Review Cotto Espresso - Hyde Park

Chris Abbott
Been here on a few occasions when I'm in Adelaide and down at Hyde park. I have only tried the coffee and fresh juices which were both perfect. Next time I'm around I will checkout the menu and update

Great coffee. Friendly service and quite a good quality food menu for a cafe. Free wifi available.

Nice place, nice people working there. Just some positive feedback, the speed of coffee service could be a little faster.

Prefect spot for a cup of cappuccino on a Sunday Afternoon !

Really nice place! Had a great cappuccino and ricotta cheesecake. Yummy!!

Dropped by for coffee on Sunday afternoon. The coffee is great and the staff friendly, but it's a pity they don't enforce their No-Smoking ban at their outside tables. The chain smokers at the next table made our stay unpleasant.

Nice coffee. Busy place. Tells the story. Have to wait a little.

The barista was a sexy piece of A, 5/5 would recommend this pure eye candy.
Tortuguita Comiendo
This nice little place in Adelaide was our first stop for our Great Ocean Road trip. The coffee was good especially after more than six months of not having coffee. I also had the almond and sultana bread which was really delicious with a good spread of butter.

Cotto has always been somewhere i have dropped into for a quick coffee, i haven't eaten the food so cant comment but unfortunately the coffee is very hit and miss, sometimes perfect other times extremely bitter. I do have almond milk here and i do find if not done right the almond milk goes very bitter- saying that when done well the coffee is fantastic!

Pretty good for the quick bite and good coffee that won't let you down. Handy place on the corner and staff always friendly. They also have a variety of fresh juices that will go down well and not bust your wallet. I recommend trying it if your around the area.

"Our panini, your way" was the tag line that piqued our interests and beckoned us to attend the launch of the Hyde Park Cotto Espresso & Panineria. Following the explosive success of the stores, surely five panineria's are better than four? And we were invited to find out, thanks to Cotto who kindly provided all hand crafted panini's and drinks.
Tempting Palates
Cotto Espresso have just introduced their latest food concept to their Hyde Park store - the Panineria and Tempting Palates were invited to create our own panini! The Panini is an Italian version of a toastie but with all the style and flare of Italian flavours - it sounds and tastes much better! Cotto's panineria lets you customise your panini just the way you like it with a variety of ingredients and bread options to choose from. Simple, quick and easy!

Cotto Espresso is currently rolling out its panineria across all its stores, with Hyde Park their latest one. Owners Nicholas Cioffi and Francesco Cerere, who began the business 10 years ago, say the panineria was born out of their own experience of sitting around a table with their family, sharing freshly made bread, cured meats, cheeses and marinated vegetables.

The introduction of the panineria at select Cotto Espresso stores has proven a real success with further rollouts occurring at their remaining stores. The latest to be renovated is the Hyde Park store, where Adelaide Food Central, and other invited guests, had the opportunity to make our own paninis. All food and drink were provided free of charge.

Went here on Mother's Day for afternoon coffee.

Place was fairly well packed out.

Most noticeably - the shelves were empty. No cakes left, no pastries, a few biscotti. The gelati fridge had been completely cleaned out - like wiped out clean and then turned off.

Coffee was all good without being exceptional, but the service was fairly... ummm.... over ambitious.

We ordered coffee and asked if we needed a table number. "No we'll bring it out to you". Well, good luck, but in a busy crowded restaurant remembering just who ordered what seemed a challenge. The system seemed to be "approach a table that looks like they're waiting and ask if this is yours". We had ordered two lattes, a hot chocolate, a flat white and a vienna chocolate. We were approached with two or three different orders before ours actually arrived. Get some table numbers people!

So - not the best day to visit and see what they can do? Probably not, but still... an odd experience.

So glad I visited Cotto. It's like Cibo but better. The staff care about your experience, the food is better quality and the environment is nice. And coffee is excellent. Always enjoy my coffee break here.

Nice vibe in trendy and clean environment. Negatives.....only two staff on making drinks and food. Two pitta breads meant for other customers were left unattended on the counter for other customers and staff to breath or whatever over them. Not acknowledged as we stood by waiting to be served. Staff could be more welcoming and friendly. Concentrate on service rather than looking cool. Ironically...great latte served in good time and exactly how I like and teas to satisfaction of family. Tweak the service and I'll be back.
Info
Great coffee but slow service. I love the cotto coffee (better than many other coffee shops on KW road) but the service is a little disorganised and very slow. Normally only 2 people trying to serve customers and make coffee and and prepare food! There is an easy solution - put one more staff member on to attend, increase throughput (sales) and people will keep coming back!!!!

Ridiculously long wait on our food. They simply forgot half of our drinks order. Tables not cleared, dirty dishes all over them. No staff members seemed to know what was going on. Extremely poor experience. Will spend my money elsewhere in the future.

I'm not sure how this place has been rated so highly. The service is poor to non existent. There was not adequate staff on, all the tables were cluttered with dirty dishes and the barista subsequently ran out of clean cups for coffee orders. We waited 30min for a cup of coffee and had to remind them of the juice they had forgotten. There seems to be no system of service in this place and we won't be returning. Unfortunately we have had this experience here on multiple occasions.

Good coffee fast quick service

2 cups of coffee took forever to come with absolutely no crowd. Hopefully this improves.

The newest kid on the block on the coffee bar scene is Cotto Espresso. It’s not their first store in Adelaide with the original Cotto store opening in Woodville eight years ago.

Cotto Espresso is a vibrant, bright orange little café on King William Road. There’s a narrow bar at the front, for grabbing a quick coffee and pastry, and some seating at the rear. Cotto even has a charity partner, the Women’s & Children’s Hospital Foundation, and proceeds from the sales of the first day of trading were donated to the hospital’s Mother’s May campaign. The launch party saw coffee flowing freely, with a guest appearance by an orange Lamborghini. As you do! Cotto will not only sell you coffee – an impressive range of sandwiches and (house made) pastri
