Wow this was an unexpected place to find a really good laksa! Situated In Indooroopilly conveniently not far from the train station and shopping centre. Serves Malaysian staples but as per their name the laksa is king. Serving size is large and prices are reasonable. Best Laksa in Brisbane I have found so far!

A remedy for Asians who miss the taste of the home. The price is very student friendly, given the huge size of the portion. Very recommended.

Consistently Fantastic food and quick friendly service.
So many great dishes to choose from, but I love the combination laksa and their salt and pepper squid. I'm still trying to find someone in Brisbane who makes these dishes better than Laksa Hut.

Good value Indooroopilly lunch spot
My husband and I visited this small well kept restaurant for lunch.  We tried the roast pork laksa and the char kway teow .  We thought that the roast pork laksa was bland - too much coconut milk and not enough laksa paste.  On the other hand we really loved the char kway teow  and on a previous visit we tried the clay pot rice which was delicious.

A short walk down Station Road from Indooroopilly Shopping Centre is Laksa Hut.
We ordered the Combination Laksa and the Chicken and Mushroom Hot Pot.
Best Laksa I have had in years. Not over powering, all the flavours could be appreciated without being bombarded with too much of flavours. A great place for a budget night out with tasty food.
A little hidden gem! We will be back!!

Lovely Service, ok so went out on a limb and went with the roast pork laksa, what an amazing dish. The meat was perfect, thin rice noodles and Chinese veggies were incredible. I really enjoyed it. If anything the soup itself was a little rich on the coconut side, not too sweet though! For Brisbane I would recommend this place 100%

I can imagine this would be a great place for students stopping by for a hearty, cheap lunch or for a simple comfort meal but I didn't find the food to be mind blowing. Nothing tasted unpleasant but the laksa could have been thicker and more flavoursome in my opinion and although the dumplings were pan fried to perfection with amazingly crispy skins, the filling was a little bit less tasty than I would have hoped. The serving sizes are absolutely massive which made the value for money great. There were so many noodles and a lot of meat also which was nice. I don't think I'd travel to Indooroopilly to visit again but it's worth a try if you want to eat big without paying much!

Laksa Hut - Indooroopilly, Brisbane. Relocating from a low-key, slightly rundown arcade within Toowong to being the restaurant on the entry level of some apartments in Indooroopilly, the Laksa Hut has been around a fair while. One thing is for sure that the newer location has a better aesthetic, with more space allowing for all kinds of al fresco dining plus a bar and a more friendly atmosphere; long gone is the hawker sense of an alley and more for an alternative to the food court that is just down the road.

I was meeting a friend in front of the cinema, and after a suggestion of him wanting to be somewhere nice it was to the outside with a beeline to the more restaurant part of area in view of the train line. After a bit of discussion and some walking, it was down to a couple of choices; one of the two places in mind was really good from memory, and the other was this place. He had not tried this place (neither had I since its move), therefore with a snap decision, it was off to get a table right here. Some good old Malaysian is hard to go wrong with.

The memory might be a bit hazy, but they seem to have either expanded on the selection or made it more comprehensive for diners. Of course, there are several choices for the namesake dish. A lot like Singapore, the influence is mostly Chinese, with plenty of Malaysian choices as well plus a few Indonesian choices and maybe there was some Thai; essentially, it acts like a melting pot of cuisines from Asia's south-east. That is the Laksa Hut in a nutshell - except for the part where I forgot to mention that it is delicious.

One of the best aspects of this cuisine is the roti. One of the possible entrees is to get this with dipping sauce (often a curry sauce akin to rendang) on the side. What makes roti so good is that it is often served hot, has a buttery flavour and texture to it melted throughout the dough, and can be torn so easily and shared among folk. It is also perfect for dipping and mopping up curry sauce (perhaps even wrapping a small bit of meat in it as well). This time around was no exception. The amount of sauce on the side was generous and even might have needed more roti to go with it (side note: one aspect about the service was it could have been a little more attentive, maybe meaning the wait staff walk around a bit able to be signaled for more requests). As always, I will return for more roti in the future.

Often I attempt to get in line with the cuisine as much as I can. Therefore, the specialties section is what I looked at. From memory, that is where I got my order from and decided to go a little different (I was tempted to get the rendang curry) and settled on a beef kapitan - a Malaysian curry with a peanut-based sauce. One thing is for certain, the portions are huge and filling. The mixture of meat and vegetables, while essentially what you would come to expect, was suitable and flavoursome. A serving of steamed rice - upon request- came on the side, which had the aromatic and simple smells and flavour associated with a well-done lot of rice. It is one of those simple building blocks of a particular meal that is hard to describe why it is so good, possibly because its inclusion is often a given. Even with the rice on the side, there was quite a bit of sauce left.

My friend is a big fan of duck, and when he can he often want for a duck dish. One he eyed off was the plum duck (under the same section) and that was what he ordered. I managed to nick a couple of bits. It was crispy, juicy and all-round delicious. The plum sauce was really infused into the skin, and it was certainly the better of the two.

