The food was absolutely amazing and incredibly unique. Watching the chef cook your meal inside the cheese wheel is like Italian Teppanyaki.

The owners were extremely friendly as well.
Definitely going back to try more dishes, tomorrow if I can.

I took my boys to this delightful Italian restaurant on Tuesday night as a special birthday treat.   The atmosphere in the restaurant with the colorful Italian decor and all the little fairy lights is magical.   I shared a Deep Pan Margherita Pizza with one of my sons and the other one ordered a Parmesan Cheese Wheel Pasta.  They were entranced watching Frederico Godi cooking the pasta in the flames of the cheese wheel.   The meals were delicious and all the staff looked after us really well.  Walking home my boys said it was the best restaurant they had ever been to in Adelaide.   The next day my youngest son said he had gone to sleep straight away when we got home and that when he woke up it felt like it had been an amazing dream!  Thank you so much for a lovely evening Laurie and Frederico!

Food was very good- and the cheese wheels are such an exciting novelty, staff could be a little blunt at times but it was very busy so I understand!

What a great dining experience. Absolutely love the decor and feel of this place and the relaxing atmosphere. The service is exceptional.
I ordered from the cheese wheel menu. The flavours were amazing. Being my first time having pasta cooked in a cheese wheel, I was expecting the pasta to be very rich and overloaded with cheese but it was not over the top at all. The serving size was perfect too.
My husband ordered the scotch fillet steak. Cooked to perfection & full of flavour.
We will definitely be back!

Fantastic! Bustling place..very busy but wait staff were attentive and lovely. The food is delicious! My daughter had the pecorino pasta cooked in the cheese wheel and mmmmmmmm so good! I had the chicken schnitzel with raclette (because cheese makes everything better!) and for dessert the warm chocolate pudding. Generous serves, very tasty food..will definitely be back!

Went with the family (wife and 2 young men) and had a very relaxed and enjoyable evening.  started with the Flatbread and deep fried vegetables.  Both were flavoursome and good starters.  For mains I had a Pappadelle Ragu whilst my wife had the cheese wheel Spagetti with Amatriciana sauce and sons had the Gnocchi Ragu and the Chicken Schnitzel.  All enjoyed their meals but the standout was the Ragu sauce (with both the Gnocchi and Pappadelle).  The Cheese Wheel pasta was OK but more of a gimic than providing a fundamental diference in flavour.  Staff were friendly and service was good.  Only issue is that it was a little pricey but the food was good so its easy to live with paying a little more than usual.

We visited Godi La Vita for the famed cheese wheel pasta. My husband ordered the mushroom/parmesan one with added sausage and I had the pear/walnut/pecorino one. My husband really enjoyed his, said it was flavoursome and enjoyable. Mine, I found to be tasty but quite sweet, which was a bit much for me and I didn't quite finish my dish. However, the serving of cheese that comes from the cheese wheel is generous, so that aspect did not disappoint.

What was disappointing about our night was what I would consider to be average service. The staff were friendly and we were greeted well and had nice interactions with them, however, as we were seated at the window bar at the front of the restaurant, we felt a bit forgotten. We ordered drinks first then mains, and while waiting for mains we were getting close to finishing our drinks and I was ready to order another to have with my meal, but no staff approached us to ask about a second order of drinks. Similarly, we were not offered or given any table water until after our mains had been finished and cleared. When our mains were ready to be tossed in the cheesewheel, a staff member approached us and invited us to watch (which was not hugely interesting). However, when the main was served, we were not offered cracked pepper, which doesn't sound like a huge deal, but other tables were offered it, so that, plus the lack of table water and the offer of additional drinks felt like we weren't as important as the other tables. We also found it hard to flag down a staff member for assistance, so felt a bit like they were more concerned about the novelty of the cheesewheel (i.e. getting us to view it in action) rather than regular service.

Overall, I'd visit again, as the other dishes on the menu looked really good, e.g. the ravioli, however I would ask for a different table and hope to receive a bit better service.

