A hidden gem in Iluka.
Relaxed atmosphere, chic but unpretentious, friendly and accommodating service, a limited menu that catered to all, and a wine list that included varieties from Italy.
The best 3 course meal I have had in a long time... flavours and fresh produce to stimulate your palate. We had to taste/share each dish!
A great night out, company was good fun too!
Go there again, definitely!
ps Kieran and Aaron, you guys have brought the best to this part of the MNC, I wish you all the best!
Stumbled across this little gem at the end of our camping trip - Awesome food and service - staff went the extra mile to make breakfast a breeze for 2 dad's and five kids under 9!
Highly recommend!
Unassuming little cafe but superb food. Beautifully crafted flavours. Highly recommend the Silken Tofu - this will surely convert the tofu-dubious out there.
Hidden gem 💎 of Iluka great coffee ☕️ food lovely setting friendly staff highly recommended
Doing our annual tourist thing of trying all the little places that look good and smell good. The Laneway Cafe hit all the needs. The mushroom fettuccine, south indian curry & lima bean salads were amazing today. Coffee was perfect and service was on point. We will be back!
Great customer service. We rocked in just before closing. It was no trouble at all for us to buy coffee and milkshakes. Friendly and helpful. Thanks for going the extra mile making all the drinks.
Best coffee and seriously good food!
Just had Shakshuka for breakfast and it was so yum!

Had the pleasure of dining at The Laneway last night... It did not disappoint. Service was great and the food was presented beautifully and tasted amazing. Thanks Laneway chef and staff.
My 'go to' spot for a great breakfast when in Iluka!
Great Coffee ! Great Service! Great Food!
The food here is fresh , innovative and delicious!
My bestie and I rolled into iluka NSW to celebrate my mum's 80th birthday. Where on earth could we go in iluka for a decent meal (breakfast)? The answer is The Laneway Cafe! It was more than decent, it was FABULOUS!!! mum had the muesli, covered in fresh strawberries and drizzled in honey, Toni had the divine green pancakes with lime. They were moist and bursting with flavour and I had the field mushrooms cooked in garlic parsley butter served on toasted sourdough, there are no words to describe how delish they were. If I knew how to upload photos of the meals, I would!! Please everyone, if you are visiting Iluka, make sure you go to the Laneway Cafe for breakfast and lunch!! <3
Absolutely delicious!!! Quite possibly the most delicious laksa I’ve ever had, loaded with a generous serving of fresh local prawns. The staff are delightful and friendly, the service fast. This place definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area. Can’t wait to come back next time we’re in town.

In my house we don’t eat McDonald's, KFC, Hungry Jack's, Red Rooster, Subway or any of the other fast food giants that litter this country’s major highways. This makes road trips a little more complicated, because while it's easier to acquiesce and eat junk, I try to hunt down real food (and no, I don’t mean Oliver’s Real Food). What makes me happiest is finding a small regional gem like The Laneway Cafe in the tiny coastal town of Iluka... Set at the mouth of the Clarence River, Iluka is home to just under 2000 people. It’s a 36 kilometre round trip to The Laneway Cafe for lunch, but it's well worth the effort. While it doesn’t look like much from the front, the narrow laneway opens up into a relaxed, covered garden setting. For owners Aaron Moon and Kieran Mutimer, The Laneway Café was part of...
Keep Bringing the Flavours!. What a super find! The "Laneway" isn't exactly like something that you would find around the corner off Flinders Street in Melbourne as it's name may suggest but it is very Iluka chic; and that's not a bad thing. It is very casual and really relaxed. If you are still stressed (which is unlikely if you have been in Iluka for longer than an hour), you will instantly unwind the moment that you sit down. Plenty of outside tables if you have the fur kid with you.
Then comes the food. Moroccan Spiced King Prawns, Fig Salad and Warm Lima Bean Salad were all fabulous. Great Chef who loves his local produce. As long as he keeps bringing the flavours we'll keep coming back.
A great little cafe, which is well worth the 20min diversion off the highway.
We stopped in for lunch on a Sunday at 2pm, and were well rewarded with a fresh and tasty meal, and friendly service.
The daily special of Lamb Kofta balls, babaganoush, a red pepper and fennel salad was superb with the right balance of flavours, and a light dressing.
We will stop here again!
Sophisticated contemporary urban Australian food like you'd find in the inner city of Sydney or Melbourne but with lovely country charm and unpretentiousness. Great garden setting or warm rustic indoors, run by local food coffee and wine fanatics. Really lifts this idyllic seaside village up a notch or three.
