This is by far one of the best Japanese BBQ restaurant I’ve been to in Sydney, the bbq meat and food are just so good, friendly service, can’t wait for next time.
👍 place for BBQ, such a nice service, the food is tasty and reasonable price, comfortable facilities, I feel good 😊 that I have found this restaurant, very convenient for me after eating walk home and sleep 😴
Awesome food and awesome stuff members I recommend coming again :)
Good quality meat and good service,so glad I found this nice restaurant ,at least we don't need to go to Strathfield to look for nice bbq restaurants, not to mention that we had bad dining experience in the bulgogi strathfield bbq restaurant!
Fresh tasty food and absolute lovely stafff highly recommended
The wagyu cuts were a melt in mouth experience and definitely worth the hefty price tag! The other dishes we ordered like takoyaki and tempura prawn were also good but the standout was clearly the meat. However, the ice cream was a bit of a let down because they source it from elsewhere and it was so frozen, it was almost like eating ice.
Quite expensive for this suburb but you definitely get the quality you pay for. It's good that they have lunch options now too, with the same great quality. There's a large variety to choose from and everything is fresh.
Japanese BBQ that offers premium cuts of meat. Ordered three types of wagyu beef and they were all really tender.
For those complaining that there's no 'all you can eat' offer, I actually prefer this type of bbq. You pay for what you order and you get what you pay for. If it was 'all you can eat', the quality of the beef will definitely be of a lower grade. I enjoyed the bbq here and highly recommend it to those who enjoy eating quality meats.
Ps. Their icecreams and sorbet are really good too. Love the mandarin yuzu and miso caramel peanut flavours. In terms of quality Rokko beats all the 'all you can eat' bbqs I've ever had 😍
Great Japanese restaurant in Hurstville area, had wagyu beef teishoku 定食 lunch set, includes rice and miso soup. Under $20, value for money with large portions of food
Come here regularly. I love their miso pork karubi. Lately the quality of the meat is a bit inconsistent. The portion was generous. Decent price. Staffs speak minimum English, too much misscommunication.
I love the food from this restaurant which we ordered for dinner. The Stone Pot Bibimbab with Miso Soup was perfect. I like the sauce and when it was mixed, it was delicious though it was a little bit spicy. As the Bibimbap is served in hot stone pot, it adds the spiciness of the sauce flavour. The Chicken Namban was delicious too with generous amount of the japanese tartar sauce. I especially love the setting of this restaurant, which makes it perfect for fine dining.
I do not regularly contribute to ratings regarding restaurants, however on this occasion I have relented. The food, atmosphere and whole dining experience was 1st class. We had a party of 5, all of whom enjoyed every aspect of the evening, We will be back.
Great BBQ in Hv. Reasonable price and great location. But not so many choices at the menu. I come here a few times just for the delicious pork
Rokko'd my socks off!! The short rib was succulent and so fresh, we drowned with the delightful baby octopus and the saké kept us brimming the whole evening, service isn't amazing but knowing a word or two of Japanese really goes a long way, great spot.
Sayonara rok x
Lunch at Rokko was the best, good value lunch set with variety different meats to choose from, quality fresh meat, friendly service, definitely come back!
Bibimbap had great flavour, not too spicy and the plates of beef were fresh, good portions and were reasonably priced. Nice interior and a pleasant experience.
Nice interior, pretty decent Japanese BBQ restaurant in hurstville. The meat and bibimbap is delicious and the price is very cheap/affordable. Definitely recommend this place.
Meat tastes very fresh and seasoning just right amount, taste better than lots of other Korean BBQ, nice service and vibe, affordable price, highly recommended for BBQ lover
Loved the Beef tatami! The bibimbap was delicious! It has egg yolk, bean sprout, Chinese mushroom and beef strips. The right amount of spicy too. The meat here was super fresh and marinated really well.
That rare beef bimbimbam! The dish was so good we ended up ordering another one because everyone was fighting over it. It had lots of sauce so super tasty and all the ingredients were fresh. The meats were also great quality and very thinly cut. As a result it was super tasty. I really liked the rib slices (can't remember their exact name but it came in a round plate).
Side dishes were also very yummy. The corn had lots of butter.. mmmm
The service on the other hand was a little shocking. Prices were on the higher side for hurstville as portions were small. We ended up paying $37 pp. Overall a great place in the area. I am glad to see nicer food options in Hurstville.
It feels like every day at the moment there is a new restaurant popping up on Forrest Road in Hurstville. The latest, Rokko Japanese BBQ, only opened it’s doors a couple of weeks ago and has been drawing some big crowds. Having recently come back from a trip to Japan, I’m always keen to fill the void for amazing Japanese food, so of course I had to try it.
Great place for a night of Japanese BBQ has both cooked items as well as uncooked. The restaurant is nicely set out and the chairs are so comfy!! We ordered a mix of cooked food and raw to cook on our table, all the meat and vegetables that we had were very good quality. I recommend the duck breast, cheese sausage and the beef short rib. Can't wait to go back!!
One of my favourite local BBQ restaurants. Fresh quality meat, seafood and vegetables. I highly recommend the buffet as for the price it's fantastic value and has a great variety of options. The staff here are friendly and attentive.
I came to the restaurant recently and this is my first visit. We booked the day before so it didn't take long for our table to be ready. However we booked for 5 people and the seats were quite small and only 1 BBQ stove for 5 people...
The meat quality was good. We ordered the premium all-you-can-eat so it was good for the premium meats, especially wagyu meats. The fried dishes were good as well. Their pork belly was also good 😊
Their all-you-can-eat menu have some soft drink which is nice but they don't include icecream. The pickle option was very limited option.
Their service was fast, staffs were friendly but sashimi took forever to arrive. We ordered sashimi since we came, it arrived when we almost finished everything and we had to order twice for the sashimi to came out.
Their order paper was super difficult to order, you use pencil to write on a black paper and staff can miss your order easily 🙄. However, I don't think that was a problem with the paper, it took so long for sashimi to come out and the cut was terrible. I could taste it not really fresh. Please look at the cut in the picture to see.
I think it would be the best if you come here with family and book the table before hand.
We had the buffet $55 and had a good time. Trick is not to overload on the sides. The service was fast and very friendly. The wagyu rib fingers were really good quality.
-1 point as for the chicken katsu one piece of the chicken was still pink (see last pic)
I was first hesitant about this place as it always seemed smokey every time I walked past.
When I finally had the courage to try it I realized this place is lit. For an AYCE, $56 w/soft drinks is not bad.
Lots of variety, soups and deep fried stuff on the side.
Do recommend it. Staff are nice! Licensed.
Didn't have the BBQ but the shabu shabu was great. Clear but flavourful broth, good quality meat.
Sashimi was so so.
One of my all-time favourite Japanese restaurants! My partner and I loved it! However, the rates increased from $55 to $79. We finished our food and waited another 10-15 minutes for another order, the service was slow unlike before. However the food is amazing as always.