Upon the drinks menu, they have an extensive list of bubble tea. This is serious business in the part of the part of the world from where bubble tea comes from; there are separate lists for milk-based (milky or just milky) or red/green tea based. Then there is the options for all sorts of bases such as pearls and jellies. For the bubble tea alone, you could easily come here dozens of times in order to try each flavour. New ones would probably have appeared within that meantime. But I digress. The choice I got was a red based sour plum tea on a base of aiyu (a kind of fruit jelly available in Taiwan). With the combination of fig from the aiyu and the sour cherry flavour, this was a pretty tart concoction.

In some ways, this has been a little bit of a loss with the move. Initially, there was that rustic feel to the back end of an arcade not unlike a South-East Asian market. However, the food quality is still high quality and the dining area is certainly better. This location would be full of all sorts of homesick students and this is one of the best positions to attract many of them. With such a clean atmosphere, quick turnout for food and close proximity to all kinds of public transport the Laksa Hut is on to a winning league right now.

Great Asian in indro. Never really was a fan of this place when it was in toowong.
But ever since they've moved to indro, the food has improved heaps. The new owners are very friendly.
I've had several dishes from there. All the clay pot dishes is a must try.
Mapo tofu reminds me of home. Laksa is average, in their defence, I have very high expectations as I am Malaysian.
But all in all, it's a great restaurant.

Average Food. We eat here occasionally when we have a craving for some Malaysian food, but although a few dishes such as the Claypot are pretty good overall its very average. The Nasi Lemak is disappointing, and as others have mentioned no EFTPOS in this day and age is ridiculous, and the staff are not friendly. I recommend a trip to Sunnybank if you really want some decent Malaysian food!

If you dont like this place your mad!!. The Roast Pork / BBQ Pork Luksa is one of the best things you will ever try.

The flavours are amazing and leave you dreaming about the taste for days after.

This is the meal I would have if I was on death row! Its that good.

Sure the place is a bit strange, but its neat and tidy and the staff are always freindly, plus its a bargain.

This is the place I take people that are visiting Brisbane for a good feed.

Fantastic!. I eat here way too often! The laksa is the best in town! The soup I think is made fresh each day as such sometimes slightly thicker or thinner or hotter than others but always terrific!

Never eaten from the rest of the menu but looks good!

Don't let the unfriendly old Malay lady scare you off, this place does very good laksa (best I have found in Brisbane) and excellent clay pots.
The clay pots take a little extra time to come out, I think they must be heating up the pot to a super high temperature, but they are worth it. If you can take a bit of spice try the sambal chicken and make sure you ask for lots of soy sauce on top. This dish has so much flavour it made the laksa seem plain (it wasn't!).

Tasty stuff. I really like this place. I used to live in Malaysia when I was a teenager, and laksa hut have malay claypots which I haven't had since I was over there. They are yum, take a bit longer than anything else on the menu but I don't care, I love them - try the assam chicken claypot. I've also tried the nasi lemak, money and the laksa which was also good. Annoying things is they only accept cash to pay

Convenient location, reasonable prices and attentive service. The ambiance is not suitable for a romantic dinner, the place is packed and noisy. And you will probably end up sitting at one of the sidewalk tables. My partner enjoyed his food, I had to get my dish remade though. It was way too spicy and I wish the menu had some sort of indication of spiciness. Good experience otherwise!

Looove laksa. Laksa hut. The name says it all. If you want a tasty, spicy, satisfying laksa, come here. The duck and roast pork laksa are my favourite. OMNOMNOM!

The other dishes are generally good but not as OMG as the laksa. I can reccomend the mi and nasi goreng, both come with big nuggets of deliciousness. the tofu goreng is tasty. Some of the dishes are pretty overpriced through.

Oooh and be sure to try one of the special drinks of the day, these guys do a mean bubble tea.

Sum it up in one word?... Fantastic. Their fried rice is the best in Brisbane, their roast duck is of very high quality, and their tofu hotpots are amazing. It is well hidden in an arcade, and doesn't look like much, but still it is always teeming with customers. This would be due to the overall quality of the food, very fair prices, and great service. It is one of my favorite haunts in Brisbane when hunger strikes.

According to my parents (who have spent many years living in Asia) this is the most authentic laksa in Brisbane. I can't say I have the sane experience with the dish, but I can tell you it is full a flavor and highly regarded amongst my group of friends. Unfortunately the bubble tea is average, but I'll forgive them for that.

I liked the food at Laksa Hut and am pleased to report they are very generous serves for decent prices. I would love to go back and try some of their other dishes. We were seated right by the road and had a hard time getting the attention of any waitstaff but once our order was placed, food arrived relatively quickly.

A fantastic place for the best laksa in Brisbane (tied with Super Bowl of course!) Has a real family vibe and an amazing staff who look after their regulars. The BBQ pork laksa with one of their many fruit drinks is a great lunch/dinner!
