locals and it never disappoints.
Friendly staff, food very tasty, plenty of room and area for you to have your dogs with you. Will definitely be going back. We had a lovely lunch, really enjoyed ourselves.

MUST TRY. Such a great place, looks small from the front but plenty of room inside and out the back the food has always been beautiful every time and the staff are always happy and friendly.
Interior full of the charm of its historical period. Includes separate eating areas, an informal lounge, 2 fireplaces and full window views to the undercover outside area and waterfall. Even the amenities are located in a barn style building. Food is affordable and lots to choose from for snacks mains and deserts.

We've had breakfast, lunch & quiet drinks here many times! Great location, friendly, prompt service and beautiful surrounds. Last Sunday breakfast was with friends sitting outside by the waterfall! I had avocado & tomato salsa on toast with two perfectly poached eggs & basil pesto . Others had the big breakfast & scrambled eggs. Delicious & Perfect!

The fitout is a bit dated here but by no means awful. Just a small renovation would work wonders in my view. I was nicely greeted on arrival and offered the table of my choice. I ordered a warm chicken salad which seemed a tad pricey at $19. It was probably a rather silly dish to order on a bitterly cold day. When it arrived I raised my eyebrows a bit as I'd never quite seen the likes of it before. It was nothing like the warm chicken salads you get at most places these days. You know, the bed of salad and the grill marked chicken and a few other extras and a nice dressing. This though was very different. For a start, the chicken came with a sauce. And, there were several thickly cut slices of warm sweet potato provided plus avocado, Spanish onion and lettuce as well as surprisingly, slivers of green pickle. It looked very unusual and I had some trepidation about tackling it. I needn't have worried. It was rustic but nonetheless very good. The chicken pieces were generously sized and nicely cooked with ample moistness. The veggies were all lovely and tasty. It all hung together nicely. The dish probably needed a couple more leafy greens but was still very satisfying and I found myself liking it. Against the odds, I found myself liking it here and 3.5 is just the right score in my book.
We called in here for breakfast on Easter Monday, a lot of other places weren't open for the weekend. We had never been here before, but it was quite lovely and we will probably go back. The do brekky until late (can't remember if it was 2.30 or 3?) and also have a lunch menu. It was a warm day for April, so we sat out the back. If you are a dog lover, you can take Fido here, as there is a side entry so you don't have to walk through the cafe. There were a couple of people there with pooches, hubby said we should bring ours, but when they started up the waterfall I thought "Probably not, or they'd be swimming in the water feature!" That would have made it difficult to keep eating my smashed avo with dukka, wouldn't it? Hubby had the eggs benny on gluten free bread. Lots of people seemed to be repeat customers (they seemed to be known to staff) so that's always a good sign.
A very nice cafe in Hurstbridge. The service was very good - friendly and prompt and clearing dishes from the table. The decor gives very good atmosphere, and although we sat inside, there is a really nice waterfall feature in the outside seating area at the back, and it would be very pleasant to sit there.
We ordered from the all day breakfast menu for our lunch and enjoyed our meals. Nothing to complain about. I would definitely come back here again if I am in the area.

Went today for lunch . Very friendly owner and staffs . There's not many photos on zomato and it's our first time in this town so i imagine it's a small local cafe .
Turns out it's actually bigger than I thought. Never judge a cafe by its facade lol. What's really interesting is there's many antiques from the old post office . Like its name - post office cafe . The location was the old post office I assume.
There's a little water fall on the back yards, if you sit outside you can enjoy your meal with the lovely waterfall:)
We had the potato wages, it can never go wrong, also my chicken focaccia was good too. Nothing to complain about the food . And we also had the sticky date pudding cupcakes which was pretty nice . It's quite small, but it's Sweet, moist, with the caramel sauce & cream , yum . They actually have a variety of cake choice! I was quite impressed when I walked in.
About the beverage , my husband said he's not a fan of his latte but My chai latte was alright for me .
All in all, it's a fun place to visit, the food is good too . Took a lot of photos about the old antiques, we like this kind of stuff. Love the waterfall.
I loved this cafe. the staff (I am assuming family-run) were extremely hospitable. Great coffee and breakfasts. The back courtyard has an amazing water feature and old bush-style museum ambience. Good beers on tap, too.

Stopped in not too long ago for a quick coffee with my dad. The staff were lovely (although I know a few of them so I might be biased!), had a nice view, played a good mix of music and it was one of the nicer coffees I'd had in a while. Will definitely be back
Have been coming here for years for breakfast which has always been consistent and enjoyable, staff are nice, tried out there dinner menu recently and wasn't edible kids nuggets were raw in the middle. Will stick to breakfast in future!
We have been coming here for lunch for about 7yrs. Service is great and meals always come out quick. If there is ever a hold up we have always been told in advance. Kids can play with toys and u can take your dog along. We luv this place, Fab & Adrien are always chatty and really look after you as a customer

Great Cafe and the Paintings on display are fantastic. What a nice place. Food was excellent. All four of us got quick service with very good food. Coffee was good. Surrounds are nice , the paintings on the walls are great add to the ambiance of the cafe. If you are in Hurstbridge give it a try.

Perfect Breakfast. I really love the Post Office Cafe ! Four of us visted for breakfast and noone had a bad word to say. The staff were friendly, service was quick and the food was delicious. What more could we ask for ?!?
Loved it. Well the last guy couldn't be more wrong, I am a regular and have never been let down, excellent coffee, great food and reasonable prices. milkshakes are a little small but so is the price! And the mango dressing on the salad is fantastic. The staff are always a pleasure too. Judging by your previous reviews mr bouris you are not pleased by anything less than six star treatment
Lovely old gem great variety. I love an old building put to good use, and they have done a great job to make a relaxing dining atmosphere here. For those that prefer to dine outside there is the less formal out the front counter like space, and then the large paved courtyard at the rear. Service was great and we were asked if we had been before and when said we were 1st timers, were politely told how it works and where to order. Huge variety, open on a sunday which we love as a family who like to eat out for a brunch. Kids meals affordable. Hubby had a lovely homemade soup, and I was not disappointed with beautiful huge scones. Coffee is strong but nice blend. We will be back to try the big breakfasts that looked so delicious on the table beside us.
Fantastic atmosphere. We went on a cold, rainy day - it was so nice to sit beside the fire and eat. Kids were happy at crayons & colouring books provided which kept them entertained. Food is great. Lovely for brunch, morning tea & lunch.
Good for a quick afternoon tea. This place has a great atmosphere and coffee is hot and good quality. The food can be hit and miss sometimes, our scones were a little stale on our last visit but we go regularly and the quality is usually better.

A great place for lunch. This is a great place to go for lunch on a day out around Hurstbridge and the north-east region of Melbourne. The food is good with really fresh salads (love that mango salad dressing!) accompanying things like toasted sandwiches and other light meals. The array of sweets and desserts on display is outstanding. We've been a few times now and I always look forward to going back.