What can I say. Everything about the food was incredible, apart from the ravioli which had too much cheese. I had the gnocchi and I have to say every mouthfull was as good as the next and last. The aranchini balls as the entree was the perfect addition. Would love to go again

Gnocchi with ragu and raclette scrape was one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. Gnocchi was extremely light and fluffy and so fresh it was amazing.

What an experience. We went here earlier in the week and wow what great pastas .... We didn't try the cheese wheel experience this time but shared the wild boar papardelle and mushroom/truffle pasta and boy were they delicious. The coffee Pana cotta was average but I'll definitely be back to try more pastas especially the cheese wheel ones ..

Attempting a Godi la Vita cheese wheel dish has been on my to do list for a while, so we headed in for a family dinner. To start, Mum and I shared half a dozen natural oysters ($15), served with a range of condiments, including a particularly good salsa verde and chilli sauce. Yum! For my main, I ordered the Tuscan pecorino cheese wheel special, with walnut, pear and balsamic glaze, and added Italian sausage on top. You’re invited to the counter to watch the chef tossing your pasta in the cheese wheel, which they set alight to soften before adding the pasta. It’s great restaurant theatre, and heightens anticipation of the meal. The dish itself was

If you go to Godi La Vita at least someone has to order a cheese wheel pasta, the staff let you watch and the wow factor is huge, they back it up with flavour as well. The crab pasta and the pesto gnocchi are also winners.

Ravioli tasted lovely however it wasn't hot and was a bit tough. Plan ahead and get dishes out as soon as they are done cooking. Warm atmosphere and great employees. I'll come again!

Great ambience! Had the olives and bread with dips for entree and the cheese wheels pasta for mains. Delicious and the cheese is not overpowering. Portion is medium sized. The demonstration of the cheese wheel was enjoyable. Service was good and would definitely visit again.

Outstanding service, food, people, vibes! Loved the al fresco dining experience, with the immaculately designed terrazzo front. We were treated incredibly well by both Laurie and Federico, with Federico coming out and talking us through each of our selections, and how they individually recreated. Even got to try their tarts! Can't wait to come back, and try their breakfast selections. Thanks guys!

Cheese wheel demonstration - nothing interesting. In fact the chef looked bored and was doing his own thing while a group of us stared at him. Maybe this was something they could focus on more and make it more interactive seeing how it's the selling point of the restaurant
The service friendly and attentive as the waiter kept us well looked after the whole night and were thorough with explaining the dishes.
Food - We had one entree, two pasta dish, and one dessert. The highlights were the entree ( Salmon wheels) and the seafood pasta (non cheese wheel option) , both were presented very nicely on a plate/board. For the entree, everything on the dish matched eachother and tasted wonderfully.  The pasta was cooked beautifully and the portion was generous. I am still very impressed with the pasta dish and could safely say its one of the best seafood pasta I've tried. The cheese wheel pasta on the other hand was nothing special with the pasta directly portioned straight after being mixed on the wheel. It taste was a little more cheesy.
Its a casual, relaxed place with warm lighting. Good for catchups or date nights.

Lovely ambience. Subdued lighting. Lovely food. We had the baked eggs which were lovely. Good service. We were so impressed we were going to book for dinner but we didn't because the wine list was not good. No Australia sparkling just Proseco which I am over and an expensive French. Stick with breakfast. And book. They get busy.

Very attentive service and the handmade pasta with the famous cheese wheel was divine. I would go back to repeat the experience. The salad with goats cheese was a work of art AND delicious.

Nice food but nothing out of the ordinary. My main purpose was to try their cheese wheel pasta which was very tasty. However, pricing was a little steep for the size of the dishes. Other dishes that I was also able to try were nice but did not stand out

My partner and I booked in for dinner at Godi La Vita on a Friday night at 6:30pm. We were only the second group to arrive but by the time our meals were served the restaurant was starting to fill up.

In order of appearance:

Service - Really friendly and very fast. Our drinks and food orders were taken promptly and the food arrived quickly. We were served by all three staff members, and Laurie Godi also came over to ask us how things were going, and everyone was pleasant and knowledgeable about the special and desserts. At one stage the table near us spilled a glass of wine and even though it was busy, one of the staff came over right away and was joking with them as he cleaned up the wine.

