Was here for a quick bite before Xihuahua 🐶’s performance. The restaurant specializes in shanghai style noodles. We ordered 3 noodles, all very good value and delicious! The chef/host personally sent the noodle bowl to our table and introduced us his restaurant/cuisine proudly. Quite the hospitality! The place is clean and tidy, no weird smell which you may find in some Chinese restaurants. They speak mandarin and English. Serving speed is fast or slow depending on the noodle. Would certainly recommend and revisit next time I am in town. Hurstville is quite a good lively town too!
Great location. Yummy noodles. Mains came out before entrees. Slow service. Fancy table where all the utensils are stored in a tray underneath. Chrysanthemums tea cost per head.
Pan fried dumplings not fried enough.
This Monday a few friends and myself decided to eat here as they had suggested that it is was one of the best dumpling places. I had ordered myself the 'Egg and Chive Dumplings', followed by something on the lines of a 'Chive Pancake'- my friends ordering the 'Pork and Chive Dumplings' and a rice dish (I can't remember the name of). I was impressed by the overall portioning of the dishes. The dumplings for one were very nice, as were the Chive Pancakes which were not too greasy. The cost of each dish was quite inexspensive, which was surprising considering the amount offered. As a first time customer, I must say the staff were nice. We were greeted and pointed towards a table.
The only issue I had was that the dumplings I had ordered took quite a while to be served. In fact the other three dishes had came out with at least another 20 minute wait on the egg and chive, it was a bit concerning as we were in bit of a time crunch (1 hour), but they had takeway boxes readily available.
Overall, the food was great and the experience was good.
It's hard to find a place to accommodate both Shanghainese and Sichuan spice taste bud. This is the one. The key of theirs dumpling is its Nanjing style not Shanghai. They may different from what you have tried previously. The mince inside blend with a lot more soy source more goes to sweet side.
Very impressed with the hand made Xiao Long Bao (Soup dumplings) here that could rival the legend of Din Tai Fung. Large portion of 6 for $10 is great value. The rest of the menu is quite ordinary in this predominantly Chinese cuisine focused area...
The Shanghainese dumplings there is the best in Hurstville!!! The fried dumplings (Guo tie), is second to none there!!
They offer a good range of Chinese food from south east of China. I haven't tried all, but the ones I had were all great!
*Cash only
Food and service isn't too bad at this place. I have been here a couple times but quite honestly, there are better places around in Hurstville. They seem to just do a good mix of everything so if you can't really decide what you want. This could be a good choice since they don't do anything really good or anything bad.
The xiao long bao (soup dumplings) here are big and full of delicious broth and filling. There's so much flavour you won't really need any sauce.
The pork and prawn wonton soup is also a delight. Perfectly balanced broth and the wontons are silky, soft and very flavoursome.
Love visiting this little gem when we're in Hurstville
Very taste food!! We took dad to this restaurant for Father's Day. Dad really loves the food there and we also enjoyed the friendly service!! Highly recommended!!
Bustling modern asian restaurant. Newly opened, you can tell the owner put a lot of thought into the decor, and is not your usual no frills chinese restaurant. Almost every table had the fish dry pot, which is basically a rectangular tin with a whole fish stewed in sauces and various other toppings. We didn't choose this on this occasion, but instead tried the sesame chicken, which was very fragrant and more of an appetiser as the chicken came out cold, which it is meant to. The pan fried dumplings were good but nothing extraordinary, i prefer my pastry slightly thinner, the winner though was definitely the lamb ribs. Flavorful with major hints of cumin, and fall off the bone, i thoroughly enjoyed this dish. Will come back and try other dishes.
It was delicious. The restaurant was really good. The chef cooks with great care and service. A highly recommended dish is lamb chops, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. And their little stir-fried pork is very, very good, very authentic.
Never fails to satisfy our stomachs. Vegetarian options might be limited but really tasty and flavourful. Enjoyed the vegetable soup noodles. The gongbao tofu didn't taste like gong bao. More like mala. However, it was a very tasty dish! So glad we ordered it. And very friendly customer service.
My family is from Shanghai and we all love to eat here. This is typical Shanghai style food. Better than Shanghai Li long. Spicy chicken & potato dry noodles is my favorite, same taste as i had in my childhood memory. Xiao long bao is also extremely delicious. 100%suggested.
Amazing place for traditional Chinese food. All the food is prepared fresh and taste delicious. Would recommend
Really loved this place. My husband and I came across it about a month ago and have been back twice more since, though we live about 25 minutes away. The pork belly with cucumber, chilli and garlic is my absolute favourite, and their green onion pancake is definitely the best we've had. My husband got the pickled cabbage, pork, and noodle soup which he loved. They also make their own chilli oil in-house which is a really nice touch. The owner is lovely, and gives excellent guidance with the menu any time we've been in. One of our favourite local restaurants!