Wine - We had the Godi La Vita Shiraz and the Sauvignon Blanc. Both wines were exactly to our taste and I wouldn't hesitate to order the same again next time. One thing that could be changed is to add the cocktails and a little description to the wine list menu, as I wasn't sure what was of offer.

Appetisers - To start with we ordered the olives and the char-grilled prawns. I am an olive lover and I can honestly say these were some of the most delicious olives I have ever tasted. Usually I wouldn't order such a 'simple' thing, but these will be a must have when we return. The prawns were equally as good. I love the creamy texture that char-grilled seafood has and the marinade was not too overpowering and enhanced the freshness of the prawns. The accompanying Bloody Mary Foam was a bit of fun and didn't overpower the dish.

Mains - My partner had the famous Peccorino pasta and I had the Black and White Ravioli with Lobster Tail from the specials board. The pasta was very well received and my partner described it as being the perfect mix of sweet (from the pear) and savoury. The ravioli was absolutely delicious, filled with a mix of creamy lobster and served with a whole lobster tail smothered in a tomato based sauce. It was truly cooked to perfection and the flavours were wonderfully fresh.

Dessert - Although we were already feeling full we could not go past the sound of the chocolate lava cake and the icecream filled profiterole drizzled with melted chocolate. They were both as amazing as they sound and certainly rounded out the evening perfectly.

Cost - We did not go to Godi La Vita expecting a cheap night, although the prices are not the highest around either, it was still a treat for us. Once we had tasted the food the cost seemed incredibly reasonable. The quality of the dishes really does justify the prices, in my opinion.

Overall we had a great night at Godi La Vita. The food was the highlight and the wine and great service brought the whole evening together nicely. I highly recommend this restaurant, especially if you are looking to treat yourself to some amazing fresh flavours and a few glasses of good wine.

Godi La Vida is the latest of diners to join King William Road's restaurant and cafe precinct. Opening in April, we'd heard the place has become popular so tried it for dinner for the first time on a Wednesday night.

Inside, the space is quite long and narrow with a nice modern fit-out. However, it's more like a cafe than a restaurant, we thought. The bright lighting and cheap wine glasses confirmed this.

The dinner menu is quite large and is typical of Italian restaurants. There's pastas, antipasto share plates, several salads, various other seafood and meat mains, as well as a big specials board.

Between four diners, we shared the misto di mare platter and two pastas: spaghetti al granchio and pecorino cheese wheel pasta. The platter included squid, calamari, prawns and a Morton Bay bug tail. The seafood was all fresh, cooked nicely and a good portion; certainly enough for the four of us to share. Our first pasta, the cheese wheel pasta, is uniquely cooked in a wheel of pecorino, and we're told they're the only place in Adelaide to do this. This dish was excellent, and everyone's favourite. The granchio was also quite good.

The drinks list has a good selection of beers, cocktails and spirits, but the wine selection could improve. Many house branded wines, which, from experience, can be quite hit and miss; we weren't brave enough to try. The small selection of other wines were overpriced.
The service on our visit was good, though there was some inexperience. In short, Godi La Vida's food was very good, but the drinks and, at times, the service could improve. Would recommend others to check it out.

We got the ragu pasta, and the special cheese wheel pasta with beetroot pasta - both delicious and light with perfect balance of flavours (the beetroot pasta was the standout dish though). Not very busy when we went, but quick and friendly service. Not exactly cheap, but for the quality of the food I was happy to pay for it.

Came here for the cheese wheel pasta video that went viral on Facebook. 2 dishes are cooked in the cheese wheel - pecorino and Parmesan, both cheese wheels are imported from Florence. Both were delicious, the pasta was cooked aldente. The other pasta dishes we ordered were good too. The pasta wasn't very filling though, so we ordered dessert. Most of us were looking forward to the chocolate lava cake, but sadly the chocolate didn't ooze out like lava. The service staff were very friendly and the ambience of the restaurant was warm and welcoming.

Jumped in there for a quick lunch. One quick course, tortellini with brodo, water and coffee. Brodo was very tasty, just like my Nonna made. Good ambience, good service and very welcoming vibe. Just got back from northern Italy and loved the aperitif culture there and notice this place offers the same. Will definitely be back.

Ate here last night with some girlfriends. Food was delicious. I know it's a pretty new restaurant but I can't understand why it's not more popular yet. Deserves to have more patronage. The gnocchi in sage and butter was sensational. Hopefully next time I go, there will be more customers.

Nestled in the heart of King William Road’s café and restaurant precinct is the newest addition, Godi La Vita, a modern Italian eatery. Godi La Vita which translates to “enjoy life” is run by husband and wife duo Federico and Laurie Godi. Federico grew up in Florence where he learnt a wealth of expertise from some of Italy’s finest chefs and combined with his strong passion for Italian cuisine puts Federico in good stead as Head Chef at Godi La Vita.

New, Modern Italian amazingness! Not only is the food sensational but the staff are by far the most superior hospitality folk I've come across in a very long time. They know their food and combinations, and they take the time to enjoy your presence in their restaurant. Between two of us, we shared two starters (crostini misti and the terrine and pate - amazing!), two pasta dishes (gnocchi with butter and sage - sensational, and the meatballs with soft polenta, a real standout and by far the most flavoursome and balanced polenta dish I've ever eaten), and two desserts: now, it's a tough call between the drunken Pannettone, which was very decadent, and the Rum Baba which was fresh and citrusy and elegant and so moist, but I think the Baba just very slightly tips the scales. Add to this the house special Tim Tam vodka served on ice and a complimentary 'dessert antipasto' of cacao bites and a flavour burst in a mini chocolate tart. We left very satisfied and very glad we booked in. A new favourite - already cannot wait for our next visit!

If you think King William Road couldn’t get any better with all the gorgeous establishments of fashion, food and artisan goods. Think again. Last week we attended the launch of KWR’s latest member – Godi La Vita. Owned by husband and wife Federico and Laurie Godi, they have drawn inspiration from Feredico’s Italian background to offer diners an indulgent food and wine experience.

Food was absolutely amazing here! Came for a special occasion and was not disappointed. The cheese wheel pasta is fantastic and had a great taste. Very filling food however, make sure you come on an empty stomach! Expensive, but you’re definitely paying for great tasting food that is worth it. Would love to visit again in the future

We made a last minute booking and they managed to squeeze us in even though they were busy. The food was amazing. The garlic bread was cheesy and delicious. I had the salmon and when they open up the parchment paper at the table this aroma of seasoning was just amazing. All the rest of the food was also delicious. Their signiture cocktail is one of the best I have had, a must try.

A great spot for a nice dinner. We were there on a busy Friday night with no booking and they made room for 4 of us which was awesome. The food was delicious and you could see the chef making the cheese wheels pasta! There was full table service throughout. Thank you, we'll be back!

We were lucky enough to get a table without a booking. We had the parmesan cheese wheel pasta, which was their specialty, and a deep dish pizza. The pasta was absolutely delicious and so fragrant that we could smell it from several tables away. It was also surprisingly filling, given the seemingly small portion. The deep dish pizza was very rich and filled with mozzarella, so pics of the cheese pull were a must. The theatrics of the chef lighting the cheese wheel on fire and mixing the pasta in it certainly added to the experience. For me, the highlight was the friendly service from the only floor staff working that evening. It was a packed Tuesday, with big groups of diners but I could see her looking after everyone with the same amount of care, attention and grace. For my money, it was a very pleasant experience.

Absolutely loved everything about this place. The ambience, the service and ofcourse the food. My friends and I ordered a few starters, the famous cheese wheel pasta, deep dish pizza and 2 desserts and everything was on point! So much flavour. The highlight was definitely the cheese wheel pasta! The best food I've had in a long time. If I could give more than 5 stars, I definitely would!

Delicious food! We've come before and had the same experience but tried some different dishes last night and we're not disappointed we came back. The original deep-dish pizza I had was quite an experience, more like a pizza-pie than a pizza, great for those that love cheese! The thin crust pizza I had this time was fantastic, the base was soft and tasty like a focaccia and made the toppings sing. Will be back again!
